When a world loses a language it loses a unique treasure

lähme rukkist lõikama''. In which people run around in pairs in circle and in certain place of the song, they start looking for another partner. And one will be left inside the circle without a partner. We played it in kindergarten. It was our tradition at every party. In my family we had a custom before the meal. We all held eachothers hands and we said: ''Õnnistatud söögiaega ja head isu!'' Also, I don't know if other cultures wish you luck with the work, but usually when estonians see another man working, they say: '' Jõudu tööle!'' and the worker answers: ''Jõudu tarvis!'' And a lot of lullabies haven't been written down. My mother use to sing to me: '' Maga-maga, minu väike, ammu looja läinud päike. Peagi une võluriiki viimne päiksekiir sind viib.

Tartu vaatamisväärsused - Toy museum, angel/devil bridge

Fr. Parrot, and a dedication text, was placed on the bridge's Toome Hill face (sculptor C. v. Wetter-Rosenthal). Toome Hill ´s larger bridge is the yellow and white, classical style. The name is thought to come from a linguistic twist - part of the hill is landscaped likean English garden and the words "English"(inglise) and Angel(ingel) are nearly the same in Estonian. Local tradition says that when crossing it, you should hold your breath and make a wish! The Devil's Bridge was built in 1913 in honour of the 300th jubilee of tsarist Russia's Romanov Dynasty, which is memorialized on the bridge by the dates 1613-1913. The bridge is dedicated to Emperor Alexander I, who signed the founding treaty for the tsarist university - the second official opening of Tartu University, and whose embossed relief decorates the bridge side facing Vallikraavi Street. Like the Angels´s bridge, its name might also come from a a play of words - it was

Power Destroys Ideals

better than it was before, that all the animals are equal and should be treated much better, but as soon as the pigs got the power they did not care about the well-being of the animals very much anymore. The events that took place on the Animal Farm give a perfect example of how it works in the real life. People have always fought for power. Leadership appears to be one of the most important things in the human society. The wish to get power makes people promise things that they are never going to do and to forget about their previous thoughts and ideals. Events that take place in George Orwell's novel "Animal Farm" show perfectly how the things actually work in real life. It has been like that form the very beginning and whether people want it or not the power will always destroy ideals.

The Picture of Dorian Gray / Dorian Gray portree

Dorian's vanity with his painting. After admiring and worshipping portrait of himself Dorian declares that he would give his own soul if he could remain eternally young while the portrait grows old. "Kui hoopis mina jääksin igavesti nooreks ning portree vananeks! Selle eest- selle eest- annaksin ma mida tahes! Jah, terves maailmas pole midagi, mida ma selle eest ei annaks. Ma annaksin selle eest oma hinge!" (Chapter 2, p. 24) He gets his wish, and the picture shows the gradual deformation of his soul. One of the themes in this book was probably Basil's love to Dorian. He told Harry that he can't be happy without seeing Dorian and later on confessed that he also worshipped Dorian. Beside this, the purpose of art is largely discussed about. The action takes place in the late 19th century in England, London. A lot of action took place at Dorian's and Basil's home.

Introduction to macroeconomics

seeking work cannot find it, even when the economy is growing rapidly). The unemployment rate is the ratio of the number of unemployed workers to the size of the labour force. The labour force consists of · those who are either working or are actively looking for a job. In comparison with the total population, it leaves out - young people who are not yet working, - the old who are retired, - and those who do not wish to work--or have given up hope of working. Inflation refers to the rate of change of the average level of prices. Keynesian revolution explains why the study of macroeconomics is so intertwined with policy and politics. - Two traditional demand management instruments are fiscal and monetary policy. Fiscal policy manipulates government expenditures or taxes in an attempt to affect the volume of national spending.

What Is Marriage

the woman gets her masters. 4. Marriage is a three ring circus: engagement ring, wedding ring and suffering. 5. Married life is full of excitement and frustration: In the first year of marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens. In the second year, the woman speaks and the man listens. In the third year, they both speak and the NEIGHBOR listens. 6. Getting married is very much like going to a restaurant with friends. You order what you want, and when you see what the other person has, you wish you had ordered that instead. 7. There was this man who muttered a few words in the church and found himself married. A year later he muttered something in his sleep and found himself divorced. 8. A happy marriage is a matter of giving and taking; the husband gives and the wife takes. 9. Son: How much does it cost to get married, Dad? Father: I don't know son, I'm still paying for it. 10. Son: Is it true Dad? I heard that in ancient China, a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her

Since we are wanting to create a new X.509 certificate, this is what we want.  -x509: This option specifies that we want to make a self-signed certificate file instead of generating a certificate request.  -nodes: This option tells OpenSSL that we do not wish to secure our key file with a passphrase. Having a password protected key file would get in the way of Apache starting automatically as we would have to enter the password every time the service restarts.  -days 365: This specifies that the certificate we are creating will be valid for one year.  -newkey rsa:2048: This option will create the certificate request and a new private key at the same time. Naerata ja see paneb inimesi huvi tundma ,millest sa mõtled :) Suurim õnn on tunda et oled mul olemas I love you! Not only for what you are, but for what I am, when I am with you. Mis ma andsin, see mul on, mis ma kulutasin, see mul oli, mille hoidsin endale, selle kaotasin. i wish he never looked at me that way You're stuck in my head like my favorite song. Kas teadsite, et kõiki, nii hiirt kui inimest, kes ei kõnni tavapärast rada, ootab ees väga huvitav saatus Julgen olla see, kes ma olen ja julgen teha seda, mida süda ihaldab... than the guard, for years. Faria reaches Dantes by means of a tunnel that took him 3 years to dig with his makeshift tools. Even though he had limited resources, Faria made matches, a lantern, a ladder, and a knife. Faria hid all these tools behind two separate rocks in his cell. All of these things show how smart Faria really was. Faria's intelligence is what helps Dantes make his transformation. "There is a maxim of jurisprudence which says, `If you wish to discover the guilty person, first find out to whom the crime might be useful.' To whom might your disappearance be useful?" This quote makes it apparent to Dantes that it wasn't just a big accident that he went to jail. When Dantes found this out, you could see an immediate change in his character. After Dantes gets the treasure that Faria gave him, he starts to put his plot for revenge into action

Essay living forever

If most humans choose to be immortals, the Earth would obviously be not able to sustain them and their needs. We would be still threatened to non-natural deaths, like different illnesses, fire or flood. It would still take time to do things. If Iwere the only one living forever, I would have to watch people die around me, particularly myloved ones. I think this is the biggest disadvantages there is to living forever . All in all living longer is another story. I often wish I had a device that could slow down, or even freeze time for everything around me at my own will. I could enjoy the good times for longer periods of time. I would still age. I would still die. But I would accomplish more. But coming back to reality, we have to remeber as I said in the beginning - the idea of living forever remains locked to science-fiction. Worked : Pamela Metushaj

The picture of Dorian Gray

The picture of Dorian Gray The Picture of Dorian Gray is a philosophical novel by Oscar Wilde, first published complete in the July 1890. We meet our three central characters at the beginning of the book, when painter Basil Hallward and his close friend, Lord Henry Wotton, are discussing the subject of Basil's newest painting, about handsome young man named Dorian Gray. Henry told Basil that it's his best work yet and should it sent to the best art gallery in London. Basil refuses to send, because he has pu too much of himself into it. Lord Henry wants to meet this mysterious boy, but Basil doesn't want him to because he's afraid that Henry will change and influence Dorian by his clever words. However, Lord Henry gets his wish--Dorian shows up that very afternoon. The both men thinks that Dorian is very good-looking man with his bright blue eyes and gold hair. Also he had an open, honest face, no dark sec...

main breweries dominate the market. Saku, Estonia's biggest brewer, was established as the brewery of Saku Manor. You will easily find Saku Originaal (make sure to double the vowel sound when ordering!) on tap in pubs and bars. Saku Kuld (Gold) is pitched as a premium beer, and well worth a try. However both of these are fairly standard lager style beers. For real beer connoisseurs, we here at EstAdventures recommend Saku Tume (Dark) or if you can locate is Saku Abbey. You may wish to visit the Saku Brewery on an EstAdventures tour. Traditionally Saku has dominated in Northern estonia, whereas A. Le Coq has been the choice of southern Estonians. Although it sounds French it is actually from the town of Tartu, and if you come to Tallinn to see a game of football you will probably do so at A. Le Coq Arena. The most common brand is A. Le Coq Premium, but we prefer one called Alexander. In winter we are particularly partial to A. Le Coq Porter.

Dorian Gray, Lord Henry Wotton, Basil Hallward

would never want to be. To others he seems pretty, almost ideal but in the real world there is no such thing as an ideal person. His good looks does him no good in more than just one way. It makes him vain and obsessed with his appearance. Also looking good is something everyone wants to achieve. And people who envy you often gossip and start nasty rumors about you. A person like Dorian Gray worries about his fading beauty and would do almost anything to keep it. For example he would wish a pretty portrait of himself age instead of him. It is easier to hide away a ugly-looking painting, that depicts the eeriness of your soul, than yourself. All that matters is the present day and the face that you see from the mirror. Right? As it turns out, even for Dorian, the saying out of mind- out of sight doesn't really work. You can only try to deny something but it is inevitable that one day the truth will come out and haunt you again.

Jack and Julie once used to play a game where they inspected Sue’s naked body as if they were scientists observing a new sample. Ever since that, Jack has had a longing wish to do the same with his older sister. Jack was weirdly attracted to her. As if this wasn’t inappropriate enough, Jack and Julie had sex in the end of the book. I think in the book Julie was mentally exhausted and overwhelmed. Even though she was the eldest, she wasn’t ready to take care of everything and take her mother’s place. Perhaps it was the grief that made her act and thinks the way she did. He was quite young, wonderfully handsome, extremely agreeable, and, to crown the whole, he meant to be at the next assembly with a large party. Nothing could be more delightful! To be fond of dancing was a certain step towards falling in love; and very lively hopes of Mr. Bingley's heart were entertained. "If I can but see one of my daughters happily settled at Netherfield," said Mrs. Bennet to her husband, "and all the others equally well married, I shall have nothing to wish for." In a few days Mr. Bingley returned Mr. Bennet's visit, and sat about ten minutes with him in his library. He had entertained hopes of being admitted to a sight of the young ladies, of whose beauty he had heard much; but he saw only the father. The ladies were somewhat more fortunate, for they had the advantage of ascertaining from an upper window that he wore a blue coat, and rode a black horse. An invitation to dinner was soon afterwards dispatched; and already had Mrs. Bennet

Ely Whitney

Eli Whitney Whitney was born in Westborough, Massachusetts, on December 8, 1765, the eldest child of Eli Whitney Sr., a prosperous farmer. At age fourteen he operated a profitable nail manufacturing operation in his father's workshop during the Revolutionary War.[2] Because his stepmother opposed his wish to attend college, Whitney worked as a farm laborer and schoolteacher to save money. He prepared for Yale at Leicester Academy (now Becker College) and under the tutelage of Rev.Elizur Goodrich of Durham, Connecticut he entered the Class of 1789. Whitney expected to study law but, finding himself short of funds, accepted an offer to go to South Carolina as a private tutor. To a Skylark

Shelly asks the lark to teach him to sound as joyous because he says that none of the existent books could ever teach him such art. Shelly ends the poem by asking the bird to teach him at least half of his skills so that the world would listen to his poetry in the way he admires the Skylark's singing. Wordsworth Wordsworth's poem is more about the speaker rather than the bird. It also praises the lark and its ability to sound joyous but it concentrates more on the wish to reach the same heights as the bird. The poem starts with Wordsworth asking the bird to lift him up and teach him. He wishes to reach the place where the lark gets it's inspiration from. I have walked through wildernesses dreary And to-day my heart is weary; Had I now the wings of a Faery, Up to thee would I fly. These lines create the image that Wordsworth was walking in the woods when he saw a skylarks' nest up high and that was what gave him inspiration. He wishes he could fly like a

Akustiline kitarr asendati elektrilisega. Pärast mitut nädalat harjutamist suundus bänd aprillis stuudiosse. Stuudios lindista...

CLOSING KALARAND FOR PUBLIC

Therefore there was no lifeguard present and swimming was strictly at own responsibility. It is clear that locals of Kalamaja value Kalarand and Kalasadam as a place where to spend their free time, to relax and recharge by the seaside. People of Kalamaja are not against renewing Kalarand and having buildings built there. The idea is not unwelcome but losing the 2 flat and sandy coastline is definitely a no-go. People of Kalamaja wish that Kalarand would stay as a public space, at least 50meters from the coastline, where everyone has access to any time convenient, and that current swimming and picnic opportunities would stay the same. People believe that Kalarand should not belong to any residential plot composition, and demand that Kalarand would be accessible even during the developing period. The developer of Kalasadam, Pro Kapital, is a leading Estonian real estate development

artisans and craftsmen. The Persian architect, Ustad Ahmad Lahauri is generally considered to be the principal designer of the Taj Mahal. Origin and inspiration In 1631 the emperor during the Mughal empire's period of greatest prosperity, was griefstricken when his third wife died during the birth of their fourteenth child. In her dying breath, his wife urged him to build a mausoleum for her that the world has never seen before. Shah Jahan granted his wife's wish and the constructions started one year after her death with the principal mausoleum completed in 1648. The surrounding buildings and garden were finished five years later. Architecture The focus of the Taj Mahal is the white marble tomb, which stands on a square plinth consisting of a symmetrical building with an iwan, an arch-shaped doorway, topped by a large dome. The base structure is a large, multi-chambered structure. The base is essentially a cube with

Some theories of Literature

we expect literature to be in some sense entertaining, or, to afford pleasure. WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES LITERATURE PLEASANT? A literary work seizes our interest and more or less at least for a moment makes the rest of the world fade and vanish. A work of art has this power to catch us up momentarily and to delight us. TRUTH IN LITERATURE Art offers truth as well as pleasure. What kind of truth? WALTER SAVAGE LANDOR (17751864) THERE IS A FLOWER I WISH TO WEAR, BUT NOT UNTIL FIRST WORN BY YOU HEART'S EASE OF ALL EARTH'S FLOWERS MOST RARE BRING IT, AND BRING ENOUGH FOR TWO. Is it true that the flower is the earth's rarest flower? If we want to know about flowers hadn't we better listen to botanists than poets? Isn't it apparent that whatever value Landor's poem has is not in its botany? THE NATURE OF LITERATURE: THE IMITATIVE THEORY Art is an imitation of something. Poetics Aristotle (384322B.C.):

Through unification of people and countries, smaller nations would lose their identity. It means smaller nationalities would simply fade away, they would be dissolved. Because the influence of other cultures would be too great. A world government is necessary if we wish to thrive in the future. Although it comes with the cost of losing the identity of smaller nations. URO Security Council kriis, United nations Legitimacy crisis

So long as the UNSC serves as a brake on the ability of the hegemon to perform such a role, P-5 unanimity, on which its successful functioning depends, remains vulnerable to unilateral action. Viewed from this perspective, concerns regarding the Council's legitimacy are a mere symptom of a more fundamental crisis afflicting the legitimacy of the broader collective security regime of which it is part. For those who wish to preserve and strengthen the existing regime, it is the UNSC's inability to constrain the hegemon which is at the root of the crisis; for those who believe that the hegemon should be afforded the exceptional exemption from the rules governing the use of force, it is this very constraining nature of the regime more generally which constitutes the crisis. At most it seems a vague and often suspiciously arbitrary composite of associations with other concepts,

also learn to live it. It's not enough to reach for love, unless you care enough to give it. Men who are resolved to find a way for themselves will always find opportunities enough; and if they do not find them, they will make them. - Why do we close our eyes when we sleep, when we cry, when we imagine, when we kiss, when we pray? Because, the most beautiful things in the world can not be seen with your eyes, it must be felt with your heart. - I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy. I'll be your hope, I'll be your love - be everything that you need. I love you more with every breath truly, madly, deeply do.... I will be strong, I will be faithful 'cause I'm counting on a new beginning, a reason for living, a deeper meaning. - Sometimes I think about the first time I realized that I loved you ... it was as if my eyes took a picture at that moment and stored it in my heart. Sometimes I think about how much my life has changed because of you
