Essee - Smoking Should Be Banned in All Public Places

Smoking Should Be Banned in All Public Places Many people nowadays think that it is normal to see people smoking on the streets. But isn't this a bad way to picture our everyday life? It is certainly tue that treating people with smoking-related illnesses costs millions of dollars a year. Many people who have gone down the road of smoking don't have enough money to pay for their treatment. Another point in favour of banning smoking in all public places is the fact that passive smoking is very harmful. A lot of people and not only adults but children too who don't smoke may not even have an idea that being close to a smoking person can be

Suggested improvements to shop

To: Clara Philipp From: .................. Subject: Suggested improvements to shop Date: 1st April 2011 Introduction The purpose of this report is to make recommendations for possible improvements in the shop. Advertising To begin with, it would be a good idea to think about buying advertising space on local television stations or radio stations. Moreover, we should distribute flyers around our local community, newspaper inserts or on community bulletin boards. In this way the public knows that our shop exists and we will have larger circle of customers. Online Store Secondly, I believe we can also expand our shop by opening up an online store. Albeit a large number of consumers like to shop locally, there is still many, who also prefer shopping online, especially when they are looking for something in particular or something that is hard to find. As a result, having an online store, will increase shop chances of making profit. Versatile Display

Stress is a natural part of people

gives you the energy to throw yourself into something what you want to do very well. For example, approximation for exams. In this situation a student begins to learn diligently all materials that he didn’t learn before. On the other hand, we have negative stress too. This type of makes people nervous and they can’t be positive. Nowadays we have a lot of sources of stress. For instance: problems at school, quarrels with friend or other people, emotional problems. In the same way, changes that occur with the body are a big cause of stress too. However in our life we have a lot of ways to get rid of stress. For example, most popular is having a conversation with another person, who understands you. Also there is eating, travelling, listening to music, enjoying your hobbies. All things considered, I believed that everyone finds his own output of stress and learn to live happily no matter what.

To clean the nozzles for leveling, simply use a pair of pliers or a scraping tool to ensure there is no material hanging under the print tip. There should be a clear path between the tip of the nozzle and the print pad. 2. Use the Move Jets function to raise the Print Pad most of the way up to the print tips. 3. He politely declined, but one persistent Santa would not leave him. "At least tell me the answers" he pleaded, and our friend obliged. Then it was the turn of this Santa. When he went inside, since his resume was slightly illegible, the board member asked him." By the way, what is your date of birth?" He replied, " The effort began a few years earlier and final result was in 1947." Somewhat puzzled, they asked another clarification. "What is your fathers name?" He replied, "There were so many. Whom to mention". If I name one, it will be injustice to another". The interviewer was incensed. " Hey! Are you mad or what?" He replied. "Some research is going on the subject. I can answer with certainty only after seeing the report." *************

Surviving exams article

Secondly, I recommend taking breaks periodically. This would mean that your concentration is better and you find yourself retaining more information than if you try to revise with an over- tired mind that does not remember what it just read. Lastly, it is also important to stay calm and positive. Spend time doing something relaxing each day, such as listening to your favorite music, going for a walk or swim. You also need to make sure you eat and sleep well and get some exercise. In this way, you will feel relaxed and connected to others and the world as you keep working through the revision. Exams can seem daunting but it is really important to keep in mind that it will not last forever. I believe that by using these simple revising techniques, you will find yourself calm, focused and fully prepared for the exam.

The Godfather

Godfather by Mario Puzo, is a world acclaimed piece of work. Not only did the book win many accolades but the movie was a trendsetter in its own right. The Godfather trilogy to this day is considered the best trilogy of its times. The saga carefully and intimately inspects the ups and downs and psychology of the Corleone family and the fears and insecurities that each character possesses and how they compel them to behave in the way they do. The movie was not only popular for its artwork, but also for its close relation to real life. There were many nuances at a primal level that most of us could relate to. Not only do we see glimpses of personal life but we also see how the Corleone mafia worked as an organization. The workings of the mafia closely endorse some of the age-old motivation theories. The Godfather is the story of a Mafia family. It follows the rise of Michael Corleone within the family

Living and working abroad

Living and working abroad Living and working abroad may be better than in your home country. That can only be figured out by looking at your advantages and disadvantages that will occur. Starting with the advantages, the biggest advantage would be new experience. Learning a new culture and the way the people live, what they eat, how they dress, how they talk to each other, is a fantastic new experience. It can also involve more travelling around the world, learning more and more new cultures, meeting new people and getting smarter all the time. Earning money depending on my home country: Estonia, will be better ,because the economy in Estonia is very bad. The disadvantages are mostly leaving your family far away. Getting to birthdays and events involving your family will be very hard

31%. We should take it into consideration that both surveyed groups wanted to listen to pop and rock music. Antoher thing that surprised our student committee was that classical music is not listened to among our students, which means we can exclude it and still get a lot of visitors. The best side about it is that we can earn more income from the ticket sales by making so. In conclusion, the survey clearly shows that we have to include rock and pop artists and maube dance music. This way highschool students can free their souls by dancing.

The future seems dark. - 2012

the theories going around is this: No one knows. Not the Mayan experts, not the conspiracy theorists, not the sceptics. Recently sceptics have used comments from modern day Mayans themselves that 2012 is a hoax, and that no Mayan calendar points to the end of the world on December 21, 2012. This is somewhat misleading. While Mayans do not believe the world will end on 2012, many do believe that there will be a massive event, which will change the way we experience reality. What that actually is, however, is anyone's guess. There are many Christians who believe the coming of Christ will happen within their lifetime. This idea shouldn't be discounted immediately, but it does not necessarily mean the Jesus we understand in Western culture will come sailing down from the sky. If we consider that Jesus was a manifestation of God, it's possible that Christ may return embodied in another form

Advertisements

Many companies build a reputation for their products through advertisements. Sometimes companies sponsor major sporting events and help in the development of sports in the country. Advertisements inform the public about the wide array of products that are available in the market an dhow much they cost. Customers can compare the prices and merits of the different products and then decide which product to buy. Advertisements help increase the sales volume of products. In this way, companies expand their business and enjoy economies of scale. As with most things in life, advertisements can be both a bane or a boon. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the advantages of advertisements far outweigh the disadvantages and it is up to the discerning public to discard the advertisements which do not profess the truth.

It is said that advertising is legalized lying

It is said that advertising is legalized lying. Are the advertised products as useful and needed as they are presented to be? Ads want to make us believe that we need the things or services they are advertising. Advertisements are often placed anywhere people can easily see or hear the information such as TV- or radio commercials. Most of the potential consumers look at the products offered by the media and assume that these items would be effective and useful to them in everyday use. Therefore people who create advertisements have realized that consumers want to buy items that famous people have advertised. The stars prmoting the product most of the time dont even use it. They are just hired to make people believe that the products promoted are the best on the market. Companies need ads to make their product stand out of the large competition in the market. But are they lying? I don't think so. There are exa...

Getting physical

In public speaking, since we usually want to arouse both spirit and soul, the eyes become the most important physical equipment of all! Have you ever conversed with someone who kept looking away constantly, avoiding eye contact? This behavior often illustrates discomfort or dishonesty. Conversely, the person who maintains good eye contact is displaying sincerity, attention, and respect. How can you practice and learn good eye contact? The only way to cultivate good eye contact is to practice doing it each and every time you speak. Here are some tricks for doing that: · Be aggressive. When speaking, pick out a specific pair of eyes in the audience and bore right into them, for just a few seconds. Then move over to another set; do the same, and on and on. · Don't allow your eyes to jump around helterskelter. Do it with purpose. Look left. Make a statement. Look center. Make a statement. Look right

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:17 PREFACE I'd never given much thought to how I would die -- though I'd had reason enough in the last few months -- but even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this. I stared without breathing across the long room, into the dark eyes of the hunter, and he looked pleasantly back at me. Surely it was a good way to die, in the place of someone else, someone I loved. Noble, even. That ought to count for something. I knew that if I'd never gone to Forks, I wouldn't be facing death now. But, terrified as I was, I couldn't bring myself to regret the decision. When life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, it's not reasonable to grieve when it comes to an end. The hunter smiled in a friendly way as he sauntered forward to kill me. 1. He also began to realise that he had fallen in love with her and as they returned, Jerry asked Megan to marry him but she refused. Miss Marple had seen that coming all along and knew how it would come to benefit. Jerry went to Mr Symmington to ask his permission and of course, Mr Symmington agreed as he wanted Megan out of his way. He soon realised it wasn't going to be as easy, when Megan came to blackmail him, telling she had seen everything. Mr Symmington tried to get rid of her by drugging her with sleeping pills and pulling her to a gas stove, trying to murder her. He was stopped by Jerry and the police. It was then revealed that Miss Marple wished to prove Mr. Symmington's guilt in that way, and Megan was brave enough to assist her. He committed the murders because he wished to marry his children's governess

It means I understand humour and appreciate it. There are many things in our life I like and some I dislike. I like when everything is OK. Being happy is one way of being wise. I like to study because knowledge is useful sometimes. I'm fond of reading as it gives not only knowledge, but wonderful moments of joy and pleasure. I am neither short nor tall, so I like to wear highheeled shoes, trousers or jeans. Conditions of the productive animals in farms.

In Finland this survey was recorded with digital cameras. The videos and pictures were published and soon there were responses that these materials are fake or filmed elsewhere. Everyone who sees those pictures and videos realises that they are real and the problem is so serious that something must be embarked upon at once. The pictures that are taken at the Põima farm prove that the problem is also huge in Estonia. One possible way to show people how serious the problem is, is to distribute those materials. Often just talking about something serious does not create the image to the people and they need proof to realise the deepness of it. Even more, recently WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) published an international report, where it is said that most of the 61 milliard farm animals who are raised to get milk, meet or eggs, are living in cruel conditions and are suffering from severe maltreatment.

lark as something unreachable, unseen but heard, royal, sweet and sensitive. The bird is something very mystical because nobody really knows what it feels or tells with its songs. Like a poet expressing his thoughts, the bird sings songs that no one actually asks for. In the spring the Skylark's song awakens the world which shows how much power the little bird has. As the poem progresses Shelly starts to wonder where the Skylark gets it's inspiration from. He is jealous, in a good way, and wishes he could create something as powerful. Shelly admires the most, how the skylark sounds very joyous. People may get their inspiration from happiness but it is often connected to sadness as people dwell upon memories and hopes. Shelly asks the lark to teach him to sound as joyous because he says that none of the existent books could ever teach him such art. Shelly ends the poem by asking the bird to teach him at

Popular papers are generally cheaper, smaller (tabloid format), and easier to handle. They present news in a more direct way, with large headlines, lots of colour and photos and relatively little in-depth analysis. They often feature games and competitions (where readers can win mouth-watering prizes) and are designed to be read quickly perhaps even flicked through on the way to work. much water, what's the point? One has to see the design in connection with the purpose. Evidents of design are undeniable in the world. When we say that smt happens automatically it is not the proof that there is no designer existing. Automatic means that no direct intervention of the creator or designer is seen from observer's perspective. Yet control can be delegated or invisible. Lord has made this world this way that once made it will go on itself. That is the perfect management which requires minimal or no management. That things are structured so well that they go on their own with least possible supervision. The absence of the need of constant intervention is not indicative of the proof that there is no intelligence. Actually it proofs that there is such a perfect intelligence that there is no need for constant intervention. We have to evaluate the design in connection with it's purpose.

IS MEDIA DECEIVING AND PACIFYING THE POPULATION?

TECHNOLOGY, HOW VALID IS THE CRITIQUE OF THE FRANKFURT SCHOOL OF MEDIA DECEIVING AND PACIFYING THE POPULATION? Essay Tallinn 2013 The rapid development of computer technologies and internet has been one of the main factors affecting our everyday life over the last decades. They have made our life more efficient, comfortable and also changed the way we communicate and consume media. Digitalization has also brought us many new platforms and more possibilities for media to reach even more people. The internet is allowing anyone to share information instantly to all over the world. It might be thought that with all these new developments, problems like controlling of the media and deceiving people are gone, but it seems that things are not that clear. destroying its own environment. We do not know are the parts of the animals that are used in the medicine actually helpful to us. There is no proof that those things will help us with our ailments. There is no solid evidence to prove it. And we still inside of each one mind never think do we actually need that medicine thatwhat has taken an endangered animal's life. An innocent life of an animal, that could live many long years and be useful to nature and society some other way, for example, reduce poverty. If humankind and scientists are not absolutely sure does it pay off to use the substances in medicine, then why do we keep making money out of it. It is not right to sacrifice endangered species for something that is not useful and just makes the companies money. Saving endangered species like pandas, gorillas and tigers helps reduce poverty and improve the lives of local communities. Ginette Hemley, who is

The pros and cons of working as a fisherman

that you can travel a lot. My grandpa was a fisherman and he has been to North America, Africa, Siberia (not with the train) and Iran and most European countries. So he has got many stories to tell from buying a monkey to the storm in the middle of Atlantic. If you are a fisher you surely will have a spectacular life. I guess they get paid quite well too, mostly depending on luck. Sometimes happens that you are said to catch sprat but you get herring and the other way. Being a fisher means that you can't see your family too often, you can get seasick, what's really bad, because imagine that you are travelling across the Atlantic and you puke after each meal. A sure disadvantage is your catch, because your payment depends on how much you catch. If you lack of luck, then I advise you to not become a fisher. Also that job is dangerous, too. You'll never know when a sudden storm can start and the weather forecast is not too reliable

Finally, big-factory owners should pay attention where they build on their factories. I think that it is very important that they don't build them in the middle of cities. The pollution twhat comes from the factories is bigdrastic. In conclusion, there are many ways to make our cities' air pollution levels lower. We all need to do what we can. As the old proverb says "To make things better, you should start with yourself". You address the propts given in the textbook, but in a rather vague way. Don't be afraid to use the expressions and phrases from the textbook The structure of your essay is very good, especially the conclusion. However, since you have not been as precise as the task required you to be and your language use has been rather simple (which is why it is largely correct), the mark is a good strong 4.

Asking opinion

1. ASKING SOMEONE FOR THEIR OPINION ABOUT A TOPIC 1.1 Yes/No Questions Do you believe in horoscopes? Do you believe in a God who rewards good and punishes wrong-doing? Do you think we should be tougher on crime? Do you think we should maintain our traditions or make way for change? Do you think the Government should act to curb the power of media barons....? Do you think everybody should be trained to use computers? Do you think that public sector workers such as teachers, doctors, nurses and fire fighters should be allowed to strike? Do you think that the young have anything to learn from the elderly and vice versa? Would you consider sending your child to a grammar school?

Tourism

What are the pros and cons of it? Should we limit the flow of tourists or let them come and sometimes stay forever? As I mentioned before, one of the most positive thing about tourism is money. Basicly tourists creat jobs and give people a chance to do something with their lives. The money and taxes, that all the hotels and companys pay, help to develop the local community. Tourism is also a reason to keep the crime down and the streets clean of rubbish. As a tourist it is also a way to learn about other cultures. It is possible to go almost averywhere and to do almost everything. As the tsunami few months ago proved can total destruction of tourism-industry be quite devastating to victim-country´s economy. The fact that tourism is the main income of a country may one day become a huge problem. Besides that there is also another problem. Sometimes some people just act being a tourist. Their actual intention is to find a job and to stay as an illegal citizen.

Iirimaa kirjeldus, vaatamisväärsused(inglise keeles).

They like music and humour and they are also good storytellers. There are many legends in Ireland in which the leprechaun, the shoemaker of the Irish fairy kingdom, appears. He is no bigger than three feet tall and sometimes as small as twelve inches. Sightseeings The Giant's Causeway - is a fascinating natural wonder. The wild, primeval landscape is the very best of sea. The Ulster American Folk Park - near Omagh in County Tyrone Northern Ireland is an excellent way to experience the immigration of the Irish people during and after the great famine. The Cliffs of Moher - rise majestically almost 700 feet straight up from the Atlantic. It is a glorious sight, especially in the spring when it is the haunt of thousands of nesting sea birds (and mermaids--if you believe the locals). O'Brien's Tower, marks the highest point of 668 feet.

My ideal school

manage to finish their tasks in class. After the lessons students could go on free bus trips to anywhere in Estonia. They could visit different museums and churches or just see the beauty of our nature. That would be a great get-away from our everyday life! Let's not forget about the rules! In my ideal school the most important rule would be very simple keep calm and quiet. It's important to study in a peaceful environment. That way the students can commit themselves to their studies. This is what my ideal school would be like.

Reasons of and solutions to truancy

If school were made a little more interesting, then maybe there would be a little less truancy. Some truant students are even addicted to the joys of being truant. Some of them are just too tired to go to school or have something better to do. In addition many students also miss class because they have not done their homework and do not want to get yelled at. Futhermore, some of them do not like the teacher or the subject is too difficult for them. I think that a good way to reduce truancy is not to leave any homework and to make the tests in any time and nobody would be upset about it(students choose when they take the tests). In my opinion there is acdually no solution to get rid of truancy. There are ways to reduce it but it probably also slow slow down the learning problem. School system should not be so strict. Students should decide themselves when to come to class. It is their own life and if they want to ruin it, it is their own choice.

Capital Punishment Should Be Abolished

The pros of a capital punishment are that if the person gets that punishment, he or she will never get a chance to do something that cruel again. Sometimes the criminals, who get a prison sentence, do something illegal again, after that punishment. Second pro is that it's cheaper for the country to kill the person, than to pay for his/her food and clothes for the rest of his/her life in the prison. Although the killing of the person also needs money, it's still way cheaper than to pay for at least 40 years for all the life needs in prison. The main con of the capital punishment is that if the person actually didn't commit the crime, he or she was punished for, will die as innocent. Nobody can wake him or her up again, after that punishment. Second con is the question of humanity. A lot of countries think that killing the people is inhuman and therefore have abolished the capital punishment. Third con is that the person will

Children while young

I think that there are not the right age for having children. It is so individual how people get ready to having them. Some of them are mature already in beginning of 20´s, therefore some people are not mentally adult even on their 30´s. Or like one of my relatives says that the best combination is young healthy woman and an older wealthy man. Also, the term young is very relative. Concidering the age of woman giving birth for the first time is about 25. It has been increased very much comparing with the ten years back time and the medium age for woman giving birth is 35. The society thinks that it is quite late and so am I. In my point of view people should have children when their health is on the best condition. So, I think that the best age for having children is befor 40´s on men and before 30´s for woman. It is well known that woman over 35 is a risky group for having children. These reasons are medical but there are also oher rea...

School Uniform

School Uniform is a bad thing To start with, school uniforms have many good sides for students. However, uniforms also have bad sides which are particulary involved with financial problems. Each and every person in the world is different, and by making people dress the same, they can't express themselves fairly the way that they would like to. Having school uniforms is not necessary, and there are many reasons to prove it. Some people say that wearing a school uniform stop the bullying, because all children wear the same clothes. But it's not true - the bullys and other evil student will always find another reason to make somebody feel bad - like glasses, pimples or overweight. Second reason that schools have school uniforms is because of the gangs. They

The good and bad points of being rich and famous

Eliise Mändla MT-13 The good and bad points of being rich and famous 1.11.2015 Almost everyone of us, at least once, dreamed a life of being rich and famous. But like many other things, as we are witnessing on almost daily basis, that kind of life brings both positive and negative sides. Firstly, celebrities have a lot of money , which they earn in a simple way. Also they don't have to worry about their future. They can do whatever they are pleased to. Travel wherever they want, live wherever, eat and buy whatever they want. Secondly, if you are young and your parents are rich you can start using the advantages of being rich already as a kid. For example you can go to a private school or even to a private kindergarten. On the other hand , their wealth and fame make their life stressful. Moreover , it makes people jealous and hateful

How to find work you love, Ted talks

How to find work you love Ted Talks, Scott Dinsmore His point is that if you want to find work you love, you must understand yourself, your unique strengths (the things you want to do, even if your not getting paid) and become a self-expert, to know what you are looking for in a job and what success means to you. You must also figure out what are your values and analyze your experiences. Once you have this framework together, you can start to identify the things that you want in your life and work. Do the impossible and push your limits. I think that Scott Dinsmore thinks in the right direction. If you want to be happy with your life you must find work that you love. And I know that the most difficult `'thing'' for peole is to actually think, think what they are, what they want and what makes THEM them. I think that's the main reason why people don't make the right choices. I an...
