the assembling of the first parliament in 1906. In the empire's parliament -- the Russian Duma (which was regularly assembled from 1906 to 1917) -- Estonia was represented by 20 deputies. Of these, 13 were Estonians who formed a bloc with the Russian Constitutional Democrats' Party (cadets). Although the Duma was unable to solve the acute Baltic problems, it was nevertheless a means of making the Russian public and the world aware of them. The reaction brought along another wave of Russification which reached the Baltic countries in 1907. Encouraged by the new Russian Prime Minister Pyotr Stolypin, the government officials devised grand-scale plans to strengthen the central government and force the Russification of Estonians and Latvians -- even contemplating the colonisation of the whole region with Russian peasants. But the St Petersburg government lacked both the power and the time to realise these plans.

BREAKING IDENTIFICATION WITH THE PAIN-BODY A person with a strong, active pain-body has a particular energy emanation that other people perceive as extremely unpleasant. When they meet a person, some people will immediately want to remove themselves or reduce interaction with him or her to a minimum. They feel repulsed by the person's energy field. Others will feel a wave of aggression toward this person, and they will be rude or attack him or her verbally and in some cases, even physically. This means there is something within them that resonates with the other person's pain-body. What they react to so strongly is also in them. It is their own pain-body. Russian philology was not studied as an independent academic discipline until 1945, yet from the very beginning of the faculty's existence there were courses in Russian studies on offer for students of Slavic studies. In the 1922/1923 academic year, an independent Section of Russian Language and Literature was founded within the School of Slavic Studies. These generate further thoughts and emanations, and so it goes. T h e concepts described in The Writer's Journey have radiated and are now echoing back interesting challenges and criticisms as well as sympathetic vibrations. T h i s is my report on the waves that have washed back over me from publication of the book,

This is confirmed by the articles published in the Finnish and Swedish jazz journals in 1943 and 1944.
