Oliver Twist

enough to go see it at the Salme Centre. The play was based on the book Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. They performed it in English, ofcourse, but what makes the play more interesting, is that it was in Old English. Thanks to the language, it took us back in time where the story takes place. It was hard to focus on the play, because of a girl who was sitting in the last row. She was laughing at all times, although the play had only a few humorous lines worth laughing. If you go to a theatre and you find the play boring, sit quietly and have some respect for other people. I really don't like plays where they cut down on the number of actors. Every actor should have only one role, so that they don't get their lines mixed and to really live into their character. Fortunately the performances were rather convincing. Also it is better to watch when the stage is decorated. In this particular show they used only the most neccessary things. It made the stage look amateurish and cheap.

ESTONIAN SYMPHONIC MUSIC. THE FIRST CENTURY 1896-1996.

recognisable value-judgement core: it may be comprehensible either semantically or absolutely. We must not forget that all change and transition in Estonian symphonism, in whatever period, never dominated all the composers. Perseverance, poise and conservatism1 have shown, usually later than sooner, that all is not gold that glitters from afar, and chasing “fresh-isms” may prove to be a naïve and infantile stimulation. “Concrete” music, instrumental (absurdist) theatre, “happenings” – such affairs do not, in my opinion, illustrate an exceptional talent, but rather feebleness. One of the great absurdities seems to be the fusion of many antagonistic styles, methodologies and languages in one composition: all becomes equally hazy and flat. Remembering the beginning of the 1960s, when the “new wave” of Modernism had arrived on my doorstep, I have to note some points that are still relevant today.

Tom Rutter repertuaariuuringud kokkuvõte artiklist

Shakespearian Playing Companies") esile toonud uue ajaloolise problemaatika: ajaloolaste soovi konstrueerida terviklikku pilti fragmentaarsest tõendist ja ütleb ise, et "Ajaloo kirjutamine on nagu mäng, mida mängitakse udu sees järeleproovimata reeglitega" (Gurr, Rutteri kaudu). Ka Gurr toob välja enda teoses "Playgoing in Shakespeare's London", et erinevate teatrite repertuaarid erinevad märgatavalt (Rutter, 2008: 345). Lucy Munro' 2005 raamat "Children of the Queen's Revels: A Jacobean Theatre Repertory" toob repertuaariuuringute jaoks esile olulise punkti.

Stalini lapselaps

Russian Language 2. Translation. "Stalin's Grandson" Theatre director Alexandr Burdonsky only rarely gives interviews about his family history and about what happened to him after Stalin's death: "I was fifteen years old when the 20 th Congress took place and Khrushchev gave his secret speech about the cult of personality and its consequences and about all the people who had suffered under Stalin. The speech was no revelation for me. Many of my mother's friends had spent time in prison camps. She herself was constantly under threat of arrest. I knew about all this and I had the same attitude as any other normal person to it. But after Khrushchev's speech many people abandoned us. For them we were only Stalin's relatives. Nobody came to visit us. The headmistress of our school began to pick on my sister and me. We had to move to another school. Later, thank goodness, I met somebody who behaved differently towards me. I was studying drama...

A Movie Review of Moliere

A Movie Review of "Moliere" In 2007, a wonderful surprise "Moliere", enchanted the romantics and critics all over Europe. An historical love story, surrounded by affairs and intrigues, now retold in new colours, gained popularity amongst young and elderly, connecting those who prefer theatre, good humour and a little bit of sadness. It can be said that the play of the actors was one of the most successful challenges performed in front of the camera. They lived in the seventeenth century, talking and feeling everything as naturally as if they had been born around that time. The humour mostly gentle, sometimes cruel, described and criticised perfectly every aspect of the complicated society, the naïve King and the women who had secret love affairs. It

It has a department of Ethnography. This collection is so vast that only a very small percentage of it is on show to the public. There's also a department of prints and drawings. There're departments devoted to maps, coins, medals and philately. Those who come to the British museum can see a fascinating array of clocks and watches. Cultural life of London would be impossible without the Royal Albert hall, the Royal Festival hall, the National theatre and a great number of museums: the Victoria and Albert museum, the Geological Museum, the Museum of Mankind, Natural history museum and others.

our living rooms. It gives people an opportunity to be well-informed by watching documentaries, science programmes, panel discussions and so on. Television provides great opportunities for education. With the help of TV it is possible to study foreign languages, to learn a lot of amazing things. At the same time there are many arguments against TV. Accessing watching has a bad effect on the eyes. Today a lot of people have become TV-addicts, in other words couch potatoes. Instead of going to a theatre or reading books mankind prefer to watch TV. But still, television plays a very important role in peoples life in spite of the rise of the Internet & other high-technology sources of information. So today mass media offers us a great variety to choose from. There are many educational, political & entertainment programmes, so everyone can find what to listen to, to read or to watch.

Sydney Opera house

Sydney ooperiteater (Sydney Opera house) Anette Steinberg Sydney ooperiteater on 20. Sajandi üks kuulsamaid hooneid kogu maailmas, tegemist on modernistliku ekspressionistliku ehitisega. Asub Ausrtraalias, Sydney linnas Harbour’i silla läheduses.

London

until 1035, when his death resulted in a reversion to Saxon control under his pious stepson Edward the Confessor, who refounded Westminster Abbey and the adjacent Palace of Westminster. By this time, London had become the largest and most prosperous city in England, although the official seat of government was still at Winchester. In the 16th century William Shakespeare and his contemporaries lived in London at a time of hostility to the development of the theatre. London was plagued by disease in the early 17th century, culminating in the Great Plague of 16651666, which killed up to 100,000 people or a fifth of the population. The Great Fire of London broke out in City and quickly swept through the wooden buildings. London was the world's largest city from about 1831 to 1925. Immediately after the World War II , the 1948 Summer Olympics were held at the original Wembley Stadium, at a time when the city had barely recovered from the war.

He told Dorian that youth is the most relevant in life and that everyone should enjoy it. Basil knew that Harry wouldn't be good influence for young boy, but he wasn't able to prevent their encounter. Over time Harry's ideas fix in Dorian's mind and he changes into someone that he was not like before. When his first love, Sibyl Vane, who was an actress in a cheap theatre, disappoints him, he is very callous towards her which breaks the girl's heart and she commits suicide. Her death touches him only for couple of hours which shows that he has become a heartless person. After this incident Dorian notices that his portrait has changed. He hides it to a room and locks the door. Dorian's morals perish with each next day. He goes to poor and filthy places in London, has very destructive influence on his friends and doesn't value anything

Skrillex vs Mozart

I am the world's greatest composer! No one knows what you are! Except a lonely little troll who knows how to press a spacebar! [Skrillex:] I attack! You decay! Can't sustain my releases! Sidechain, Wolfgang, Bangarang you to pieces I'm a selfmade man, you're a slave to your papa! I'm a rrrrock star, mix it with the bass and drop ya! Global! My strobes glow like Chernobyl! Kids explode and get mobile! No one even knows you! I make the whole world move! You play community theatre! I gained your same fame from home on a blown out speaker! [Mozart:] Oh yes, I've heard that EP, and see I transcribed it here Tell me, what comes after the 68th measure of diarrhea? And what kind of drugs does it take to enjoy this? I've no idea! I've seen more complexity in a couch from IKEA You go from piano to fortississimo, that means soft to very very loud, Cause I'm guessing that you didn't know! Why don't you put down your Cubase & pick up a real bow?

The West End of London

Most of London's best residential and commercial areas are in the West End. You can find there expensive shops, restaurants, hotels, museums and many art galleries. Great Britain's biggest department store is in Knightsbridge. It was founded in 1834 by Charles Henry Harrod. Harrods is also the world's first building with an escalator. Today Harrods is an amazing place with over 330 shops, which includes twenty-six fine eating places, where you can go eat, when hungry. London is the theatre capital of the world and most of its best theatres are in the West End. There are always many fine plays and musicals to see. Piccadilly Circus is a big public space built in 1819. The word 'circus' here comes from the Latin word circle, which means a big open space where people can meet. Young people like to sit and relax there. The god of love, known as Eros, has its own memorial fountain there. Soho is an area north of Piccadilly Cirucus near Oxford Street. It attracted many

Charles Spencer Chaplin

His early years at his home in South London passed in great poverty. For a time he was cared for in an orphanage. He received very little schooling. At an early age he appeared on the music hall stage with his father and brother taking small parts in vaudeville. At the circus Charles admired the art of the clown called Rabbit. Before meeting him Charles had never thought of becoming a comic actor. After a short experience at the theatre he re-entered vaudeville in London as a member of the Fred Karno company. The Fred Karno pantomime troupe gave comic shows. Chaplin himself said that he would never have achieved success in pantomime without the art of mimicry he had learnt from his mother. His first picture was made in 1913. Charlie put on old baggy trousers, a tight jacket, enormously large shoes and a small bowler hat. He also had a small mustache and a cane

roles perfectly and I doubt there are many actors who could have done better job. The plot was built up well, it was so interesting and it just kept you stuck in the movie without even letting you loose for a minute. Scenery, clothing and all that background activity suited perfectly for the 16'th century when it all took place. And definitely have to mention the witty humor , for example when Will was fighting with Lord Wessex in theatre and he fell down from stage in a real funny way hitting his head on stage. I would definitely suggest watching this movie, because I personally must say that I absolutely loved every minute of it.
