That book was to give William huge authority in England. William I ordered that a book be made containing information on who owned what throughout the country. In all months of the hibernating season of 2008/2009 majority of bats used open position to hibernate in all tunnels examined. Comparing wintering periods of 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 the biggest difference was found to be in the abundance of the species Plecotus auritus. In 2008/2009 the survey results showed a difference of 40 specimens of Plecotus auritus comparing to the previous season. By analyzes it was found out, that the abundance of bats changes monthly during the hibernation period in both periods compared. In the beginning (during months March and April) and in the end (during months October and November) of the hibernating season the numbers of bats were smaller. The abundance of bats was growing in the middle of the hibernating season.

The researching questions in the second part of the paper are answered on the basis of the research results. The research questions were: 69 1.
