Bees

BEES Bees are flying insects closely related to wasps and ants. There are nearly 20,000 known species of bee, in nine recognized families, though many are undescribed and the actual number is probably higher. They are found on every continent except Antarctica, in every habitat on the planet that contains insect-pollinated flowering plants. Bees are adapted for feeding on nectar and pollen, the former primarily as an energy source, and the latter primarily for protein and other nutrients. Most pollen is used as food for larvae. Bees have a long proboscis (a complex "tongue") that enables them to obtain the nectar from flowers. They have antennae almost universally made up of 13 segments in males and 12 in females, as is typical for the superfamily. Bees all have two pairs of wings, the hind pair being the smaller of the two; in a very few species, one sex or caste has relatively short wings tha...

1.1 Yes/No Questions Do you believe in horoscopes? Do you believe in a God who rewards good and punishes wrong-doing? Do you think we should be tougher on crime? Do you think we should maintain our traditions or make way for change? Do you think the Government should act to curb the power of media barons....? Do you think everybody should be trained to use computers? Do you think that public sector workers such as teachers, doctors, nurses and fire fighters should be allowed to strike? Do you think that the young have anything to learn from the elderly and vice versa? Would you consider sending your child to a grammar school? Would you ever consider taking out private health insurance? 1.2 OR Questions Are you for or against self-sufficiency? Would you prefer your child to be educated privately or by the state?

Essee "Teenager and pocket money"

Should teenagers nowadays earn their pocket money. Many children earn their pocket money by doing some jobs at home, but lots of them do not need to work for it. I think that it depends on the specific children whether his/her parents should pay him/her. My parents do not give me money for bringing firewood or mowing the lawn. They have never paid me for such jobs and I think I would feel rather bad if they did. I have understood that I need these domestic jobs done as much as everybody else in my family. My mother doesn't get paid for feeding me, so why should I be better than her. I know a family where one of the children gets paid for simple domestic jobs and the other does not. It seems unfair to me. On the other hand, I find that getting paid for chores could be rather good motivator for younger kids. In the world full of

Capital Punishment Should Be Abolished

The main con of the capital punishment is that if the person actually didn't commit the crime, he or she was punished for, will die as innocent. Nobody can wake him or her up again, after that punishment. Second con is the question of humanity. A lot of countries think that killing the people is inhuman and therefore have abolished the capital punishment. Third con is that the person will just die, not get the actual punishment. Maybe lifetime prisonment would be better for such person, because then he/she will suffer more instead of just dying. So in my opinion although the capital punishment has it's pros and cons, it should be abolished, because the people, who get prisonment, will actually suffer more than they would for just dying.

there should be a part fot history is for people to understand the school's motto and ethics better. Other Schools in the Area In my opinion, other schools in the area should also be noted because it shows the good location of this school. Having other good and wealthy schools in the area, gives us the possibility to show us from the same side. School Activities In addition to these, we should mention the different activities that we have in our school. We should mention activities such as Playbox- a very successful dancing competition that we organize every year, Photocontest- a contest where it is possible for students use their creativity and express their feelings and thoughts through photographs, and all the other activities and projects that our school takes part in. We could also mention the SmartBoards that help teachers to make their lessons more interesting and where it is even possible to watch necessary movies referring to the subject. Conclusion

Of monsters and men

Before Of Monsters and Men had been established, Nanna had a solo musical project called Songbird and was a video store clerk. The two sing about an epic battle between birds and bees, wolves running with the wind in the dark, and a whale--with a house on his back--who gives people rides across the ocean. Ghosts, mythic kings and magical monsters are more to Raggi's liking. He has filled the band's debut album, My Head Is an Animal, with such mystical things. Trumpeter, Ragnhildur Gunnarsdóttir, joined in the 2012 tour, and is simply a session player. The band has not commented on interest to eventually bring her into the band. Albums Debut album : My head is an animal , released: September 20, 2011 (Iceland): "Little Talks" "Dirty Paws" "Mountain Sound" "King And Lionheart" EP Into the woods, released: December 20, 2011 (United States) - An extended play (or EP) is a

Truth or Dare ?

" If the queried player answers, "truth," then the questioning player asks a question, usually embarrassing, of the queried player. If the queried player answers, "dare," then the questioning player asks the queried to do something, also usually embarrassing. After answering the question or doing the dare, the queried player asks "truth or dare?" of another player and the game proceeds as before. The game may be expanded upon by adding additional options to choose from, such as making the dare apply to both the questioner and the queried, or incorporating Spin the Bottle to select the next person to be asked; this results in many different "variants" of the game, limited only by the players' creativity. The game's title is sometimes extended to reflect additional options, for example: "truth, dare, double-dare, kiss, torture or promise". When double-dare is chosen, the person chosen is

The good and bad points of being rich and famous

Also they don't have to worry about their future. They can do whatever they are pleased to. Travel wherever they want, live wherever, eat and buy whatever they want. Secondly, if you are young and your parents are rich you can start using the advantages of being rich already as a kid. For example you can go to a private school or even to a private kindergarten. On the other hand , their wealth and fame make their life stressful. Moreover , it makes people jealous and hateful. Such people find it difficult to make true friends and maintain relationships long-distance. People around them look only to benefit from their fame and fortune, or socialize with them just because they are equally rich. Family is often not there, or children and parents just live a different life. They also don't have privacy - press is looking at the famous people all the time. There are both positive and negative aspects of money and fame, but most important is how people react to it and use it

A day to remember

my aunt left me in the classroom and drove to the house. I felt my heart sink as I saw go but I soon began to feel better.the times passed quickly and I started making new friends so I began loving the school. However even today, when I think of my first day at school 1 remember the fear that I had and how my teacher and my friends helped me to overcome this feeling. My memories of the first day at school haunt me till today. Never again have I experienced such a mixture of strange feelings. The anxiety of being in school along with the excitement of making new friends- all these made my first day at school most memorable and I long for the innocence and fun that was common among me and my friends.

Animals shrinking in the heat

Animals shrinking in the heat This article was published in Daily mail, on 17 October 2011. The author of the article is Tamara Cohen. The article discusses about animals who are shrinking due to global warming. Scientist have warned, that animals such as sheep, deer, birds and reptiles are shrinking due to climate change. Researchers say warmer temperatures over the past few years have made some animals adapt to need less body fat to survive while others are struggling for food. In the next few decades, some types of mammals, fish, birds and plants are getting smaller and evolve into miniature versions of what they are today. This could force some creatures, that people eat, to become extinct,

The Advantages and Disadvanatges of Having a Part Time Job

The Advantages and Disadvanatges of Having a Part-Time Job During Studies. Many students work while attending school for many different reasons. It can be difficult to balance work and school, but it can certainly be done. Actually, there are many advantages such as earning money,a new experience and development of the organization skills. However, you should take into account some disadvantages, for instance, the lack of time and stress. Generally speaking, students can benefit a lot from part-time jobs. The first advantage is that students can earn money. Earning money by themselves is good way to learn how to be independent. Students don't have to ask money from the parents and they can see that earning money is not so easy.

Nothing can be done to prevent crime

Our world is well known by having a high level of poverty and all sorts of crimes. This is a consequence of bad governments that hav not provided the least welfare throughout the centuries. So, i agree with that statement. However, in my opinion our goverment has been doing some progress regarding crime prevention and social development. In its turn, even in a decent society no lacking primary needs there will be another kind of crimes, apparently harmless, such as: political corruption, bribery, money laundering, extortion, etc. The environment can change, but the mindset is still the same with tendency to ambition, greed and selfishness. Therefore, we prevent crimes not by kitting ourselves out in high-tech weapons or an efficient secret service, but by creating a whole environment that allows a definite change in our mind.

Fundamental law doesn´t exist in the United Kingdom. There can be distinguish three separate organs: the legislature, the executive and the judiciary. Parliament, the law-making body, consists of three elements: the Monarchy, the House of Commons and the House of Lords. They meet together only on occasions of ceremonial significance, such as the state opening of Parliament. The Monarch's principle function is to carry out certain ceremonial duties. The Queen is regarded as national symbol and also as a symbol of the unity of the Commonwealth. The British monarch must be Protestant. The House of Commons consists of 650 elected members, called Members of Parliament. Its main purpose is to make laws by passing Acts of Parliament, as well as to discuss current political issues.

near future become a wealthy free market democracy and a full member of the European and Euro-Atlantic communities. Ukraine never fulfilled those expectations. Instead, it is seen as an underachiever, sometimes as a sick man of Europe, and perhaps even as a potentially failed state thanks to its geopolitical situation, historical burdens, and the mistakes made in institutional development and policy. Economically, Ukraine has grown along with the region. As such, growth rates have not been low, but they come after the economically devastating 1990s and are not built on a 6 sustainable foundation. For years Russia provided Ukraine with underpriced gas while Ukraine's export prices increased rapidly. Over the decades Ukraine, however, grew dependent on oil and gas coming from Russia, at almost no cost. Today, 70 percent of gas consumed in the country is imported.

colonies and across Europe. Main Ideas of the American Enlightenment: The Enlightenment caused a shift in the cultural and social attitudes of the people, bringing in some new and radical ideas. Republicanism: The doctrine of republicanism asserts a system of a government that is elected by the people of the nation. The roots of this ideology go back to ancient Greece, when the concept of a democratic government was examined by philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle. Individual Liberty: "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness" developed as the motto of this era, which forms the cornerstone of the U.S. Constitution today. Since the colonies had very few individual rights, they declared certain fundamental rights that they deemed "inalienable." Democracy: The colonies had no say in the formation of the government, and had no representation in the lawmaking process

Report to the Board of Governors

Report to the Board of Governors. Introduction The main principal aim of this report is to describe a fund-raising day organised for disadvantaged children and to make some recommendations for the next year. Methods of fund raising Our charity organisation has been going in for collecting money to support disadvantaged children in Britain already for seven years. There are some verified ways to collect money, such as a street collection, house-to-house collection and jumble sales. A large amount of money was raised by the house-to house collection. It`s about a 40% of the whole money we got for these children. Also income from the street collection is really nice as well 30%. So, a 20% of the pie chart I made takes the jumble sale and 10% - other ways of collecting money. Overview This year it was decided to organise a fund-raising day for the charity. It was the nice and cheerful time

Should the monarchy be abolished

The most recent nation to abolish its monarchy was Nepal, which became a republic in this year, on May 28. Currently 44 nations in the world have monarchs as heads of state, 16 of which are Commonwealth realms that recognize Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom as head of state. After commonwealth realm there are some more types of monarchy: constitutional, semi- constitutional, absolute and subnational monarchies. Many nations formerly with absolute monarchies, such as Morocco, have moved towards constitutional monarchies, although the monarch retains tremendous power. Among the few states that give the monarch claimed full power (both head of state and government) are Brunei, and Saudi Arabia. Should we support other countries to abolishing the monarchy? This is not a yes or no question. Throughout history monarchies have been abolished either through legislative reforms, a coup (a coup d'etat), or wars.

The noise of cars.. the noise of humans, expecialli their laughing makes me a little happier everytime when I hear it. There're such beautiful voices. Sometimes we just must stand quiet in center on those voices, and catch their message. Music tells us stories wich were never known. Nowadays young people hear music on MP3. They're like in their own reality. Yes it's great to feel that, but a little bit strange, because when somebody wants to ask something at the bus stop, they can't hear anything. Thats sad. Life in the future In the domain of technology, robots will have replaced people in factories. Many factories already use robots. Big companies prefer robots- they do not ask for pay rises or go on strike, and they work 24 hours a day. In the 2050 every human have an opportunity to go on space travel, because space travels will cost less. Even the poor people can allow this. Schooling will be much better and cheaper (in the long run) in 2050. The word ,,school" will no longer be in our vocabulary. School will be called a ,,work force". There will be no more textbooks, paper, pens or pencils. Everything will be done electronically. Classes will be conjoyned together such as, English and History, Math and Science, etc. School will be more interesting and fun, plus school days will be shorter. I don't eat jam at breakfast, I eat marmalade which is not sweet, there is slight bitterness; it's rather pleasant for my taste. I usually don't have substantial breakfast on weekdays; I do it on weekends when I get up late. Very often I have just some tea or coffee with sandwiches. Tea is usually taken by me with milk. I also like very strong tea without sugar. Sometimes, when I am in a hurry, I don't have time to have proper breakfast and I go to school being hungry. In such case I usually buy something like "Snickers" or "Mars" on my way to school. Why do people have pets?

Why do people have pets? How often did we go to a friend's house and a lovely dog or cat comes to welcome us? Really often. Nowadays the most part of people keeps a pet at home. According to the common thought, people decide to keep pets for many reasons. Firstly, a lot of old people keeps a pet at home to feel less lonely and to have a companion in their everyday life. Pets keeps occupied a lot of time of their days, doing things such as taking the pet out for a walk or play with them. Moreover, families too choose to have a pet in their lives for many reasons, for instance having their baby feel a lot more confident with animals. Historians don't know for sure when humans started keeping pets. Dogs were one of the first animals domesticated by humans and have been domesticated for some 10,000 years. Mass tourism

places all over the world every single day but mass tourism has many disadvantages and fortunately some advantages too. The most important advantages of mass tourism are the financial profits. Thanks to tourism local people are employed in various kind of companies which are connected with tourists and their attractions. Local people also get more options how to be more successful in making money because in popular tourist areas they can start their own business, such as, shops, cafes, pubs, hotels, tent camps and so on. In addition, thanks to the money spent by tourists, local authorities have funds to maintain different buildings and places like, for example, libraries or parks and to restore monuments and other objects of histoical value. An additional advantage of mass tourism is mixing of cultures and habits, for example, many different food cultures and clothing styles are spreading all over the world.

The greatest disadvantage of fast food is the adverse effect. It is a fact that fast food is more unhealthy than homecooked meals, as they contain higher amounts of salt, fats and calories. The greater the number of people at a meal in a fast food restaurant, the larger is the bill. Eating at fast food outlets is economical only for a single person. Going out to a fast food eating joint with family once in a while won't matter much. However, frequent visits to such restaurants with one's family can become quite an expensive affair, besides being unhealthy. Companies food being served fast and right in front of us is like a blessing after a hard day's work. The most common European squirrels are red or brown color, while common American squirrels are grey or black. The tail is long and typically very-very bushy. Squirrels weight between 14 gramms and 1 kilo. The tiniest squirrel is only thirteen centimeters long from nose to tail, but the Indian giant squirrel is almost a meter long. Squirrels are commonly seen everywhere from woodlands to city parks. Though they are terrific climbers, squirrels do come to the ground in search of food such as nuts, acorns, berries, and flowers. They also eat bark, eggs, or baby birds. Some of the species hibernate and some don’t. Squirrels can live 5 to 10 years in the wild. Some can survive 10 to 20 years in captivity.

Fifty years from now, life will be much easier and healthier for odrinary people than it is today

Like in the movie ,,I,Robot".People will improve technology so fast that they will make mistakese mistakse that might kill human race. They might build robots so advance that we won't be able to control them anymore. Also there is the ,,Clobal Warming" people are talking about. The world will run out of water. People will die in thirst. Waters price will be higher than a kg of gold. On the other hand when people will devide in two diffrent groups there won't be such a massive robot producing. And robots are not the only good improvment in technology. The scientists might come up with a new source of enegry, maybe in fifty years time we will be able to control lightning and get electricity from it ? I can't say that the climate will not get warmer in fifty years, but that is natural The world has had five Ice ages. The cilmate changes all the time, there are warmer periodes and colder periodes.

Cruelly, the systems usually fade away for several hours or even a day or two, tricking the victim into thinking that they are recovering. When in due course the symptoms return with a vengeance, it may be too late: kidney and liver damage are already well underway. Without treatment, coma and eventual death are almost inevitable. Capital punishment (essay)

mercy, but there are also people who think that violating the rights of fellow members of the community, particularly if it happens consistently, should be punished as severely as the death sentence. Most Christians are firmly against capital punishment, because they believe that there is some good in every person, even if he does not show any regret for what he has done. Not all people are as mature as to have such forgiveness in them. On the other hand this type of forgiveness cannot be a groundsel for the larger community, because it requires that you should really know the person that is in question. The Gallup Death Penalty Poll has shown that in the year 2008 64% of Americans were in favour of the death penalty and 30% were against it. The results have mostly stayed the same over the years. Although, if the question was to choose between the death penalty or life

If I Were a Minister of Education

If I Were a Minister of Education In the last five years we have witnessed several changes in the education system. Although some people find it useful and needed, others find it tragic. What has changed and what would I do to make school a better place? Firstly, there are several things that has been changed in the last few years, such as financing vocational schools. Students of vocational schools get paid for good grades and in some schools even for attending school. Even dorms are paid for students. That is true, we have a chance of getting a little scholarship in high schools, if we graduate with a medal, but it is times and times harder to achieve. In fact government has started to close high schools because they think that there are too many of them

Designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon. Planning began in the late 1940s, when Eugene Goossens lobbied for a suitable venue for large theatrical productions. The normal venue for such productions was not considered large enough. By 1954, Goossens succeeded in gaining the support of Joseph Cahill, who called for designs for a dedicated opera house. Joseph Cahill launched a design competition on 13 September 1955 and recieved 233 entries. The criteria specified a large hall seating 3,000 and a small hall for 1,200 people, each to be designed for different uses. The winner, announced in 1957, was Jørn Utzon, a Danish architect. Marxism

they have created. 2. Against exploitation of workers which basically means that workers labour is resold at a higher price than he gets paid for it. 3. Classless society which means that everyone is equal in a basic sense as a member of the tribe and the different functional assignments of the primitive mode of production, howsoever rigid and stratified they might be, did not and could not, simply because of the numbers, produce a class society as such.  Why to be against Marxism? 1. Marxism removes incentive, with the slogan “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need” which implies that you should only get what you need, regardless of productivity or skill, which discourages people from working hard, forces production to fall, which reduces wealth, and ultimately societal wellbeing. 2. Equality of outcome would stop productive people from being able to produce as much as
