Pride and Prejudice Book Report

by a distant cousin if Mr. Bennet dies. When the wealthy bachelor Mr. Bingley and his best friend Mr. Darcy arrive in town to spend the summer in a mansion nearby their property, the shy and beautiful Jane falls in love with Mr. Bingley. Lizzie finds Mr. Darcy an arrogant and proud man, and she swears to loathe him forever. This is the beginning of their wonderful love story. My opinion: I found the book quite interesting, not as good as I had expected or hoped, but still something different from the usual books I read. It is a classical love story, how a man and a woman at first loath each other and later on fall in love. But it can be said that it is a quite women- dominating story, as it shows women having power, although little, but still- and how it was uncommon those days to praise women in literature. Women are desperate to find a man to marry, especially a rich man, then they submit to their husbands, if not they are off to find a new one.

What is the best age to be?

You have accomplished something- raised successful human beings and now you can raise your grandchildren and be the leader of a family. Up to 70 you are doing crosswords, reading books and waiting the moment that you will see god face to face. You have got degrees, good jobs and then it is time for oneself. Every age is unique and special, because of that I think that there is not a best age. In every day of your life you accomplish something that makes this day memorable. Developmental changes in life all play a significant role to make us who we shall become in each period of our lifelong human growth process. Because of changes in life we are the people that we are today. Every age is the best to be.

The Way Home

At the time she agreed, it just began her betrayal and she didn't know how to stop it. Remembering her childhood, she was very frighten about her mom's betrayal and ran away in a long distance from home. And now, she was going home, she was beginning to believe that only her journey home would help her to bring her betrayal to an end...... Betrayal could happen so easily, that's why more and more people have extramarital relations recently. But, it's really hard to find something that good, and really easy to lose it. Just consider pro and con, and then keep what you really love. However, distance makes everything clearer; you can only see the whole when you are far enough. Take Alex for an example, as she had travelled ever further outwards, she found the answer. The Nature of Truth: Annie was a successful author and she met an old friend, Jane, on the train. Things change a lot, even if you had settled down. Jane had the boyfriend in

Õigusfilosoofia

Materialist concept of life starts with production of life to support human life and every living thing on the planet. Everything else we see is created by us, but also provided for us by materialistic matter in a philosophical sense. Emotions and relationships can also be explained through materialistic world of view, for example love means to value flowers, chocolate and other nice or expensive things. Idealism on the contrary is a metaphysical doctrine that explains the existence of something greater than us or that everything around is created by a spirit of some sort. We can not comprehend these higher powers. It affirms and prioritizes ideals or ideas and that reality is mental. Spirit is the essence of being and human. Although the physical human body or life among us can deteriorate, the spirit of it is infinite and by understanding that we can be united with the universe or even comprehend it’s existence. Both of these philosophical schools have truth in them in my eyes

For example users can log into their instagram account using facebook, or logging to Spotify for example. This has enabled easier account creation. Also it has become easier to post some things to the feed. When listening something in Spotify, when enabled, the song information will be provided to Facebook and then everyone can see what others have listened to. Same goes to Instagram. When posting image or video (now also gallery), it can be automatically shared in Facebook feed. This kind of cross- platform sharing has defenitely made managing life in social media easier, but is it safe aswell? More link between applications could mean more weaks points. Children show 'proactive' kindness, unlike our close relatives (Credit: Thinkstock) Children show 'proactive' kindness, unlike our close relatives (Credit: Thinkstock) We know that chimpanzees also work together and share food in apparently unselfish ways. However, Michael Tomasello of the Max Planck institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, says they will only cooperate if there is something in it for them. "Humans do that too, but in addition they care about what their partner gets. In some experiments we have children as young as 14-18 months who seem to expect their partner to collaborate in certain ways and who share in ways chimps don't." Human children are less selective about who they share with. Chimpanzees though, largely only share with close relatives, reciprocating partners or potential mates.

Apperances are deceitful!

jealous as usual. Pretty face and nice figure can also be used. There's nothing bad in it, of course. We see famous movie stars and celebrities doing it every day. The story is totally different in everyday life. People who are attractive get used to the attention and admiration. They get proud and think that everything that they reach is due to the way they look. People who are attractive use their looks to get a job, to be promoted, to be excused from doing something they don't want to. The atmosphere around them can not be ruined in any way. Once the reputation is ruined, nice looks will not help any more for they don't matter from no on. But there are people who are equally pretty inside and outside. Such people are pride of the society and are respected greatly. Every one of us knows a lot of examples of above described phenomenon; there's no need to do it here. It is quite possible that people can change so appearances won't matter anymore. The

Mardi Gras

. The Grand Duke Alexis was surprised and honored to sit on the float and play the role of Rex. Alexis and Lydia, her loved one whom he had fallowed to New Orleans, probably never even met, but they began a tradition. Rex and his queen are chosen each year to ride on the largest float. They are masked and in costume. Those around the royalty, called "maskers," toss "throw- outs" to the crowd in response to the traditional cry, "Throw me something mister!" The "throw-outs" are large tin coins, plastic beads and other trinkets. Colours The traditional colors of Mardi Gras are purple, green, and gold. These colors are said to have been chosen by Grand Duke Alexis Romanoff Alexandrovitch. For the Grand Duke, the decision was simple, and true to his noble roots, he selected the official colors of the House of Romanov(the second and last imperial dynasty of Russia). Later the colours got their meanings: purple-

He was passionate about his job because he did a little model on the ground of the Cape Horn when Orlando asked about it and told stories that had happened during his travels. At the same time, Shel was afraid of the wind change because it meant he had to choose between the woman he loved and his duty as a seaman. When Orlando said that she loved Shel, they discovered something at the same time. He comprehended that Orlando was a man and Orlando realized that Shel was a woman. He could not believe that Orlando was a woman because she was ,,as tolerant and free-spoken as a man" and Orlando was astonished because Shel was ,,as strange and subtle as a woman". Surprisingly their relationship did not get weird after that, on the contrary they got along even better and understood each other perfectly. To Be Human Is To Discuss

To Be Human Is To Discuss Why My Speech Is So Short Most of the students complain about their timetable. Usually they are just fine, but the grass is always greener somewhere else, am I right? But for me and my class, it's a different story. The grass really is greener anywhere else, actually. Why do we go to school? Do we actually want to learn? I think not. Maybe on some level, until fourth grade or something like that, but most of us are in high school to get good grades, so that parents don't kick us out and still give us food and shelter. How to motivate ourselves to come here every single morning and really study, not just sit with your phone out and watch videos or do something not related to studying to keep from dying of boredom? I think that the main reason students skip class is that they just don't want to sit around for 45 minutes

Questions : "tag" questions You speak English, don't you? A tag question is a special construction in English. It is a statement followed by a mini-question. The whole sentence is a "tag question", and the mini-question at the end is called a "question tag". We use tag questions at the end of statements to ask for confirmation. They mean something like: "Am I right?" or "Do you agree?" They are very common in English. The basic structure is: + - Positive statement, negative tag? London eye

It was on their kitchen table in South London in 1993 that the first drawings of the London Eye were made. The creators in question are husband and wife architects David Marks and Julia Barfield. The couple had entered a competition to design a millennium landmark. No one won, and the competition was scrapped, but the couple were convinced that their dream should be pursued. As Julia Barfield says: 'From the beginning we wanted to create something uplifting - something that would delight...'. David and Julia began to piece the project together, soon attracting the attention of the London press. Then British Airways showed an interest and became a partner. 'As the project developed,' says David Marks, 'everyone was inspired with one objective - to create an exciting new way to see and understand one of the greatest cities on earth.' A design, construction and logistics challenge Soon, everyone realised the sheer scale of what they were attempting

Internet piracy

2 distributors from the law? These questions are just a couple of the many that arise and are argued by advocates and opponents alike. Advocates of file sharing also support the notion that internet piracy has no economic impact and if it does, the impact is insignificant and can be easily defended. File sharers rationalize their actions based on the argument that they "would not have purchased the content anyway." In addition, it is argued that freely obtaining a digital copy of something does not have any impact because a tangible, physical item is not being stolen. Thus, it is a seemingly victimless crime. Last, file sharers argue that the content that they are freely stealing is not worth the price. Perhaps they consider a certain piece of software, for example, to be poorly written. Supporters profess that software companies should be penalized for distributing low quality software with what they consider high price tags

TWILIGHT-CHAPTER TWO-OPEN BOOK

Summary: It's Bella's second day at her new school and while it is a better day in some ways, in others it is much worse. Mike continues to be very friendly, much to Eric's displeasure, which Bella finds flattering, however, she is not interested in Mike and realises she will have to do something about his over-friendly behaviour. Bella is also feeling more confident because she recognises more faces and people are looking at her less than the day before something that, for Bella, is very important. Her day gets worse when she gives the wrong answer in Trig and has to play Volley-ball ending up hitting her team mate on the head with the ball giving us further proof of her clumsy nature. However, the worst part of this second day is that Edward Cullen is not in school and for some reason Bella can't stop thinking about him and his behaviour of the previous day. She feels nervous and uncomfortable, waiting to see if he is in school

George Orwell "Animal Farm" essay - "Human nature exposed in the novel"

more absurd. The best example would be lying. In "Animal Farm" Napoleon gradually started inventing more and more lies, which would justify and explain his decisions and acts. The pigs started altering the Seven Commandements for their own well-being. They changed them to make their life more enjoyable and comfortable. It's also in humans' nature to tell lies just to inluence other's opinions, to make them look good in someone's eyes or just because telling others something they want to hear or believe grows a certain kind of respect and belief in people. Another technique Napoleon used to increase his power over other animals was telling bizarre and libellous stories of Snowball. This motivated other animals to work harder and as a unit against Snowball. This brainwash is something people tend to do, not only in politics, but also in everyday life. They come up with a specific goal that everyone pursues so they would get people's support, respect and commitment.

better choice for her. It seems criminally selfish to him to allow her to become a vampire (and possibly lose her soul) just so he can keep her forever. If there were any way for him to become human for her he'd do it, whatever the cost. To Bella's horror, Edward then asks Bella why she won't marry him. After many evasions, she admits that she finds the idea of getting married straight out of high school embarrassing and ridiculous. It's just not something intelligent, responsible girls of her generation do. Edward is surprised by her answer -- and relieved. It never occurred to him that her reservations might be about marriage itself. When he admits to worrying that perhaps she was more interested in immortality than in him, it's Bella's turn to laugh, assuring him that without him, she wouldn't want to live even a day, let alone eternity. Reassured, Edward tells Bella that he understands her qualms about marriage; but he asks her

Letter of complaint

29 September 2008 Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to inform you that you have made many mistakes in the article 'Student Slaves at Workcamp'. I explain each of the mistakes below. Firstly, you described the camp as something extremely dreadful, although there was very fun and the atmosphere was great. Secondly, you claimed that at the camp were 30 students, but actually there were only 15 of us, maybe even less. The final point I want to make concerns accommodation. We did not spend the nights in old tents. All of us slept in modern, wooden buildings with many more showers than you claimed to be there. Could I please ask you to look into these matters. I would like to see
