The gamecock clipt and arm'd for fight Does the rising sun affright. Every wolf's and lion's howl Raises from hell a human soul. The wild deer, wand'ring here and there, Keeps the human soul from care. The lamb misus'd breeds public strife, And yet forgives the butcher's knife. The bat that flits at close of eve Has left the brain that won't believe. The owl that calls upon the night Speaks the unbeliever's fright. He who shall hurt the little wren Shall never be belov'd by men. He who the ox to wrath has mov'd Shall never be by woman lov'd. The wanton boy that kills the fly Shall feel the spider's enmity. He who torments the chafer's sprite Weaves a bower in endless night. The caterpillar on the leaf Repeats to thee thy mother's grief. Why do we learn the English language?

Why we learn the english language? It is necessary to learn foreign languages. That´s why the pupils have such subjects as a foreign language at school. Everybody knows his own language, but it is useful to know foreign languages. I learn English, because I understand that I can use it. For example, if I go to England I shall be able to speak English there. If I go to the USA, I shall speak English too, because English is used not only in England, but also in other parts of the world. I leran English because I want to read foreign literature in the original. I know and like such English as Ch.Dickens, M.Twain, L.Carroll and others. I understand that I must learn English. If I know English well, shall be able to go to the library and take books by English and American writers in the original. I like to travel

Characteristics of Modal Verbs • There is no -s in the third person singular: She can ski. He must be tired. It might rain. • They are used to form questions and negatives: Shall we go for a walk? MRS.BROWN: Well, I'm as careful as I can be. Nobody could say I'm extravagant. MR. BROWN: No; but you get things we could do without. MRS. BROWN: What do you mean? MR. BROWN: Well, what about that new dress you got last week? MRS. BROWN: I hope you don't think I bought that out of the housekeeping money. I bought that out of my dress allowance.1 Besides, I had to have it. I had hardly a rag to my back. MR. BROWN: Really? I hadn't noticed. But if you cut down your expenses we shall be better off. MRS. BROWN: It's no use talking about cutting down my expenses. I hadn't had a new dress for two years and was quite ashamed to go out. What about your expenses? Why don't you give up smoking? You spend several pounds a month on tobacco, and what is the good of it? Several pounds a month just to blow nasty smoke into the air! MR. BROWN: You know very well I have often given up smoking. The last time I did so it was you that asked me to start again. MRS. BROWN: Yes, I remember

TARTUFFE (inglise keelne)

But, sir, all the same, If I were in my son's, her husband's, place, I'd urgently entreat you not to come Within our doors. You preach a way of living That decent people cannot tolerate. I'm rather frank with you; but that's my way-- I don't mince matters, when I mean a thing. DAMIS Mr. Tartuffe, your friend, is mighty lucky . . . MADAME PERNELLE He is a holy man, and must be heeded; I can't endure, with any show of patience, To hear a scatterbrains like you attack him. DAMIS What! Shall I let a bigot criticaster Come and usurp a tyrant's power here? And shall we never dare amuse ourselves Till this fine gentleman deigns to consent? DORINE If we must hark to him, and heed his maxims, There's not a thing we do but what's a crime; He censures everything, this zealous carper. MADAME PERNELLE And all he censures is well censured, too. He wants to guide you on the way to heaven; My son should train you all to love him well. DAMIS No, madam, look you, nothing--not my father

Puritanism in John Winthrop "A model of Christian Charity"

the priority and the individual’s desires are in the background. Thus, Winthrop believed that God would bless a nation that lived in obedience to Him and His covenant, likewise God acted with Israel in the Old Testament. This previous principle was highly honored among the Puritans – they believed that every nation had to fulfill the covenant, otherwise they will fall in the eyes of God (“So that if we shall deal falsely with our God in this work we have undertaken, and so cause Him to withdraw”)( Winthrop, 1996) Thinking they were the elected spirits for the God, they needed to prevent future settlers of Massachusetts to be as same gracious, charitable and religious as them. One thing worth mentioning is the notice that Winthrop doesn’t talk about private institutions at all. This is something very similar to other Puritans – they negated this concept because of Stuart corruption

Idealization of nature in Romantic poetry

that might influence their way of acting. Nature provides the ideal atmosphere and surroundings to do this in the opinion of romantic poets, it is the very best place to come to when in need of solitude or an answer to personal or social conflicts. It is far from civilization, everything is pure, primitive, simple, untouched by man. This can be seen in Coleridge's "To Nature" (see below), where the author "builds his altar in the fields and the blue sky shall be his fretted dome". Romantic poets often expand upon this idea of nature providing a tranquil environment by actually bringing it to life and making it into something capable of having plans, ideas and actions. Nature can therefore not only create the place, but also perform certain actions, like dancing, breathing, thinking, planning, all to help the person in search of himself feel more in touch with nature by giving them a sense of company, a feeling that they are not alone but

Martin Luther King Jr. ''I have a dream'' kõne analüüs

Banner’’. By including this phrase throughout the speech, along with the entire first verse, Martin Luther King attempts to unite the people with a common dream of freedom by using an inspirational lyric that is well known across America. Repeating such phrases makes the speech more memorable and compelling. The use of symbolism is also prevalent throughout this speech. This can easily be seen in the following sentence: ‘’I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight’’. Martin Luther King uses the valleys, hills, mountains and rough places to symbolically represent racial inequalities and hardships across the land that must be corrected. The distance between the low and high points represents the equality gap that he wishes to reduce. He conveys this by stating they "shall be exalted", "made low" and

Tõlkimine müügitöö

The relationship is important to you, and them making a wrong decision now would affect the chances of making sales in the future. You do not need to make the sale today (for example you have made your quota and this sale would be just fine for next month). Combine this with setting up the next meeting, when perhaps you will be able to solidly close the deal. Examples This is an important decision for you and I think you need time to consider how important it is. Shall we discuss the details further next time I see you? I can see you're thinking very carefully about this. Shall I come back next week to see how you are progressing then? How it works In many sales situations the relationship is very important as the sales person will be going back to the customer with more sales to make. It is thus a bad idea to push them into a decision when they are not ready and may later be unhappy about this.
