Law of Diminishing Returns

What is the law of diminishing returns? Why this proposition is called a "law"? It states that, at some point- when we add more variable input to a fixed input- our marginal product will start to decrease as the newly added variable input is being added to an already increasingly scares input. This can be explained by citing an example, if we add more workers to a job, such as assembling a car. At some point, adding more workers would cause problems, as they would be getting in each other's way, or workers wold often find themselves waiting for access to specific part or tool required for the job. This proposition is called a law because it is standardized and applicable on all the production processes. Any manufacturing and production company can use this proposition (or Law) to their betterment. Is Tony right in his analysis of the situation? Explain. According to my point of view, Tony's decision of increasing the price a g...

One day, Mr. Earnshaw goes to Liverpool and returns home with an orphan boy whom he will raise with his own children. Eclipse chapter10(Scent)-kokkuvõte

When Jacob gets there, Bella finds him wearing only his cut off jeans, and she is slightly put off by the fact that he always seems half naked. Jacob tells her that he has to carry his clothes around with him using a strap that is wrapped around his calf. Jacob decides to get to work and asks Bella where the intruder's scent was the strongest. When she replies her bedroom, his response is similar to what Edward's had been. But Jacob goes up and inspects the area like he was asked to. When Jacob returns he says that he caught the scent. As Bella washes the dishes, Jacob begins to ask her questions about her and Edward's relationship, centering on how she feels about him being a vampire and when she is planning on being changed. The anger and sadness of her answer, and the fact that it will be so soon after graduation, causes Jacob to clench down on a knife in his hand and cut himself badly. Bella witnesses his ability to heal quickly and it leaves her astonished. Jacob invites Bella to

The conversation turns to the girls preparing for college. Angela is sad that Bella will most likely be in Alaska, and Bella feels a wave of sadness knowing she won't be able to keep in touch. Jane Eyre

Think about why certain elements of the book were excluded from the film. The notion that Edward Rochester will marry Blanche Ingram is in the book and the film. However, the scene in which Edward Rochester disguises himself as a female gypsy fortuneteller does not appear. Any attempt to recreate this scene on film would be difficult. Analyze the ending of the story. The film ends similarly to the book. Jane Eyre returns to Edward Rochester and discovers he is blind after his home has been burned and his wife is dead. She marries him. However, in the book Edward Rochester regains sight in one eye. The film therefore ends on a slightly less optimistic.

Kokkuvõte W.Brian Arthur artiklist

Kokkuvõte W.Brian Arthur. Increasing Returns and Path Dependence in the Economy. Artiklis arutleti teemal tasuvuse suurendamine ja rajasõltuvus majanduses. Tävapäraselt on majandusteooria ülesehitatud peamiselt eeldustel, et tulu väheneb. Sellised majandusmeetmed tekitavad negatiivset tagasisidet, mis omakorda stabiliseerib majandust. Negatiivse tagasiside korral (tulu vähenemisel) kaasneb majanduses mõju ühele tasakaalupunktile, kuid positiivse tagasiside puhul (tulu suurendamisel) muudab see paljusid tasakaalupunkte ehk see soodustab kõrvalekaldeid ning tulemuseks võib olla hoopis teistsugune süsteemi konfiguratsioon. Kunagi ei saa kindel olla, et erinevate majandustulemuste hulgast valitust on üks ainuke ja parim lahendus. Viimastel aastatel on majanduspoliitika teoreetikud arendanud just majandusvaadet, mis põhineb positiivsel tagasisidel. Tehnoloogiad tavaliselt paranevad, kuna inimesed ja ettevõtteid omandavad kogemusi, mis o...

Essee fast food

Many people eat fast food very often, but what is good and it's bad sides? Fast food eaters do not usually think about the different influences. More people should know about fast food. Fast food has less advantages. The most evident advantage of fast food is that it saves time. In today's fast life, there is nothing better than getting a ready meal. No matter how much the chefs praise the benefits of fresh food, at the end of a hard working day, when one returns home all tired and hungry, a pizza or a burger can be godsend. Besides the time an individual has to spend in the kitchen, cooking a meal also requires one to make a trip to the supermarket to buy the ingredients for the food. Fast food has very many disadvantages. The greatest disadvantage of fast food is the adverse effect. It is a fact that fast food is more unhealthy than homecooked meals, as they contain higher amounts of salt, fats and calories

The bluest eye

The MacTeer family takes two other people into their home, Mr. Henry and Pecola. Pecola is a troubled young girl with a hard life. Her parents are constantly fighting, both physically and verbally. Pecola is continually being told and reminded of what an "ugly" girl she is and that's why she thinks that if her eyes were blue, things would be different, she would be pretty. Pecola eventually moves back in with her family. One day, as her father returns home and finds Pecola washing dishes, he rapes her. His motives are unclear and confusing, seemingly a combination of both love and hate. After that Pecola discovers that she is pregnant. The entire town of Lorain turns against her, except Claudia and Frieda. In the end Pecola's child is born prematurely and dies. The language was a little hard for me. There was lot of expressions and I got many new words.

Turismi mõju majandusele ja keskkonnale

See võib viia vee puuduseni ja veevarude allakäiguni. ECONOMY 1. Country's political and economical situation affects tourism significantly. The number of tourists can be small in the countries, where there are hurricanes, eartquakes, terrorism and diseases. 2. Jobs created by tourism are often poorly paid and seasonal. Tourism can push up local property prices and the cost of goods and services. 3. A huge amount of tourism returns are taken away from the target country. There are many reasons: quarters with a foreign heritage, travel agency, commercial expences and raw materials for the tourists. ENVIRONMENT 1. Pollution The cruise ships of the Mediterrean Sea are polluting water and coast areas and the bottom of the sea. One cruise ship creates about 50 tons of solid garbage a year. There are floating plastic garbage islands in the ocean. 2

The Catcher in the Rye

liking anything. He tells her his fantasy of being "the catcher in the rye," a person who catches little children as they are about to fall off of a cliff when playing on a rice field on the edge of a cliff. Next day Holden calls his former English teacher, Mr. Antolini, who tells Holden he can come to his apartment. The teacher asks Holden what does he want from his life and tries to give good advice to the boy. In the evening Holden returns to see Phoebe and takes her to a amusing park. Watching his sister riding on a carousel laughing brings out Holdens tears, and almost causes him a nervous breakdown. The story ends with Holden talking to a psychiatrist, who tries to ,,open him up". Although, critics have chewed on it for a long time, it was an interesting book, writen in a colloquial style, which really fits for younger people to read. Thatswhy I would reccomend ,,The Catcher in the Rye" to people my age.

She then sits next to the bed and rocks back and forth in a catatonic state. Around 6:15 am, Micahs alarm rings. At 1:55pm, Katie's friend Amber calls the house, and later arrives at 9:00 pm, discovering Micah's body downstairs. Minu hobid

Mul on väga palju hobisid, tegelikult on meie perel ja sugulastel üldse kõigil väga palju hobisid. Üle kõige armastan ma sporti, eriti jooksmist, korvpalli ja kõrgushüpet. Et vormis olla käin kergejõustiku trennis. Mulle meeldib seal väga, sest õpin seal alati midagi uut juurde. Samuti meeldib mulle tantsida ja kinos käia. Mõnikord juhtun olema ka teatris või tsirkuses. Suvel läime me perega telkimas ja ratta matkadel.

Report for Pride and Prejudice

He is accompanied by his friend Mr. Darcy. Soon Mr. Bingley leaves the vicinity and Jane is surprised because she thought that they would get married. Many things happen and Elizabeth goes to see her friend Charlotte. But while staying with her, she meets Mr. Darcy. He makes a proposal, but she rejects it. The next day he gives her a letter explaining his earlier behaviour. She then understands him perfectly and is upset that she had been so rude. Elizabeth returns home and as time goes by she gets to know him better and finally falls in love with him. In the end they marry and so does Jane with Mr. Bingley. Personal opinion I believe that Jane Austen tries to say that we should not judge the book by its cover and that we should look in the person's character deeper. I think that she has excellently achieved her purpose. The book is really well-written, the writing is effective and beautiful. She writes with

Inglise keele arvustus sarjale Jeeves and Wooster

He always fall into troble, but his improbably well-informed and talented valet Jeeves help him out. More closely I am going to talk about series 4, episode 1, because this is the only episode what I had seen, but I think it's enough to have my view about that comedy cycle. The first episode of the 4th season is "Return to New York". The episode is adapted from three stories by P.G. Wodehouse: "The Spot of Art", "The Delayed Exit of Claude and Eustace" and ,,Fixing It for Freddie". When Bertie returns to New York he orders a painting of his Aunt Agatha, which is painted by a woman whose Bertie is in love. Aunt wants to pack her wayward nephews Claude and Eustace Wooster off to Africa. Tuppy, Bertie's friend, tries to sell his Cock-A-Leekie soup recepie to a soupcompany Slingsby of Slingsby's Soups. A Car accident take place and Wooster is conciliateing her friend and his wife. I'm sure that everyone recognise the man who was playing the character Wooster.

Pessimism vs optimism

made relating to links between population growth and levels of economic development. Checks fall into three categories; 1. Misery-(Shorten LE) 2. Vice-Warned against the dangers of practicing family planning which may lead to promiscuity 3. Moral restraint-Advised this e.g. delayed marriage and limit sexual partners. This viewpoint also states that available technology to cultivate further would lead to soil erosion and a general decline in food production and the law of diminishing returns whereby with higher levels of technology only a small increase in yields would occur. Criticisms to the theory •Too simplistic •Ignores the fact that only the poor go hungry (marxist viewpoint) and that it purely results from the poor distribution of resources. •Malthus did not see the changes in farming technology. e.g. 10,000 sq meters (one hectare) or the size of a football pitch can feed 1000 people for a year (or enough tom feed the world)

Inuit Culture

The word "Inuit" means "people." Malina and her brother, the Moon god Anningan, lived together. They got into a terrible fight and Malina spread dirty, black grease all over her brother's face. In fear, she ran as far as she could into the sky and became the Sun. Anningan chased after her and became the Moon. Anningan Anningan often forgets to eat, so he gets thinner as the days go by. Every month, the Moon disappears for three days while Anningan eats. He then returns to chase his sister once again. This eternal chase makes the Sun alternate in the sky with the Moon. Anningan is the name of the Moon god of some of the Inuit people that live in Greenland. The word "Inuit" means "people." Anningan continually chases his sister, Malina, the Sun goddess, across the sky. During this chase, he forgets to eat, and he gets much thinner. This is symbolic of the phases of the moon, particularly the crescent.

Hemingway A Farewell to Arms (main characters)

Concepts such as these mean nothing to him beside such concrete facts of war as the names of the cities in which he has fought and the numbers of decimated streets. Against this bleak backdrop, Henry's reaction to Catherine Barkley is rather astonishing. The reader understands why Henry responds to the game that Catherine proposes--why he pledges his love to a woman he barely knows: like Rinaldi, he hopes for a night's simple pleasures. But an active sex drive does not explain why Henry returns to Catherine--why he continues to swear his love even after Catherine insists that he stop playing. In his fondness for Catherine, Henry reveals a vulnerability usually hidden by his stoicism and masculinity. The quality of the language that Henry uses to describe Catherine's hair and her presence in bed testifies to the genuine depth of his feelings for her. Furthermore, because he allows Henry to narrate the book, Hemingway is able to
