How can the issue of intolerance be addressed by the government?

Government should emphasise education more and more. Children should learn about tolerance and human rights and about other ways of life. School should teach children to always be open-minded. Teaching about tolerance and human rights and that the world is bigger than it seems, has to be taught at an early age so that a curious child would grow up to be a open-minded adult, not afraid of something just because they do not know enough about it. Government is also responsible for enforcing laws, and protecting people. Government should find a solution for every small problem. Small problems get quickly big, fear and intolerance in people spreads if nothing is done about it. So yes, small problems matter and need to be taken care of. In conclusion, one thing is to prevent problems from growing bigger and finnaly global, enforcing the human rights laws. The seconf really important aspect here

Crime in Estonia

The trend was started by Raivo Roosna and Aleks Lepajõe who robbed the Tillander store in Helsinki in 1985. In December 2006, it was estimated that Estonian criminals were responsible for 140 robberies of jewellery and watch stores in Finland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Sweden during the last three years. The value of the lost property is estimated to be 25 million Euros.[1] Today transnational Estonian organised crime is predominantly about smuggling drugs, alcohol, and other illegal or high-tax goods from Russia to Finland, Sweden, and elsewhere in the Baltic Sea. Estonia is a relatively safe country, although there are some situations, where people should be more careful crime has been increased lately. We could count different type of crimes, but most common are smuggling and robberies. Many people like something, what do not belong to them. On the one hand, ...

Are men better directors than women ?

Name: Chlen Zhopov Subject: Essay Are men better directors than women ? It is common that top executives in big companies are mostly men. But does that necessarily mean that women are not suitable for such responsible, effort and leadership demanding jobs? I do not think so. First of all, I would like to say that this tradition is coming not only from history, but from evolution. In nature, masculine representatives of most species are stronger, more agile and aggressive than feminine representatives, because their biological function is to be the main breadwinners and defenders of their families, while females' main functions are to distribute that

Tess - Guilty or not ?

I read Thomas Hardy's book called Tess of the D'Urbevilles. The book is about young woman's misfortunes. Those misfortunes lead to many desperate actions but Tess is not quilty of them. The first misadventure which leads to others is when Tess has to go to the market. Tess accidentally kills the horse. She feels guilt but in my opinion it was not her fault because after all it was her father's task not Tess'. Her father could not go because he was too drunk. However, Tess feels like she is responsible and that she has to do something good for her family. In order to compensate her mistake she goes to work for a rich relative in a bird farm. There happens another awful thing she gets pregnant from her so called cousin Alec D' Urberville. Yet again it is not Tess' fault because her mother has not taught to Tess essential things about life and men. What makes it even worse is that Tess does not agree to marry Alec. When her baby dies Tess decides to escape her homevillage. She starts working

Religion in Ireland

Religion in Ireland 2. Today I'm going to talk about Christianity in Ireland, Roman Catholic Church, Saint Patrick and Saint Patrick's day . 3. Christianity is and has been the largest religion in Ireland. Most churches are organised on an all-Ireland basis which includes both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Many people believe that St Patrick was the one responsible for bringing Christianity to Ireland. Although he made a major impact on Christian Ireland he certainly wasn't the first to arrive here. St. Palladius was the first Christian to arrive in Ireland. 4. The Roman Catholic Church in Ireland is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church. It is the largest Christian church in Ireland. This map is based on a reasearch made in 2011, that shows how many catholics are in The Republic of Ireland and in Northern Ireland

Computer games

I believe that if video games are used properly and in the correct measure, they can be fun, but, in my opinion, it is much more interesting to be out with friends and enjoy the fresh air. HAVING A PET Many people today buy or adopt pets because they are very friendly. However, they are sometimes abandoned because they are a big responsibility. Therefore, we can say that having a pet has advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, having a pet is a good way to become more responsible, because you have to care for it: take it for a walk, feed it or wash it. In addition, pets are a very good companion and you can play with them as well as teach them orders or customs, like to dogs or cats. On the other hand, they are a very big expenditure. You must buy a lot of things for their care, such as food, injections or soap. Furthermore, if you have more than one pet, for example a dog and a cat, they probably will not get on well, so you may have problems at home. .

Tess of the d'urbervilles

Tess of the D'Urbervilles - Guilty or Not? The story is about an ordinary young woman who encounters insurmountable obstacles but is responsible for creating none. From the beginning it can be understood that she doesn't have the right to express her opinion and if she had, would she dare to. It all begins with Tess following her father's wishes to make contact to the D'Urbervilles, because she has to manage to deal with an intrusive young man and because of her lack of experience she ends up being pregnant and alone. This kind of situation was not approved at her time and the villagers turned against her

What does it mean to be human? In order to understand who is a human we need to understand what separates us from animals. The word ,,human" comes from homo sapiens which is Latin for ,,wise man". The name itself refers to the exact reason we are special our mental capability. What does ability to think give us and how does it affect out world? Human is a social being and cannot live without expressing himself. In order to communicate clearly we have developed a vast system of symbols languages. There are over 6000 different languages in the world and each language comes with a different culture. Because of our ability to remember, humans are able to transmit information from generation to generation. Humans know their history, because we remember what we have created. Our world-view is more than what is seen to the eye. Homo sapiens is a developing species. Our body has changed and so has our min...

Teamwork: the pros and cons

I'm more likely to work in a team than alone. There are many good sides in teamwork, like people can pool their skills together and than it's generally more productive but when work individually person has he is own ideas. No idea is a bad idea when person is working alone. It's an amazing feeling when person can create his owns ideas or do whatever his heart desires. There is only one, with own ideas and trust in his own decision making. Of course, person will be fully responsible for the outcome. The common goal in teamwork is good for morale and fosters team spirit but in individual work person can't get help from others or be appreciated by others for ideas. Also collaboration and mutual feedback are fulfilling and make people feel more valued however individual person can also feel valued for himself, but he can't feel valued by the others if person want to be valued he must share his ideas or creation with others to make their work or situation more easier.

Smoking is on the increase among young people

Schools could have classes and seminars that increase the knowledge about the consequences of smoking. That way teens would be aware of the health problems such as many different cancers, heart diseases, asthma and strokes caused by cigarettes. Youths should also see the visuals how smoking ages skin and yellows teeth. Also a similar meetings for parents and students should be organised. After this parents might be more intrested in and responsible for their child' s health. Teens would care about their health more if they knew about the consequences of tobacco. Raising awareness is a good solution to reduce underage smoking. Another suggestion would be to ban adverts that supports smoking. We could for example, ban magazine advartisements. It would be a good idea because teens read magazines very often and they see the pictures in them. Many famous or rich people are seen smoking in advartisements, there are

So after Russian identifies the murderer it comes out that the real murderer is Rooster not Turk. After Rooster had killed Spider he makes Turk to confess in front of a camera to make him responsible for those killings. But soon as Rooster is trying to escape Turk catches up with him and dialogue continues, after that Rooster pulls a gun out to shoot Turk but Turk is faster and kills Rooster. I really enjoyed this movies because 2 of my favorite actors were in it (Robert De Niro and Al Pacino) and my favorite rapper (Curtis Jackson also known as `'50 Cent''). Terrorism

Mass mediaMedia exposure may be a primary goal of those carrying out terrorism, to expose issues that would otherwise be ignored by the media. Some consider this to be manipulation and exploitation of the media.[62] Others consider terrorism itself to be a symptom of a highly controlled mass media, which does not otherwise give voice to alternative viewpoints, a view expressed by Paul Watson who has stated that controlled media is responsible for terrorism, because "you cannot get your information across any other way". Paul Watson's organization Sea Shepherd has itself been branded "eco-terrorist", although it claims to have not caused any casualties The September 11 attacks (often referred to as nine-eleven, written 9/11) were a series of coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda upon the United States on September 11, 2001. Cars enslave us rather than liberate us

Cars enslave us rather than liberate us Transportation is something that has a big influence on people's lives. Especially cars that offer the best comfort for humans. There is always a need to go somewhere: to school, work or just for a journey and it is always good to reach a destination as soon as possible. Of course, the importance of the car depends on the person's residence, whether the person lives in a city or in the countryside, the needs are different. In my opinion, cars enslave people because once a person gets behind the wheel, there is no way out of this comfort. To begin with, car requires a many expenditure, starting from purchasing a car and ending with technical controls, supplying of fuel and so on. It can be said that the material side of the car sustenance is difficult. A person must have a stable income to afford a car. Moreover, it is expensive to get a driver's license. It can be said ...

Does our mission need to be redefined? Are our strategic goals aligned with our mission? Who are our customers? ,,Often, no one is responsible for the overall performance of the entire process." ,,Reengineering maintains that optimizing the performance of subprocesses can result in some benefits, but cannot yield dramatic improvements if the process itself is fundamentally inefficient and outmoded." ,,For that reason, reengineering focuses on redesigning the process as a whole in order to achieve the greatest possible benefits to the organization and their customers."

Am I a sensible eater-well, I think lately I'm trying to be,but I think that I don't have enough self-confidence to do that. But I'm trying and that's a good start in my opinion. I think that the most modern illnesses are for example heart disease, headaches and stress and i also think that regular check-ups with doctors are necessary,it is better to know that you are healthy than to go visit a doctor when your illness has already almost defeated you. I think that every people is responsible for his/her own health. For example you can't go and accuse parliament because you are overweight or having a stress. This is a problem you have to deal by yourself. But what can governments do to promote a healthy lifestyle. Well I think that all kind of commercials about alcohol and than kind of stuff in TV and computer have to be forbidden, that will help a lot I think. It is known that children spend too much time at the computer and I think that limiting the time is very

There is no such thing as a totally sustainable tourism

Mowforth and Munt (2009) add on that ST is focused mainly on environmental issues, authors agree that reducing poverty in society is important, however it will more likely happen on consequence of ST. Sustainable Development of Tourism UNWTO (2011) explains ST to be more likely focused on tourism activities that can be conserved. ST stands for demand and supply side, where demand side is policies, practices and plans that take into account not only the expectations of tourists about responsible natural resource management and where supply side fights for the needs and quality of life, environment and communities that support tourist projects. All above mentioned ST definitions have similarities, but they are also different at one point or another. For example, Hunter (1999) definition of ST is more likely to be one-sided; author suggests that sustainability can be reached only if there is enough flexible arrangement of resources. This

Brazil's national drinks

metonymically called also "cachaça". The "Diccionario de la Real Academia Española", ad vocem "cachaza" gives the same double meaning. Figures from 2003 indicate 1.3 billion liters of cachaça are produced each year though only 1% of this production is exported (mainly to Germany). Outside Brazil, cachaça is used almost exclusively as an ingredient in tropical drinks, with the caipirinha being the most famous cocktail. Coffee Coffee production in Brazil is responsible for about a third of all coffee, making Brazil by far the world's largest producer, a position the country has held for the last 150 years. In 2007, 2,249,010 metric tonnes was produced, 80% of it was arabica(species of coffee). Although Brazil is the world's largest coffee producer, Brazilian firms do not dominate the international coffee industry. The country's domestic coffee market is dominated by two US coffee processors, Sara Lee and Kraft Foods. Laura Joesaar Liisa Shmeljova

Estonia vs Australia

ESTONIA VS AUSTRALIA Today, I shall compare the Baltic country, Estonia, and the largest country in Oceania, Australia. Largely they are going to be very different but still sharing little similarities. This essay will go in- depth about what makes these two nations so different. First I'm going to write about Estonia, a country within Europe. Estonia is quite small when compared to the other its neighbours with a land of 45.227 square kilometres and a population estimated at 1.3 million. The Estonian people largely speak Estonian but many of them also speak Russian and English, Russian more common as a secondary language. As being Estonian we know that less is always more. Best to be concise and to the point. Talking a lot and taking centre stage is considered rude and disrespectful. Estonians are known as hardworking, responsible, rule-obedient simple people. For example there is law that after 18...

The Giant Eland

Young per Birth: 1 Weaning: After 6 months. Sexual Maturity: Females at 15-36 months, males at 4-5 years. Life span: Up to 25 years. Primarily nocturnal, Giant Elands are highly nomadic, with large home ranges and seasonal migration patterns. During the day, herds often rest in sheltered areas. A gregarious species, Giant Eland herds usually consist of twenty or more animals and do not disband during the wet season, suggesting that social rather than ecological factors are responsible for herding. There is no evidence of territoriality, and males rarely display aggression, even during the breeding season. Giant Eland are alert and wary, making them difficult to approach and observe. They move quickly, running at over 70 km/h (42 mph), and despite their size are exceptional jumpers, easily clearing heights of 1.5 m (5 ft). Giant Eland live in open forest and savannah where they eat grass, leaves, and branches. Their primary predators are the Lion and Spotted Hyena.

Queen Mary I of England

executed to prevent any possible power struggle Mary tried to turn England back to Roman Catholicism. This effort was carried out by force, and hundreds of Protestant leaders were executed. The first was John Rogers the printer of the "Matthews-Tyndale Bible" .It was followed by the execution of former archbishop Thomas Cranmer, who was primarily responsible for the printing of the "Great Bible". As a result, around 300 Protestant heretics were burnt in three years. They were mostly poor and self-taught people. This earned the queen the title of "Bloody Mary". 4.SLAID At that time there were many people against Mary and many plans were made to get rid of her.

European Union

Which ministers attend which meeting depends on what subjects are on the agenda. Javier Solana gives EU diplomacy a face as High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy The Commission is independent of national governments. Its job is to represent and uphold the interests of the EU as a whole. It drafts proposals for new European laws, which it presents to the European Parliament and the Council. It is also the EU's executive arm in other words, it is responsible for implementing the decisions of Parliament and the Council. That means managing the day-to-day business of the European Union: implementing its policies, running its programmes and spending its funds. Like the Parliament and Council, the European Commission was set up in the 1950s under the EU's founding treaties. José Manuel Barroso heads the EU executive as President of the European Commission Informatsion http://europa.eu/abc/panorama/index_en.htm http://europa

Chat rooms

children are seeing and doing while on-line. One of the biggest threats on chat rooms is the presence of pedophiles, online stalkers and other predators always looking to exploit the vulnerabilities of pre-teens and young teens. Chat room regulars can become easily disconnected from real-life activities and extra-curricular pursuits, leading to general aloofness, less contact with real- world friends and a gradual process of social disengagement. Thats a good question. And it all depends on how responsible your child really is - and what kind of relationship you have with them. Chat rooms are the most common place kids find themselves getting into trouble. And it's important to remember that online predators often hang out in children's chat room and pass themselves off as a child in the hopes of getting some personal information from one or more of the children they find there. Should you decide to let your child participate in chat or instant message

small piece of misfortune as an opportunity to get rich quick. Definitely you can't forget to mention the most normal people from whom comes out greedy evil geniuses, who cleverly defraud companies/governments. Naturally, many people have sought to get rich quickly without having to undergo the pain and inconvenience of an accident. Others have found ways to find someone else to blame for an accident for which they were responsible. For example, one man received a payout of £238,000 in compensation from his local council after that he had broken his ankle in a pot hole. I mean how much more stupid can the justice systems get, unbelievable. In conclusion, I think that the world has gone completely mad with those compensations. I would put it on the conscience of the greedy lawyers who wisely get the money out of the courts and bigger percentage to themselves. Honour to them but that still doesn't make it right

Satire in Lilliput

Satire in Lilliput In Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels, Swift uses satire to tell a tale of Lemuel Gulliver going on voyages in strange lands and meeting a variety of different characters. Jonathan Swift's was one of the greatest satirists of his and our time. In the first book of Gulliver's Travels millions of young schoolchildren have grown to love this famous story and never recognize the satire hidden in the story. In his first Book he uses satire to demonstrate English politics by using the citizens of Lilliput. Gulliver's first adventure takes place in Lilliput. Gulliver gets shipwrecked and finds himself tied down by a considerable number of little people called Lilliputians. The Lilliputians stood only six inches high. During this time Swift recognized that England was also small in stature but was dominant force and had a great influence in Europe. England, despite its small size, had the potential to defeat any n...
