Argumentative essay "Too many people spend too much time playing games and sports"

sports. Some say that people nowadays spend too much time playing games and sports. It is my opinion that it is important to do sports and playing games is developing. First of all, there aren’t too many people who do sports, i’d say too less. Most people I know enjoy staying indoors. I think everyone should take part in sports in order to have healthy body and a healthy mind. Secondly, playing computer games is rather good than bad. Games help people relax and they can teach us a lot about history or geography as well. Opponents say that people are wasting time on games and sports. Firstly, they argue that sports can be injurious. For example, you broke your leg while playing football. They also say that computer games are addictive and make people aggressive. However, in my opinion, sports and games is very good way to spend your free time. In conclusion, games and sports are not as bad and dangerous as some people say,

significantly greater than those who didn't. At first, they treated these findings with suspicion, but the more research that was done, the more conclusive the proof became. People with pets really were living longer.  It was discovered that stroking a cat or dog lowers a human being’s blood pressure and reduces anxiety. Just having an animal around you can lower your heart rate. Cats and dogs aren't the only pets that can help you to relax either. A dental school in America has discovered that gazing at fish in a tank helps patients relax before undergoing dental treatment.  The current trend towards using pets in therapy sessions is based on the work of an American psychologist, Dr Boris Levinson. He was treating a child who was very withdrawn and refused to talk. One day, Dr Levinson took his dog Jingles to the therapy session and, to his surprise, the child began stroking and cuddling the dog. Through

The Role of the Hippie Movement in 21st Century Britain

more liberal press and movies which has led to a degradation of our cultural values and ethics. Youth fashions became more and more bizarre , and sexual, in an attempt to rebel against the mainstream values. Some argue that the embrace of spontaneity and worship of the “primitive” have turned us towards mindlessness and violence. Hippies in 1960’s used different drugs etc to expand their counsciousness; today’s (not only) hipsters use also drugs and alcohol to relax and get away from reality. What is funny about it all, that people with similar lifestyle and habits do not define themselves as hippies, they might even hate the hippies, altough they life the same way. In my opinion, the 1960’s hippies behaviour has been an influence on today’s adolescents. At the head - hipsters. If I look at my friends and people I communicate, then many of them have the attitude “I don’t care” or the same “If it feels good, do it”.

Healthier than ever before!

well, but in the same time it is essential to do diffrent kind of exercises and have basic knowledges about your body. Our grandmothers and grandfathers often complain, that we eat wrong sort of food, like hamburgers and french fries. But I think, it isn`t true. Yes, we eat hamburgers, but not every day. Me myself couldn`t eat a hamburger every day, I will get enough. It seems to me that younger generation appreciate a good work out more than ever more. We like to relax by doing exercises and fitting our body. It gives a lot of energy. In my opinion we are going to be a very healthy generation. Mari Saar.

April 14, 2008 Dear Jaanika, It's been a while since we last wrote, so I thought I'd drop you a line to bring you up to date with what's been happening here. Actually, right now I'm laying under the palm tree and having a nice vacation at Bahama Island. I've been here for a week already and the time is just flowing by. I'm planning to relax and enjoy my vacation for another 2 weeks. Then I have to fly back home and start to work hard. But as a matter of fact I'm already thinking about my summer plans. I'm kind a sure that it wont be that relaxing at all, because I've thought about some money collecting. So my plans are that the first 2 months I'll mostly spend working. Essay: Living in a City

There are more opportunities to find a job and to promote one's career. There are usually better schools and universities are founded in cities, too. On the other hand are cities pretty noisy, therefore it can create a restless environment for concentrated studying. A big advantage of living in a city is the variety of entertainment concerts, theatres, cinemas, restaurants and cafes, nightclubs and so on. However, in the countryside people can enjoy the silence and relax without paying any money. Also, in the countryside the environment is much greener and cleaner as in the cities the air is more polluted, which can damage our health. Living in a city, people have much better accessibility for things in need, like food, medications etc., because important industries and shopping centres are usually close to the consumers. Whether one likes a fast living rhythm and to socialize or a peaceful and clean environment

My ideal home

My ideal home I have always dreamed about my ideal home. My dreams are not big. I would rather live in a small house in a cosy place. I would prefer country. If i would have a big garden i would be happy. My wife could work in the garden. My ideal home would have 2 floors with a basement. In the basement there should be a big room where i could relax. There should also be a gym and a sauna. That room should have a big couch around the room and a big table in the middle. On the ground floor there should be the kitchen with the latest technology. The fridge should be full of food. The living room should also be on that floor. It should have all comforts. The first floor should be the floor where are the bedrooms. There should be my and my wifes bedroom and our childern bedrooms. Also there should be the guests room.

Leicester Square

It is between Piccadilly and Covent Garden, just north of Trafalgar Square. Leicester Square is at the centre of London's entertainment and social scene. Leicester Square is the centre of entertainment with cinemas, restaurants, theatres and clubs all around and sometimes a funfair in the middle. Leicester Square is now home to some of London's largest cinemas and is the venue for many premiers. There is a lovely garden in Leicester Square, where people can relax after a hard day's work in the city. In the middle of the garden is a beautiful statue of William Shakespeare. In 1981 a lifesize statue of Charlie Chaplin was added. You can buy halfprice theatre tickets at the building with a sign 'tkts'. 'tkts' is London's most famous and popular theatre ticket shop. Based in the Clocktower Building in Leicester Square, tkts is an essential part of a visit to London.

Unistuste reis

I would like to go away for a while from Estonia where its cold and windy and enjoy the sun, warm weather, the beautiful sea and the cloudless sky on the beach. The trip to the Carribbean should certainly be with a plane but we would need a car and someone who could drive us. The suncream would protect us from the unsafe sun and we would lie in the shade on palm trees. We wouldn't be interested of sightseeing on this trip because it's a place where you can have much fun and relax. And of course i wouldn't say no to a ride on a luxurious yacht.. We wouldn't stay the nights at the beach, but in some overpriced and luxurious hotel. The rooms would be spacious and the windows would be wide and of course there should be a large balcony where we could enjoy the sunsets. The roomservice would be friendly and the foods would be delicious. I just hope this dream will once come a reality.

listen to it. Chris martin has a powerful voice and the overall sound is flawless. The songs contain lush melodies and they are really relaxing. The band's music is also meditative and it reflects on their emotions. The lyrics of their songs are very thought-provoking and the most important thing is that they are meaningful. You start to think differently when you have delved into them. I strongly recommend this CD and this band to everyone who wants to relax and enjoy good music. This band is really worth listening to.

Televisioon

Television Television is the most common way to spend free time. Although everyone watch TV, they still have different opinions about it. I think TV helps people to be closer to news or other important incidents. Especially now when there's a economic crisis everywhere and people wants to know what's happening around them. TV also helps you to relax easily. It is a lot of fun to watch TV and have a beer with your friends. TV also helps to take up a new topic to talk about. Some TV programmes are very educating and help students with their school work. My favorite TV programmes are political talkshows. They help me to be more critical to provocations. But watching TV all day long is not healthy. It can really affect your eyes. The most annoying thing about television is that the TV companies show more commercials than programmes

believe it is a bad idea. First of all, the studio offers a large variety of services that aspiring artists can use. Very few students can allow themselves to have this opportunity and kind of equipment at home. Further more, the instructors in the studio help young promising artists discover and develop their talents. Secondly, the art studio is situated in an excellent place and is open round the clock, which is very convenient for the students as it allows them to relax and study there without going too far away from the school. The venue can also be used to host exhibitions where artists can demonstrate their works of art. Thirdly, I feel that it is my responsibility to let you know, unless the arts department’s decision is changed, a protest will be held. In conclusion, it is vital for our school to have an art studio. It is essential for struggling artists of our school but it also helps to promote the school and attract new prospective students

Having a job while studying

Having a job while studying I think, that having a job while studying has both, positive and negative sides. One point of view in favour is preparation for the further life. On the other hand, having a job while studying shortens your spare time, time to relax and rest your brain, also you do not have time to do your homework properly, grades will suffer. Furthermore, young people should have enough time to spend with their friends and family, while students who work, use their ,,free time" to earn money, they enter to the grown-up world too soon, not to mention the fact that these working students usually do not have enough time for their personal life, relationships with opposite gender will suffer. They lose piece of their childhood.

No one will laugh if you like classical or rock music. What's more, music helps us to live. When someone feels lonely or depressed he just turns his player on and listens to his favorite songs. And all his sadness goes away. So, music for us is also one of the ways to relax. In conclusion, I want to say that music is a great support in role of the modern society. And if someone tells me that he doesn't like listening to music, I just won't believe because it seems me unreal.

Proposal

Dear Sir/Madam, I read with great regret that you want to reduce the funding for English college Film Club. I would like propose the ideas to enhance the Film Club to not to lose the funding. I will try to change your mind by bringing out folowing reasons. Firstly, Film Club evenings take plave on Fridays 6-10 pm. Usually films are in English and quiz evenings about films are always very popular. Students like to relax and communicate with each other, it is also popular because watching films is not too physically demanding. Secondly, there are some problems but Film Club team is trying to solve them. The biggest problem is lack of money and because of that we would like to raise the entry fee. In addition to money problems DVD library films are all from ancient times and this collection has not been renewed since 1995. We are discussing about throwing a Film Fair, where people could donate nowadays films to us. Finally, last month ...

Travelling - not so easy as it seems to be

"What if we go to..." or just "Hi! I'm back from Egypt!" these are some of the sentences which we all have heard from our friends. Of course we all want to travel and see the world but it might not be so easy as it seems to be. Travelling has its drawback too. You will get new experiences and see different places of the world but all of this has its negative side too. On the one hand you can familiarize yourself with different cultures, see interesting places and sights. Also you can just relax and enjoy yourself or just stop thinking about your problems. On the other hand travelling needs a lot of money and free time. Also you have to know anything about that country where are you going. You have to be sure about your safety too if anything should happen to you. You can never be sure that the plain you are flying with doesn't cause plain crash. And there could be more dangers like bitten by a snake or getting hit by a rock. Anyway escaping from your problems doesn't solve anything

Advantages and disadvantages living in a city

There are also many disadvantages of living in a big city. In the morning the streets are crowded, because everybody has to go to work and they only use cars or public transport, which means that there are traffics. Sometimes it's hard to get from one place to another, because it takes hours! Also there are many crimes and violence at night, so you have to be careful. To sum up i think that i rather live in the city and when i feel, that i need to relax, then i just go to the countryside and take some time alone.

Friendship Friendship is an in-depth relationship combining trust, support, loyalty, respect and understanding. Being able to trust and relax with your friend is a big part of friendship. Friendship is a feeling of comfort and emotional safety with a person. It is when you do not have to weigh your thoughts and measure words, before keeping it forth before your friend. It is when someone knows you better than yourself and assures to be your side in every emotional crisis. Different people have different definitions of friendship. Remember, a trouble shared is a trouble halved. You won't have to lie to them anymore and they will encourage you so you won't be so worried about the exams. When you have told your parents about your results you really should stop worrying so much. This is your main problem. The more you say to yourself you can't do it the less are youre chances of passing. Even geniuses can't get a good score if they worriy so much. If I were you I would go into the nature and relax for a while. Rest for some time and when you feel ready and calm you should start revising. Figure out what went wrong and learn as much as you can. Try to explain yourself what you did in every exercise. If you know how to explain what you are doing and why are you doing it you can't be wrong. The more you learn the smarter you are. It's as easy as that. I'm sure you will pass the exams and get on with your life. Let me know what happens and don't remember to rest. Good luck, Auntie Claire

Books Today and Tomorrow

Nowadays people tend to read less books than they used to. The main reason for this catastrophy is the development of technology. People would rather watch moving pictures in the television than pick up an old book covered in dust. In the past, when there were no television or computers to entertain people, books were basically the only amusement. On the other hand the lifestyle of ours has gotten tremendously busy and some do not find the time to just sit back and relax by reading. With the development of technology, people will become more lazier which may result in the lack of reading. Printed books will be replaced with e-books, print media with social media and so on. They feel that books are unnecessary, all the information needed and more is available online. Furthermore we do not value education and intellectuality much anymore, instead we value more superficial things such as entertainment.

Wealth does not bring happiness. True or falce?

Many people believe that you can do anything if you have money, they believe that money brings happiness, great fortune, fame and health. You have power and you can buy whatever you like. On one hand, it is true but on the other hand it is false. Money can improve your lifestyle in many ways. It can help you buy fresh food, it can help you get good medical care. Money also allows you to travel and meet new people, new places and new civilizations. It permits you to have a lot of free time to relax, do the things you like and buy all the stuff you like. On the other hand, money makes you greedy and selfish. The more you make the less you spend on charities or donations. You may become a victim of its power! Many people become addicted to luxury. And also, money cannot buy you good relationships, you cannot buy people's feelings, you have to earn them. If you have a lot of money but, have everything you

Tourism a threat to the environment?

population of the area visits, but it is not only thing that affects the nature. Tourism affects our environment positively and negatively. For example of positive effect would be that, people who organize hikes take care of pathways and camping places. If they had not built the camp sites for tourists there would be overgrown forest. So may say that thanks to the good and decents businesses are our surroundings clean and pleasant to everyone who like to spend some time and relax in wild. Tourism has a negative impact to environment if a large number of events are organized in a inappropriate sites. Usually people throw garbage and empty packages down when they stay overnight or just party. In addition too many people on one land may damage the plants under their feet. Besides nature decorative effects it also changes the economic situation of this place. Develop new jobs and increasing the purchasing power and scale of living.

Living in the countryside – a pleasant experience or a never-ending hardship?

Tim Living in the countryside a pleasant experience or a never-ending hardship? It is a dream of many people to live in the countryside. It is so relaxing and freshening. Living in the countryside is definitely good for you. But it can also be very hard. So what are the pros and cons of living in the countryside. Living in the countryside is good for your health, because the air is less polluted than in the city. Also you are away from all the noise that cars make on the streets. In the countryside you can relax and enjoy the sound of nature. In the countryside you can do what you want, because the neighbours are far away. Also you lots of garden room and a lot more privacy than in the city. On the other hand living in the countryside can be hard. You have to do most of the chores by yourself. Secondly...

Distance learning is a challenge

Marge Veskemaa Distance learning is a challenge To begin with, distance learning is very difficult. However, there are some positive things. I can plan my school work mostly. Some teachers gives a time when you need to be ready. This would mean that we can´t just lay down and relax all day. I think they give enough time and student should get ready with their work. When there is no time I can do my work in the morning, in afternoon or in the evening. With that I learn planning and I am more independent. I think one thing you need to have and that is motivation. For example, you sit every day at home and do nothing, motivation is very easy to go away and you do not want to do school work also. As a result, you school work suffers. I think teachers try to keep our

Sports Centre

I think Jyri sports centre has more advantages than disadvantages. I am rather optimistic and think it is such a privilege that we have sports centre in jyri. Thanks to the sports centre there is many hobbies you can choose from. You can learn different martial arts, different dances, basketball, football and table tennis. you can take swimming lessons and much more. When you just want to take a time out you can take a steam bath, a regular sauna or just relax in a bubble bath. To me jyri sports centre has only one disadvantage. That you have to pay for these things which the sports centre includes. I find this as a disadvantage because in these hard times I do not have the luxury to go swimming or visit the gym, but again what is the price for your health? My suggestion to end these high prices is to build another sports centre to jyri. So the

disadvantages. Like your mom is not there every day to prepare you a hot dish, doing the laundry and washing the tableware, also all the phone-, water- and electricity bills to be paid or the simple fact that you have to buy everything from the food to the toilet paper - all by yourself. This may be too difficult to high school students. So you might end up using large amounts of alcohol or some illegal substances to relax more in the weekends. On the other hand there are also advantages. It's a great chance when the person realizes all the responsibility that he or she has to deal with. But you are not alone, there always be some support from home by helping you with cash for the food and rent. I do not think the main advantage of living all by yourself is partying, friends and girls I think the main advantage is that you can get some warm-up for mature life.

Trip to Estonia

lake Peipsi. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful forest. Day 5 Pärnu · In Pärnu, I would go and see the Red Tower, a former prison tower, which is the only preserved fort tower of Uus-Pärnu. After that, I would possibly go swimming, if it was warm enough. Day 6 Haapsalu · In Haapsalu, I would go to the Estonian Railway Museum. There are a few old locomotives, wagons and freight cars on the rails, which would be quite interesting to look at. Then, I would go and relax at the Fra Mare Thalasso Spa. Day 7 Paldiski · Before leaving, I would go to the Paldiski Submarine Base. It is located 50km from Tallinn. Today, nothing is really left there, apart from ruined barracks, some bunkers and a missile tower. Music Is My Passion

Music Is My Passion      Music  is  one  of  the most important and powerful things in my life. My life without melodies and  harmonies  would  be  totally empty. Listening to  and playing different tunes helps me to relax and  it  can  also  help  to  motivate  me  in  trying  things.  I   love  listening  to  music  while  on  my  way  to  school,  as  I  feel  it  helps  me  to  prepare  for  the  day that waits. Music gets me back to my  greatest  memories. Mostly summer memories, they're the best.     When  I  was  younger  my  mother  used  to  take  me  to  music  classes  that  were  for  babies.  And  because  music  has  been  by  my  side  for  17  years,  I guess that is why I'm still so close to music. I  even started singing before talking.     Nobody  didn’t  force  me  to  start  playing violin  when I  was five years old or p...

My ideal house

university. This house is quite small and is perfect for me when I don't have children. My career choice means lots of years study so I don't have to worry about the rooms for children because I plan to have them after I have graduated university. I plan to study in Stockholm and it's a perfect location for the house. In Stockholm I can enjoy the seaview. On the second floor there is a bathroom which is fully equipped. Small jacuzzy is just a perfect place where to relax from my exhausting day. Watching the eventide makes you forget all your problems. On the second floor there is also a bedroom. It is very simple but cozy. In front of the white bed there is a brown carpet. It is very soft and ment

English in my mind

Like bringing a simple example, opening the door for an older women or a person, no swearing and greet familiar people. Like its said, all starts at home. How do you interact with your family at home, to you sisters, brothers, mom or dad. In my future home i want nobody to yell at each other and talk to eachother clearly. My family members to have a nice and a cozy home, and all to support each other. I think home is suposed to be the place where you come from work to relax and rest. Where you can concern or complain or share happy moments with your family members. Everyone in the world should have a home and education. Everyone should have home support to face the harsh world.
