All the world's a puzzle;arutlev kirjand

They have the power to change the world up-side down. The English textbook given to us this year is something we must carefully treasure after all, there are going to be more people next year either to praise or suffer from it. But not the emotions count at the moment, the future does we must all learn from this wonderful book that wit is not easily gained, however once it's collected, it'll be never lost again. The first chapter includes three specially chosen units. Unit one includes reading about the UK, learning how to form questions, listening, some vocabulary exercises, monologue and, of course, an `extra word exercise' about Ireland. The sweetest part will be probably the last one since I used to like the game odd-man-out in middle school. We often played it, as well as Bingo and Puzzle, but finding a word lost in a bizarre of difficultly read context was still my favourite! I have high expectations for it. Unit two is somewhat odd-man-out

When I was a child.

When I was a child Childhood is very special time in life. All these memories are unique. We all have had a childhood, we all got different memories. But not all memories aren't good. Kristo Karu tells a little bit about his childhood. When I was a child I liked to make troubles. Once I was cutting hammer handle into two pieces. Granddad punished me. Also I have been driving with sledge on very big puddle. Sledge didn't make it. I got very wet. Once I had been hitting chicken with bow arrow, granny saw me. This was very big trouble. I liked to eat matches when I found some. These tasted good. I spent very much time at granny's place when I was a child. Granny liked when I was there even I was very bad child. But I didn't like my granny, because she was very evil to me. I was afraid of her. Sometimes I hid myself into the shed. Granny was looking for me all day. But she...

Is there a place for libraries in future?

Is there a place for libraries in future? I think in the past almost everyone liked just to sit in a library and to read good books. But what do young people think about libraries today? Millions of people around the world enjoy reading and in my opinion it will continue. I am convinced that we will always need in a library. Since childhood people learn to read, have fun and play, study and do homework at libraries. There are so many very great books, and every year their number increases. May be someday people will even start building libraries on the water. Then we could not only read books but also rest and travel. On the other hand libraries could be built for example as hotel. Surely this library will be very popular

Refereering Elina Harjuneni inglise keelsest artiklist

Refereering Elina Harjuneni artiklist "Reading research on Finnish basic education through the lenses of ethics and values" Elina Harjuneni artikkel "Reading research on Finnish basic education through the lenses of ethics and values" räägib väärtuskasvatusest soome koolis heites valgust ka võimalikele seostele PISA testi tulemustega. Haridusinimesed kõikjalt Euroopast, kaasaarvatud Eestist, arutlevad soome hariduse kui fenomeni üle: kuidas saavutavad soome kooli õpilased PISA testis alati nõnda kõrgeid tulemusi? Osad on pidanud nende heade tulemuste saladuseks väärtuspõhist kasvatust.

The Book I Advice to Read and Why

The Book I Advice to Read and Why. I've recently read a book which has made a very deep impression on me. It is called The Fifth Mountain and it gets really unforgettable reading. The author of the book is Paulo Coelho. He is my favourite writer, so I can recommend almost all his books I read. His plots always mislead the reader and keep him in suspense. 61 The Fifth Mountain is a work inspired by a biblical passage which seeks to reconcile all contradictions of the soul, and which intends to be an excellent advisor in times of confusion and reflection. 95 The story of the prophet Elijah is an invaluable lesson of hope for the contemporary man. The Lean Startup summary

The Lean Startup summary “The Lean Startup” was published in September 2011 by Eric Ries. Due to the popularity of the lean startup philosophy, the book was highly anticipated prior to its release, and quickly became a #2 New York Times bestseller. The reason why I picked this book is because it was something that i found interesting and I thought I would really enjoy reading book about business. Eric Ries defines in this book a startup as an organization dedicated to creating something new under conditions of extreme uncertainty. This is just as true for one person in a garage or a group of seasoned professionals in a Fortune 500 boardroom. What they have in common is a mission to penetrate that fog of uncertainty to discover a successful path to a sustainable business. I learned about startup philosophy, which is used by both startups and more mature companies.

The school holiday

An holiday is the perfect place to try something new, to push yourself to a new limit and realise your dreams. You can do something that you've never tried before, like going to new places or take part of the adventure games. You can go to the gym or run every day 5 km. I like to go hiking in the woods or just take a daytrip to a city where I have never been before. The other possibility is to go for a mental challenge, like learning new language, or reading an interesting book. It is good challenge to take a science or philosophy book, something that is not so easy to read so you can be proud of yourself after finishing it. It is also possible to learn new skills such as cooking or dancing or making yourself a short film or learn a new computer program. Some people find yourself a job for a holiday and earn money. Sometimes all it takes to feel challenged is just to do old things differently or meet new people

Philip Larkin’s Poetry: Themes, Form, Style, Imagery and Symbolism

the style he used to use, to get in to a second part in which I will assess the way he presents and expresses his ideas. 1.CHAPTER I 1.1. LARKIN STUDIES POINTS OF VIEW: BIOGRAPHY AND POETRY In the collection of essays edited by Stephen Regan (Philip Larkin, 1997) we can find some underlying question as: are we discussing the poem or the poet? Or, in Larkin’s terms: are we more deceived or less deceived by the metonymy of the phrase “we are reading Larkin”? The main purpose of the volume may be discussing and assessing Larkin’s poetry, but there are at least as many references to his letters (mainly published in SL) and to his life as to the poems themselves. If we think that Larkin is known as a legend we shouldn’t be surprised about the importance his life takes as a part of his work. His work, balancing on the borderline between “Life” and “Art”, will probably always is interesting not only for critics, but

Using Blogs as a Platform in the TEFL

personal blog linked to a course as an electronic portfolio, showing development over time' (Godwin-Jones, 2003, p. 13). Hence, blogs could be used to monitor and assess students' work as well as to encourage interaction among students and between teachers and students. The following sections outline the characteristics of blogs that make them useful tools for language teaching and learning (Yang, 2009, p. 13). Firstly, there has always been problem with the low students' motivation for reading and writing. But, studies have also shown that Internet access motivates many students to read extensively (Yang, 2009, pp. 1315). Students have an opportunity to read things in which they are interested and write things they truly wish to write, thereby determining their own texts in language education and combining text with conversations in a very personal and stimulating way. Apparently, the use of blogs might be a way to provide such motivation for reading in a language

anonymous letter arrived, accusing the two of not being brother and sister, but lovers. The letter started a series of poison pen letters all over the village, which destroyed the safety the villagers took for granted. Right away, they knew it wasn't true and thought somebody was doing it just for laughs. The second letter went to Mrs Symmington, the local solicitor Mr Symmington's wife. It turned out the letters were no trick at all, when she committed suicide, after reading a letter that stated her last child wasn't her husband's. Her body was discovered with the letter, a glass containing potassium cyanide and a torn suicide note which read: I can't go on. Few days after, Mr Symmington's maid was murdered. Shockingly, the body was found by Megan, Mr Symmington's 20 year old step-daughter. Scotland Yard sent someone to investigate, and came to the conclusion that the letter- writer/murderer was a middle-aged woman who must be one of the citizens of Lymstock. The

Before I go to sleep by S.J Watson

Book review I am reading a book called ,,Before I go to sleep" by S.J Watson. This book has 384 pages and I have read 50 of them. The book is about Christine, who loses her memory when she goes to sleep and has to start afresh every time she wakes up. It's quite hard seeing it through her own eyes as each day she wakes up and can't figure out where she is. Everything has to be explained to her by a man who tries to persuade her that he's her husband. She begins to keep a journal, writing down what happens to her each day as recommended by her doctor who calls her each day to remind her of her journal and where it's hidden. Each day she reads what's previously written in her journal, and is extremely confused as she can never remember the previous entries. The Zahir Paulo Coelho

Paulo Coelho 2005 331 pages Novel The novel is set in Paris and Kazakhstan. A renowed author discovers that his wife, Esther, has suddenly dissapeared leaving no trace. He gets obsessed of meeting his wife again. During the search of his wife, he meets Mikhail. The author learns the meaning of love, the power of destiny and what it means to follow your heart. During his journey, he is a completely different man. Finally he meets his wife, but everything has changed. I really enjoyed reading this book, because it was really instructive. The story was full of lessons and ethical matters to use in life. I am completely in love with the author, because he doesn't just tell the story, but keeps you thinking about it, and speaks with the readers through the words. I usually enjoy more books with action, but this book is one of the best novels I've read. My favourite quote from the book: "All you have to do is to pay attention; lessons

ones. I am going to jump out of airplane this summer. I have been dreaming about it all the year. Parachutists have been joking and asking all the time why birds are singing? They only know that. Because flying is so great, that's why. So I suppose I will probably sing too after that. I have another exciting interest in my plans too. It is diving. Most of all I like to swim. Sometimes I drive hobby cart. I like to do different things. For example I enjoy dancing, skating, skiing, reading, traveling and also many another things. But I guess it is not necessary talk about all my hobbies and interests. OK, why I'm here today? As we know learning is becoming more and more popular nowadays and it is never late to do it. I want to continue my study by correspondence at university. Ok that's why I was decided to take this examination once again and refresh my memory. as an inconvenience than a real threat, they have to see outside of their cell phones and accept not being reachable for the length of a day. Also, not having your electronic device with you does not make you a person who is in the dark and isolated. All in all, in my opinion we should stop texting so much and think more about seeing each other, for example, over the lunch for a quick coffee or tea. Taking your Blackberry with you is highly unrecommended! I look forward to reading more letters about this issue in your newspaper. Yours faithfully, Mrs/Mr. (Your name)

Attraction of blogs

and useful. The writers of the blogs get attraction from the amount of readers and clicks, which their page gets. Some blog-writers sign contracts with various advertising agencies, so they get money for each click that their site gets. This drives the blog-keepers to write. Another great benefit that keeping a blog brings the writer - fame. The more widespread your blog becomes, the more people will recognize your name. One blog, which I really enjoy reading is my colleague's photo blog. She is an amazing photograph, who knows how to capture really candid moments and emotions. Her blog is not well known, but I believe that it will not take a very long time before it starts getting more viewers.

Memoirs of a Geisha

Memoirs of a Geisha While reading the book I was quite impressed about the lifestyle and the hard work, which comes along with becoming a geisha. It was not only a good book to read, it was also like a schoolbook for history. It took place in Japan in the beginning of 19th century and at the World War I. It explained the thought of a geisha: why have many misused the word geisha, and misunderstood the reality. The book itself is about a girl, who was sold to a family by her own father. She worked there as a maid, but as time went by she grew up and a famous and loved geisha decided to train her to become a geisha too. She worked hard, but succeeded well - she was one of the most valued geishas. The book takes us to a tour where any detail of a great and merry Japanese village cannot be left out, where every little flower or Japanese cherry tree is blossomed, where geishas are highly valued and respected, until t...

My best friend

She has a very nice personality and a wonderful sense of humor but she can also get a little depressed from time to time. I can always count on her to be honest and to give me the best advice. We are interested in many of the same hobbies. We both enjoy music, playing in computer games and surf in internet. We like going to the cinema but sometimes can't agree on which movie to see. Sometimes we just walk around, trying to find a new area of the city to explore. We both like traveling, reading, and swimming. In the holydays we might walk into town and see a movie or stay at home and watch television. Whatever we're doing, it's always fun to be with her. I know I can rely on her. Even when our lives get busy we still make time to see each other. We are lucky that we complement each other so well and that we get along so well. I hope that our friendship will continue and be just as strong before time.
