The role of women in Sense and Sensibility

show their feelings and senses openly. When they did that, everybody gossiped and talked about that slightingly. The roles of women were keeping the house clean and raise the children. If they were in the middle or lower class they had to cook, wash and clean, but if they were in the upper class, there were servants for that. They did not just sit with doing nothing, always they were backstitching or sewing or doing some other useful opusculum. Also they were reading books and playing some kind of instrument or singing were was time for that. There were many parties and balls where women did go with their husbands, escorts or wooers. Also these were places, where many available young women and men met with each other. Parties where plentiful and lavish, there were lot of gossip and scheming also. For upper class, every day was bed and roses: handling their hobbies, picnics with friends, dinners with family and friend or doing whatever they liked. Women did not have to think

Advantages and disadvantages of living in the country

have to disappoint for the advantages. There are many advantages of living in the countryside. First of all, you can always enjoy your privacy, there are few city noise and inquisitive passerby, who usually do not go there. In most of cases, country house is built on a large area, which is still a dwelling house in addition to other buildings, such as a sauna or a barn. Great yard for children are convenient and good for playing, also there is suitable to grow some animals and keep pets. There is clean and fresh air, forest is very close, where people can go hiking or just simply walk and enjoy the nature. Home-grown vegetables and root vegetables are always more acceptable than a shop bought food. Living in the country is certainly cheaper. The disadvantages of living in the country is clearly a fact that it is too far to go to the shopping, work or other things to do necessary for in everyone's life

Hobbies I have always thought that everybody should have their own hobby. Hobby, which is good and useful way to spend your time instead of playing computer games. I live in the countryside and because of that i don't have many opportunities do deal with hobbies, which I like. I have one hobby, which I really like, but the negative side of it is that I can do it only in the winter. No, it's not skiing, it's ice skating! I love it and it doesn't urge not much at all in the winter. All you need are ice skates, warm clothes and clean ice, which exist in the countryside too

It stood on the bank of the River Thames in Southwark, London, England, UK. Word order

This is an interesting (adjective) story. The kitchen ( noun) door is locked. 2 Word Order in Affirmative Sentences In English the word order is not as flexible as in many other languages. The basic structure of an affirmative sentence is SUBJECT (Who?/What?) – PREDICATE (Action/State) – OBJECT (What?): Monkeys like bananas. Mary has a little lamb. All the world is a stage. The teacher is explaining the rule. Peter is playing the guitar. If we want to say something about the manner of the action ( how does something happen?), we put the adverbial of manner in front of the predicate: She quietly opened the door. If we want to stress the mode of action, we put the adverbial of manner after the object. She opened the door quietly. If we want to show the place where the action takes place we put the adverbial of place after the predicate. Janet lives in Paris. I work in the library.

Basil even got jealous because of that he himself had created a Dorian Gray as such, who can actually live his life leaning on his devine beauty and knowing all about it. At first, Basil got jealous of lord Henry Wotton and after Dorian had met Sybil Vane playing Julia in a dirty by-street theatre, they fell in love -> he also got jealous of Sybil Vane. After many years, Basil had a chance to take a look of the picture he had painted of Dorian, and it was shockingly terrible what he saw in the picture an old man in his fourties, arms wounded by hypodermic syringes that were obviously some time ago filled with drugs, eyes looking evil and exhausted, lips transmogrified into a strange-looking smile. Basically, Dorian Gray looked like a

It means she was considered quite ugly. One day, after the tiring work in the garden, she felt very dizzy all of sudden and soon fainted under the heating sunlight. When she woke up, she was lying on the floor of a beautiful castle. There were flowers everywhere, but no doors as she noticed soon. "Where oh Earth am I?" the girl wondered now. She wasn't scared, just tired of the work she had to do on her father's farm. Suddenly, strange music of a lonely violin started playing. The melody was so unhappy that Shatelie wanted to cry. She didn't see anyone, yet the music was so close to her heart! "You're so sad," she said and closed her eyes to listen, but an unexpected silence arrived. "Why?" asked Shatelie now, "Continue, please! Your violin brought me here from a totally different world... So don't stop! Please! Before I disappear again..." "Who are you?" a scared man's voice called," This is the cursed castle of the Devil are you a Demon, his servant?"

At first it seemed to me that it was just a random part of someones life. While reading the book I got often bored and couldn't understand what was so special about it and why it is so famous. After finishing the book my first impressioon was that I didn't like it. But I still could not get it out of my mind. I started wondering about certain parts like when he told his sister that he wanted to be, if it was possibe, a somekind of catcher in the rye who catches playing children to protect them for falling down from a cliff. As the titel of the book is catcher in the rye the autor certainly wanted to make a significant point. Like many others who have read the book, I think that by `` saving children from falling `` he wanted to save children from growing up too fast and loseing their innocence in the process. But actually the one who really needed saving was himself. I dont really understand what the autor wanted to say with the book. The variety of ways to

The Catcher in the Rye

She is the most important person in Holdens life. He can rely on her and look for her support, because he thinks Phoebe is the only person on Earth, who can understand him. He is forced to admit to Phoebe that he was kicked out of school, which makes her mad at him. When he tries to explain why he hates school, she accuses him of not liking anything. He tells her his fantasy of being "the catcher in the rye," a person who catches little children as they are about to fall off of a cliff when playing on a rice field on the edge of a cliff. Next day Holden calls his former English teacher, Mr. Antolini, who tells Holden he can come to his apartment. The teacher asks Holden what does he want from his life and tries to give good advice to the boy. In the evening Holden returns to see Phoebe and takes her to a amusing park. Watching his sister riding on a carousel laughing brings out Holdens tears, and almost causes him a nervous breakdown.

The Cement Garden Character Sketch

ways and Tom, pretending to be a little baby, helped her to play her role. Tom was a living doll for the girls and dressing him up as a girl was just a fun game while Tom himself did not understand it’s disapproval in society. Jack was envious of Julie’s attention to Tom. Tom had to pretend to be in infancy to cope with loss of his mother. Although he was still a boy who sometimes peed in his bed, playing a baby helped him to forget responsibilities and problems, and find again motherly love in Julie. Tom soon forgot his real mother as something that was natural but he can not be blamed for that because it seems like he had not had any other choice. Tom was a neutral character for me who was part of a bigger puzzle. He did not do anything wrong, just the series of things he was supposed to do as a family member. And I kind of feel sorry for him

A letter to host family

I am particularly interested in experiencing family life in America, since it offers a cultural context that is undoubtedly different from mine. For this reason, I would very much like to find a nice family to live with in America. When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy being outdoors, being with my friends, going for walks in forest, visiting places I have not been to, watching a good movie and I also enjoy playing billiard and I will never get bored when it comes to child care, I have helped my parents look after my brother and sister since their birth. Although my looking after them is now on small scale because I live in dorm. I can comfortably say that I sincerely enjoy spending time with children. As far as you are concerned, I am looking for a life with host family, that would be happy to have me stay with them and I would like to help you with if needed.

Filmi analüüs "Invictus"

Invictus I saw the film ,,Invictus" at school in November. ,, Invictus" is a biographical sports drama film, which was released in the United States on December 11, 2009. The film is produced by Clint Eastwood, Lori McCreary, Robert Lorenz, Mace Neufeld and directed by Clint Eastwood. The story is based on the John Carlin book Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game That Made a Nation about the events in South Africa before and during the 1995 Rugby World Cup. The title of the film is also a title of a poem ,,Invictus", written by William Ernest Henley. I quite liked this film. It is an interesting and teaching film, which make people think about their attitude towards other people. Nelson Mandela, who released from Victor Verster Prison after 27 years spent in jail, is the first black president of South Africa

Watercolour paints and some paper Charlie thought Patrick might like them even if he never uses them. A harmonica and a book about playing it Charlie thinks that everyone should have watercolours, magnetic poetry and a harmonica. A book called ´The Major of Castro Street´ Charlie hoped it means something to Patrick. Patrick could know who the presents were from because he knows that only Charlie would do a mix tape like that and he also knows what his handwriting looks like. The Polar Boy

The deadline was coming closer and he has to send his documents to the Art Academy, but he can not not leave the hospital. Hannah does it for him. I liked the film, because it had emotionaaly really stong influece and the viewer was always kept in suspense. What I liked most of all was the actors’ performances. Jaanika Arum is a skilled actress, her role in this movie was probably the most difficult one, and she did her best, playing with her emotions so skillfully that I often got the impression that I was watching a real person with bipolarity. Some of the film scenes were quite violent and I could feel the trepidation at times when the characters communicated with each other with aggression. Visually, the movie is enjoyable. I liked that the film director used simply and ordinary effects and it was not full of high-tech actions. It can not be said, that the background music and the theme songs were
