Ibiza

Romans, which spared Ibiza from further destruction and allowed it to continue its CarthaginianPunic institutions well into the Empire days, when it became an official Roman municipality. For this reason, Ibiza today offers excellent examples of late CarthaginianPunic civilization. During the Roman Empire, the island became a quiet imperial outpost, removed from the important trading routes of the time. After the fall of the Roman empire and a brief period of first Vandal and then Byzantine rule, the island was conquered by the Moors, as well as much of the Iberian peninsula. Under Islamic rule, Ibiza came in close contact with the city of Dénia (the closest port in the nearby Iberian peninsula, located in the Valencian Community) as the two areas were administered jointly by the same taifa. Moreover, the tribes who lived in Ibiza and Denia during the period 10601085 were Moorish tribes named Bno Alaglab & BanoMujahed.

The name "Alaska" was already introduced in the Russian colonial period, when it was used only for the peninsula and is derived from the Aleut alaxsxaq, meaning "the mainland" or more literally, "the object towards which the action of the sea is directed". It is also known as Alyeska, the "great land", an Aleut word derived from the same root. Geography Alaska has a longer coastline than all the other U.S. states combined. After the Irish War of Independence most of Ireland seceded from the Union, which then became the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The relatively limited variety of fauna and flora on the island is due to its size and the fact that wildlife has had little time to develop since the last glacial period. Give them time to think. Tell them that they probably need time to consider the offer you have made. Use this when: You can see that they are not going to decide now. You have set up enough tension that you are reasonably convinced that they will indeed seriously consider the deal and are likely to come back. Given some more time, it is likely that they will buy more (for example if they are at the edge of a budgetary period and their current funds are low). The relationship is important to you, and them making a wrong decision now would affect the chances of making sales in the future. You do not need to make the sale today (for example you have made your quota and this sale would be just fine for next month). Combine this with setting up the next meeting, when perhaps you will be able to solidly close the deal. Examples

Product Presentation

Product Presentation Lasnamäe prisma, My company has a first class hairdryer called the BaByliss 5568U Salon Light 2100w AC that we believe you might be interested in purchasing to stock at your store. Our hairdryer is lightweight and has a 3 metre long power cord, which is 1.2 metres longer than the power cord of hairdryers such as the Remington Luxe AC. We believe this improves customer satisfaction with the hairdryer, as customer reviews show that they rate hairdryers with longer cords more highly than those with shorter cords. Our product also has a removeable filter, therefore the customer can clean it easily and efficiently, thus freeing up their time so that they can do other things. The long-life AC motor of the hairdryer gives the customer a high-power airflow for a faster drying time. It has three heat and two speed settings and also a cold shot button, which is superior to a similar hairdryer such as the TRESemmé 5542DU...

Hemingway A Farewell to Arms (overview)

Her passion, even though pretended, wakens a desire for emotional interaction in Henry, whom the war has left coolly detached and numb. When Henry is wounded on the battlefield, he is brought to a hospital in Milan to recover. Several doctors recommend that he stay in bed for six months and then undergo a necessary operation on his knee. Corporate Financial Management Glen Arnold Book Review Introduction Reading this book you will receive a brief overview of the financial world and its components. In addition, a brief rundown is given of both primitive and modern economies and the role of the financial manager within an organization. The objective of the firm When people have to make choices in the harsh environment in which modern businesses have to operate, it is necessary to be clear about the purpose of the organization; to be clear about what objective is set for management to achieve. empires did Spain seriously attempt to assert control of Alta California. This was to be done through a combination of military forts (presidios) and mission churches overseen by Franciscan fathers led by Junípero Serra. In 1769, the first parties set north from Baja California, and the line of Spanish settlement along the coast was inaugurated when soldiers and priests established a presidio and mission church at San Diego. By the end of the Spanish colonial period, Alta California had three more presidios (at Monterey, San Francisco, and Santa Barbara) and no fewer than twenty-one missions. In addition to the missions, where the Franciscans ministered to local converts, and the military presidios, small towns or pueblos sprang up. The earliest of these were associated with the missions and presidios, but in 1777 an independent civil pueblo was created at San Jose, and others followed. The pueblos tried to attract settlers with land

In nutrient- enriched seawater, there is a long lag period (40 hours) prior to measurable loss of formaldehyde by presumably biological processes. Formaldehyde in aqueous effluent is degraded by activated sludge and sewage in 4872 hours. In a die-away test, using water from a stagnant lake, degradation was complete in 30 hours under aerobic conditions and 48 hours under anaerobic conditions. Foursyte Saga - The Man of Property

Property"; and to adopt it for the collected chronicles of the Forsyte family has indulged the Forsytean tenacity that is in all of us. The word Saga might be objected to on the ground that it connotes the heroic and that there is little heroism in these pages. But it is used with a suitable irony; and, after all, this long tale, though it may deal with folk in frock coats, furbelows, and a gilt- edged period, is not devoid of the essential heat of conflict. Discounting for the gigantic stature and blood-thirstiness of old days, as they have come down to us in fairy-tale and legend, the folk of the old Sagas were Forsytes, assuredly, in their possessive instincts, and as little proof against the inroads of beauty and passion as Swithin, Soames, or even Young Jolyon. And if heroic figures, in days that never were, seem to startle out from their surroundings in fashion unbecoming to a

Kiindumusteooria

Kiindumusteooria sai populaarseks pärast ettekannet Maailma tervishoiu organisatsioonist, 1951. aastal, millal John Bowlby pakkus: "What is believed to be essential for mental health is that the infant and young child should experience a warm, intimate and continuous relationship with his mother... The long period of helpless infancy of the human species entails serious risks, so it is of crucial importance to survival, that the child and its mother should become attached." See tähendab, et laps peab tundma sooja ja jätkuvat suhet emaga. Vastasel juhul, toob see tõsisemaid probleeme lapse arengus. Kiindumus, seotus (attachment) - emotsionaalne side kahe isiku vahel, ema ja lapse suhte kvaliteedi näitaja · Emotsionaalne kohalolek · Soojuse väljendamine

They can also create an electric shock hazard, since ostensibly "grounded" parts of the equipment, which are often accessible to users, are not at ground potential. Thus the two circuits are no longer isolated from each other, and circuit 1 can introduce interference into the output of circuit 2. If circuit 2 is an audio system, and circuit 1 has large AC currents flowing in it, the interference may be heard as a 50 or 60 Hz hum in the speakers. Question 7 (20 marks) Assume we have a period based measurement system as shown in the below figure. Design the sample clock frequency that we can measure the frequency input with the change from 5 MHz to 5.0001 MHz in 50 counts. Solution: Frequency input at 5 MHz divided by 10000 = 500 Hz. Frequency input at 5.0001 MHz divided by 10000 = 500.01 Hz. Fs Counts read by register at 500 Hz =  x1 500 Hz

ABOUT SERIAL KILLERS

[Your Name] [Instructor] [Class] [Date] ABOUT SERIAL KILLERS INTRODUCTION Let's play a quick game of catchphrase - guess the word. My phrase is two words, and describes a person. Charles Manson. Ted Bundy. Jack the Ripper. Serial killer - serial meaning "arranged in a straight line or succession" (1) and killer meaning "one who kills, or any agent used to neutralize the active property of anything." We tend to have a morbid interest in people who commit murder. Today, I'd like to explain what distinguishes serial killing from mass murders, how long serial killing has been around, and highlight some of the psychological traits common to serial killers. BODY I. Serial killing vs mass murders Now at a glance serial killing and mass murder seems basically the same: one person kills many other people. The distinction between the two is notable: mass murder happens when one person murders mult...

The Historic Centre (Old Town) of Tallinn

The Historic Centre (Old Town) of Tallinn is an exceptionally complete and well-preserved medieval northern European trading city on the coast of the Baltic Sea. The city developed as a significant centre of the Hanseatic League during the major period of activity of this great trading organization in the 13th-16th centuries. The combination of the upper town on the high limestone hill and the lower town at its foot with many church spires forms an expressive skyline that is visible from a great distance both from land and sea. The upper town (Toompea) with the castle and the cathedral has always been the administrative centre of the country, whereas the lower town preserves to a remarkable

Home-reading'' The summoning''

The reason why I chose this book is because I’m interested in fantasy, psychological illnesses and have always wanted to read it when I past the book. It writes about death, zombies, mental illnesses and contains a variety of genres like fantasy, romance and also anxiety. Everything happened in our time somewhere where students have the option to learn Spanish. The main characters are Chloe, Derek, Simon. The story starts with a fourteen year old girl getting her period and seeing a ghost in the bathroom. When the ghost wanted to talk to her, she started yelling so loud that a janitor came and tried to calm her down. Unfortunately it didn’t work and she ran out of the restroom while yelling. On the way down the stairs a couple of teachers tried to stop her but she fought them and because of that they gave her a sedative. After that she was sent to a group home for troubled kids called Lyle House. There she meets Liz, Tori, Rae, Derek, Simon and Peter

Englan was divided into seven ancient kingdoms: Northumbria, Mercia, East Anglia, Essex, Kent, Sussex and Wessex. The period supposedly lasted until the kingdoms began to consolidate into larger units, but the actual events marking this transition are debatable. *St Patric and the Christianization of Ireland was a Christian missionary and is the patron saint of Ireland. Referaat Elton John'ist

Early career (19621969) Dwight became a weekend pianist at the nearby Northwood Hills pub, playing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. He played everything from Jim Reeves country songs "He'll Have to Go" to Irish tribute numbers "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling," old pub favourites such as, "Roll Out The Barrel," hits of the day, "King of the Road," and songs he had written himself. He received a modest, steady income and substantial tips. "During that whole period, I don't think I ever missed a gig," he said later. A stint with a short-lived group called the Corvettes rounded out his time. In 1964, Dwight and his friends formed a band called Bluesology. At the age of 15, with the help of mother Sheila and stepfather "Derf", Reginald By day, he ran errands for a music publishing company; he divided his nights between solo gigs at a London hotel bar and working with Bluesology. By the mid-1960s, Bluesology was backing touring

Bridges presentation

Mostar. Bridges nominated for World Heritage listing also must have legal protection and management mechanisms to ensure their conservation. The existence of protective legislation at the national, provincial, or municipal level is therefore essential and must be clearly stated in the nomination. Guidelines for nominations state that each property should be compared with properties of the same type dating from the same period, both within and outside the nominating State Party's borders. For the purpose of this contextual essay, bridge design and construction is dealt with chronologically by material and by type. In addition to the obvious evaluation factors as age, rarity, integrity, and the fame of the builder, consideration also is given to the substructure (piers, abutments, foundation), the superstructure (beam, arch, truss, suspension, and combinations thereof), the materials of

Tallinn

A wall was built to separate the Upper Town and the Lower Town. In 1285 Tallinn joined the Hanseatic league and became a junction of trade between East and West. Tallinn is said to be built on salt, as it was an important trading commodity. In the 16th century Tallinn had a population of about 7,000 8,000 making it one of the biggest cities in northern Europe. In 1629 Sweden took control of the whole of Estonia. Though hard times continued, the period that followed is known as the "good old Swedish era": foundations were laid for the Estonian school system, the privileges of the nobility were curtailed, local peasants were granted the right to own property, and so on. Peter the Great wanted to open a window onto Europe for Russia so he started the Northern War in 1700. Estonia remained under Russian rule and the Baltic-German nobility vowed allegiance to the Tsar; the barons were restored their former privileges.

Topic - Estonia

Victory Day, when it is left out for the shortest night of the year, followed by another public holiday, Midsummer Day. The Estonian national anthem - entitled My Native Land, My Pride and Joy, was composed in 1848 by Friedrich Pacius, a Finn of German descent. The Estonian- language words were written by Johann Voldemar Jannsen. In 1869 it was performed at the first all-Estonian Song Festival in Tartu and gained popularity during the period of the national movement. After World War I the melody became the national anthem of Estonia and Finland. It was officially adopted in Estonia after the War of Independence in 1920. The anthem was banned during Soviet occupation and another song, My Native Land, My Dearest Love by Gustav Ernesaks (words by Lydia Koidula), became an unofficial anthem at that time and enabled the people to express their feelings of national identity.
