Emma

The Origins Emma is a given female name. It is derived from the Germanic word ermen meaning whole or universal, and was originally a short form of Germanic names that began with ermen. It was introduced to England by Emma of Normandy, who was the wife of king Ethelred II. It was also borne by an 11th-century Austrian saint, who is sometimes called Hemma. After the Norman conquest this name became common in England. It was revived in the 18th century, perhaps in part due to Matthew Prior's poem 'Henry and Emma'. It was also used by Jane Austen for the central character, the matchmaker Emma Woodhouse, in her novel 'Emma'. Popularity Name Emma has been among the top names given to baby girls in the United States, England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Ireland, France,Sweden, Belgium, Canada, Australia, Norway, New Zealand, Hungary, Finland, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain in the past 10 years. Tigers

The male tiger doesn't help her to raise the cubs. Male tigers also don't like being followed and they fight for their territory in order to mate several females. In fact male tigers are a huge danger to young cubs and one of their main enemies. Females also fight for territory but they do it so as to have more food. Mother tiger can track her cubs by scent. She gives her offspring killing lessons in a form of games because playing is a crucial part of survival. Cubs also grow fast and they need regular food. Raising cubs is very demanding. There is also a tiger police in this National Park. The aim of this police is to protect tigers from poachers. Locals respect tigers and they see them as the guardians of the forest. Female tiger's cubs grow fast and they are old enough to eat meat. At the moment it is not a problem because there is plenty of food because it is deer mating season and the deer are less alert to danger

Equality

equal rights and opportunities for everyone, there are still some things that need to be changed. For example the differences of salaries between men and women should be erased. Equality is very important, as a person does not get to choose, where he or she is born, whether she or he is a boy or a girl, what color her or his skin is and how wealthy his or her parents are. Equality should be made an universal idea, existing in every part of the world. Timothy Henry Charles Tamm 10B

I am confident that I am suitable for the job because I am good at organising different leisure activities. Furthermore, I love working with children and I have plenty of ideas what to do in a summer camp. I would like to enquire about the work in the camp. Could you let me know how many people will take part in one group? Could you also inform me if I can eat for free or I have to pay for the food? I would like to know where exactly the summer camp will take place. Also, I wonder how long my working day is and the date it will start. Finally, I am interested in the way wages are paid. Television is a little more than a waste of time

Television is little more than a waste of time There is no doubt that the emergence of television is one of the most revolutionary events in the twentieth century. Almost everyone has a TV at home and watches it every day. Nowadays, people consider watching television as a sign of lazyness or boredom. I think that television has also some good sides and it is a little more than a waste of time. First of all, I think that TV is mainly a source of information. It allows people to get different kinds of information in an easy way. People can reach information in different languages and about different things just by clicking the remote control. We have channels that show information about other countries politics, economy or other news. In that way we can stay informed with the events that are happening from all over the world. of the national money income, while 90 per cent recieve the remaining 55 per cent. The distribution of property is even more uniequal. 1 per cent of the population own 60 per cent of the saleable assets of the nations. Individual incomes range from £1 000 000 a year to £50 per year. This extreme degree of inequality is due to the right of inheritance at present vested in the legal institution of property. New Zealand

Other ethnic groups have arrived from Polynesia (Tonga, Samoa, Cook Islands) with Auckland now being the Polynesia capital of the South Pacific. People from China, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, etc have also settled in New Zealand making for a diverse population mix. History : New Zealand was one of the last corners of the planet to be inhabited by people. Around 950AD the Maori arrived from Polynesia (Tonga and Hawaii) to the northern part of the North Island. There is however evidence of earlier settlement by other more peaceful Polynesian people. After the dutch sailor Abel Tasman visited New Zealand and named it Zeeland, more and more settlers arrived, conflicts over land led to several wars between the British and Maori in the North Island. The South island remained rather peaceful until gold was found there and thousand of people hurried there to look for gold.

to the throne, following her grandfather The Prince of Wales, father The Duke of Cambridge and elder brother Prince George of Cambridge. The British Monarchy is known as a constitutional monarchy. This means that, while The Sovereign is Head of State, the ability to make and pass legislation resides with an elected Parliament. Although The Sovereign no longer has a political or executive role, he or she continues to play an important part in the life of the nation. As Head of State, The Monarch undertakes constitutional and representational duties which have developed over one thousand years of history. In addition to these State duties, The Monarch has a less formal role as 'Head of Nation'. The Sovereign acts as a focus for national identity, unity and pride; gives a sense of stability and continuity; officially recognises success and excellence; and supports the ideal of voluntary service

The real deserts occupy the centre of the Western Plateau. In the very south west there are thin forests of evergreens trees. Australia is the driest inhabited continent, the flattest, and has the oldest and least fertile soils. Only the south-east and south-west corners of the continent have a temperate climate. The northern part of the country, with a tropical climate, has vegetation consisting of rainforest, woodland, grassland, mangrove swamps and desert. Climate is highly influenced by ocean currents, including the El Niño southern oscillation. 4. Land regions Mountains The Great Dividing Range runs along the Pacific ocean. "What makes a good movie?"

What makes a good movie? To make a good movie, the director has to succeed in many different fields. If the movie has great special effects and acting, but the story is very weak, the movie may not be as successful as a movie with moderate effects, acting and story. A good movie consists of three most important elements: story, actors and special effects. The most important part of the movie is the story. Many good movies are based on successful books and thus already have a great story as well as many fans that liked the book and will be looking forward to the movie. Other movies that are not based on any existing stories have to have a better story to be successful because they most likely won't have any real fans before the movie is released. The story can't be too long or too short. It has to have some detail but not too much as that would make the

too. So we can say that Russians are more active than Estonians. We can also say that Russian youngsters take more care about their bodies and health than Estonians. The second hobby I questioned them about was dancing. Dancing can actually be considered as a sport too, so it is also good for the human body. 10.7% of Estonians told me that they love dancing and that they go to dance classes regularly. 19.1% of the Russians said that dancing is a part of their lives. So I can say it again: the young Estonians do not have as active lifestyle as Russians do. The third hobby I am going to compare is learning languages. According to the diagram the second most popular hobby is learning languages. I have seen a lot of Russians in Lasnamäe and in Põhja-Tallinn speaking non of Estonian and receive an impression about that the Russians do not learn languages. But according to the diagram what shows us that 31%

Christmas in Norway

Christmas Day. He would join the party and die during the course of the evening, to return to life. In the early Christian era, the goat came to be associated with the devil and would appear in the party while merry making and celebrations were on.
