Gays as Parents

Gays as Parents Gay adoption is very hot topic today. There are people of the same sex who love each other and want to get children, but as we all know, children cannot be born without mother and father and a gay couple has to adopt to get a child. Some think that a child cannot have mentally healthy childhood if growing up with gay parents. I think that children who are old enough, should decide themselves if they want gay parents or not. I do not see a problem if a thirteen year old kid decides that he preferres gay parents to no parents. But the poblem is that younger children or even babies are usually adopted. They cannot decide so important thing. And here is the problem, to let gays adopt babies or not? I do not have a clear opinion in gay parents. I would like to believe that if a same sex couple has proven that they can raise a kid then they keep their word. I cannot say that it is perfectly

ARE WOMEN BETTER PARENTS THAN MALE ?

INKA ISESEISEV TÖÖ ARE WOMEN BETTER PARENTS THAN MALE ? I think that it is hard to tell who is better parent mum or dad . I have no idea who is the better parent but a parent should give a child everything what a child needs to survive . My father left us when we were little . I have lived all my life with my mum . Sometimes it is hard but I don 't even imagine what life I would have if I should live with my dad . Because I don 't trust him . He was very violent to my mum . He is never there If I need him . My father should pay us alimony every month . He did it few months but now he has not sent us the alimony abot three months . Everytime when he came to our village , he didn 't came to visit us or to ask how we live . I have been thinking about him lately . Just wanna know how is he , is everyting OK and just wanna see him . I think that I don 't even recognize him when i should see him .

Praising Children

It is incredibly important for us all to have a feeling of self-worth and acceptance, but as- children are been praised too much. Are we given the skills to work at a goal instead of expecting to complete it easily because we are told we are "smart"? Are we set up for failure by being told how smart we are, when in all actuality maybe we are right where we should be: in the middle? I have a feeling that the way we praise and are been praised is going to change; not that teachers and parents are going to be overly critical of their children and students, but that the way they encourage their kids will be more equal to others. We should be inspired to work harder for knowledge not for grades. B.K 11c

Dear Mum

Dear mum, Mum, you know how much I love dogs. I can't stop thinking about dogs. I know you don't like dogs. But when you see a little puppy in our home, you will change your mind. Of course dog needs extra money, but I have some savings. I will change my pocket money for a dog. Mum, don't worry about walking dog, feeding dog or cleaning after dog. I will do all! Please mum, let's have a dog. You don't have to worry about noise what dog makes. Let's buy headphones for all family. No broken things, because we will take cultured dog, who don't scratch or break things. Dad agreed with me with having a dog. He said that I need to ask you, and that's what I am doing right now. You don't have to do almost anything, just let me have a dog. I will wait your letter as soon as possible. With love, your daughter

increases, which may be useful in the future, when they are going to work. On the other hand computers can be children enemy, as well as for everybody, who do not know the dangers of using computers. Many people use computers and some of them wants to use ohter people, especially small children and teenagers. Using the computer for several hours each day impairs eyesight. All of us should make small pauses during the work. In my opinion children use computers too much and parents should defenitely limit the time, if they want to protect their children. Children also should be informed about the dangers of using computers.

Should parents be obliged to immunize their children against childhood diseases?

Should parents be obliged to immunize their children against childhood diseases? Or do individuals have the right to choose not to immunize their children? Some people argue that the state has the right to make parents immunize their children. It seems to me that immunisation is necessary because it stops spreading diseases all over the world. Preventive medicine is a very useful way to eradicate illnesses because by applying it we do not need to cure diseases or treat their symptoms, we just prevent them. Every year thousand of children’s lives are saved thanks to timely vaccination. In addition, history also demonstrates us that childhood illnesses of previous centuries such

Should children be encouraged to do sports?

Should children be encouraged to do sports? The majority of parents do not know how to make their children understand the importance of exercising, especially because of the amout of technology no child will rather go out and play football than sitting at home and watching TV or playing video games. Should we encourage children to do sports? Firstly, doing sports is important for our health and if children do not do sports it may cause health conditions when they get older for example overweight. Choosing an exercise should

What methods should parents and governments use to tackle obesity in schoolchildren?

obesity in schoolchildren? At the beginning of 21st century obesity amongst has become a major issue in many highly developed countries such as Germany and United Kingdom. Kids are participating in less physical activities then before and food that has high sugar and fat content is easily accessible for them. Thanks to modern day society it does not seem like the rates are going down themselves any time soon. What could government and/or parents do to make youngsters lifestyle healthier? One approach that parents should consider is to influence their children to part-take in a heathy lifestyle. It is probably true to say that kids who are used to eating junk food and low physical activity are more likely to become overweight sooner or later. By changing living habits and stepping up as good role models parents should adapt food that is beneficial and doing sports into normal everyday life. If this is what kids are used to doing

Monologue

Some people say that children should be given a chance to solve their problems on their own. Some people say that parents should make all their children’s decisions until the children are 18. By the law of our country, parents have the right to make important decisions about their children's lives. Parental obligations end when a child reaches the age of majority, which is 18 years old. Until that, parents are free to make all decisions relating to the welfare of their child as they see fit. Because of that law, some people say that parents should make all their children’s decisions until the children are 18. However, other people say that children should be given a chance to solve their problems on their own. There are parents who prefer to make all decisions for their kids. Some of them do it because they are afraid to see their child suffering through

Sandra Bullock

The reason I´ve chosen her is that she is my favourite actress and people had said that I look same as her and I hope you will lear a few things about her. As for her background she was born in July 26, 1964, in Arlington, a Virginia suburb of Washington, D.C. Did you know that her mother, Helga Bullock was a German opera singer and her father, John W. Bullock was an American voice teacher, who was born in Alabama. You might not know that Sandra grew up on the road with her parents and younger sister and spent much of her childhood in Nuremberg, Germany. She often performed in the children´s choirs since she was 5. That singing talent later came in handy for her role as an aspiring country singer in North Carolina, where she studied acting. Shortly afterward she moved to New York to pursue a career on the stage. Her breakthrough role was in Demolition Man, after which she starred in several successful films including Speed, While You Were Sleeping and The Net

Smacking children

Smacking children Parents all over the world use smacking in the purpose of discipline, even though in reality it is child abuse. Children's behaviour needs to be controlled but they shouldn't be suffering. Firstly it seems to me that parents who continuously beat their children don't care about them. Although few slight slaps for punishment are enough parents still beat them hard. Parents should be the ones who protect children not the ones who children have to be afraid of. In addition some parents equate smacking with discipline although these two are not the same. Teaching is discipline, smacking is punishment. Parents who don't smack their children still discipline them. They are just using ways that don't involve pain. Moreover the law is against all kinds of physical punishments. Some parents still keep beating their children

Friends have more influence than family

Friends have more influence than family Mikk Ludvi 10.a Parents always want best for their children. However when people are teenager they don't want their parent's advises or opinions .In this period the most important thing in young adults life is being popular, having more friend, more parties or more fun. For them parents are only bar to achieve that. Parents don't influence their children and they don't understand each other. Therefore I think teenagers are influenced by their friends more than their parents. Teenagers can get along well with their peers easily because they have same expectations about life. In school, in their social life they always with their friends. They can understand each other because they have same viewpoýnt and same experiences. For example, when you have a boyfriend you can't share it with your

Truancy in school – individual responsibility

why is it an individual responsibility. Truancy in school is a very serious problem nowadays. Unfortunately many students have lost their motivation to study. According to the BBC 400,000 children were persistently absent from England's schools in the past year and missed about one month of school each. The effect that poor attendance at school can have on a child's education can be permanent and damaging but skipping should be child's own responsibility and it is not right to punish the parents for it. Students have many reasons why they are skipping school, mostly they do not like the teachers or the subjects that they are taught. They tend think that they won't need those subjects in their future life. Some children are just lazy and irresponsible. Also one serious reason is bullying. Bad relationships between the classmates make students to skip the classes. People, no matter how old they are should learn to take responsibility for their actions.

Advertising has a bad influence on children

Commercials and ads are not only directed to adults but also for children's. The good thing of advertising is that it helps us to become aware of the products in the market and the bad thing is the negative effect on childrens. To begin with, childrens are defenseless. They do not understand the ads or commercials, they do not know that it is only a business plan. Advertisements are made in such a way as to attract the attention of children. And that leads to there that children ask their parents to buy some certain products. Children are very useful customers for companies, they help businesses to increase their profits. Secondly, children are often able to remember messages targeted towards adults and kids remember the content in advertisements what will have a influence on children for a very long time. Very large influence on children has junk food commercials or ads. When children see on TV junk food commercials they want to try it, and when they do, they become to like junk

Home Schooling

http://www.abiks.pri.ee There is big different between home school and state school. The way how there are taught is different too. There are arguments both for an advantage and disadvantage. Firstly in home school parents have the freedom to decide what to teach. Furthermore they have the freedom to decide how to teach. Secondly parents can teach their children more than just facts and when children learning what interests them, it motivates them to learn even more. But on the other hand home schooling isn't the best way. In state schools are more children and they can speak between each other and it is helping in future. Moreover children learn how to judgement with others. In state schools child can do teamwork and it is very usefull. To sum up there are some good things and bad things in home schooling

Accidents will occur in the best-regulated families

Accidents will occur in the best-regulated families. Secondly,to many parents are important only work and money. So they dont care about their children and dont know what they do.When children need a good advise then parents dont have time and children have to decide by theirself. Thirdly,best-regulated families think that they are perfect families and never not one accident will happen with them. But they are mistaken.Accidents can happen with every family and with everyone. It dont care that are you best-regulated family or arent so perfect family

Gay Families

They want to legalize gay marriages and many countries allow people of the same gender to marry. Gays want to adobt children too, but people are more against it. Gay marriages are more for that people would accept them and get more used with them. Marriage makes them more equal with straight people and more rights. This helps them adopting children too. It shows, that two people have a great bound and they're able to adobt and raise a child. They may be good parents, but it's going to be a hard life for that child because of his gay parents. And maybe parents would even effect child sexual orientation. Surrounding ideology tells us what is beautiful, wrong, good and so on. So when childs parents are gays, maybe it can effect child too and make him gay. In my opinion gays are good average people, but I don't support their marriages and child adopting, because gay men spread AIDS. If they would be normal people in our society and

Friends have more influence than family

Friends have more influence than family A lot of peole think, that teenagers care more about their friends than family. Some in the other hand, don't. But why do people even think, that teenagers have more influence than family? For sure, children love their parents and parents love them. Family always wants the best for the child and every child should appreciate that. Parents can always help the child, for example when the child is making wrong decisions in life. Parents know you the best, and in my mind, it's necessary to have you family influence the most. In the other hand, friends, who are at the same age and who are giving you the help with making decisions in life, can't guaratnee that their information is the best. When you are at young age, definitely family has more influence than friends. You haven't found out the real and fake friends. The more you grow, the more you get to know people and their skill of being a good friend

THE EFFECT OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA ON YOUNG PEOPLE

How to recognize whether the program is appropriate or not? The answer is pacing. If you see, that certain TV program is slow-paced and has the narrative form, then you should know that it can help to develop the long-term memory. But if the program is frenetically-paced, then it usually contains a violence that can inhibit the development of young people and also make children act impulsively and inappropriately. The violence on TV is the main issue that parents are worried about, as violence has a numbing effect on emotions. Moreover, young people can accept violence as the way of solving problems. I believe, that parents should properly control, what their children watch on TV and how long. In my opinion, there should be certain rules for children concerning the media. In addition to that, parents should talk to young people and explain why certain programs are bad or good.

People whould have the rights to design their own babies

People should have the right to design their own babies. Have you ever caught yourself thinking about what if you had the power to design your own baby? Most likely everyone has. It is every parent's hope that their child will turn out to be a perfect human being without any physical or mental disabilities. But is it moral? First of all, if parents could design their own baby everyone would be perfect. What is more there would not be any babies born with illnesses or disabilities, both mental and physical. This is good news both to parents and children because living together with a handicap or being one is a very hard and sad thing. Another major point is, how far would people go designing their babies. One thing is to make sure that your baby is healthy but to design your child's appearance is superficial,

Parents raising young children are usually quite clear that their major estate planning concern is providing for the minors if the parents suddenly die. ,,Providing" means deciding both who will raise the child and who manage any money or property that the child legally owns. To arrange for the transfer of your property to your beneficiaries after you die, you must use one or some combination of various legal devices. The two most popular are will and living trusts. Wills A will, the simplest estate planning device to prepare, is a document that leaves some or all your property to beneficiaries you choose

emotional reaction to others (psychcentral.com/blog/archives/2009/03/30/why-do-we-swear) Thirdly, although swearing may have positive sides as well, it is still seen as inappropriate or "bad language", which comes from bad manners or low education. Especially problematic is it when children swear, although they may not mean anything bad, or do not even know what the word means, they simply imitate, what they have heard from parents, for example. Usually, when a child swears, it may show to others, how the child`s parents have raised him/her. Of course there are certain situation as well, where swearing is unacceptable, for example formal events, among people who are complete strangers, with parents, grandparents, at school etc. Although swearing may be in some ways a positive phenomenon, people should use swear words only when really necessary or where it is acceptable. Of course, parents should teach their children,

Essee "Teenager and pocket money"

Should teenagers nowadays earn their pocket money. Many children earn their pocket money by doing some jobs at home, but lots of them do not need to work for it. I think that it depends on the specific children whether his/her parents should pay him/her. My parents do not give me money for bringing firewood or mowing the lawn. They have never paid me for such jobs and I think I would feel rather bad if they did. I have understood that I need these domestic jobs done as much as everybody else in my family. My mother doesn't get paid for feeding me, so why should I be better than her. I know a family where one of the children gets paid for simple domestic jobs and the other does not. It seems unfair to me.

I don`t think they should wear school uniforms because it deprises kinds and teens of expressing themselves by what they wear. Kids should have the sight to wear what they want to. Everything would be dull and boring if everyone came to school looking the same. I and the other students in estonia think that parents shouldn`t have more say in school curricula. 39% British students believe that it is necessary. Parents can talk to their child at home about their difference of opinion. Parents shouldn`t be telling teachers what they should be teaching. In conclusion Estonian and British pupils have different aims of education. Standard of education is rated mostly ,,good" in both countries. British students tend to think that corporal punishment is necessary in school.

Beauty pageants for small girls should be banned

Beauty pageants for small girls should be banned Today's beauty pageants are detrimental to a child's development. These kinds of competitions can lead to low selfconfidence and poor body image. While most beauty pageants cater strictly to girls, there are a growing number that include boys as well. I firmly believe that taking part of beauty pageants is pressured by contestants' parents. It is their vision of how their children should look and act like. Some children do not want to partake in those competitions because it is tiring and chaotic, some children even do not understand what it is all about, because they are too young for that. In my opinion, a child who looks absolutely gorgeous without fake teeth, spraytan and an enormous wig is forced to wear all of it just to measure up to her parent wishes.

P.E for me in real life is very important, because if I want to be healthy and look good, I have to do sport and move a little. I think that it is important that your parents do sports too. It is much better, if you and your parents do some sports with you, so they give good example. In summer you can ride a bike, swim, run or play ball games together. In winter skiing or skating is possible. It's very good if your parents help you to get in good shape. I do sports five times a week, and that is good, because I feel good after that and that keeps me healthy. If I don't do any sport, I get tired very quickly. LETTER, ESSAY, REPORT

In addition, I would like to know how much payment I am going to get. I would appreciate it if you could inform me as soon as possible. Yours sincerely, Mari Mets ESSAY 2010 Stress in the Life of Young People Today Stress is a natural part of young people's lives. Negative stress can affect people's ability to be positive. I'd probably agree with the statement. To begin with, one of the main sources of stress for young people today can be relationships with parents. Everybody knows that fighting with parents can affect ours ability to be positive. Moreover, parents are the closest persons in our lives and fighting with them break us. For instance, I am always so depressed after arguing with my mother, I do not want to hurt her feelings. In my view, young people should avoid fighting with parents to cope with this source of stress. Secondly, school is another main source of stress and can affect people's ability to be positive.

Report: Use of mobile phones in school

Use of mobile phones in school Introduction This report explains why mobile phones are important for students, and makes recommendations about their use in the school. This information comes from several students and their parents. Why mobile phones are necessary 1 Some students chat in English and find this helpful. 2 It might be necessary to phone home if a student has transport problems. 3 Students' parents might need to contact them urgently if some other emergency have had occurred Recommendations Everyone agrees that mobile phones can be irritating but they can be extremely useful at times. Students should check that phones are switched off before classes start. We do not believe they should be banned. Kristjan Heinrand 12b

The Most Exciting Holiday of My Life

The Most Exciting Holiday of My Life About a year ago I went to Spain to spend a week of my summer holiday there. I was there with my family and with aunt and her husband. We were in a nice hotel near the beach. The second day I wanted to go shopping in the city but my parents disagreed. They suggested that we should go sightseeing. At last we found that we could go walk in the beach where also were many shops. But it was miles away, so we had to rent a car. We could rent a car from our hotel's reception. Unfortunately we were told that all cars were hired out. Then my parents suggested to spend the day swimming in a hotel pool, but I didn't feel spending my day like this. We found a place to hire cars near the hotel. The only available car was

It was a perfectly ordinary Friday evening

. we realized that it was just the floor board .. we moved on .. it was dark and freaky. Moving to the next room, we found an old broken sofa with black table. The room next to us opened up a hideous view so that I nearly fainted. Hanging down from the ceiling our neightbour. Her skin was blue and he was completely covered in blood. We stareted running away with sister and then noticed a letter:'' Curiosity can cost the lives of your loved ones.'' Immediately we were thinking of our parents .. without any doubt I started running to home, I had tears in my eyes because of fear. When we came to cottage, we noticed that house was dark, however, we ran into the house ... the parents were not there. We had a panic, but we decided to go up to the second floor .Going up the stairs I step on something,I raised it up, it was our mother's bloody finger. When I reached up,I noticed that my sister was missing. I was alone and I didn't know what to do. I went back to find my family

What are the best ways to prevent teenagers from committing crimes

What are the best ways to prevent teenagers from committing crimes Nowadays there are many reasons why teenagers could be influenced into committing crimes. A lack of life experience can lead teenagers into criminal and even dangerous situations, such as robbery, taking drugs or drinking alcohol. I think, there are many ways to prevent teenagers from committing crimes. Firstly, I think, that teenagers lifestyle is their parents responsibility. Parents have to teach teenagers how to control their anger. Also it shouldn't be allowed for teenagers to watch cruel movies with violence. Moreover there are different programs, which help teenagers to use communication as a mean of handle conflicts, arguments and misunderstandings. Also there should be special lessons at school, which will help student to overcome with their problems. In conclusion I want to say, that there are many ways how to prevent teenagers from committing crimes

’Anita and Me’ by Meera Syal

village of Tollington in the Midlands in the 1960s. The book follows Meena during her pre-teen years as she is desperate to fit in with the other children in her neighbourhood while forever feeling like an outsider because she is "different". She and her family are the only immigrants in the village. They are trying to work out how to fit into British society while attempting to maintain their own culture. Meena's house is always full of a constant stream of ethnic visitors and her parents seem to see no need to integrate futher. Namely, her parents considered every Indian immigrant in England as a friend or even as a part of the family. Meena's family are keen to see her keeping up the family's cultural tradition. Meena on the other hand, is caught between two cultures. She is having a difficult time adjusting to her surroundings, wishing she were blonde and carefree like her 14-year-old neighbor, Anita (Brewster)
