Litter in our country

Litter is a problem throughout the country, particularly in urban areas and in the more populated areas of Kiev, Kharkov, Donetsk and others. People litter on the banks of the rivers, in parks, in the streets. A lack of bins is not a major factor in littering. Sometimes you can see the bin in the street, and a pile of litter half a meter away from it. The main reason of littering is behaviour. The more litter people see on the street the more inclined to litter. For example, cinema complexes, football ground and theatres are cleaned up but such areas as parks and streets are neglected. But people don't think that litter can be

Well, let's start the first part which is the bright side of computers and web. Nowadays, the Internet is probably most famous for the ability to spread information, fact or fiction. Anyone can search the globe, visit local newspapers in foreign countries and mail service made possible connections among distant people. The Internet will have positive consequences in people's everyday lives because it increases the quality of communications among people. People with easy access to others feel better connected and more strongly supported by others which leads to happiness. Now, secondly, about the drawbacks of modern life technology. The ease of electronic communication probably leads to weaker social ties, because people have less reason to leave their homes and actually interact face-to-face. It allows people to work from their home, to form friendships from home, to vote and discuss social issues from home. Internet

The ones that survived began to stake claims again and the fighting resumed, though on a smaller scale. Newborn armies were again utilized, but with more care and control this time to avoid additional Volturi involvement. Jasper then tells Bella about becoming a confederate solider in Houston when he was 16 years old by claiming to be 20. But If that person still does help others no matter of the difficulty then it is clear that he/she has a good inside of herself/himself. God is good and wishes the best for everyone, but it does not happen because of the devil, because his mission is to keep everything equal even if it doesn't seem like there are equal amount of good and bad people in world. Bullying

Bullying I hadn't faced the real bullying, I think I have really carried only some smaller bullying casts. I don't even know what to talk about. But well, we all make mistakes, sometimes bigger and sometimes smaller. I'm going to talk about a short story about bullying in my childhood in my other school. We had a really great class and almost everybody held together. But like in almost every class, there is someone different from others and that may cause them problems with the other people. We had very many these classmates who were a little bit bullied and couldn't stand for themselves. There was a girl, who wasn't very thin and that's the main purpose she was bullied. She wasn't very rich also and she lived only with her mother. The boys of our class called her "fat" and so on. She did a face like she didn't care but I know that she really did and it hurt her. I and some other of my friends got along well with her but

provide public goods. Some ideologies, such as libertarian capitalism, are often rebuked, because in such a system all property in a society would be privately owned, away from any state involvement or regulation. Libertarians counter that potential free riders within their system could face social ostracism, which may deter those who accept services without donating any payment for them. Libertarians stress that the need to healthily co- operate and interact with others in society would lessen the risk and likelihood of free riders. 3 The Example The free rider problem has deep roots in more general bargaining, and issues to do with incentive compatibility. That is to say that, when involved in bargaining problems, players may often bid less than they are prepared to pay in the hope of improving their own position

Milking machine

Milking  machine Merlin-Hans Hiiekivi Regards about inventing a  milking machine • Development of a usable milking machine took several decades of trial and error. • Some editors of 19th century dairy and ag publications acknowledged a need for a good milking machine, but, were dissatisfied with all that were being offered. Others discouraged all attempts at machine milking, stating that it was unnatural or intrinsically injurious to the cow. . Early Cow Milking Machines • The earliest devices for mechanical milking were tubes inserted in the teats to force open the sphincter muscle, thus allowing the milk to flow. • Skillfully made tubes of pure silver, gutta percha, ivory, and bone were marketed in the mid-19th century, and, in fact, a few were still being sold well into the 20th century.

Identity as a personal project

a concept of me and my identity. Word “going” means for me, that it´s a process. Like every process, mine has semi-starts (attempts) and semi-finishes (achieved goals). During this process, my identity is changing, improving and I think the most important in this process is lifelong learning. It helps to meet new people, not to stop and to stay reflecting about what I´ve done and what I will do next. It consists of changes and learning. “Through others we become ourselves.” Lev S. Vygotsky I really think that the biggest addiction is communication with others. That’s because we need to know, what they are thinking, how do they react for our behaviour and speech. On the special place here is understanding of “person” and it´s context. I do agree to Giddens, that it varies culturally. For example, the families are different – big or small, how many generations live together and what are they celebrating

To swear or not to swear ?

positive manner, in the form of jokes and humor, storytelling, self-deprecation or even social commentary. If one may want to emphasize how great one feels something is, a swear words emphasizes the positive feelings you have for that object, situation, person or event ("This concert is fucking awesome!"). Sure, one could just say "This concert is awesome," but the addition of the swear word emphasizes the emotional reaction we have toward it -- and easily conveys that emotional reaction to others (psychcentral.com/blog/archives/2009/03/30/why-do-we-swear) Thirdly, although swearing may have positive sides as well, it is still seen as inappropriate or "bad language", which comes from bad manners or low education. Especially problematic is it when children swear, although they may not mean anything bad, or do not even know what the word means, they simply imitate, what they have heard from parents, for example. Usually, when a child

Tolerance.

and you see him getting beaten up by a bunch of bullies without no apparent reason, what would you do? More then a few of us pretend as if they had not seen anything. I myself would feel awful, but I wouldn't know what to do either. Although I would condone myself with the idea, that life is difficult and it's just something you have to deal with. But does tolerance mean that all manners should be accepted? No, of course not. Manners that disrespect or hurt others, like being mean or bullying, or manners that break social rules, like lying or stealing, should not be tolerated. Tolerance is about accepting people for who they are -- not about accepting bad behavior. Tolerance also means treating others the way you would like to be treated. Nobody wants to be mocked or even be a victim of physical violence. In reality, we have no idea how much pain our small insignificant words can cause. We may think

Tolerance and diversity

But always be opened to get to know about these differences. If your behaviour do not accord to the persons expectations then it will hurt him and you will get disrespected. Many of us don't have the opportunity to live a healthy and full life , that is why we should always treat each other equally. Tolerance is all about politeness against people from other countries with other religions and cultures. People like this never discriminate others against on the basis of their sex, colour, religion, culture and so on. It is about a norm of polite society when you are interacting with another person with a different background. This means that you don't define your religion by saying "I'm not like those people over there." It means that you describe what you believe and practice it in positive ways, with as little reference to other religions as possible. Then

The highest result of education is tolerance

But in all seriousness my grandma once said to me: `'Oh, my child, never be mean to people, tolerate them, be patient and kind. Even to those who you do not agree with. That makes you better and smarter.'' I have lived by those words. And I think every person in this world should. After all, the highest result of education is not only about having good grades. It is about having an open-mind with the people around you during the process of your education, about how much you have learned from others. Today, I think I have proved the accuracy of Mrs. Keller's quote quite well. I hope you all here happen to be tolerating people. But we should not forget a quote said by Bill Maher "Don't get so tolerant that you tolerate intolerance." Thank you!

Should smoking be banned?

Another argument is that it is human tendency to do exactly those things which are forbidden. So, if smoking is banned in public places, adults and teens are more likely to smoke and find their own means to evade this law to continue with the habit. Lastly, when smokers who are habitual and addicted, may experience smoking withdrawal symptoms such as irritability, anger, etc, if they cannot smoke immediately. Therefore, in this condition and under stress, they might cause a problem to others. On the other hand, whether the smoker is using public transport or is in a restaurant, the people around him are bound to inhale the smoke coming out of his cigarette, so making them prone to all the diseases an active smoker gets. Thus, if smoking is banned, spread of these diseases can be checked. Secondly, it will put pressure on the smoker to quit. Since, he will be unable to smoke in public places, he will learn how to live without smoking a cigarette for long hours. Moreover,

"Career and Employment" Homereading

But Kate Hilpern discovers that plenty of help is at hand Some of the jobs that career changers are most keen to break into PR and teaching, among them are the very same jobs that people are queuing to get out of, says John Lees, author of How to Get a Job You'll Love and Take Control of Your Career. Many of us get to the point, whether in our twenties, thirties, forties or fifties where we decide to change careers. Some of us will make radical changes, while others will move to the edge of their comfort zone, perhaps shifting from acupuncturist to homeopath or PR office to journalist. But the key to making the right decision, says Lees, is to bring your dream back down to life with a hard thump. "I always say to people, 'Find out what you will actually be doing in the job of your dreams. What does the nitty-gritty day-to- day work involve?'" Conversely, he says, people should not be put off by their dreams. "If you did a straw poll

Kafka's Hunger Artist

Kafka's Hunger Artist Kafka, in his masterpiece "The Hunger Artist," suggests that humans can never satisfy their desires. This is illustrated through the metaphorical hunger artist for whom nourishment is not being nourished at all. The viewing public's interest is derived from their desire to see the hunger artist cheating, but to view this would put an end to that desire. Finally, Kafka presents this idea while the artist is at the circus and describing when people wish to view the starved man. The hunger artist's nourishment is spiritual. The man only wishes to be honored by the public. As he continuously spirals downward in his health, he looses all forms of material nourishment. As the days go on, there is conflict between the artist and the audience, as they do not believe him honest in claiming not to have eaten. By searching for the audience's approval, a symbol for spiritual nourishment, he loses both material and spirit...

The British - Who Are They?

Many auditoriums were constructed across the country. The most famous British playwright is obviously William Shakespeare. He lived from 1564 to 1616. During that time he wrote about 40 plays, which are still played and used in today's theatre. His plays are performed more often than those of any other playwright. The first professional woman playwright was Aphra Behn. Nowadays there are not so many world famous dramatists in England but the memory of William Shakespeare and many others has preserved until today. Important modern playwrights include Alan Ayckbourn, John Osborne, Harold Pinter, Tom Stoppard, and Arnold Wesker. Music Many British music composers have made major contributions to world's music, and are known internationally. They also have many orchestras including BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia etc. The British were one of the two main nations in the development of rock and roll

Modern Hero

It used to take a long journey and a fascinating victory to be recognized as a hero but nowadays it has become much easier. We give the title "hero" away much faster and there is actually no surprise to that- there aren't really any monsters left to fight or people to fight them. For example we share the title every evening on TV news (TV3 Eestimaa uhkus) to people who have done a good act. It has both-cons and pluses. The pluses are that showing people their deeds should encourage others to help out in case possible but in the other hand giving away the title too easily ruins its meaning. If all you need is one act of goodness to be a hero, then why bother yourself any more? I think giving away the title on everyday news has decreased the number of possible real heroes who would go to war in case needed or risk their own life for someone's else's etc. I feel like the real heroes have died out and the only ones we are left are fictional.

He sometimes acts like a 13-year-old but in the same time he can be quite reasonable. Holden´s mood swings and trastic changes of feelings could even could mean that he had somekind of bipolar disorder. He could literally hate a person in one second and love in the next. He criticises others alot for being phony. Only persone he really seemed to be fond of was his little sister Phoebe. The book has a slightly depressing undertone because Holdens thougts about the situation he was in and his surroundings were often very gloomy. The lousy hotel where he stayed was probably the gloomiest part of the book. The author uses slang and repeats often same words which is essentially quite similar to something that a teenager would do. This does not make, however, the text duller but makes it

Good morning! My name is Marianne Kümnik. I will be speaking today about strawberries. My presentation will last for about 10 minutes. Please can you save your questions till the end. Choosing Cultivars Some cultivars perform better than others, but it is difficult to predict which will grow best in a particular garden. Perhaps the best way to decide which cultivars to grow is to find out what works well for neighbours or local commercial growers. Before planting strawberries in a large area it’s good to try several promising cultivars Some cultivars that perform well: • Earliglow—perhaps the best-flavored cultivar, it is among the earliest to ripen. • Northeaster—ripens about the same time as Earliglow

Before Sal met Dean he was quite reserved and shy, but later Sal becomes almost as outgoing as his new friend. Sal is inspired by the wildness that is in Dean Moriarty and wishes to be brave like him. Sal sees Dean as his hero and role model thus overlooking Dean's faults and protecting him when others call Dean crazy. Dean makes many mistakes throughout the novel, but Sal quickly forgives him and everything starts from the beginning. In some ways Sal envies the madness of Dean, but is unable to replicate it himself, unless he is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Sal and women. The beginning of On the Road already gives away that Sal is not good with women and this is proven many times in the book. Sal sees women as a way to be pleasured and entertained.

My Magna Carta.

My Magna Carta. When I first started my own Magna Carta, I thought what's the most near heart and important to me. I chose two main topics, what I find important and relevant. I'm sure that I'm not the onl one who thinks like that. The first thing I would do, is forbid bullying. What is bullying? Bullying is the use of force, threat or duress to abuse, terrorize or aggressively dominate others. There are different types of victims. One of those is the one that ignores all the hate and insulting what comes at him/her. The other one takes it all by heart and seriously. Words can hurt, a lot. Most of the people don't realize what are they causing the victim, when bullying him/her. The worse cause that bullying can cause, is suicide. There is 7% of young people who attempt suicide every year. Nearly 30% of students don't go to school, because they don't want to get bullied.

Islam

In some verses (ayat), the quality of Islam as an internal conviction is stressed: "Whomsoever God desires to guide, He expands his breast to Islam." Other verses connect islm and dn (usually translated as "religion"): "Today, I have perfected your religion (dn) for you; I have completed 1|Page My blessing upon you; I have approved Islam for your religion." Still others describe Islam as an action of returning to God--more than just a verbal affirmation of faith. Articles of faith According to the Qur'an all Muslims have to believe in God, his revelations, his angels, his messengers, and in the "Day of Judgment". Also, there are other beliefs that differ between particular sects. The Sunni concept of predestination is called divine decree, while the Shi'a version is called divine justice. Unique to the Shi'a is the doctrine of Imamah, or the political

The art of dance

The art of dance Kristiina Moosel, N-14 There’s 7,3 billion humans on the planet Earth right now. [1] All of us know how to dance. Some of us just might not know it. But why are people dancing? With the latest decades more and more people have started dancing. They all have their own reasons and ways how and why they’re doing it. Some of us do it to entertain others and themselves, some are doing it as an art form. There’s people, who are communicaiting by dancing and those who work out or even meditate by doing it. In my case, I’m doing it because of all the above. [2] What is „A Dance“? Dance is the art of movement of the body, usually rhythmically and to music, using prescribed or improvised steps and gestures. "A dance" is any one prescribed sequence of such movements, or the music to which it is

Correlation between brand longevity and the diffusion of innovations theory

) Late majority – in many general articles the early and late majority are not differentiated, rather called just ‘majority’. So the late ones just are on the later end of the majority. Laggards – they are the very last ones who go with the change. Usually just because that everything else around them has changed and thus, they need to conform in order to fit. (The people who still have the phones with buttons or even the old wheel-dial phones at home.) ‘Innovation spreads when others either observe the early adopters and imitate them to replicate their profits or communicate with early adopters and are persuaded or induced to adopt.’ Markus (1987 p. 494). Important parts of the innovation life cycle: Opinion leaders – someone who is able to influence other individuals; earned and maintained by technical competence or social accessibility. Change agents/agencies – individuals/companies that influence the publics innovation

among poor people is higher than average. In developed countries tramps ( ) , hobos (-) , dossiers ( ) , down-and- outs , as they are called, can be found sleeping in derelict ( .) houses or on park benches . () If they are a nuisance( ) to passers-by, police usually tell them to move on. How and why do people become down-and outs in w elfare ( ) countries? There `s no easy answer to this problem. Some have consciously rejected ( ) society, others feel that society has rejected them. Still others prefer the life of a tramp. Apperances are deceitful!

alive, don't possess an intellect, so it is much easier to define the essence of it's meaning and purpose. Humans have divine gift of speech, abstract thinking and freedom of action. We can't but agree that it's very difficult to define, what is hiding behind good looks. Our mind is used to assume that beauty contains only good things. We forget that beauty can also be dangerous. This rule can be applied to some people that use their appearance to harm others for their own profit. Good looking people are called lucky and others that don't fall under that category are extremely jealous as usual. Pretty face and nice figure can also be used. There's nothing bad in it, of course. We see famous movie stars and celebrities doing it every day. The story is totally different in everyday life. People who are attractive get used to the attention and admiration. They get proud and think that everything that they reach is due to the way they look

Motivation Letter

In addition, I keep track of food industry bywatching scientific TV programmes in English to learn about essential vocabulary. My favourites are "Take Five" on WZZM and "How do they do it" on Discovery channel. Besides, I try hardest to have a worthy average grade and graduate with magna cum laude.. Regarded as a persistant person, I will continue to carry out any task until I succeed. I must admit I am a shy person, however, I gladly work in a team. I prefer to listen to the views of others and express mine. In other words, I am always ready to make a compromise for successful collaboration. For instance, during group work, I always have a lot of ideas how the material can be logically presented. Taking into account and respecting the opinions of others, I try each time adjust to the choice of the group, and even ready for improvisation. Regarding the laboratory works, I tend to distribute work so that I was comfortable to work and to my partner.

Nimetu

did not start out as the most likeable one, yet oddly enough, she ended up being my favourite. The reason for that is simple: she portrayed a present-day woman who might have been vain, and at times, careless but she was also fairly independent and knew how to take care of herself in a world where women were thought of as nothing more than merely housewives. I truly respect the qualities she possessed, even though they were not always admirable and considerate of others. The number one trait I liked about Jordan as a character was her independence and the fact that she was not reliant on men, which cannot be said about Daisy and Myrtle. All the female characters were in their twenties but Jordan was the only one who still had not got married nor had a child. She had her own ideals and goals, and she stood for them without hesitation. However, by the end of the novel, she did get engaged, which can be

One good reason.

by Katya Novozilova One good reason Blink-182 is a popular punk band from California formed in 1992 by Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and Scott Raynor. One of the best song they have is "One good reason". It says about mums and dads who don't understand that kids want to be special in clothiers, music, so why they say to them what to wear, give them a reason why kids need to be like others. Children can just have fun and live how they like, because soon they will grow up and life wouldn't be so easy, because in childhood kids don't worry and they are happy!
