The Most Influential Figures in British History

The Most Influential Figures in British History There are many important historical figures, who have helped shape Britain into what it is today. In my opinion Elizabeth I, Queen Victoria and Winston Churchill are the ones who stand out and have had the biggest impact on British history. Firstly, Elizabeth I made a great impression on British history as she kept England from major wars during her reign, the kingdom expanded and she supported culture. The rule of Elizabeth I can be called a peaceful time as England did not enter any huge conflicts. She managed to keep good relations with other great countries. However, the defeat of the Spanish

Smacking children

Smacking children Parents all over the world use smacking in the purpose of discipline, even though in reality it is child abuse. Children's behaviour needs to be controlled but they shouldn't be suffering. Firstly it seems to me that parents who continuously beat their children don't care about them. Although few slight slaps for punishment are enough parents still beat them hard. Parents should be the ones who protect children not the ones who children have to be afraid of. In addition some parents equate smacking with discipline although these two are not the same. Teaching is discipline, smacking is punishment. Parents who don't smack their children still discipline them. They are just using ways that don't involve pain. Moreover the law is against all kinds of physical punishments. Some parents still keep beating their children. They think that it's their own business how they raise their kids but law is for everybody

Disadvantages and advantages of using smart-phones in a lesson

like in the old times. Now, they can simply enter a word and get it, or when they have to read a excercise or a story, then they can access to it very fast. Also, nowadays society is accustomed to use smart-phones and it is easier to them remember new words or important information. Therefore, smart-phones have advantage to make one a better learner and do things faster. A big disadvantage of using smart-phones is that they can affect ones health and capability. For example, when students begin to use smart-phones at early age and the wolume of work is massive, then it is dreadfully harmful to students eyes and they will get tired easily. It can lead to many health issues like farsightedness and headaches. As well, if students are using smart-phones constantly, they can not manage to do simple things without it and it can ruin ones life. Therefore, if people use smart-phones daily, then smart-phones are not

Few men act theirs. * Good friends are like stars -- you don't always see them, but you know they are always there. * Government philosophy: If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is. * If practice makes perfect, and nobody is perfect, then why practice? * I always mean what I say but I don't always say what I mean. * I was born intelligent. But, education ruined me. * If the left half of the brain controls the right hand, and the right half the left, then lefthanded people are the only ones in their right minds. * I'm going to live forever. The Importance of English History

from the other part of the Europe. For example, when two parts separated, some animals had already adopted the life on the island and did not move back to the mainland. They suited their appearance more comfortable for the isolated island and learned how to survive in the wet climate and rather heavy air. The first inhabitants the Iberians also had to change in order to survive. They had to renew their menu from different kinds of plants and animals to those special ones found in the woods of England. Another important change was connected with moving around. An island has water surrounding it, so temporarily changing homes is not possible even if the northern part is too cold to live and the southern too warm. The inhabitants were cut off from any tribes that could support them and therefore had to survive on their own. As for more, soon invaders began to change the native population. The Celts, the

countryside and because of that i don't have many opportunities do deal with hobbies, which I like. I have one hobby, which I really like, but the negative side of it is that I can do it only in the winter. No, it's not skiing, it's ice skating! I love it and it doesn't urge not much at all in the winter. All you need are ice skates, warm clothes and clean ice, which exist in the countryside too. I have bought myself figure skates, which didn't cost much, because i bought already used ones. Ice skates can be really expensive, but you should buy expensive ones, when you are already professional. The primary danger in ice skating is falling on the ice. You can be injured really seriously, but usually you just get some bumps or bruises. The second, and more serious danger is falling through the ice into the freezing water, when you are skating on the lake or on the pond. It may end with drowning. That's why you should always check ice thickness before and when

Kaebekiri Letter of complaint - jeans

I am writing to complain about the jeans which I ordered from your mail-order catalogue. I was not pleased when they arrived. To begin with, your advertisement stated that the jeans would be delivered promptly. However, they were delivered late. Secondly, you said that you were the only company in this country licensed to sell this brand, but in fact I have seen them in a local store. Though your advertisement claimed that the price was unbeatable, the ones in the local store were much cheaper. Although your advertisement claimed that the jeans were excellent quality, the zip was broken. The problems do not stop here. You sent me a wrong size. Furthermore, the free T-shirt was missing. In conclusion, I would like another pair of black jeans, not blue ones as you sent last time otherwise I will have to take the matter further. Yours faithfully, Name

What makes a person successful?

In my opinion, we have to stress the words ,,long time period." Why ? Because I do not think that somebody has made an enormous success, when the goal they had made was not actually a challenge. To make it more clear to You, we should not use extremely widespread Borat's expression ,,Great success!" so often. A succesful person takes down such goals as a wish to be a director, to get promoted and to marry a very nice looking lady. Achievements which some people see only in their dreams, the ones you can be proud of ! Surely it depends on every individual personally, what is important for them. In conclusion, a succesful person is a person who has managed to break very many targets and such ones that really count and make a difference!

very disappointed with them. Firstly, in catalogue was text whose describes this product. Actually this company are not the only in this country, which licenced to sell this top brand, because I have seen them in a local store too. Secondly, it was not excellent quality just on the contrary, because the zip of jeans was broken. There were not available in all sizes. Or then why your company sent me wrong size? The problems do not stop here. I ordered black jeans, but you sent me blue ones. And your catalogue did not deliver the goods my free T-shirt missed in my purchase, even thought each purchases must be including free T-shirt. Actually, it was not unbeatable price I have seen much cheaper ones - £ 30. It was quite late delivery too, not as promised in catalogue. To sum up, I would like a refund, otherwise there will be trouble. Yours sincerely Kati Kuusk Kati Kuusk

Modern Hero

During the beginning of their relationship or the time when they learn to know each other the woman is kidnapped and held hostage and the plot of the story is usually about saving her. The happy ending also includes a final kiss and thought that they'll grow old together. The interesting thing is that the love interest and the hero don't have to get along at the beginning but they'll learn to like each other. There are more heroes than we could ever count. The old ones differ from the modern ones and even though every one of them is unique and special they all carry the same title- hero. It unites them and gives them all the meaning of hope. It doesn't really matter whether an old hero or a modern hero- in the end they all do good.

Article: Estonians

Estonians... Estonia is quite a northern country and therefore Estonians may seem a bit peculiar to ones from south, but don't be scared, they will not eat you (alive). Estonians are quite tranquilly and bottled up people - they might love or hate you and if you're not an expert will not make a difference as they didn't care at all. Rarely tend they to kiss or hug each other unless their beloved ones. So if they nevertheless do it then there's a great chance you're dealing with some non- Estonians. But there's no reason for worrying- if a person is from a region where that kind of over-loving-behaviour is common and he or she practices it anyway then a bathetic Estonian will just bear it and play along. In case of visiting like in many other European countries in Estonia it's also polite to bring some presents with you, usually a box of chocolate or something like that will do the trick

Fifty years from now, life will be much easier and healthier for odrinary people than it is today

Fifty years from now, life will be much easier and healthier for odrinary people than it is today In fifty years time the wolrd will be very diffriend from what it is today. In my opinion people will gather into two groups ones that will love and be obsessed with robots and other new technology and the ones who want to live like their grandmothers and grandfathers. They want to grow their own food and give up on technology. Most likely technology will improve faster than ever and that might cause some problems. Like in the movie ,,I,Robot".People will improve technology so fast that they will make mistakese mistakse that might kill human race. They might build robots so advance that we won't be able to control them anymore. Also there is the ,,Clobal Warming" people are talking about

School Uniforms

We could not express ourselves by what we wear. The uniforms are also quite boring and not very inviting. School should be a happy place to be, but the dull colour makes you feel like you have come to prison. It may look nice and smart but it does not make stundents happy. Uniforms are quite often uncomfortable to wear, which makes them even worse. To sum up, I would say that stundents should not wear uniforms. Although, you can see that there are more good sides of wearing uniforms than bad ones, there is one thing you may not see. It is the fact, that uniforms benefit only the teachers. Teachers would have students dressed propely, everyone would be equal etc. But the students would we forced to wear uniforms against their will. School should be a happy place to be, so goodbye uniforms, hello individuality!

The advantages and disadvantages of social networking

The most popular one is social networking sites. People from all over the world are online every day, just to check and edit their social profiles. Always being connected may seem like a good thing, but it also has some drawbacks. The reason why such a large number of people are using these sites, is because it is a comfortable and easy way to stay in touch with friends and family. Who would not want to get daily updates from their loved ones and see what is new in their life. Thanks to social networking sites, there are no boundaries as to where and when you can message or even videocall someone. However, all the information put on the Internet leaves a trace. It can not be deleted and it can be easily found by anyone who is interested. This can be harmful, as more and more employers are conducting background checks on their future employees. Some foolish jokes and posts about parties may cost people their dreamjobs.

Atlantise allkaik

In the psysical part of the Great Year the Divine Female falls into Lower Consciousness and her shadow side emerges reflected in the unconcious Mortal Females who take control. This is also what the whore of Babylon is symbolizing. Perseus is symbolic for the returning Aether and Christ Consciousness that removes the influence and power of the lower conscious Mortal Females. The water that Perseus rides in on is also symbolic for the Aether as is the long hair of the Divine Female. The Living Ones refers to Mortal Man that has looked upon the corrupted Mortal Female as their Truth. If they have followed her corrupted path of debasement, lust and gluttony they will be removed of Spirit after Judgement. The Stone is representing Matter without Life Force this is also relayed in the symbolism of coal given to naughty Children in early Christ Mass (Christmas) Mythology. Traditions

They are a trigger, a reason to get together, they bring back happy memories. Without traditions life would not be as fulfilled. Traditions are the glue that binds one generation to another. They give every member something to look forward to in our sometimes chaotic lives. They remind us to slow down and remember the things and people that are most important. There are many different traditions and they all have different meaning. In my opinion the most important traditions are family ones, like celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. These traditions bring family closer together. For me birthdays are very important. On your birthday you can feel the love around you and also you can see that there are so many people who care about you. In my opinion the importance of ,,The New Year" on January 1 is overemphasized. There seems to be an almost magical belief in a "New Year" bringing change. Other than starting a new wall

Essee In war, there are no unwounded soldiers

It can be a mother, a father, a wife, a husband or in the saddest case a child who now have to grow up with one parent. We can never know how some soldiers died, but with every death there will be questions like: "How did he die? Was it quick? Did he suffer? Was he alone? What were he`s last words?" We can never know what were he`s last thoughts or what he was feeling before death but we always wish that he died peacefully. Finally the wounded ones, who have to live with their injuries for the rest of their lives. In war there are so many people who have had many serious injuries and some of them have even lost one or even all the limbs. They have to live with these injury`s for the rest of their lives. My analysis of the article “ Why Ebola is so dangerous”

He is just describing the situation and does not give his own opinions. He quotes people who know more about Ebola and paraphrases their opinions. The aim of an article is to inform people of Ebola and make them think that it is not just a disease it is very dangerous disease because of how easily it spreads. The article "Why Ebola is so dangerous" is very current right now because the disease is spreading all the time, and more and more people are dying due to it. There is no cure for the ones with Ebola. It is very important right now to talk to people about Ebola, what are it's symptoms, and how it spreads. People have to be aware that it is very dangerous, deadly and easily spreading disease. Let's hope that scientists will work out a vaccine that helps to treat the ones with Ebola. The author used some expressions that I think are common to journalism. I have heard those expressions in news, read in newspapers and magazines For example, in some

them stopped caring about civilisation. The reason why the characters in the novel turned from decent British boys into small savages is hidden in human nature. All the boys were used to have grown-ups around and then they were suddenly thrown into a situation where there were non. At first they were thrilled with happiness but like usually when children are left alone in the dark they start to fear and that happened to these boys also. First ones who began to feel terror and saw nightmares were the little ones but gradually all the boys felt fear. When they were all scared of the beast, the survival instinct started to play a role in boys life and that was probably one of the reasons why boys turned into savages . The other cause would be the fact that there is an evil side in every person. Golding presented the conflict between good and bad as the conflict between

I think girls are pretty much the biggest question to all teenagers and why just to teenagers? Answer to that question you will get while growing up. Well at least I think so. And now some more specifics about teenage girls. There are all kind of teenage girls. Well, for exempel the ones who think that being a teenage girl is all about boys, drugs and alcohol, then there are ofcourse those sissy girls and neards, plus there are the ones who live THE most boring life, by the school, home, school, home routine. Furthermore, xenophobia has started to spread in the areas as a reaction to the problems caused by the immigrants. The third reason for the development of xenophobia in certain small countries is their strategically significant geographical location that might be of interest for the big world states. As a rule, the big ones are interested in gaining more power in the world. Likewise, the three Baltic countries are situated in the area which has been frequented by hostile conquerors in several hundreds of years. During the past centuries the indigenous nations of the Baltic States have developed deep distrust against their neighbours no matter how well-intentioned they try to appear. The old and the young should live under the same roof

The old and the young should live under the same roof Living under the same roof with different generations have positive and negative sides. Many people just can not take it to live with their grandparents, the other can. Should the old and the young livr under the same roof? Firstly, the positive sides are that the old ones do all the work that you do not want to do. They clean and cook. In the mornings you can eat homemade warm pancakes with jam. They do all things you want, they even give money to you. Secondly, there are some negative sides too. You do not have so much private space. Grandparents are so worried about you, the want to know that you are fine. They are sometimes so snoopy and annoying. I think that living with the old have some pros and cons. Eclipse 11th chapter (legends) - kokkuvõte

Taha Aki turned into a wolf again in order to fight her, but he was old and she was too strong. The third wife saw his struggle and stabbed herself in front of the Cold Woman to distract her with her blood. The third wife died, but thanks to her sacrifice, Taha Aki was able to destroy the female. Afterwards, Taha Aki stayed with the body of his wife for one day, as a wolf, then and then ran to the forest and never returned. Over time, the warriors only changed into wolves if Cold Ones came to the area. As long as there were only one or two, the pack stayed small. Old Quil tells of the coming of the Cullens and the pact made with Ephraim Black, saying that the number of wolves is greater due to their being more Cold Ones around than ever before. Bella feels an affinity towards the third wife and falls asleep thinking of her. Jacob calls Edward and Charlie for her, both to keep her out of trouble as well as ensure additional time with her as a reward for "playing nice

 Goals are one of the many choices you have to make when planning your career.  Having goals can help you to deal with problems and can lead to sth worthwhile.  Before you make any decisions you should now which choices are available to you.  For example, if you want to work in photography, you firstly need to find out where you can do such a course.  Then you should compare the different programmes and decide which ones to apply to.  Definately make sure you have enogh information to make a good decision.  You should also think about wheter you want to work outdoors or indoors, with people or with computers, work with your hand or with mind and so on  In my opinion the best job is a job where you can relate your intrests and work together.

Letter of protest

protest? The first thing that comes to my mind is that people protest because they live boring lives. They have nothing to do or they can find excitement anywhere. When something as exciting as protest happens those people might join it just to reduce the boredome in their lives. The other reason why people protest is peer pressure. During revolutions and protests people start judging and criticizing those who don’t participate in the events. Under the effect of peer pressure the ones with low self esteem find themselves forced to take a direction just to please others and not because in what was going on. Those are some of the main reasons why people protest. Some events are worth the protest but some are not. It depens on the protest, the people who are protesting, and over what people protest.

The earliest discovered private archives were kept at Ugarit (which is located in today's Syria). Besides inventories, texts of myths may have been standardized for teaching new scribes. My area

Homework I live in Muuga, it's about 13km from the city center. Muuga belongs to city Maardu, it is like a little village between Maardu and Pirita and Lasnamäe. Here in Muuga, there are many little cottages and detached houses with yards. It is a very quiet and calm village. We have here only 3 food-shops, two really small ones and a bigger one ,,Maxima". Here is also being built a kindergarden. Near here we have a little staying place, something like a motel. We have a bus from the center, it takes nearly 35 minutes to get from the center to Muuga. Bus comes every 17-25 minutes, so it is quite comfortable. A lot of place to walk, go jogging and ride a bike. I'm happy that i live near the bus stop, it's very good for me, but however sometimes I may miss the bus.

Pride and prejudice

Nobody could've believed bad things of him. As an extremely good-hearted and quite a romantic soul, he was kind of naive and that bought up a lot of misunderstandings. A person everyone seemed easy to sympathize with. · The Bennet sisters Two of the eldest were close to the heart from the beginning and this feeling grew stronger the more you understood their characters. The youngest ones, instead, were plain and silly, only out for lust and fun. The older these two grew, the worse their nature started floating out... 2. Fitzwilliam Darcy. 3. What were the three main reasons that Mr. Collins wanted to get married? 1) to act the way lady Lucas wanted 2) to gain someone, who'd take care of the household 3) to make a gift to the Bennets (following God's will). 4. What was Mrs. Bennett's utmost worry?

Books today and tomorrow

than pick up a dusty old book. My opinion on importance of books is that there are books with empty storyline as well as there are books that are considered as true gems which contain knowledge and a great story and the importance of these books is immeasurable. Considering the fact that people in the future will be even lazier than they are now shows that the books will stay on the bookshelves or will be burned but I think that they will be converted into digital ones and will remain forever. In conclusion I think that people must read books to widen their horizon but the lack of free time will force the books to be just as decorative belongings.

Disabled Athletes should take up in Sport

illnesses which would be enough to make most of us want to give up. Nevertheless, there are those who claim that, «Why can't people simply face the fact that if you're disabled, you might not get to play sports in the same manner as everyone else? Also, disabled people aren't excluded at all now...» All in all, I strongly believed that I'll always be especially touched by those who are missing a limb, yet use everything else they have to become the best at what they do. They are the ones who are catching the public eye and imagination, changing people's perceptions of what "disability" means.

Anxiety

It is also crucial to have a healthy diet and well-balanced meals. Caffeine and alcohol are most certainly not recommended, since they can trigger panic attacks and aggravate anxiety. It has also been said that daily exercise can help people feel happy and maintain their health. When feeling anxious, it is important to pay notice to our breathing. Breathing exercises can quickly reduce anxiety and are easy to learn and remember. One of the most famous ones is to take a breath for five seconds, hold, then breathe out slowly for about seven seconds and repeat it a few times. It is also important to not suffer alone and try to surround ourselves with people. Friends and family are the best support we can get to cope with anxiety.

An analysis of the problem of Political Power - essee

An analysis of the problem of Political Power Written by: Katre Kikkas Introduction It is said that in the political philosophy there are only two questions: ,,Who can have what?" and ,,Who will decide over it?". It is not exactly like that but it is quite close to the trough, to begin with. The first question includes material amenity's, and dividing rights and liberties.(Wolff, 1996) What is power? It is ability to influence others to do something they otherwise would not. Also, others can be affected with threats and force. (Kilp, 2010) Political power includes also right to force the others and to punish them if they disobey. Who should have that kind of power? Actually the political power is quite mysterious by itself. If someone has legitimate political power over me then he or she has a right to force me to do things that they want.(Wolff, 1996) But how can other person have rig...

Eating Disorders

The media shows a great deal of beauty and thinness on television and magazines that are viewed by many people daily. Everyone has the desire to look like the actors and actresses do but, in reality, it just will not happen for most of us. An unfavorable relationship a person has with others is also a contributing factor to disordered eating habits. There really is no single reason that a person acquires an eating disorder. Causes like the ones mentioned above play such an important role in eating disorders. Is it really so important that in order to look like the super models people are willing to give up food and starve themselves to death for a little satisfaction on the outside? The look of a person on the inside is what really matters.

Should rich people welcome immigration.

Firstly, the positive side is that most immigrants have been working hard in developed countries. They start their own business by running a corner shop or owning a restaurant. Talented people also have a opportunity to use their talent in developed countries the way they can not do in their home country. Secondly, the negative side is that developing countries can not develope if talented and wealthy people leave their homes. These people should realise that they are the ones, who should help their country in developing education, economy and solving problem of over population. Thirdly, we can say that instead of opening our doors to the whole world, we can assist poorer countries by sending them supplies like first aid, condoms, pure water, food and clothes. In conclusion, we can say that richer countries should not welcome immigration in order to help poorer countries to develope faster and they should send supplies to make their

PIRACY

PIRACY Life of the 21th century is getting more and more expensive. People can't afford themselves that kind of entertainment that they did at the end of 20th century. Because of that there are a lot of piracy in that world and I think that it is one of the biggest crime of nowadays technological ear. Piracy is a form of theft. Morden technology has made wide-scale trading of music possible in the form of MP3 files available over the internet for free, all at the click of a mouse. We have to consider that not everything on the internet is legal. Sharing and downloading music and films is most of the time illegal, but everyone thinks that ,,if everyone is doing it and not getting in trouble, then it must be ok." Some of people thinks that illegal file sharing even helps the music industry. Before you are downloading or sharing some files that you don't own, you should fi...

What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of Tourism

helped to build up certain regions, which otherwise would still be struggling in poverty. Futhermore, to make country desirable destination, governments have to keep crime rate under control, which makes life safer for locals as well. On the negative side, relentless waves of tourists increase our carbon footprint. Transportation increases pollution and creates gridlocks. Often big hotels consume unreasonably large amount of water, while locals are left in dry. And after all, tourist are not the ones who suffer from the effects, locals are. Tourism has its positive and negative sides. It is important part of today's economy, as many countries live of it, but it also has darker side. It is important to remember, that when tourist leave the destination, locals will still be living there.

Essay: What Makes a Good Teacher

What Makes a Good Teacher As everybody knows, being a teacher requires different qualities that many people do not have. It is commonly accepted that teaching is often extremely difficult and stressful because pupils can sometimes give the tutor a hard time. Only the tough ones survive. I reckon it all comes down to the circumstance whether the teacher loves her job or does she do it just for the salary. If she only does it for money, the children will not take her seriously. She should also have a vast knowledge of her subject. Otherwise, it is really difficult for the attentive and eager pupils to get answers to their questions.Another important quality is humour. I believe that helps to make picking up knowledge much easier and more fun.

How terrorism has changed the world

How terrorism has changed the world? Over the decades millions of people have died innocently and lost their homes and beloved ones. Many countries have been attacked by the terrorists. As a result it all affects world politics and global relationships. It can be said that after the 9/11 disaster in the United States we have extremely strict security control system. The traveling is much more proctected by plane. Moreover there is no hitchhiking anymore due to stricting the security checks. Even though it can't be said to the other types of transportation. Terrorism in the Internet has also decreased, whereas computer specialists develop better hardwares to avoid crimes in electronically. Furthermore people are more aware of the jeopardies in the Internet. Terrorism in religious countries is fairly nonsense. War between the two different beliefs will probably never end. Apart from the religious views, remaini...
