performed, or an event at which it takes place. It can be categorized and described in various ways. Still there’s many generic similarities in dances from many different times and places. Theatrical dance, also called performance or concert dance, is intended primarily as a spectacle, usually a performance upon a stage by virtuoso dancers. It often tells a story, perhaps using mime, costume and scenery, or else it may simply interpret the musical accompaniment. Examples are western ballet and modern dance, Classical Indian dance and Chinese and Japanese song and dance dramas. [3] Dancing has been one of the most popular way to have a good time and to entertain someone. It’s a cultural representation, which involves dancers, choreographers, audience, patrons and impresarios. Dance traditions may be limited to one culture, but they all develope.

The English Patient

Although he had recovered somewhat, he was still addicted to morphine. Hana had little garden outside where she grew vegetables and she thought that maybe David could use he's ability to steel something better also. Caravaggio refused, because he had "lost his nerve". Caravaggio felt that the English patient is not English and tried to get information from him. Hana played the piano in library and two sappers arrived. One of them was Kip. He knew that Germans used to put bombs into the musical instruments and he stopped Hana. One day Kip was neutralising one bomb and discovered that there were used a new technique and he was suddenly trapped, because he hold in both hands wires and he knew that he can't fell them down, because otherwise it would blow up everything. Among the best-known modern performers are groups such as The Chieftains, singers such as Christy Moore, ensembles such as Anúna and Celtic Woman and cross-over artists such as singers Enya and Sinéad O'Connor. Built upon this tradition is the dance company Riverdance. Ireland has produced internationally influential artists in other musical genres such as rock, pop, jazz and blues including The Pogues, U2, Westlife, Chris de Burgh, Thin Lizzy, The Corrs, The Cranberries, Blues guitarist Rory Gallagher, jazz guitarist Louis Stewart and Academy Award winner Glen Hansard of The Frames. There is humanity and humanism in his works and it is why he has sympathy for people. · GC decided to break free from Italian and French literature. His vocabulary is very informal, easy, he doesn't use alliteration and his verse is musical. He uses lines of 10 syllables with 5 stresses each. His lines run in rhyming couplets. · GC was a forerunner of the Renaissance. huge choir and hundreds of thousands of people sitting on the grass to hear traditional choir music no wonder it shocks, surprises and mesmerises overseas visitors! What makes it even more special is that, due to the small population of Estonia, there are less than million Estonian speakers and yet, a tenth of them attend the event. Long established song festival traditions are most likely the reason why Estonians not known for our pop- music or global musical prowess are still referred to as the "singing nation". Singing and songs have played a very important role in Estonian history. Songs were sung when cottagers tilled the manor land, singing sparked the "awakening" era in Estonia, our troops sang national songs fighting through the world wars and during the end of eighties, the Singing Revolution (which started right here on the Song Festival grounds) enabled us to regain our independence from the Soviet Union

In the 20th century, influences from the music of the United States became most dominant in popular music. This led to the explosion of the British Invasion, while subsequent notable

But for the moment Carl was really thin, so thin that the doctor suggested to make him do sports. His education, beyond studies, embraced a lot of fields. He learnt to play musical instruments, to dance, to sing and applied himself to a large variety of sports: football, soccer (he played with his brother Cleveland as a forward!), diving and, obviously, athletics. As he himself tells, he wasn't good at sport. A lot of boys did better at the same age and he was regularly beaten by his sister Carol in the track his parents constructed for them around the garden of their house! Amazingly his father was a friend of Jesse Owens and so Carl grew up under the legend of

Romantism

G. Wodehouse Wodehouse was an acknowledged master of English prose admired both by contemporaries and by modern writers. He has been called "English literature's performing flea", a derogatory description that Wodehouse cherished and adopted as the title of his autobiography. Best known today for the Jeeves and Blandings Castle novels and short stories, Wodehouse was also a talented playwright and lyricist who was part author and writer of fifteen plays and of 250 lyrics for some thirty musical comedies. Wodehouse took a modest attitude to his own works. In Over Seventy (1957) he wrote: "I go in for what is known in the trade as 'light writing' and those who do that humorists they are sometimes called are looked down upon by the intelligentsia and sneered at." Wodehouse's characters are often eccentric, with peculiar attachments, such as to newts (Gussie Fink-Nottle) or socks (Archibald Mulliner). His "mentally negligible"

Paintings, musical sonatas, dances, etc. all are symbols that classify parts of reality for us, as do such things as scientific theories and what makes up common, ordinary knowledge.

Tunnustused · 2004 ajakirja Musical America aasta helilooja · Tartu Ülikooli audoktor · Eesti Filharmoonia Kammerkoori 2006. aasta septembris ilmunud plaat Da Pacemi ettekandega võitis 2007. aastal parima kooriesituse Grammy. 12

Artiklis, mis postitati Apple'i kodulehel 6. veebruaril 2007, teatas Steve Jobs, et Apple on nõus müüma muusikat iTunes Store'is ilma DRM'ita (inglise k. 2. aprillil 2007 teatasid Apple ja Briti plaadifirma EMI (Electric & Musical Industries Ltd.) ühiselt DRM tehnoloogia eemaldamisest EMI kataloogist iTunes Store'is. Teised plaadifirmad järgisid nende eeskuju juba samal aastal. Järgmise aasta juulis avas Apple App Store'i, et müüa kolmandate osapoolte arendatud tarkvara iPhone'le ja iPod Touch'ile. Juba esimese kuuga müüdi 60 miljonit rakendusprogrammi, tuues kasumit keskmiselt üks miljon dollarit päevas. Jobs spekuleeris, et App Store võib saada miljardi-dollari äriks Apple'i jaoks.

inhabitants, because most of Estonians are hard-working and appreciate education. They are also cool and reserved, but also not too eager to open a conversation with a stranger. Estonia has rich culture. Music and dances have always played an important role in people's life. The most original part of Estonian folklore is the runic folksong. It was based on the alteration of long and short syllables. In different folksongs either men or women sang and the songs were often accompanied by a musical instrument. Today folksongs are often used by modern composers. A major change in Estonian culture occurred during the period of the National Awakening. Choirs and brassbands were founded in every corner of Estonia, it culminated with the 1 st Song Festival in 1869. Since then the Song Festivals have taken place every 4-5 years and have certainly helped Estonians maintain their national identity. Tallinn is the seat of the Estonian National Opera

Australia.

There are many styles of Aboriginal music, for example Bunggul, Karma and Wangga. Most of the Aboriginal songs speak about the Dreamtime. The most famous Aboriginal instrument is the didgeridoo. It's a long pipe, without finger holes and it's usually of eucalyptus. It is traditionally played by men. Today it's commonly considered the national instrument of Australia. Yothu Yindi is an Aboriginal band, although it has some non-Aboriginal members. The band tries to combine both musical cultures. They use typical instruments, like drums and guitars, but also Aboriginal instruments, like didgeridoo and clap sticks. Sydney Opera House is one of the most famous performing arts venues in the world. The most famous Australian singers are Kylie Minouge, Paul Kelly and Kevin Johnson. Art: The most famous Australian paintings are Aboriginal rock and dot paintings. The rock paintings can be found almost everywhere in Australia

These fences didn't work so in 1946 the government built a single fence which stretched 5400 km from Great Australian Bight in South Australia to near the Queensland coast. The single fence worked better. Lyrebirds are covered with brown feathers. They live in forests and woodland in Australia. They eat insects, spiders, beetles and worms. Male lyrebirds can copy many sounds. Lyrebird gets its name because of the tail of the male bird. It is shaped like a musical instrument called a lyre. There are 2 species of lyrebird, the superb lyrebird, about the size of a rooster, and Albert's lyrebird, which is the smaller of the species. Lyrebirds have mostly brown feathers and although they have wings, they don't often fly. They move about in the forests, running and jumping quickly on their short legs. They have four claws on each leg. At night they roost in trees. Lyrebirds are a protected species.

Art and Aesthetics in Early Childhood Education

Art and Aesthetics in Early Childhood Education TÕLGE Irving B. Weiner . Handbook of Psychology, Educational Psychology. 2003 lk 288-290 The very concept of artistic development and some long-standing models developed to describe it (e.g., Gaitskell, Hurwitz, & Day, 1982; Lowenfeld & Brittaind, 1964; Luquet, 1977) have in fact become a subject of criticism in recent years. Four particular issues have been identified in this collective body of criticism. First, questions have been raised about the appropriateness of unilinear conceptions of development in explaining a wide range of pictorial imagery produced by children. adolescents, and adults. Second, a disparity has been noted between the breadth of the world of art and the narrowness of the focus on visual realism that has served as the endpoint in these developmental models. Third, cultural biases that mark these models have been identified theoretically and empirically. Fourth, i...

ENGLISH TOPICS - palju teemasid inglise keele riigieksami kordamiseks

It is a well-known fact that the English are very fond of gardening and growing flowers, especially roses. Both grown-ups and children are fond of playing different computer games. This is a relatively new hobby but it is becoming more and more popular. Making things includes drawing, painting, making sculpture, designing costumes, handicrafts. Two of the most famous hobby painters were President Eisenhower and Sir Winston Churchill. Some hobbyists write music or play musical instruments. President Bill Clinton, for example, plays the saxophone. Almost everyone collects something at some period in his life: stamps, coins, matchboxes, books, records, postcards, toys, watches. Some collections have no real value. Others become so large and so valuable that they are housed in museums and galleries. Many world-famous collections started in a small way with one or two items. People with a good deal of money often collect paintings, rare books, and other art objects
