Along with nuclear energy, it is the most important source of energy on Earth. People usually use solar energy to produce electricity and heat. Wind power is the conversion of wind energy into a useful form of energy, such as electricity, using wind turbines. These wind turbines are popular in counties, where the average speed of the wind is at least 6 meters per second for example in Germany, Denmark, USA and India. Hydropower is energy derived from the movement of water in rivers and oceans,it can be used to generate electricity using turbines, or can be used mechanically to do useful work. It is a very common resource. Besides these , there are a lot more renewable resources such as animals, plants, forrests and so on. Non-renewable resources: Some resources take hundreds, thousands and even millions of years to be made. These are called non-renewable resources like coal , oil shale, petroleum, natural gases, rocks.
The United States, United Kingdom and the majority of other western democracies considered the annexation of Estonia by USSR illegal. They retained diplomatic relations with the representatives of the independent Respublic of Estonia, never recognized Estonia as a legal constituent part of Soviet Union. Estonia's return to independence became possible as the Soviet Union ran into economic dufficulties as a consequence of the Cold War and began to disintegrate. As te situation evolved, a movement for more Estonian selfgovernance started. In 1989, during the ,,Singing Revolution", a human chain of more than 2 million people, called the Baltic Way, was formed, streching through Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Estonia formally declared regained independece on August 20, 1991, during the Soviet military coup attempt in Moscow. The last Russian troops left on 31 August 1994. Estonia joined NATO on 29 March 2004 and the European Union on 1 May 2004. Retreat taganema

Stiili hakati nimetama Art Nouveau uus kunst. Inglismaal hakati uut stiili nimetama Style Modern . Inglismaa põhiline osa Art Nouveau arengus oli uuele stiilile tee rajamine. Art Nouveau oli internatsionaalne dekoratiivne kujundusstil, mille laiem levik tuli peale "Art Nouveau" sisutussalongi avamist Pariisis 1895. Art Nouveau piiritletakse aastatega 1890- 1914. Stiili kõrgpunkt oli 1900.a. maailmanäitusel Pari sis, kus Art Nouveau triumfeeris kõikides kunstiliikides. Stili iseloomustas suur dekorativsus kujunduselementideks vääntaimed, eksootilised linnud ja lilled, kaunid inimfiguurid. Vormid olid kaarduvad, graa...
Union. The 736 Members of the European Parliament are there to represent you, the citizen. They are elected once every five years by voters right across the 27 Member States of the European Union on behalf of its 500 million citizens. Parliament plays an active role in drafting legislation which has an impact on the daily lives of its citizens: For example, on environmental protection, consumer rights, equal opportunities, transport, and the free movement of workers, capital, services and goods. Parliament also has joint power with the Council over the annual budget of the European Union. Jerzy Buzek is the President of the European Parliament The Council is the EU's main decision-making body. Like the European Parliament, the Council was set up by the founding treaties in the 1950s. It represents the member states, and its meetings are attended by one minister from each of the EU's national governments.
a public holiday again. This year Estonia will celebrate the 83rd anniversary of the declaration of the state independence. A Quest for Independence For centuries, the Estonian people dreamed of establishing a state free of foreign domination. The 1917 revolution and the generally unstable situation in Russia created the opportunity for Estonia to gain its independence. The impetus for independence was provided by the National Front, Estonia's main ideological movement, which based its ideas on US President Woodrow Wilson's principle of self-determination. On April 8, 1917, Estonian organisations and military personnel totalling 40 000 held a demonstration in Petrograd (St. Petersburg) in support of self-government of Estonia. The organised, peaceful demonstration achieved its goal when, on April 12, the Russian Provisional Government signed the Law on Estonian Autonomy, which united the Livonian counties of Tartu,

gain a lot of weight. I think that to stay healthy, physically fit and feel good for itself every person should do some sport every day. After you do sport, you have a good feeling and you're happy that you did that. Do whatever - run, walk, play ball games, throw a ball and you do it yourself to feel better. There are P.E lessons in every school. That is good, because some people do not work out, outside the school and so they do at least some movement. In school we have two P.E lessons a week and that isn't enough compared with the 2-4 hours a day that students spend on the internet or watching TV. In our P.E lessons we play ball games, do long jumps and run and have fun. I think everybody have good time there. I think we should have P.E lessons every day to keep our bodies in shape. We do it by oneself to get in good shape. Outside school there are so many sports to do after the school and it's good to do some sports outside school to stay

- four causes or better "becauses" because they are the 4 ways in which we use the word "because" or answer the question "why?" 1. Material cause: - what it is made of - why is the bridge strong? because made of steel 2. Formal cause: - what form, definition or property it has - why is this salt? because made of sodium and chloride 3. Efficient cause: - what initiated the change or movement - why did the baseball move? because someone hit it 4. Final cause: - what end or goal does it have? - why does he walk? because he wants to be healthy - also nature operates in terms of final causes - things don't happen spontaneously, every action that nature takes is for the sake of something, everything has a purpose - where a series has a completion, all the previous steps are done for the sake of that

5. Aesthetic function e. a. What are some of the aspects that help create the aesthetic effect? -The rhythm, balance and contrasts of sentences, clauses and words also play their part. The sound-effects consist of onomatopoeia, alliteration, assonance, rhyme, intonation and stress. b. How do you understand the conflict between ‘truth’ and ‘beauty’? - c. Why are descriptive verbs (‘kirjeldav tegusõna’) usually easy to translate? - Descriptive verbs of movement and action, since they describe a manner, are rich in sound effect. d. Explain the importance of the metaphor in this context. - Metaphor is the link between the expressive and the aesthetic function. Metaphor connects the extra linguistic reality with the world of the mind through languages. Metaphor, being both an expressive and an asthetic component, has to be preserved intact in translation 6. Phatic (‘faatiline’) and metalingual (‘keeleväline’) function a
Britta Kase 143123HAKB Summary The booklet offers a brief, simple explanation how the European Union is relevant to us in our everyday life, how it affects our lives in many areas and how can we benefit from it. The booklet gives also a very readable overview of EU’s history and how its member states have come together. It’s a great starting point to know the roots, history and functioning of the European Union. I found this booklet interesting because it provides an insight into relevance of the EU. I have never thought that making phone calls and flying has become cheaper as a result of EU. EU has abolished national monopolies and has permitted competition. For me the most important thing is air, water and food quality. The EU has introduced c...

Technology like automobiles, airplanes, speed boats, electronic trains have made movement so easy and cheap. Tickets are not so pricy, because there is variety of choices. On the other hand, there are instances which show the problems with improved and advanced technologies. Note: 1) We normally use be going to to talk about something we intend to do and will to give details or make comments. e.g. A: I'm going to have a party next week. I'll invite all my friends. B: That'll be great. 2) We normally use the present continuous rather than be going to with verbs which express movement, especially the verbs go and come. e.g. Sam is going to the market in a few minutes. Sheila is coming to my house for tea this afternoon NB! The future simple and be going to are used with the following time expressions: tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, tonight, soon, next week/month/year, in a week/month/year, in two/three days/weeks, etc. Future Continuous (will be +ing) a) for an action which will be in progress at a stated future time.
Conan Doyle was involved in the campaign for the reform of the Congo Free State, led by the journalist E. D. Morel and the diplomat Roger Casement. He wrote The Crime of the Congo in 1909, a long pamphlet in which he denounced the horrors in that country. He became acquainted with Morel and Casement, taking inspiration from them for two of the main characters in the novel, The Lost World (1912). He broke with both when Morel became one of the leaders of the pacifist movement during the First World War, and when Casement committed treason against the UK during the Easter Rising out of conviction for his Irish nationalist views. Conan Doyle tried, unsuccessfully, to save Casement from the death penalty, arguing that he had been driven mad and was not responsible for his actions. Conan Doyle was also a fervent advocate of justice, and personally investigated two closed cases, which led to two imprisoned men being released. The first case, in 1906,
They show the viewpoint of disturbed artist. His reaction to the changing world, this is the most intimate and subjective part of the novel, the camera eye. Although the novel was published on 1930, it represents the young nations hopes. Hopes for the 20th century and most of the heros are chosen from the working class movement and the faith of these people is mostly unfortunate and they are chosen to illustrate the idea that american sociaty distorts and prostitutes his talents. cooperate, even in their own defense. The end of the wars more or less coincided with the end of the 19th century. The last major war was not really a war, it was a massacre in 1890 where Indian warriors, women, and children were slaughtered by U.S. cavalrymen at Wounded Knee and South Dakota, in a final spasm of ferocity. A stupefying record of greed and treachery, of heroism and pain, had come to an end, a record forever staining the immense history of the westward movement, which in its drama and tragedy is also distinctively and unforgettably American. Native Americans today have a special relationship with the United States of America. They can be found as members of nations, tribes, or bands of Native Americans who have sovereignty or independence from the government of the United States. Their societies and cultures still flourish amidst a larger immigrated American populace of African, Asian, European and Middle Eastern people

called the foremost satirist in the English language, was wildly popular in his day and remains so in modern times amongst both children and adults. The Irish tradition of folk music and dance is also widely known. In the middle years of the 20th century, as Irish society was attempting to modernise, traditional music tended to fall out of favour, especially in urban areas. During the 1960s, and inspired by the American folk music movement, there was a revival of interest in the Irish tradition. This revival was led by such groups as The Dubliners, The Chieftains, the Clancy Brothers, Sweeney's Men, and individuals like Seán Ó Riada and Christy Moore. Irish and Scottish traditional music share some similar characteristics. The Republic of Ireland has done well in the Eurovision Song Contest, being the most successful country in the competition, with seven wins.
The River Thames was quick way to transport goods between Britain and the Continent. The Romans saw this and built the town of Londinium around the river's main crossing point. The Romans gave britain: Language The language we used today was developed from the Romans. The Romans spoke and wrote in Latin and many of our words are based on Latin words. The Calendar the calendar we use today is more than 2,000 years old? It was started by Julius Caesar, a Roman ruler. It is based on the movement of the earth around the sun, and so is called the 'solar calendar.' The solar calendar has 365 days a year, and 366 days every leap year, or every fourth year. The names of our months are taken from the names of Roman gods and rulers. The month 'July,' in fact, is named after Julius Caesar himself! Laws and a legal system The laws and ways we determine what to do with someone who is accused of breaking a law came originally from the Roman Empire. The Census
oluline. Samas on üheks probleemiks nõrk järelvalve rahastamise üle

See järel liigutakse kiiresti kolmandast neljandasse astmesse. Deltauni ehk sügav uni kestab umbes 30 minutit. Selles unes ongi võimalik unes käimine ja unes rääkimine. Pärast deltaund tuleb nn üleminekuseisund, sarnaneb aeglase une teise staadiumiga. Edasi tuleb kiire ehk paradoksaalne uni. See on lainesageduselt sarnane ärkvelolekuga, tegelikult oled sügavas unes. Silmamunad liiguvad kiiresti. Sellest tuleb ka teine nimetus REM-uni (ingl rapid eye movement kiire silmaliikumine). Südame löögisagedus ja hingamisrütm on korrapäratud, võib täheldada näolihaste, käte ja jalgade tõmblemist. Selles faasis nähtakse 80% ajast unenägusid. Ka pimedatel on samad unestaadiumid. Nende unenäod on seotud kuulmisega. Aeglane uni ja kiire uni vahelduvad. Koos moodustavad nad 90-100 minutilise tsükli, öö jooksul on umbes 4-5 tsüklit. Kõige olulisemad on delta- ja kiire uni. Deltaune puudumisel võib inimene tunda väsimust
· 3. aste - Üleminek deltaune staadiumisse. Selles astmes tekivad aeglased suure amplituudiga deltalained. · 4. aste - Sügav uni ehk deltauni. Silmamunad püsivad paigal. Sel ajal on magajat kõige raskem üles ajada. · 5. aste - Kiire ehk paradoksaalne uni. Unenägude nägemise staadium. Seda nimetatakse ka REM-uneks kuna sel ajal liiguvad silmamunad kiiresti (REM - Rapid Eye Movement ehk kiire silmaliikumine). Tavaliseimad une korratused on unetus või raskused magama jäämisega. Umbes 20 % inimestest kannatavad elu jooksul mõnda aega unetuse all.
Our home is family house with a large enclosed garden which is constrained with spruce hedge. My house was built in 1992 but it has been extensively modernised and extended since then. Our house consists a lot of different elements and components what I try to describe in my essay. The most important part of construction is foundation because it keeps buildings in one piece. My house has a strip foundation which is taken 1,5m below the ground to protect the structure against ground movement and damages. Due to the fact that foundation transfer the dead and imposed loads of the structure onto the ground it must be very solid and strong. Our foundation is made of pre cast concrete blocks which has a damp-proof course made of mastics on external side. There are sleeper wall after the concrete blocks to support the basement floor slabs. Next primary elements are the walls. My house has four crosswalls which have load bearing and enclosing role
the order one more time. Although the main building of the church dates back to those times, the medieval cathedral was quite different from the present appearance. For example, the tower on the western side of the church was built only in the 18 th century, the annexes of the southern side date back to the 16 th -18th centuries and those on the northern side to the 15th century. While the Lutheran reformation movement had prevailed in the churches of downtown Tallinn by 1524, the Toompea cathedral held Catholic services until 1561, when the Kingdom of Sweden gained control over Tallinn. A library was established at the church in 1641. The copper roof was built thanks to the donation of Queen Christina in 1651. While nearly the entire Toompea burnt down in a fire in 1433, the fire of 1684 was even more devastating. Only the walls of the church survived the whole wooden interior
(IOC), of which De Coubertin became the general secretary. It was also decided that the first modern Olympics would take place in Athens, Greece and that they would be held every four years. These Games proved a success. Paradoxically, the first president of this non-commercial and non- governmental organization was not Coubertin himself, but Demetrius Vikelas from Greece. Still Coubertin was the driving force behind the Olympic movement. Vikelas stepped down after the games had been held in his own country and then Coubertin became the president. Despite the initial success, the Olympic Movement faced hard times, as the 1900 (in De Coubertin's own Paris) and 1904 Games were both swallowed by international fairs, and received little attention. This changed for the better after the 1906 Summer Olympics, and the Olympic Games grew to become the most important sports event. De Coubertin stepped down

While the MuslimArab elite engaged in conquest, some devout Muslims began to question the piety of indulgence in a worldly life, emphasizing rather poverty, humility and avoidance of sin based on renunciation of bodily desires. Devout Muslim ascetic exemplars such as Hasan alBasri would inspire a movement that would evolve into Sufism. For the Umayyad aristocracy, Islam was viewed as a religion for Arabs only; the economy of the Umayyad empire was based on the assumption that a majority of nonMuslims (Dhimmis) would pay taxes to the minority of Muslim Arabs. Impact of WWI Variously throughout the war, serious shortage of able-bodied men ("manpower") occurred in the country, and women were required to take on many of the traditional male roles, particularly in the area of arms manufacture; though this was only significant in the later years of the war, since unemployed men were often prioritised by employers. But when men went to war, then women took over their jobs. The war also caused a split in the British suffragette movement, calling a 'ceasefire' in their campaign for the duration of the war. In contrast, more radical suffragettes, like the Women's Suffrage Federation, continued their (at times violent) struggle. Women were also allowed to join the armed forces in a non-combatant role and by the end of the War 80,000 women had joined the armed forces in auxiliary roles such as nursing and cooking. Great Britain was victorious in the war, but suffered heavy losses:
