The Great Guild/Suurgild

The Great Guild Liisbeth Kallakmaa The Great Guild Medieval Tallinn's social institutions were guilds and brotherhoods, whose main function was to provide members with social interactions and ensure their rights, but also played an important political and economic role. Tallinn had three important guilds - The Great Guild, St. Canute's Guild and St. Olaf's guild. The Great Guild was the youngest among them, founded in the 14th century, but soon became the biggest and most important. It was founded as an organization of the wealthiest merchants and shipowners. The name of the Great Guild was introduced in the late 15th century.

essentially formal role , there is the Sovereign - king or queen - also known as "the crown." Role of the Sovereign The British monarch has all authority, but no power. The Sovereign appoints the Prime Minister, and every year opens the sessions of parliament, in a historical and ritual ceremony called the State Opening of Parliament . Historically, this ceremony used to take place in the Autumn; but since 2012, it has been brought forward to May. This is the only regular time when the members of both Houses come together. During the ceremony, the Sovereign reads out the government's intended programme. The "Queen 's Speech" is a summary of the programme "his" or "her" government intends to implement in the next twelve months; but the speech is prepared and written by the Prime Minister's office, not by the Queen. The second major function of the sovereign is to sign new laws passed by Parliament. A bill

The British Parliament

Parliament, the law-making body, consists of three elements: the Monarchy, the House of Commons and the House of Lords. They meet together only on occasions of ceremonial significance, such as the state opening of Parliament. The Monarch's principle function is to carry out certain ceremonial duties. The Queen is regarded as national symbol and also as a symbol of the unity of the Commonwealth. The British monarch must be Protestant. The House of Commons consists of 650 elected members, called Members of Parliament. Its main purpose is to make laws by passing Acts of Parliament, as well as to discuss current political issues. The House of Lords consists of around 740 non-elected members. Its main legislative function is to examine and revise bills from the Commons. The judicial role of the House of Lords as the highest appeal court in the UK has ended. The Supreme Court of the UK assumed jurisdiction on points of law for all civil and criminal cases.

Familie esseee

Leute, die mir lieb und teuer sind, die mich lieben und sind immer auf mich gewartet. Kristina Julm 12a The family is very important as a unit in our society. Nothing else but family can be an emotional center of people's life, can be a transmitter of culture and raising children. Understanding between the members of the family and consideration for others are very important in family relationship. Tenderness, warm-heartedness and respect must always be present in the family to make it friendly. A lot of activities help members of the family to be on friendly terms: discussing all the family plans together, going on trips hikes together, visiting museums, theaters, exhibitions and exchanging opinions about them, sharing the same joys and sorrows

There are offices, committee rooms, restaurants, bars, libraries and even some places of residence. Two large rooms: The House of Lords meet in one and the House of Commons in the other. The British Parliament is divided into two houses, but the House of Commons is obviously more important and only they are considered to be the MPs. In the House of Commons there are just two rows of benches facing each other. On the left sit the members of the governing party and on the right sit the opposition. The Speaker sits between them and controls the action. The arrangement of the benches encourages confrontation between the government and the opposition. There is no place for somebody who isn't neither in the opposition nor in the government side. Usually peeps like this sit in the opposition furthest from the Speaker. || There are no tables for the MPs. They also have no obvious place to address each other from

Capital punishment. Some people say that capital punishment should not be abolished. In some points I agree with it but in another points I disagree. When somebody kill someone, then it is impossible describe the pain that family members and friends have to feel. So it seems fair to punish murderer in that awful way, but then murderers family members get hurt and it would be vicious circle. Also the death penalty takes away opportunity to regret those horrible mistakes. Some people can change and would live life properly. But then, some people can't change themselves and they could do same mistakes over and over again. Then it seems right again to punish them with the death penalty. Of course from economical side capital punishment is better than maintaining serious criminals at public expence

Otherkin subculture (beliefs, behaviour, influences)

Otherkin Beliefs- Otherkin are a community of people who see themselves as partially or entirely non-human. This is explained by some members of the otherkin community through reincarnation, they have a nonhuman souls. Here you can see the model of reincarnation- it happens when a non-human (for example a fox or a wolf or a dragon) dies, their body dies but the soul never dies and it just takes some other body, gets inside there and many Otherkin community members believe that this non-human soul is in their body, that their own soul is not human. They declare that inside they are more than just homo sapiens. Not all otherkin necessarily share these beliefs; some may simply prefer to identify as non-human without this reincarnation. Mostly these peole communicate on the Internet and if they gather then mostly to talk about their past, their feelings or to just get more information about other otherkins. Behaviour- Otherkin is a pretty quiet subculture

St. Stephen's hall is the central meeting place where constituents can meet or "lobby" their Members of Parliament. It is from here that you will be shown your direction either to the House of Lords or Commons. An incendiary bomb destroyed the House of Commons in 1941. Comparison of Estonian and British State system

Comparison of Estonian and British State system Iam here to talk about Estonian and British state system, which have some similarities and differences. First of all the regime: Estonia is a democratic republic when the United Kingdom is constitutional monarchy. The head of state in Estonia is president who currently is Toomas-Hendrik Ilves and the head of state in United Kingdom is queen Elizabeth the second. Estonian president has a serving time of 5 years then in United Kingdom monarch rules the country till he or she dies, of course there are special occasions for that too. Second of all I want to talk about parliaments: Estonian parliament is unicameral and has 101 members and is elected for four years, when the British parliament is bicameral and has 1455 members currently and is elected for five years. Bicameral parliament means that there are two separate assemblies. There are quite a few minor difference...

That's why veterinarians, animal behaviourists, biologists and animal welfare organizations around the world have condemned wild animal acts. Circuses and traveling shows with wild animals also pose a risk to human safety. Numerous circus employees have been seriously injured or killed by performing animals and circus audience members have been injured when han- dlers have lost control of their animals. Many performing animals are large, potentially dangerous species that even zoos don't handle. But when they perform in circuses and traveling shows, they often do so without adequate pro- tection for staff and audience members. We now know that performing animals suffer in circuses and traveling shows and that wild animal acts pose a dan- ger to human safety

Like bringing a simple example, opening the door for an older women or a person, no swearing and greet familiar people. Like its said, all starts at home. How do you interact with your family at home, to you sisters, brothers, mom or dad. In my future home i want nobody to yell at each other and talk to eachother clearly. My family members to have a nice and a cozy home, and all to support each other. I think home is suposed to be the place where you come from work to relax and rest. Where you can concern or complain or share happy moments with your family members. Everyone in the world should have a home and education. Everyone should have home support to face the harsh world.

Object-oriented programming.

the ability to bark and sit (behaviors). Classes provide modularity and structure in an object-oriented computer program. A class should typically be recognizable to a non- programmer familiar with the problem domain, meaning that the characteristics of the class should make sense in context. Also, the code for a class should be relatively self-contained (generally using encapsulation). Collectively, the properties and methods defined by a class are called members. Object A pattern (exemplar) of a class. The class of Dog defines all possible dogs by listing the characteristics and behaviors they can have; the object Lassie is one particular dog, with particular versions of the characteristics. A Dog has fur; Lassie has brown- and-white fur. Method An object's abilities. In language, methods (sometimes referred to as "functions") are verbs. Lassie, being a Dog, has the ability to bark. So bark() is one of Lassie's methods

Canada topic

In Canada a federal form of government is combined with a cabinet system. As a federation, Canada is made up of ten provinces and three territories. Its national problems are resolved through its central government in Ottawa. Each province has its own government. The territories are self-governing. The Cabinet system of Canada unites the legislative and executive branches of the Government. The Prime Minister and the members of the Cabinet are usually members of the House of Commons. Sometimes a senator may be in the Cabinet. Ministers are resposible for all their actions to the House, which is elected by the people. The Prime Minister directs the government. The Parliament is the national legislature of Canada. It has two houses, an upper house called the Senate, and a lower, more powerful house, is called the House of Commons. The Senate has 104 members. Senators are appointed by the governor generally on Prime Minister's recommendation

Personali juhtimine ja organisatsiooni käitumine inglise keeles

In some cases the high rate of staff turnover and absenteeism are associated with the low level of organisational commitment. Sometimes, when organizational commitment is over-commitment it may cause neurotic compulsion to succeed, extreme high level of energy, overly loyal employees. On the other hand, when commitment is under-commitment it may cause fear of success or failure, chronic and persistent procrastination. Organisations whose members have higher levels of commitment show higher performance and productivity and lower levels of absenteeism and tardiness. This implies that employees with a high level of commitment tend to take greater efforts to perform and invest their resources in the organisation. Other positive effects of organisational commitment include feelings of affiliation, attachment and citizenship behaviour, which tend to improve organisational efficiency and effectiveness (Williams & Anderson)

Exposing the Human Condition in Antigone

As is brought out later, Kreon never listened to other peoples advice until it was too late. In the above passage Antigone heroically faces up to the most powerful man, the King, knowing he could kill her in an instance, but still she tells him he is wrong. Being strongly tied to a family, where you would risk death is one thing, but as in any family a person usually takes their anger and frustrations out on individual family members, as in this passage on page 24, lines 100-103: "Then weakness will be your plea./I am different. I love my brother/and I'm going to bury him, now." Antigone, non-heroically, accuses Ismene of not loving her brother, but of course Ismene loved her brother, Ismene was just afraid of the king. Antigone, in the heat of the moment, took Ismene's frightened state as a sign of the lack of love on Ismene's part.
