Assignment Module 3 - BEPS project Action 4

BEPS project Action 4: Interest deductions and other financial payments Maris Leemets 10.08.2016 Peer Assignment in Module 3 The OECD with its Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) project is working towards proposing politically feasible and multilaterally acceptable ways to minimize the corporate tax base erosion and profit shifting activities since 2013. Out of its 15 main lines of work under BEPS project (called Actions) I will concentrate on Action 4 which aims at proposing new rules for preventing the manipulation of interest expense related tax deductions of corporates. The underlying problem is that multinational groups can easily create and relocate debt in their group according to the most preferential tax treatment available which in some cases results in no or even negative corporate tax payments fr...

Scientist

But my huge affection is penguins. That's why I'm going to see how they are doing, after I have finished my coffee. I'll check how many of them are on the ice and does they have their food. We try to interrupt penguins as less as possible. That's why they look themselves the food and place to stay. Mostly they eat fishes and squids. After those duties with them are done, It's almost afternoon. Then I crab some lunch and chat with some other scientists. We are making quite progress in exploring penguins. After my lunch I go to see them again. I watch their actions and habits and write everything down. In the evening I try to write for my research. After that I go to sleep to wake up again in the new morning and all this starts over.

Computers in every classroom

Computers in every classroom Nowadays computers are becoming more and more unavoidable. We read newspapers from internet, make bank transfers, work and study with them as well. Although computers are making our lifes easier I do not support placing computers to classrooms. Firstly, when students sit in front of the computers from lesson to lesson then their scholastic proficiency will degenerate because they will surf on the internet, chat on MSN and so on. It is doubtless that computers in classroom scatter students attention. Furthermore, computers damage students health. The rays what computer screen vomit are very harmful, so staring at computer screen too much will cause intense damages to people eyes. So from that viewpoint it is absurd to put computers to every classroom. On the other hand, computers in every classroom would make students life easier. They could take notes by computer and a...

The Advantages and Disadvantages of being immortal

I think most people, who hear about being immortal, think that it would be great. But if they think about it, then they realise that it also has its bad side. For example, you won't grow older of the age you started being immortal, and you will always have the same look, just as 30 or 50 years ago. All the memories from your childhood will vanish in time. A problem with population would come up in 20-30 years after making people immortal. The world is even now being overcrowded in many places, such as China and India. What would happen if 10 generations in a row would be immortal and would give birth to more and more children? In my opinion, it would be wrong to be immortal, because people are meant to die when it's time for it, not to postpone it.

Some of the 37 other participants further along in the project can differentiate plates from cups, tell grass from sidewalk, sort white socks from dark, distinguish doors and windows, identify large letters of the alphabet, and see where people are, albeit not details about them. Fast Development of modern technology- a blessing or a curse?

Fast Development of modern technology- a blessing or a curse? Science and technology have brought about tremendous changes in people's lives. Scientific research continues to explore the fields that people previously undreamed of. Fifty years ago, few people could even imagine things like computers, lasers and space-scuttles. Now all these newly invented technologies are benefiting people all over the world. In a word, advanced science and technology has made man master of the globe. As is known to all, each coin has two sides. When we are enjoying the remarkable wonders which science and technology has brought us, we are suffering at the same time from a lot of troubles. For example, environmental pollution, noise, green-house effect and nuclear weapons are the things we did not need to bother about in the past. But these problems nowadays are not only making our life inconvenient, but even dangerous. In my opin...

America in the nineteenth century. Other western countries embraced the holiday in the late twentieth century. Halloween is celebrated in several parts of the Western world, most commonly in Ireland, the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom and occasionally in parts of Australia and New Zealand. The symbols are pumpkin, mythical monsters, black cats, scarecrows. Before you can enjoy Halloween you must do a lot of preparations. Like making the holiday decoration. You must also have candy for the trick-or-treaters. That is if you don`t want to find eggs on your house. The main activities are trick-or-treating and throwing eggs at people houses for hooligans. I think it is a holiday like any other. I don`t turn much attention to it. Hope to hear from you soon. Best wishes Karl

I think no, they aren't best way to test intelligent. Because the majority of students are very nervous during exams and they can't focus and making mistakes. There also will not be enough time. Does anyone in real life situation prohibit you to check your spelling grammar from dictionary or look online help for the problems. Some people are smarter, while others do not. Also I hate thinking like all people need to be good at any skill. It's impossible, there are smart people and creative people, never both, who have both skills have poor skills. Advantages and disadvantages of fast food

easiest and almost cheapest food. I think this is the main reason why people do it. One of the biggest advantages of fast food is that a restoran, who sells fast food, has a restoran in every corner. If you want to eat something, you are in a hurry, then you just jump in to fast food restoran and problem solved. But still why isn't fast food good? Easiest explanation it is fast food. It's too fatty, it's not healthy and it's making you fat- if you eat it too often. Some people even says it's like a poision for you body. If you choose fast food, you mast have pretty good reason why you chose it. It's not good for you. Better believe it-choose always food which is better for your healthy. You want to live your life for very long time and you need your body to do it. Keep your body healthy! Fast food may be the easiest and the cheapest but it isn't the best! Choose the best, always!

Modern technology

Technology has become a very important part of our lives nowadays. It can be argued that modern technology makes life easier and more dignified for most of people. Technology may be very helpful but it can sometimes be very harmful. Firstly, medical science is very progressive and vastly available. Without the needed technology a lot of people would struggle with their health. Secondly, some of the creations that have really changed our lives are the computer, telephone, transport, internet and electronic media, television. The modern means of transportation allows people to move quickly from one place to another. The airplane is the most widely used means of transportation. The Internet has changed the way the people communicate to each other. With every passing day, more and more people use chat as a way to communicate. It is a way to meet new people, but it is also a way to decrease real relationships day after day. And The major di...

Report

According to the latest Census, the aim of this report is to figure out how much time people spend on household chores. The following points give us a good overview how men and women do it in Estonia. This report was commissioned by the Estonian Department of Statistics. It can be seen from the chart that both men and women spend about eight hours on household chores in Estonia. Men spend most of their time on building and making repairs. Less than an hour of their time is spent on gardening and pet care. Moreover men also like cooking and laundry in spite of losing their manhood. As expected, women occupy most of their time on child care. However it is surprising that they spend nearly one fifth on building. The reason for this may be due to men having more jobs outside of the home, earning money for the family. On the basis of the points mentioned above, men and women share in doing all tasks

Too much money is being spent on preserving the old part of town

Too much money is being spent on preserving the old part of town The Medieval Old Town is the center of Tallinn. Most of the major national and international companies are headquartered near the Old Town. Since the economy is not in a good shape right now the question of financing the old parts of Tallinn has been raised. Many people claim that spending money on preserving the old parts of Tallinn is not the best idea when people are having hard times. They are having trouble with making money in the first place. Also there are other fields, which are more important than the Old Town, such as education that need to be financed. Nevertheless, the Old Town is very important to tourism. For this reason money spent on old parts of Tallinn is not money wasted. Tourism is extremely important in todays economy and the Old Town of Tallinn is the main Estonian tourist attraction. It even became a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site and it is often referred to as the medieval pearl of

For example, some of them can sell something very cheap that they do not need anymore. Moreover, people can chat without paying for expensive message service. For instance, messages over the internet are more than ten times cheaper. On the otherhand, social networks are making people lazier. In fact, it is comfortable to sit behind computer and text instead of meeting eachother. Furthermore, people do not know that their information is totally unprotected and visible for everyone. Last but not least, visiting social networks like facebook, twitter, snapchat and so on, makes people addicted. For example, people often forget themselves surfing hours on these pages. Positive sides of outdoor learning

require higher-level thinking and collaboration with peers. Students nowadays do not spend as much time outside as the generation before them. This situation might cause them health problems and wrong lifestyle choices. Reasons why they are spending less and less time outside are that today we have so many indoor activities that students are keen on and parents are too cautious, preventing accidents. Outdoor education can improve student's health, while taking place in fresh air and making students physically active. The more students show their potential and skills, the more parents will allow them to be independent. If we want to set the pattern of being active daily, we should involve outdoor education into our curriculum on a regular basis. Students practitioning outdoor education already in elementary school are more likely to be physically active and enjoy outdoors in their future life too.

Pros and Cons of the Capital Punishment

Pros and Cons of the Capital Punishment. The death penalty is a controversial issue in most countries, but it is completely abolished in our country. Arguments for and against it are based on moral, practical, religious and emotional groups. On the one hand, there are advocates of the death penalty, who argue that it deters crime, improves community by making them sure, that convicted criminals would never find their way out onto the streets to offend again and it is cheaper than keeping convicted criminals in high security prison for the rest of their natural lives. On the other hand, there are opponents of the death penalty claim that `capital punishment cheapens human's life and government on the same low moral level as criminals who have taken life.` personally, I strongly support this idea. I think, that the government must be smarter and

Windpower

Wind power is very old power source, sailing ships have been using wind power for at least 5,500 years. The first practical windmills were built in Afghanistan, from the 7th century to grind corn and draw up water. The first windmill for electricity production was built in Scotland in 1887 to power the lighting in the cottage, thus making it the first house in the world to have its electricity supplied by wind power. During the Second World War, small wind generators were to recharge submarine batteries. In the 1990s, wind power became more important, because fossil fuels pollute the atmosphere and humanity needed alternative fuels. That's because wind power is so necessary. Wind power is also renewable energy and it doesn't cause greenhouse gases.

intensity, the tension is huge. Many of the scenes and camera angles are repeated since Micah places the camera in the same place each evening while the couple sleeps. Many of the shots are hard to see in the dark and often reaction shots are lost because the filmmakers were limited by one camera. However, this also lends to the realism. The film's intention is to scare you, and it succeeds largely because it looks and feels like stuff you find on YouTube, making the terror uncomfortably real. Is it the scariest movie ever made? You'll have to make that judgement for yourself ... but I will say this: it's 1am, and I don't want to finish this review because then I'll have to turn off my light.

Eesti üritused, toidud, spordialad, talv

evening with their most important people. 3. Estonians have simple and very traditional food : potatoes, sauce, black pudding, roast pork and also sober cabbage is a traditional food. 4. My favorite winter sports is skiing. I prefer it to others, because the other winter sports don´t attract me. I think this is the most classic and most spread winter sports. 5. I usually spend my winter holidays at home. I spend them with resting from school and also making sports. For example, if there is snow, i go skiing every day. 6. I enjoy mild winter. It is so, because I´m a bit afraid of cold and i don´t like it very much. If winter is cold, i don ´t have motivation to go outside and spend time there. 7. If i could move where ever i want, i probably will move to Spain. It´s quite warm there during the whole year, and it´s also very delightful place, where to live.

The school holiday

the adventure games. You can go to the gym or run every day 5 km. I like to go hiking in the woods or just take a daytrip to a city where I have never been before. The other possibility is to go for a mental challenge, like learning new language, or reading an interesting book. It is good challenge to take a science or philosophy book, something that is not so easy to read so you can be proud of yourself after finishing it. It is also possible to learn new skills such as cooking or dancing or making yourself a short film or learn a new computer program. Some people find yourself a job for a holiday and earn money. Sometimes all it takes to feel challenged is just to do old things differently or meet new people. Any type of challenge is possible as you look to push yourself to new limits. So next time I will plan my holiday more carefully and make it to be a dream holiday, I will challenge myself and leave that comfort zone behind.

Is global climate change man-made or not?

economic decay in many countries, especially in some undeveloped countries. Therefore it is very important to find out who is guilty of the climate changing. Many people are confident that the reason of global warming is man made carbon dioxide. Over the last hundred years our society has been developing very fast: there has been built a huge amount of different factories, has been made so many inventions in all fields of human activity. Unfortunately only recently we have noticed that by making our life more comfortable and more enjoyable we destroy nature and cause appearance of ozone holes which are directly connected with global warming. On the other hand many scientists believe the world's warming and cooling happens in cycles due to various factors and Earth is starting a cooling trend after a long warming trend. That way global warming does not depend on people's activity. We have seen and heard so many times how was discussed the problem of global

A book worth reading

a girlfriend, travel to the Netherlands to meet Hazel’s favourite author and much more. Unlike any other teenage-cliche movie it has a tragic, tearful ending, that makes a reader realize and value the existance of her or his own loved ones in life. What author John Green has managed to achieve is the realistic description of heroic cancer figthers with all the ups and downs of a teenage person. The book is full of witty humor, heartbreaking happenings, making a reader laugh, cry and smile again within only 313 pages. I thoroughly recommend this book!

In 1798 he faced challenge when in continental Europe controlled by revolutionary France,. In Toulon French were making big fleet and army. Easter traditions in Estonia

make them fresh and goodlooking for rest of the year. After they dance and sing and dance traditional round dances. It used to be the only day when men stayed at home and took care of the house and children. Women colored their cheeks with a herb "naistepuna" ("women's red") and went to tavern to have some red liqueur. Celebrating spring contains more or less fertilizing rituals. As we have to do a lot of work to making something grow, these rituals have an important place in our traditions. It is not only necessary for getting a good harvest from your field but also having a lot of children who will work in your farm.
