In this picture, uniting hands from diffrent race is powerful for everybody, you can not see this often. Thats why this picture shows us that all people can be friends if we try and ignore that we are diffrent. We might be diffrent from outside, but we are not diffrent in inside. Today society is all about rasicism and that is causing so much trouble and problems, especially in USA. We cant choose our race, skin colour or location where we living. We born and we die togheter. In this picture there is soldiers in there uniform, weapons, they are somewhere in bunker, it seems like it is cold war. Some of them seems happy and some not. Essay about Food Inc

coliform bacteria. Salmonella and coliform bacteria infected food can lead to serious diseases and death. The chickens are raised in dark rooms, where there isn’t even room to move. They live in the middle of their own droppings and they eat each other. They are fed stuff that make them grow faster and bigger. The chickens can’t carry their own weight and fall down. Employees hit and toture them. I find horrifying how the chikens are treated as plain food not living creatures. Cows and pigs are treated in the same way. Most of the food in America is controlled and manufactured by few main companies. The major food companies make huge profits of which are based on supplying cheap but contaminated food, the heavy use of petroleum-based chemicals (largely pesticides and fertilizers), and the promotion of unhealthy food consumption habits by the American public. I think that it’s absolutely wrong how the food indrustries and farms work. Nowadays, it’s all

Halloween

Halloween Halloween is a holiday in many English speaking countries that is celebrated on the night of October 31st. Children wear costumes and they go to peoples' homes saying "Trick or treat!" to ask for candy, sweets. This practice originally involved a threat. A threat is when someone says that they will do something bad if they do not get what they want. In this case the threat could be explained as: "Give me a treat or I will play a trick on you." Children today usually do not play tricks if they do not get treats. However, some children still get up to mischief (pranks or things to make fun of people; like putting toilet paper in trees; writing on windows with soap or throwing eggs at peoples' houses). People sometimes dress up as ghosts, witches, goblins and other scary things for Halloween. A jack-o-lantern is typically a carved pumpkin. It is associated chiefly with the holiday of Halloween. The tradition of carving...

Fair Trade Tourism

Tourists from all over the world traipse through the villages and this causes cultural and economic disaster. Also the benefits of toursim are often skimmed off by businessmen from outside the community. It ruins and changes the local peoples culture. The Masai of East Africa, for instance, are used as icons of exoticism in toursism, but they have been evicted from their lands. The Masais are selling souvenirs, charging for pictures and performing their sacred dances for tourists to get living. These things show that the destruction is not just a superficial consenquence of tourism, but is often an indication of much more deep-rooted cultural changes. But a quiet cultural revolution is happening. Communities are standing up and asking for something different. Over the last decade there has been a rapid growth in local ,,alternative tourism" initiatives. This means that buildings are built by locals with sustainable local

Mozart and his father Leopold Mozart

Mozart is best known today as the father and teacher of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart and his father Mozart was lucky to have a an experienced musician as a father. Leopold immediately recognised the potential in Wolfgang. He dedicated his life to supporting his son’s talent. Despite, or perhaps because, of their different characters, Wolfgang and Leopold Mozart were dependent on each other. For the remainder of his life, when Wolfgang had been working and living with his wife Constanze in Vienna for a considerable period of time, Leopold Mozart continued a dialogue with his son by writing letters.  Moving to Vienna Wolfgang left home for good in 1781. The move almost certainly aided Wolfgang's musical development; the great majority of his most celebrated works were composed in Vienna. As indicated by Mozart's return letters (which alone survive), Leopold was strongly opposed to the Vienna move, wanting Wolfgang to return to Salzburg

During the journey, many people suffered from illnesses or died. When the boats arrived at Ellis island, new settlers often had to wait a medical examination. As many Irish immigrants were uneducated, the man worked at building bridges, canals and women became maids, cooks. What methods should parents and governments use to tackle obesity in schoolchildren?

What methods should parents and governments use to tackle obesity in schoolchildren? At the beginning of 21st century obesity amongst has become a major issue in many highly developed countries such as Germany and United Kingdom. Kids are participating in less physical activities then before and food that has high sugar and fat content is easily accessible for them. Thanks to modern day society it does not seem like the rates are going down themselves any time soon. What could government and/or parents do to make youngsters lifestyle healthier? One approach that parents should consider is to influence their children to part-take in a heathy lifestyle. It is probably true to say that kids who are used to eating junk food and low physical activity are more likely to become overweight sooner or later. By changing living habits and stepping up as good role models parents should adapt food that is beneficial and doing sports into norma...

When he first arrived in Paris, he experienced a cultural shock and got inspired by it. He started to keep a diary of his experiences and decided to publish it as a novel when the Anglo-French relationships were at their worst during the Iraq War spring 2003. I can say that this is one of my ideal houses where to spend my youth time. Of course when I plan to have a family I will move to a house which is more suitable for me an my family. London

London There were some people living on the banks of the Thames when the Romans came to England in 43 AD. But we don't know much about them. London first called Londinium . In 200 they built a wall around their city, a part of which can still be seen near the Museum of London . London Bridge was built in stone in 1176. It was London's only bridge until 1729. Now there are about twenty bridges . London soon became the largest city in England and by the time of the Norman Conquest in 1066 it had become the most important city in Britain. It grew in are and population until September 1666, when the Great Fire destroyed four fifths of the wooden buildings in the City including St Paul's Cathedral. The fire began in the kitchen of King's baker in Pudding Lane and lasted for five days. London is an exciting city which attracts people from all over the world. Advantages and disadvantages of fast food

It is a fact that fast food is more unhealthy than home-cooked meals. Fast food saves more time and money than cooking a meal at home. People can find fast food anywhere, like chips, sandwiches, pizza, hamburgers, French fries, chicken nuggets, tacos. However, by making some smart choices we can definitely minimize the drawbacks of fast food. And what is most important, we only ourselves can choose how bad or good lifestyle we are living and is this the one for TTG 10c Anette-Marie Arula

Carbon capture and storage

Humans are changeing the planet with their ordinary life. The principle cause of climate change is the increase in carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere. The main cause of that is the burning of fossile fuels. This is leading to the global warming. People have discovered a way to reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. It is possible to seperate the CO2 from the other gases by adding liquid which is very good at absorbing CO2. Then it can be pumped to underground. Scientist came up with this idea because methane gas has been down there for thousands of years and it has not come up. So they expect that the CO2 won't be coming up either. To be sure of that, they are coing to make a test and drill two wells to take purified CO2, inject it into the ground and monitor the physical changes that CO2 undergoes. This technology is really new and it is unknown to people. It has not been proven yet, so people are scared and concerned...

Looks - how important

Looks how important? Look is quality, which guarantees us first impression of everything. If we can see a repulsive object, then we would not like to know more about it. Conversely looking object makes us feel different. Is look really so important? Why can´t we be ourselves although our look might be different from the view from the streets? I personally love to be myself. I love to feel comfort, that I create with clothes, that I wear. I get my hair cut if it limits my view. Although my thoughts I am pushed by my comrades. If I dressed in public as I dress at home, I would definitely be stared! I am not the one, who makes the rules, I follow them! My friends might still know who I really am, but making new friends is difficult or even impossible because of my own "freestyle". Taking care of look belongs to grown-up behavior! Luckily of unfortunately is look the base of communication, servicing and relat...

The hotspot is home to the giant sequoia, the planet's largest living organism and its taller but less massive relative, the coastal redwood. This region also holds a number of threatened endemic species such as the giant kangaroo rat and the desert slender salamander, and some of the last individuals of the Critically Endangered California condor can still be found here. In fact, it is the largest avian breeding ground in the United States. Wilderness destruction caused by commercial farming is a major threat for the region

Should space exploration be a priority

toxic waste we no longer have room here. Besides that, a war could break out involving majority of the countries which would lead to total destruction and it might be harder to rebuild the society here than to move to another planet that is not damaged. On the other hand, the money and time we would spend on space exploration by making it our priority might be better off spent here on earth. We could instead study our planet more to find new ways we could make living here better. Also we could invest in building better factories, which wouldn't damage the earth and put our lives in danger. In conclusion, space exploration is important because one day we might need help from somewhere else but that doesn't mean that that should be the only thing we focus on. In my opinion we should take care of our own planet and let it be our priority because destroying one planet after another wouldn't work out very well

My home town of Valga

straddles two countries. So it has two languages, two currencies and two cultures. Valga also has a rich history and a versatile cultural scene. Valga town is a pearl waiting to be discovered. In the south, Estonia shares a border with Latvia and here Valga town is split in half, the northern side, "Valga", belongs to Estonia and "Valka", on the southern side, belongs to Latvia. For years, this created a complicated situation where members of one family, even living on the same street, may have had different citizenships and had to go through customs and border guards in order to visit each other. Fortunately, after both countries joined the Schengen zone, border points were removed and Valga-Valka is fast overcoming the separation issues. Two different currencies languages and cultures still remain, making the town an interesting holiday destination. Where else could you stand, one foot in one country, holding "jäätis" in your left hand

Capital punishments should not be abolished

Some people think that some criminals should just spend their whole life in prison and suffer there instead of capital punishment. I think that they deserve capital punishment. Why? If they spend their whole life in prison, it means, they will have three free meals in a day and they can also watch tv, study, work, don't have to pay taxes and some of the prisons look more nicer than someone's ordinary home and who pays for their free living? We do. I also think that some of the criminal are kind of mentally ill and they will never feel guilty of what they did and some are even proud of it if they have murdered or tortured somebody's daughter or son and and all they get for punishment is carefree life? No. It's my opinion that they should be treated same as way as they treated someone else and in many cases it means capital punishment. Also it's said that if we abolish capital punishment, we will save lives. Most of the criminals,

"Rain man"

One brother, Raymond, is autistic and no one seems to understand what it really is that they are dealing with. The other brother, Charlie, is greedy and selfish, at least in the beginning of the movie. Somehow that changes as the film evolves. The main problem in this movie is greed. Charlie only cares about money. When he finds out that his estranged father had left his inheritance to someone else, he gets mad. That is the reason why he took Raymond from the institution where he was living. He wanted to take the money from his brother even when he realised that there was something wrong with him. At least he came to his senses in the end. The second problem revolves around Raymond and his disability. No one understood what he was going through. At that time, autism wasn't a widely known disorder. Nowadays, there is still no actual cure for it but it can be managed. Many people who are autistic can live relatively normal lives

tissues. They have also been found in organisms throughout the world oceans because they are dispersed quickly by winds and currents. Another problem that affects the marine life is excess phosphorus and nitrogen flow into the sea from towns, factories and other man-made sources which cause intense algae growth. Algal blooming consumes large amounts of dissolved oxygen and in areas with poorer water exchange the oxygen runs out and living organisms will not survive there. Also, the author points out a problem considering heavy metals which increase the water toxicity. It is estimated that about half of heavy metal inputs to the North and Baltic Seas originate as air pollutants. Heavy metals are indestructible and do not break down. When they sink to the bottom and stay strapped there, they may become toxic to the organisms in the area and also, for people, birds and animals who eat the contaminated water organisms.

The United States of America

Chicago is famous for its meat factories and has earned a bad name as a home of gangsters. Los Angeles is an important centre of modern industries. Not far from it is Hollywood, the world-famous centre of the US film business. America has the largest economy of any single country in the world, with a total product of almost $8 trillion a year. Its people have the highest standard of living of any large country in the world; only a few small countries have the higher standards of living. Its economy is still growing, but several other important countries are growing even faster at the present time. There is a widespread belief, both in America and in other countries, that the United States is in economic decline. Agriculture is very wide-spread, above all in the prairie regions, where wheat and other grain crops are grown. Cotton is grown in the Mississippi valley, tobacco in Maryland and Virginia. California is famous for its fruit, and the west for its cattle-farming

Irish Potato Famine

Potatoes were grown because they have all the necessary vitamins in them and only the potatoes would suffice to feed a family when grown on such tiny holdings. In 1845 a fungus, called Phytophthora infestans (commonly known as potato blight) attacked the potato crop and destroyed half of it. Yet, this was not a catastrophe and people would pray for the next years' crop to be a proper one but it was even worse and on top of that, the winter of 1846 was the "severest in living memory". The crop, which previously had provided 60% of the nations' food needs, failed. Many families were evicted because they couldn't pay for their land. Hand in hand, starvation and diseases spreaded all across the country. As soon as spring began, people started emigrating to Canada - ships bringing lumber to England were glad to receive paying passengers. Almost every ship had a third of their passenger's die at sea or upon their arrival. On the shores of Quebec eyewitnesses saw

Internet (inglise keeles)

something. The Internet is used in similar ways around the world. Through its low costs it is good way to communicate with friends and family, especially contact with those who are far away. For me at the moment internet is the main way for talking with my family and friends. Also for some people it might be good place to find friends around the world. One of my friends once started to chat with a person through the internet who was living in a different country and as far as I know they have became quite good friends and have even visited each other. From my point of view, there is not going to be a problem of changing real friends for computers as long as the people will still remain with human feelings.

Letter and Essay 2008

that going to work is a better decision. But what are the advantages of both options? To begin with, the benfits of university cannot be denied. Even today people with degrees and more skilled workers are in need. Over the next ten years most of the new jobs will need people who have skills and education that universities offer. Moreover, not only does a degree boost your education and skills, it also enables you to earn a better living. Nevertheless, going to work after secondary school has its advantages too, particularly when a person is not interested in studying hard for five years. For example, it is wise to start working in a large company, where you have room for growth and which has a higher number of positions. Therefore, you can get your foot in the door and have the opportunity to build your skills, earn money and start climbing the career ladder.

Technology and choice

But mayby in the future we have a choice of what kind a baby we would like. You'll never know, perhaps they will make a menu and you can select a baby of your own taste. You could choose a girl with hot body and kind heart. In addition you could make her intelligence high, make her tall and give her hobbies. I think that it may be nice to choose hair color and eye color, and even gender. But choosing whether he/she will be smart, stupid or tall is just a bit wierd for me. We'ev been living this way for a very long time and now they think they're going to change the world and everything will be as it has been forever. I don't think so. One the one hand it would be great for some people, because I think that if you can choose if he or she is smart then you probably could change some kind of disease that has been in the family for decades. On the other hand, if you can choose, you can make and somebody might make something grazy out of it, legally. They
