Imagination will make us infinite

Imagination will make us infinite Can you imagine life without imagination? Now i know that sounds like a silly question, but really think about it. What if we didn’t have the ability to mentally time travel and we were froced to live and think in the present moment at all times? To be perfectly honest, life couldn’t exist this way. You see imagination at its core is the beginning of all creation. Everything that we see, everything that we touch, all came from someones thought. Their imagination running wild. Albert Einstein said that “Imagination is more important than

„As above so below”

A book review The book I read was „As above so below”. It was written by Peter Brugel in 2002. The book covers basically all of the generes: horror, historical, science-fiction, and romance. The bookis about six people in Paris, France in the 16th century. The two main characters know eachother. Their main reason was to get to the chatocombs so they would find the phylosofers stone and to get there they need people who know the place around. So they stumbled across three more people who would help them to get there. But the chatacombs has a paranormal power and some of the characters unfortunately die. The names of the main characters are Scarlet and George. Scarlet is a phylosofist and she knows many languages where two of them even are the languages of the dead. George in the other hand is stubern, but he is smart as well and he knows a different kind of language of the dead, which Scarlet doesn’t know. There

Revision Questions 2013

She is the one who opens the Parliament every fall for the next session. She is however more of a representative than an actual decision maker these days. 5. What is the British Parliament made up of? What are their roles? It's made of 3 parts: the monarch, the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The House of Lords can ask the House of Commons to rewrite parts of the bill. The bill needs the Queen's signature to pass. The House of Commons writes the bills. 6. What do you know about the Wars of the Roses? It was a war between two families, one had a red rose as their symbol and the other had a white rose as their symbol. The war was about who should be on the throne, the red rose won and thereafter the red rose has been the symbol of England. 7. How was Protestantism established in England? When and by who? It was established by Henry VIII because he wanted to divorce his first wife. Up until then England was Catholic and divorcing was not allowed for him

"Tarkus on teadmine, kui vähe me teame"

Tarkus on teadmine, kui vähe me teame David T. Freeman on öelnud „the more you know, the more you realize how much you don’t know. The less you know, the more you think you know.“ Ehk, mida rohkem sa tead, seda enam sa mõistad kui vähe sa tegelikult tead ning mida vähem sa tead, seda rohkem sa arvad, et seda enam sa tead. Need, kes armastavad avastada ning õppida, leiavad üks hetk end selle paradoksi ees, kus nad teavad palju, aga tunnevad, et teavad niivõrd vähe. Samas on inimesi kes on intelligentsed, aga kannatavad illusoorse alaväärsuse all. Nad ihaldavad teadmisi kõige

It is a huge old light brown wooden piece of furniture. It squeaks when I switch sides or when I climb into it. I sleep on the second level and sometimes I am truly scared for my life. It is not as sturdy as I would like it to be. The bottom step on the ladder is loose and I know that one night I am going to fall thanks to that. It has carvings, but they are all scribbles made by previous sleepers. The mattress is worn out and needs to be replaced. It is stained beyond sense. Infotehnoloogiast ja suhtlusvõrgud

There have been more than 100 billion friend connections on Facebook. It is really nice to be able to connect with someone in a second but people should watch more carefully how these networks affect their real life relationships. On the other side, the internet is the biggest brain that exists in the world. It has the most knowledge in it but people should be careful what are they using it for. The internet is the best and quickest way to learn about the things you want to know. It is very easy today to find the information you need. Google is the biggest search engine in the web and it was firstly known in 1996. Today, Google receives about a billions search requests per day. But it is sure that not all of the requests are not sent because the person wants exactly to learn something. One more big question lies on the e-system, which is for example largely used in Estonia. There is e-school, e-banking, e-election and so on. It is very honorable that

It´s a student´s life

Dear Mr Faraday, I am writing with reference to the article entitled ,, It´s a student´s life" which appeared in the magazine, English in action. Following a note from my friend, recommending that I should express my opinion with some of the views, which the article contained.. Firstly, I can definitely say that I have to disagree that student´s do not know the meaning of the word ,,work." As I am a student also, I know from personal experience that a large quantity of students have been in contact with work in some way or another. In some cases students have to earn their living simultaneously with their studies. Moreover you claimed that students do not contribute nothing to the society. In the student's defence I have to mention that, we are growing individuals, who develop to be the best contribution and enrichment to our country. So I think it is wrong to judge the book by it's covers.

Article:How to be a better guest

How to be a better guest There is something about Estonians As there has been a big increase in the number of people applying for study exchanges to Estonia, it is good to know some rules, habits and social life about Estonians. Being first time with new family you should know, that keeping a low profile is a half success. As the Estonians are uncommunicative people, the first look matters also a lot. But sometimes Estonians like open people too, who talk a lot, because we like to hear a lot but not talk much about ourselves. Secondly the Estonians do not hug and kiss on their first meetings. It is common in relationship or friendship but not in the first meeting. Shaking hands or just saying `'Tere'', which means hello, would be appropriate

“What does success come from?”

"What does success come from?" "What does success come from?"is a question that every one wants to know exactly the answer. The first group of people thinks that taking risks or chances is what a person needs to become successful in his life while the second one whom I agree with believes that careful planning is the most important cause of our success in life. Careful planning may be simply considered as preparation that can be understood that one identifies his aim, lists his steps, and does a research if necessary. Analyzing it in that way, we

There should be compulsory school subjects. Students should be allowed to choose the subjects they want to study. Do you agree?

because peolple should concentrate on the subjects that will be useful for them in the future. For example: for a person who wants to study Polish philology, maths and physics may not be important. Students should be given the opportunity to take their future into their own hands. So choosing a subject for student who hae had first hand decisions on what to do in high schools will be determinated for them and their career. On other hand, young people usually don't know what they will do in the future, so it can be very difficult for them to make a choice. They have to learn all subjects for a few years to have a possibility to choose some of them. Moreover, people need to have general knowledge about the world. It is good to know at least some basic things about everything. And of course some students might only choose ,,easy" subjects. To conclude, high schools are places where students go to prepare for

Kokkuvõte: "What makes a good leader?"

What makes a good leader? There are many different leadership theories and opinions about characteristics and skills that leader should have. The Great Man Theory declares that the leaders are born not made, but the another theory claims that some people just have more leadership gifts than others. It's good to know leadership theories because the better you know them, the better you are likely to lead. If you want to succeed in your career or business, it is important to be the leader in your field. Leaders need clear sense of their calling and they need to be curios about it to notice new things. Nevertheless good leaders have to remember that they don't know everything. There are general characteristics that good leader should have. Bill George thinks also that leadership is not about skills, but about leaders character

Lessons for the future

system's top priority is quite right, but I think that there can be a lot more done to improve our educational structure. I find that Estonian schools should pay more attention to teaching our children current state in our political landscape. Kids, who go to school, are our future and soon-to-be full- right voters in national elections. They will become old and independent enough to be a part of deciding process over their country's future. So, it is very important that they would know which political party stands for what beliefs and who are the politicians in Estonia who are leading our country. Youth, especially youngsters aged 15-18 should know or find out what is their political affiliation. Politics, elections, new laws, different kinds of reforms are constant part of our lives and that is why it is vital for also young people to be well-educated about those subjects. At present, the youngsters spend most of their free time staring at computer

But there is no need for it since this wall is my home and I am very sure in my capability of staying here. My most valuable asset is my cravat. It sometimes upsets me when others can't tell the difference between a cravat and a belt. It is just one of those things you know, that gets you all upset. But anyhow the cravat was an un-birthday present from the White King and Queen. I just love un-birthdays! Imagine that 364 presents a year. What a delight. I consider myself very wise and helpful. I know a great deal of words and I am very good at giving words meanings. You know I once helped a little girl understand a long and difficult poem. Looks how important? Look is quality, which guarantees us first impression of everything. If we can see a repulsive object, then we would not like to know more about it. Conversely looking object makes us feel different. Is look really so important? Why can´t we be ourselves although our look might be different from the view from the streets? I personally love to be myself. I love to feel comfort, that I create with clothes, that I wear. I get my hair cut if it limits my view. Although my thoughts I am pushed by my comrades. To Protect or not Protect Minor Languages

culture and if we terminate the variety of cultures that have developed throughout the evolution of mankind then the world would be boring. There would be no languages to learn, no foreign songs to sing and no joy of knowing that you can speak to a foreigner in his mother tongue. Also people are more friendly and open to you if they can speak freely in their mother language. But not protecting the minor languages can also be a good thing. As we know the world is globalising and the closest thing to a global language is English. Most of the internet and technology is in English, also lots of trading and business deals are written in English. Interesting is, that even in Estonia knowing and speaking English has come an expectation not a skill in the younger society, because in many jobs there is required to know a certain amount of English. In my opinion minor languages are the things that make small countries differ from other

When a world loses a language it loses a unique treasure

There were certain dances, for example kaera-jaan, and games, such as ''Me lähme rukkist lõikama''. In which people run around in pairs in circle and in certain place of the song, they start looking for another partner. And one will be left inside the circle without a partner. We played it in kindergarten. It was our tradition at every party. In my family we had a custom before the meal. We all held eachothers hands and we said: ''Õnnistatud söögiaega ja head isu!'' Also, I don't know if other cultures wish you luck with the work, but usually when estonians see another man working, they say: '' Jõudu tööle!'' and the worker answers: ''Jõudu tarvis!'' And a lot of lullabies haven't been written down. My mother use to sing to me: '' Maga-maga, minu väike, ammu looja läinud päike. Peagi une võluriiki

Every person should train each day

Every person should train each day Many people are training every day and the other people just watch and ask ,,Isn't that bad?". Yes, there are negative things about that, but mostly it is because you work out too hard and then the good things fade away. The biggest positive thing about training is that your body looks good. You feel more comfortable in it when you know you've worked very hard to get it. Another good thing about training every day is that you feel more energized. Usually you wake up in the morning and feel very tired, but when you go on a daily run, it wakes you up and you feel a lot better during the day. Some people think that it is bad for your health to train daily, but I disagree. Studies have shown that people who train are more healthy and they don't get ill as often as other people.

What Is Marriage

You order what you want, and when you see what the other person has, you wish you had ordered that instead. 7. There was this man who muttered a few words in the church and found himself married. A year later he muttered something in his sleep and found himself divorced. 8. A happy marriage is a matter of giving and taking; the husband gives and the wife takes. 9. Son: How much does it cost to get married, Dad? Father: I don't know son, I'm still paying for it. 10. Son: Is it true Dad? I heard that in ancient China, a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her. Father: That happens everywhere, son, EVERYWHERE! 11. Love is one long sweet dream, and marriage is the alarm clock. 12. They say that when a man holds a woman's hand before marriage, it is love; after marriage it is self-defense. 13. When a newly married man looks happy, we know why. But when a 10- year married man looks happy, we wonder why. 14

Walking for meetings - analysis of a Nilofer Merchant presentation

Home assignment Tallinn 2015 For the home assignment we had to choose one presentation from Ted.com. I chose about a 4 minute presentation by Nilofer Merchant on the following topic: “Got a meeting? Take a walk”. The main reason for choosing this presentation was that I had read Steve Jobs's biographical book and there he talked how he liked to go for a walk when having a meeting and therefore, I thought it would be a good idea to get to know a bit more about something that I already know about. Also, I think that in the future, it pays off to know some easy tricks about how to make your meetings more interesting, more memorable and more healthier. Last thing mentioned in the previous paragraph is nowadays in my opinion, one of the hottest topics and we can see it in the headlines on a daily basis. I am quite sure that people understand how important it is to take care of your health, but I in my opinion

Shakespeare " A midsummer night's dream"

Love is altered anywhere anytime and that's where people are so dumb they think that they will be together and that they will love each other and then they make dumb choices that ruin their lives. Puck put a spell so that Lysander would despise Hermia but what if that never happened can it be assumed that they would have been in love until their dying days? Is love true or false? Or is it just a chemical imbalance that people have which sends them into a unrealistic state of mind. We will never know the truth of love but that still doesnâTMt make a feeling rational just a mystery. So the next time you tell someone that you love them think of Hermia and Lysander and really mean everything that you say because you never know, you could wake and realize it was all a dream.

It didn't take long, four or five minutes at most, and she say very still through it all, watching him with a kind of dazed horror as he went further and further away from her with each word. "So there it is," he added. "And I know it's kind of a bad time to be telling you, bet there simply wasn't any other way. Of course I'll give you money and see you're looked after. But there needn't really be any fuss. I hope not anyway. It wouldn't be very good for my job." Her first instinct was not to believe any of it, to reject it all. It occurred to her that perhaps he hadn't even spoken, that she herself had imagined the whole thing. Maybe, if she went about her

Letter of advertisement

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing with regard to your advertisement in the newspaper " Times " on 10th September. I would be grateful if you could send me further information about the cars you introduce in your company. I would appreciate if you could answer a few questions I have. I am interested in buying a car for traveling through the Europe. I would like to know how fast is this car and if it consumes petrol or any other fuel. I would also like to know more about the test drive. I am interested in buying it, so I would be grateful if I could test this car . I wonder how many people can this car carry. I am living alone, so it would be better if car would look smaller. I love small sport cars more, than family cars. I want to thank you for reading my letter. I am looking forward to receive an answer from you . Yours faithfully, Karin Lett .

Reasons why human beings are unique

Neanderthals (left) didn't fare as well as we did (Credit: SPL) Neanderthals (left) didn't fare as well as we did (Credit: SPL) Humans and chimpanzees diverged from our common ancestor more than six million years ago. Fossil evidence points to the ways which we have gradually changed. We left the trees, started walking and began to live in larger groups. And then our brains got bigger. Physically we are another primate, but our bigger brains are unusual. We don't know exactly what led to our brains becoming the size they are today, but we seem to owe our complex reasoning abilities to it. It is likely that we have our big brain to thank that we exist at all. When we Homo sapiens first appeared about 200,000 years ago we weren't alone. We shared the planet at least four other upright cousins; Neanderthals, Denisovans, the "hobbit" Homo floresiensis and a mysterious fourth group. The human brain is advantageously big (Credit: Thinkstock)

Presentatsioon keskkonnast

These are the things that we need, to be alive, but they are also many man-made things and technical progresses that harm the nature. Therefore we can´t live on this planet without basic components which are needed for human existence - air, water and soil. Firstly air, which is mostly a mixture of oxygen and nitrogen. People, animals and plants can ´t live without air. Without oxygen there would be no fire. So we can see, that air is the basic condition for life on the Earth. Did you know that till 18th century people didn´t know composition of the air? They only used the knowledge of moving the air. Turning to water which covers over 71 % of Earth´s surface. It is also in underground and, naturally, in the air. Even clouds consist of water steam. People, animals and plants couldn´t live without water. Their bodys contain more than a half of water, they need water constantly. Thirdly soil, which is the surface of all continents. The soil on the Earth is not the same

SPEECH: Attitude rather than aptitude is the key to succsess

Attitude can be easily changed by impressions and experiences. Aptitude countrawise is given by nature and nobody can change it. You can only increase your aptitude a litte bit with hard work. Being open to new experiences could lead you to right direction. You just have to find things you're good at. Because it would be dissapointing to work really hard and alwats stay on the same level/ you probably wouldn't get far. Successful people know what they want to achive. They have a clearly defined goal. They are constantly seeking ways to learn and improve. A positive attitude or a constructive and optimistic way of looking at yourself and your work goes hand in hand with succsess. Actually all of us have enourmous potential, but lot of us are too lazy to take advantage of it. We could accomplish MUCH more if we are just willing to work on it. Nowadays is possible to do almost anything and to go almost anywhere

Sri Ishopanisad Introduction summary notes MRdd

Universal means applicable at all times, axiomatic- implicitly true. Vedic knowledge is superior to pratyaksha (direct sense perception) and anumana (mental speculation) knowledge. Both of them are defective yet they have their utility with some limitation. They are defective because they are human intelligent based they are finite and fallible. Divine intelligence is infinite and infallible. Beyond this world is transcendental world. The only way to know about transcendental knowledge is through scripture. Vedas ( Krishna) are the only way to know about trans realm. Spiritual world is not possible to perceive with material senses. Therefore we need spiritual perception. It happens through purification and awakening soul's spiritual faculties. But before that it happens through scriptures. Scripture is revealed to us by God who is able to perceive spiritual reality and He gives that revelation & explanation to us. Division of Vedic knowledge:

Past Tenses

If only I had an apple (now). Past Continuous Used to say that somebody was in the middle of doing something at a certain time in the past. At 10:30 yesterday, I was preparing lessons. What were you doing at 6:30? Often used with Past Simple to show a continuing action interrupted by a sudden action in the past. I was studying when the phone rang. (Remember: there are some verbs that have no continuous know, believe, heat, etc.) Present Perfect Simple Used to talk about finished actions in an unfinished time period. I have eaten three cookies today (the cookies are finished but today isn't). I have cleaned my room this morning (the cleaning is finished, but it's still morning). Often the time period isn't mentioned. That means that it's the lifetime of the speaker. I have travelled to Europe (in my life). If the person is dead we can't use Present Perfect.

Drug addiction is just a habit, like smoking or biting your nails.

Drug addiction is just a habit, like smoking or biting your nails. Drug users can give up if they want to. INTRODUCTION The drug problem in my town is very big problem. The older people do not know that, but I know it, because some of my friends do drugs. Drugs in my town are highly available everywere and almost from every person who do drugs. ARGUMENTS AGAINST Actually I do not think that doing drugs is just a habit like smoking or biting nails. It is addiction. When people are going to do drugs, then they may never come out of this trouble. They are just going to do it, and they can not stop it easily. It is not as simple as some people

La segunda, que el que verdaderamente ama es necesario que `se turbe con la dulzura del soberano deleite, que por el Hacedor de las cosas fue puesto, porque el linaje de los hombres `se perpetuase, sin lo cual perescería.
