Letter to the president

Dear Mr President , I am writing in order to invite you to our class during the ,,Back to school" week. I think that your coming to my class would be really instructive and interesting for students. It would give everyone an opportunity to ask about your school times, life as a president and your position. I am sure that find out about your professional knowledge, perks and official duties helps us to understand your profession better. However, the lesson would be in English, so students can express them thoughts and ask questions in English. It would help us to evolve our communication in the formal way and it makes us richer by the experience. Visiting our school would be useful for you too. We could discuss about the problems in the education system and offer our solutions to improve an education. You could communicate with the younger generation who respect you and will be indescribably happy about you visiting

There should be no compulsory school subjects

There should be no compulsory school subjects. Students should be allowed to choose subjects they want to study. In school students do not want to learn some subjects, still they have to do it. Some lessons may not like for pupils. For example, students have to learn foreign languages, be in a choir or do psychical educaion even if they do not like it at all. However, should there be compulsory subjects or should there be not? On the one hand, students do not work hard if they are not interested in the subject. Then they just waste their time doing nothing important. Also, if there are the subjects the student wants then there is no more undone homework, distracting or undiscipline. Furthermore, there are many students together wanting to learn the same thing and the associate of them is better.

The mobile phone - a good thing or a bad thing

afford one. Mobile phones have also disadvantages. · First of all, it can be argued that email is so easy. Thats because it takes time to get used to all new sorts of phones and tehqnologe. · A second point is that always talking face to face is better. Its also better because the person youre talking to can see your emotions. · A final and very important point is that you can get addicted to a mobile phone and it can take over your life. Overall, however, to my mind the pros of mobile phone easily outweight the cons and mobile phone is a good thing. It has transformed the world of communication in large ways.

What i value most in a friend

And in summer we always go beach together to sunbathe and swim. She is very trusty, friendly and funny. Both of us enjoy dancing. We use to visit clubs very often and party there. We also have differences, like everybody does. Merit doesn't like hip-hop music, I absolutely love it. In some ways we are very different. We have different activitis and lifestyles. My friend lives with her parents at home, but I live with my boyfriend. Some of my friends party a lot, however I stay at home most of my time. Firstly a good friend is someone who is honest! Friends should never lie to each other and stick together. Secondly, its important that you can always trust your friend, no matter what. A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

Stress in the life of young people today

Stress in the life of young people today Stress is a common problem in everyones life. However, it affects the young more than the adults. Young people are more easily influenced by it and often, can not cope with the pressure. The main reason why people are so stressed and overwhelmed all the time is the fast paced life we are all forced to lead. School, work and personal life often do not leave any time to take a breath and reload your batteries. Often, there is not an option to either study or work,

Illmatic album review

Illmatic album review Ervin Sagor Nasir ''NaS'' Jones recorded his first album called Illmatic in 1994. The album was slept on and had lack of sales. Upon its release, the album debuted at number 12 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling 59,000 copies in its first week. However, its initial sales fell below expectations and its five singles called "Halftime", "It Ain't Hard to Tell", "The World Is Yours", "Life's a B***h" and "One Love" failed to achieve significant chart success. There are ten songs on the album. Producers of the album are such legends as DJ Premier, Large Professor, L.E.S., MC Serch, Pete Rock and Q-Tip. I think this is one of the best rap albums of all time. NaS's lyrics are incredible and beats are fantastic

Money makes the world go round

Money makes the world go round Karl Johan Lips Money! the thing we all are working for. For few of us it has came easily by lottery, simple inventions or just having studied and listened to good advise by smart business owners, teachers and parents. Others however have had to struggle to get money because of simple reasons like not having studied in school or college, being lazy, or not doing the job correctly. Its clear that money is as important that living without it is almost impossible. But exactly how important and what is less or more important then money is left for every individual himself to decide. People use their money differently, for example their are celebrities who waste money on 5 different cars and 4 houses just to show they are rich but there are also people like Bill Gates who are very humble and donate huge amount of their money to help people who ca...

Sometimes it is very funny to listen to his jokes during the break. He also has an artistic side. For example, some time ago, when we were practising our play ,,Highschool Musical", Robin played different roles. For all these reasons, I really like him. I wish I could see more of him, as we see each other mostly at school. However, we chat a lot at school and sometimes we are messaging. What I like most about him is that Robin is very humorous. I´m really glad that Robin is a good friend of mine. Allan Andronik 10B

Essee: Can money buy happiness?

Can money buy happiness Since I can remember I have heard people say, that money cannot buy happiness. I generally believe it to be true; the most important things in life, such as friends, family and love can't be bought. However, in today's world we must agree that life without money can be really stressful and hard. If one doesn't have any money, one can't afford to pay rent, buy food, clothes, get medical help if needed or basically do anything. For example, people in developing countries are very poor, they don't have access to pure drinking water or food and they are unable to get proper medical help and that's why in Africa there are always all kinds of diseases spreading.

The Great Fire kokkuvõte

The heat created by the fire was so great that the lead roof on the old St Paul's Cathedral melted. The actual human casualty rate was remarkably small with possibly only 5 people dying in this fire. The wind that had helped the fire spread, turned on itself and drove the flames back into what had already been burned. Therefore, the fire had nothing to ignite and the fire died out. The Great Fire had burned down 84 churches and the old St Paul's. However, it had also destroyed the filthy streets associated the Great Plague. It was now up to the city's authority's to re-build and re-plan the city. This task was given to Sir Christopher Wren.

Stress is a natural part of people’s lives. Negative stress can affect people`s ability to be positive. What are the main sources of stress for young people today? What can they do to cope with it? Millions of people around the world live in stress. In particular young people are more often a subject to stress. I want to talk about the stress that young people have. In general there are two types of stress: negative stress and positive stress. First type is the positive stress. It is very important in our life. Positive stress gives you the energy to throw yourself into something what you want to do very well. For example, approximation for exams. In this situation a student begins to learn diligently all materials that he didn’t learn before. On the other hand, we have negative stress too. This type of makes people nervous and they can’t be positive. Nowadays we have a lot of sources of stress. For instance: problems at s...

The Steam Engine

The Steam Engine By What are they? Steam engines are the first kind of engines to see a widespread use. They were used in the early locomotives, steam boats and factories. In fact they are still used to help run nuclear powerplants. When and by who were they invented and improved? The very first steam engine was built by Thomas Savery in 1698. However, it didn't turn any wheels, instead it pumped water out of coal mines. In 1712 Thomas Newcomen introduced an improved version of Savery's engine. James Watt improved it even further and later came up with an idea on how to use a steam engine to power something with wheels. Alright, but why are they important? Steam engines are veryveryvery important because it was the dominant source of power well into the 20th century. They actually were the moving force behind the Industrial Revolution. So no steam engines = no Industrial Revolution = Middle Ages that last approxima...

The importance of college

What is more, a lot of university courses include practical parts and work experience. Having a previous job experience in the field they have chosen, before they actually enter to the job market, is a huge advantage. Moreover, the more connections students collect during their internships, the more options they will have when they begin job search. On the other hand, there are people who believe that higher education is not necessary in order to get a good job. However, although factories and manufacturing were once at the center of our job market, the trend is shifting to jobs in other sectors that require more specific skills. To sum up, I believe that although the idea of going to university may sound intimidating, it is necessary to educate yourself further. After all, in today's competitive job market, the importance of higher education cannot be denied.

The future seems dark. - 2012

Not the Mayan experts, not the conspiracy theorists, not the sceptics. Recently sceptics have used comments from modern day Mayans themselves that 2012 is a hoax, and that no Mayan calendar points to the end of the world on December 21, 2012. This is somewhat misleading. While Mayans do not believe the world will end on 2012, many do believe that there will be a massive event, which will change the way we experience reality. What that actually is, however, is anyone's guess. There are many Christians who believe the coming of Christ will happen within their lifetime. This idea shouldn't be discounted immediately, but it does not necessarily mean the Jesus we understand in Western culture will come sailing down from the sky. If we consider that Jesus was a manifestation of God, it's possible that Christ may return embodied in another form. It's possible that all the differing theories about 2012 may all be about the same event,

John Constable

1776-1837 Salisbury Cathedral from the Meadows Constable is famous for his landscapes, which are mostly of the Suffolk countryside, where he was born and lived. He made many open-air sketches, using these as a basis for his large exhibition paintings, which were worked up in the studio. His pictures are extremely popular today, but they were not particularly well received in England during his lifetime. He did, however, have considerable success in Paris. Sailsbury Cathedral from the Meadows was painted by John Consatble in 1831, one year after his wife's death. He later added nine lines from ,,The Seasons" by 18th Century poet James Thomson that reveal the painting's meaning: That the rainbow is a symbol of hope after a storm that follows on the death of the young Amelia in the arms of her lover Celadon. I like the name of the painting Sailsbury Cathedral from the Meadows, because there

Essey: Capital Punishment

Capital Punishment The adherents of the death penalty refer to public safety. Still, even though violent criminals are locked away from the society forever, there is also another possibility for the inmate to escape the full punishment. However proving whether one is guilty or not is a very complicated and time-consuming process. From an ethical perspective, the death penalty is, undoubtedly, a violation of human rights. Most death penalty critics charge that it is particularly barbaric when applied to mentally retarded people and juvenile delinquents. In this case, capital punishment looks like senseless cruelty. A number of states had already passed legislation adopted by the Supreme

The industrial revolution

The industrial revolution The Industrial Revolution, which took place from the 18th to 19th centuries, was a period during which predominantly agrarian, rural societies in Europe and America became industrial and urban. By mid-century, many people worked for small businesses or on farms, laboring in fields that would yield barely enough food to feed the family. New inventions and technology began to change that, however. Larger factories opened and produced new farm equipment, such as the steel plow and the tractor, which allowed farmers to cultivate bigger fields and produce more food that cost much less. Developments in the iron industry also played a central role in the Industrial Revolution. In the early 18th century, Englishman Abraham Darby (1678-1717) discovered a cheaper, easier method to produce cast iron, using a coke-fueled (as opposed to charcoal-fired) furnace

Some teachers gives a time when you need to be ready. This would mean that we can´t just lay down and relax all day. I think they give enough time and student should get ready with their work. When there is no time I can do my work in the morning, in afternoon or in the evening. With that I learn planning and I am more independent. I think one thing you need to have and that is motivation. For example, you sit every day

The endangered Saimaa Ringed Seal, one of only three lake seal species in the world, exists only in the Saimaa lake system of southeastern Finland, down to only 300 seals today. It has become the emblem of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation. Due to hunting and persecution in history, many animals such as the Golden Eagle, Brown Bear and Eurasian Lynx all experienced significant declines in population. However, their numbers have increased again in the 2000s, mainly as a result of careful conservation and the establishment of vast national parks. Song festival ground

Conclusion The history of the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds is closely connected with the Song Festivals. No special stage was built for the performers in the first song festivals. The first Song Stage was building in in 1923, witch was designed by Karl Burman. The first Song Stage hold 12 000 singers. The Song Stage for 15 000 singers was built in 1960. Today the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds are owned by the City of Tallinn. However, the Song Festival Grounds are primarily recognised as a place of song festivals, festivals, concerts, exhibitions and other cultural and sports events. One of the most original buildings on the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds is the 42 meters high Light Tower, constructed at the same time as the Song Stage in 1960. seemingly calm yet intense altercation concerning Bella and both their intentions to fight for her. Bella never says another word to Jacob, refusing to even return his smiles or acknowledge his well-wishes for her injured hand. As they arrive at the Cullen home, Edward pulls around to the garage where Bella sees Rosalie and Emmett working on the Jeep. Emmett notices Bella's hand and asks her about it, bursting into laughter when she admits to punching a werewolf in the face. Rosalie, however, brings his laughter to an abrupt halt when she mentions merely that "Jasper's going to win the bet." When Bella asks about the comment, Edward grudgingly explains that Jasper and Emmett are betting on how well Bella will be able to handle her first year as a vampire, and on how many people she will lose control over and kill. Edward also affirms that Jasper is betting high, since it would make Jasper feel better about his own struggles with sticking to the Cullen's diet.

How can we reduce air pollution levels in our cities?

How can we reduce air pollution levels in our cities? Are our cities clean and fresh enough? Unfortunately people don't see that actually cities aren't clean enough. The Aair pollution is growing every day, but how can WE change it? Firstly, we should watch out for the garbage we produce. Many things that are thrown away can be recycled, but some of the people aren't aware of that. They throw things away which may be dangerous for nature. Another solution is to use more buses and bicycles. Every family member doesn't need his/her own car. When you move more in fresh air, you will feel better yourself, your health will be better and you will reduce air pollution levels. Finally, big-factory owners should pay attention where they build on their factories. I think that it is very important that they don't build them in the middle of cities. The pollution twhat comes from the factories is bigdrastic. In conclusion, there are man...

Nuclear Power: A Burden or a Blessing? Today, when the pollution of Earth is an important matter, people are trying to find economic solutions to produce power. This is where the necessity of nuclear power plants comes in question. Nuclear power plants are a cheap way to generate electricity but it also brings a lot of pollution that is much more radioactive and toxic than, for example, coal waste. But if we are looking at the facts, burning coal pollutes the Earth much more than nuclear power plants because more waste is generated. CO2, which is released from burning coal, is the main cause of global warming. Nuclear waste is collected and hidden in rocks or under ground, where it won't face the environment. However we shouldn't depend on nuclear energy as Uranium reserves are ending, especially when the world population is increasing and so is the demand for energy. There is Uranium in seawater, but gettin...

homogeneity; as a result, there was a great deal of variation in local practices of Celtic religion (although certain motifs, for example the god Lugh, appear to have diffused throughout the Celtic world). Inscriptions to more than three hundred deities, often equated with their Roman counterparts, have survived, but of these most appear to have been genii locorum, local or tribal gods, and few were widely worshipped. However, from what has survived of Celtic mythology, it is possible to discern commonalities which hint at a more unified pantheon than is often given credit. The nature and functions of these ancient gods can be deduced from their names, the location of their inscriptions, their iconography, the Roman gods they are equated with, and similar figures from later bodies of Celtic mythology.

Never again have I experienced such a mixture of strange feelings. The anxiety of being in school along with the excitement of making new friends- all these made my first day at school most memorable and I long for the innocence and fun that was common among me and my friends.

Film review Chocolat

As it becomes clear that villagers are being influenced by Vianne, he quickly sees her as danger. Under Vianne’s control an old woman starts a new life, a wife finds courage to leave her mean husband, children rebel against authority and Reynaud’s community is danger of falling apart. Soon is Easter and Vianne and Reynaud start preparing: Vianne for a chocolate festival, Reynaud for winning back hearts of the villagers. At first, I thought this film is an uninteresting old film. However, I found out that it is really thrilling and fascinating. I enjoyed that it was slow-moving but had many conflicts. The director also brought a romantic side to the film, which made it more interesting.

The Advantages and Disadvanatges of Having a Part Time Job

The Advantages and Disadvanatges of Having a Part-Time Job During Studies. Many students work while attending school for many different reasons. It can be difficult to balance work and school, but it can certainly be done. Actually, there are many advantages such as earning money,a new experience and development of the organization skills. However, you should take into account some disadvantages, for instance, the lack of time and stress. Generally speaking, students can benefit a lot from part-time jobs. The first advantage is that students can earn money. Earning money by themselves is good way to learn how to be independent. Students don't have to ask money from the parents and they can see that earning money is not so easy. Second advantage is that students can acquire more experiences and polish their skills when

Nothing can be done to prevent crime

perfect society: because we are still plain humans. But we can improve on an environment by providing a higher level of education and security. In doing so, there will be a decrease in the attempts of crimes, since a higher level of social development was properly provided. Our world is well known by having a high level of poverty and all sorts of crimes. This is a consequence of bad governments that hav not provided the least welfare throughout the centuries. So, i agree with that statement. However, in my opinion our goverment has been doing some progress regarding crime prevention and social development. In its turn, even in a decent society no lacking primary needs there will be another kind of crimes, apparently harmless, such as: political corruption, bribery, money laundering, extortion, etc. The environment can change, but the mindset is still the same with tendency to ambition, greed and selfishness

The advantages and disadvantages of an internet.

There are lots of inventions being made to spare our time and make our lives easier. The invention I am going to talk about is an internet, which I find is one of the most important contraptions. However, the opinions about the computer network are very opposed. The first advantage is that internet is very easy and quick to use. Whereas uploading news to the computer network is very fast, is the internet better than TV shows or radio. Secondly is an internet the biggest infomation resource, where you can find almost anything you need. The third point is wide opportunity of communicating with other people. For instance you may use different programs such as skype or MSN Messenger.

Animal Experimentation

Animal Experimentation Based on the Constitution of Estionia, we are all born with equal rights. However, mankind denys that animals share these rights. Animals are just as entitled to the rights of living, avoiding pain as humans are. Nonetheless, we still abuse them, often even without a second thought. Despite the wide use of animal testing, the research gained from it is not helpful to mankind. The chemicals and medicines tested on animals reacts differently on every species. That is why results gained from animal testing could be incorrect and misleading. In many

How has the nature of fame changed?

the Golden Age of Hollywood. Back in the day, celebrities were presented as incomparably glamorous, flawless beings, closer to gods than humans. Fame was controlled not by the famous and certainly not by the audience, but by the owners of the media. The lives of the rich and the famous used to be mysterious and even inexplicable. It was so foreign and artificial a construct that we thought that fame made you special. The rise of reality TV, however, was a major step in the changing nature of celebrity. “Normal people” became stars overnight. The dominance of smartphones and social media has meant that the public records everything: nervous breakdowns, breakups and displays of erratic behavior, and popular celebrities seem to have become beloved for being like us – or at least more photogenic versions of us. These days, celebrity at the most basic level, just simply means “being known” among a group of people and

"Wild animals in danger". Ettekanne inglis keeles.

Because of this (and pollution, too) several species are dying all over the world. In addition , if one animal, bird or insect disappears, all the others suffer too. And all living beings belong to the circle of life. And when one link is missing, the circle of life can´t function normally. A further problem is hunting. Man has always been a hunter. He still is. But many modern hunters don't just kill for food - they kill for profit. And that´s wrong ! There are, however some solutions. We should make more laws, that protect the animals in danger. Open more national parks, building fewer new roads, planting more new forests and cutting pollution. These are things, that everyone can help with, if they wanted to. In conclusion, it can be said that although human activities damage and pollute the environment of wild animals, their life in Estonia is not necessarily inevitable. In fact, there are several places in

Why do people have pets?

, Egyptians were domesticating wildcats from Africa. They considered cats to be godesses pets. That ranked them above humans, making them the first to be saved if a house caught fire, before the people. As I see it, having a pet at home is a good thing to do. Nevertheless, often having a pet means having a lot of tasks because you have to take care of them very well. Thus, you will wake up in the early morning to take them out for a walk, or to calm them down when they are afraid of something. However, if you love them, there will be no problems. A lot of people keep a pet for these reasons, and they are surely doing well. Pets are humans' best friend, and thus will be forever.
