Others, who don,t need to go downstairs for shower or bathroom. We also have a restaurant which is led by our teachers and where the students of such work and cook. Beside that, we also have 2 canteens, where every student is given 20 kroons per day for lunch. My day starts off at 8.30, normally we have an 1.5 hour lesson painting, ceramics or so. After that we often have a lunch break which is sometimes eaven up to 1hour. After the lunch break we go to a few more lessons. My day ends up at about 16.00-17.00. Subsequently, the Astronomer Royal, Sir George Airy, was appointed as referee for the new clock and produced a specification in 1846. A key requirement of the specification was that the clock was to strike the first blow of each hour correct to one second in time. Tenders were invited and were received from three makers, Dent, Vulliamy and Whitehurst. Dent was Airy' s favourite and soon he had to make the clock himself. In 1852 Dent was awarded the contract. There were many troubles during building the tower.
