E.Hemingway

Jake and Brett make an appointment to meet the next day, and Jake leaves to return home for the night. Jake arrives at home, takes his mail from the concierge, and goes to his room. When he gets into bed, he begins to think about his wound. He received it while flying a mission on a "joke front" in Italy. Other people make more of a fuss out of it than he does. He remembers a colonel who visited him in the hospital and said that Jake had "given more than his life." He supposes he would never have had any trouble if he had never met Brett. He begins to cry before drifting off to sleep. After four in the morning, Brett wakes him up by making a drunken scene trying to get past the concierge. The count is waiting outside in his car. Jake lets her up to his room, and Brett reports that the count offered her ten thousand dollars to go to Biarritz, on...

My favorite book

It is written by Australian writer Alan Marshall. It is Alan Marshall`s autobiography. He talks about himself and about his life.I think that probably I like this book so much, because it is written of real persons life. The book began with birth of Alan and ended, when his family had to move. In the very beginnig of the book Alan gets paralysed and after that his muscles started to shrink and because of that his legs were crooked. Doctor`s only idea was that they should press Alan`s legs straight. It was hard work to his mother, because she had to do this and try to heal his son. It is very tragic, but it is the truth. In the middle of the book Alan has to go to the hospital, where he is surrounded by adult men. They admired Alan`s strength and courage to fight for his life. Alan always had the view that life does not...

Should advertisements promoting alcohol be banned?

Furthermore, advertisements promoting alcohol show that drinking alcohol makes people cooler and parties better. In these advertisements all the people are smiling, nobody is angry and everybody feels at ease. But in real life these parties are not so good, some people, who are really drunk, start to fight with other ones. Also, it is not unusual for some people to end their party in hospital . On the other hand, there are lots of people who drink alcoholic drinks only when they are eating. They do not want to get drunk and they drink in small amounts. In this case, advertisements have not such a great influence on them. Maybe they want to try out other brands, for instance. In conclusion, I feel that advertisements promoting alcohol should be banned. There are alcoholic drinks in almost every shop and that is enough. Why do we have to...

For example, "the sun", "the moon". Some institutional buildings don't have an article if you visit them for the reason these buildings exist. But if you go to the building for another reason, you must use 'the'. "Her husband is in prison." (He's a prisoner.) "She goes to the prison to see him once a month." "My son is in school." (He's a student.) "I'm going to the school to see the head master. "She's in hospital at the moment." (She's ill.) "Her husband goes to the hospital to see her every afternoon." But we say "a cold" and "a headache". Jobs use 'a'. "I'm a teacher." Countries We don't use 'a' if the country is singular. "He lives in England." One story

I'll find a work! Or..." "Lady Mary, calm down please!" "I can't!" cried the girl and hugged Laurel, "She is my little sister... " "I understand, young lady, since my own daughter is seriously ill at the moment." "Oh!" sighed Mary and stopped crying, "I'm sorry..." The man shook his head and said, "It's alright, and I understand how it feels. Now, this young miss here must be taken to the hospital and you, my dear, must go with her." "But I can't! Our parents passed away when Elisa was still a baby and uncle, who's been raising us can't even cook! I mustn't leave my little sister alone!" The doctor thought for a moment and then said, "I know! I have a little cottage in Mellow, a village by the river Ray. Maybe it's possible to take Elisa with me! I'm going there myself with Theresa tomorrow. She could really use some fresh air at the moment. So what you think, lady Mary?"...

Eclipse,Chapter Fifteen – Wager, kokkuvõte

No matter how many times Bella asserts that she can't and doesn't want to be happy without Edward, Jacob relentlessly urges her to "just think about it." Bella is surprised, and annoyed, when she realizes Jacob is taking her to Charlie's house instead of to Edward's, where she'd hoped to have Carlisle look at her hand. Jacob offers to drive her to the hospital , but she refuses. Once at the Swan home, Bella tells Jacob to go home. He of course follows her inside anyway, where Charlie asks what the fuss is about. Jacob explains without reservation. Charlie responds only with pleasure over Jacob's actions. This irritates Bella. She silently gets herself some ice for her hand, and dials Edward on the phone. Bella tells Edward what happened. Edward speeds over to the Swan home at once, while Charlie worries that perhaps Jacob should leave beforehand...

Joseph Lister Sotimaal, umbes 20 aastat peale Sem...

The security staff got her out and wanted to take her to the hospital , but Petra wanted to take part in the qualifications. Petra Majdic has been released from the hospital. The final diagnos is six broken ribs and a punctured lung. Majdic thinks she punctured the lung in the sprint finals because she felt something go bad at that point.
