From a religious and historical point of view, it can be said that travelling can be really helpful if it comes to gaining knowledge about the history of the country where a person is staying at. Paradise at the Adriatic Sea I have visited some interesting places around the world. The best place I have ever been to is Dubrovnik, located in the south of the Croatia. I chose to write about Tartu, because with its beautiful green parks and spectacular culture, it's the perfect holiday destination. There are many really beautiful buildings that have been restored after World War II. Most of them are in the heart of the city. There's also a place called the Dome Hill. It's a hill where you can see various monuments and there are also the ruins of the Dome Church. Currently, the building is occupied by a history museum and the visitors can use an observation platform on the roof and enjoy a picturesque view of the city. By the Dome Hill there's the main building of the University of Tartu. It's very big and beautiful. There are several museums, but also some theatres and cinemas. Tartu has many cafés in the centre of the city, for example café Pierre. With its historical atmosphere, it's a really great place for spending a quiet and relaxing evening.

The First Years of the School: Reval Gymnasium In the beginning the school was upheld by the city of Tallinn and it’s knighthood. The school was meant for the sons of the noblemen and citizens. There were 4 professors and 2 colleagues. Students studied reading, writing, maths, theology, music, Latin, Greek, Hebrew, law, poetry, speech, geography, history and philosophy. Older students studied in Latin. Music was very important. There were four classes: quarta, tertia, secunda and prima, prima being the last and quarta the lowest grade. The head of school was a rector. For the first 15 years the rector was Heinrich Vulpius whose Gymnasium Laws (show the picture) were used for more than a century. The set of laws influenced the life of the students a lot. They designated how the students were supposed to act in the school and in their free time

First of all, there aren’t too many people who do sports, i’d say too less. Most people I know enjoy staying indoors. I think everyone should take part in sports in order to have healthy body and a healthy mind. Secondly, playing computer games is rather good than bad. Games help people relax and they can teach us a lot about history or geography as well. Opponents say that people are wasting time on games and sports. Firstly, they argue that sports can be injurious. For example, you broke your leg while playing football. They also say that computer games are addictive and make people aggressive. However, in my opinion, sports and games is very good way to spend your free time. In conclusion, games and sports are not as bad and dangerous as some people say, it is all about the person’s setup and mentality

On the other hand, learning different things like history and bilogy expand people's knowledge greatly. With learning so many different things one's brain and memory develops and that makes a person intelligent. In my opinion, students have to learn different subjects, even those that they find boring and let themselves be after graduating highly educated and smart participant of society.

In my opinion Estonians are quite serious, we work hard and we're well-educated. We love to travel and a lot of people have a job or go to school somewhere outside Estonia. Ernest Hemingway once said that at least one Estonian can be found in every part of the world. Many of us have emigrated to the US, Canada or Australia. Some of them came back after the restauration of the independence in 1991. Estonia is a quite young country with painful history but I think we've been strong and kept our heads up. We may have a little country but it doesn't mean that the people are small too. The Estonians are more self-confident than you can ever imagine. We have many talented people, especially athletes like Markko Märtin, Marko Asmer, Kaia Kanepi, Andrus Veerpalu and Mart Poom. We love sports and working out is a part of our lives, that's why you don't see almost any overweight people in the streets.

Tartu Hanseatic Days Tartu Hanseatic Days are celebrated every year from 17th to 19th July. For three days the Old Town of Tartu is filled with Hanseatic merchants and different workshops. People dress up in different medieval clothes and have a great time. The Hanseatic days are held so people could test their skills, learn more about their history and just have fun.
