Komad inglise keeles

· If you leave out the clause, phrase, or word, does the sentence still make sense? · Does the clause, phrase, or word interrupt the flow of words in the original sentence? · If you move the element to a different position in the sentence, does the sentence still make sense? If you answer "yes" to one or more of these questions, then the element in question is nonessential and should be set off with commas. Here are some example sentences with nonessential elements: Clause: That Tuesday, which happens to be my birthday, is the only day when I am available to meet. Phrase: This restaurant has an exciting atmosphere. The food, on the other hand, is rather bland. Word: I appreciate your hard work. In this case, however, you seem to have over-exerted yourself. 4. Do not use commas to set off essential elements of the sentence, such as clauses beginning with that (relative clauses)

My Town

My Town I live in Tallinn. It's the capital and main seaport of Estonia. Tallinn is a very beautiful city that lies on the Baltic Sea. It covers 158 square kilometres. The people here are mostly engaged in industry- mainly the food industry (23%), trade (16%) and transport and communication (14%). History. Tallinn has a great history. It was first marked on a map of the world by the Arab geographer al-Idrisi in 1154, its name then being Kolyvan. In the 13 th- century chronicle of Henricus de Lettis the town was called Lyndanise. Then it was called Reval for some time and finally Estonians started to call the town Tallinn from

New Guinea (inglise keeles)

Introduction If you were asked to show on a world map the regions with the most biodiversity, your finger would probably end up pointing at the Amazon, the Congo Basin or the island of Borneo. But I chose New Guinea, an island that represents no more than 1% of the world's landmass, an array of extraordinary animals and plants have also flourished, such as tree kangaroos and birds of paradise. Close to 10% of the world's vertebrates are concentrated here, while 7% of the world's higher (vascular) plants grow on the island's productive soils. 3 Geography Papua New Guinea consists of over 600 islands and lies in the middle of the long chain of islands stretching from mainland South-East Asia. The mainland and larger islands are mountainous and rugged, divided by large fertile upland valleys. Fast- flowing rivers from the highlands descend to the coastal plains. A line of active

Sisters

" "So? The true heroes face 20!" "Alright then...ready?" "Sure!" They hugged and jumped it was too dark to see where, but they jumped. Somehow the ground felt softer to land on than the twins had thought. Then a scream broke into the night. Creasha knew this wasn't Suzan since they were still hugging, no, it was another female whom voice was very familiar. Suzan was the first one to recognize it. "Mother..."she whispered and a soundless tear crossed her cheek. Creasha told her to wait here, but sister hold to her too strongly to let go now. "Okay, come with me then, but be quiet! You're not the only one who feels like crying!" Suzan nodded and together they moved quickly forwards. Soon they reached the main entrance. The door was open, but no one seemed to be around. "What now? Shall we enter or run away?" "They got our parents...and probably Danny too..." "But Su, they didn't get us, remember?" "Then we must do them as much harm as we can, they'll catch us sooner or later!"

Advantages and disadvantages of advertising

Advantages and disadvantages of advertising Nowdays advertising is a huge part of our everyday life. We probably could not even imagine a life without commercials on TV, big posters and neon screens on streets and advertisments in newspapers and magazines. But like everything else in this world, advertising also has it is advantages and disadvantages. Starting with advantages the biggest plus is probably that advertising can inform people about different products and services, their utilities, cost and other requirement. Also, advertisements about non-commercial issues like AIDS can help in educating people and notifying possible problem. Finally, one big advantage is providing employment. Not only advertising itself needs many workers, but companies who are increasing their sales volume of goods mostly expand themselves and that may give job to thousands of people. Before I go to sleep by S.J Watson

Book review I am reading a book called ,,Before I go to sleep" by S.J Watson. This book has 384 pages and I have read 50 of them. The book is about Christine, who loses her memory when she goes to sleep and has to start afresh every time she wakes up. It's quite hard seeing it through her own eyes as each day she wakes up and can't figure out where she is. Everything has to be explained to her by a man who tries to persuade her that he's her husband. She begins to keep a journal, writing down what happens to her each day as recommended by her doctor who calls her each day to remind her of her journal and where it's hidden. Each day she reads what's previously written in her journal, and is extremely confused as she can never remember the previous entries. I think that in the end of the book Christine will get her memory back, and she will realize that her husbend Ben is bad guy. I hope that they will devorce and Christine will find some...

The Crucial Problems of the World

The Crucial Problems of the World There are many problems in the world right at this time. One of the biggest and maybe the one which people talk about the most is the waste and recycling problem. As we all know, humankind is producing more waist than we can handle, reproduce and recycle. Even in here, Estonia, people are thinking of building a nuclear power station, because fossil fuel is soon depleted. The other problem, a little bit connected to the first one, is the greenhouse effect. The light from the Sun reaches us and after that the light reflexes from the Earth's surface back to the space, but thanks to the pollution, it absorbs and reflexes back to us again, causing global warming. The third problem is the fastly growing population. There are now more than 7

Challanges of the 21st century

The second aspect is economic crisis. This problem comprises all the world not only Estonia. Again, I get back to Greece. Many countrys give money to help them, but still they are in the red. It is example that we have to stop living over our abilitys, we can not buy more thing than we have money but this is the way how many of us live. For the above mentioned reasons I can say that we emigrate because we want a better life and here, in Estonia, for most of people it means living over abilitys, but actually we should value money, what we have this is a challenge of the 21st century.

Arutlus

Mostly black people live in poor South countries, wich can't give a good education to their people. There aren't any racism in Estonia with skin color. People don't discriminate black people. But there is racism between russians and estonians. Russia has declared war many times on Estonia and has ruled Estonia for many centuries. And now, when Estonia is an independent country, estonians don't like that there are so many russians living here. Big part of russians can't speak estonian language properly, so that makes things worse. I think that if estonian russians would learn estonian language and speak it properly, then estonians would accept them. Russians children are in estonian schools, where they learn to speak estonian properly. So this problem will be better in about 50 years.

Its better to have any religion then to be atheist

its better to have any religion then to be atheist. We live in the 21th century where democracy and freedom of different kinds dominate in most parts of the world. Freedom of worship is not an exception, therefore people can believe or not believe in anything they want. According to this many people decided not to have any religion at all and called themselves ,,atheists". These people believe in their own physical and moral forces only, but now and here i will try to persuade the reader that having a God or some deity is better than to be godless. First reason, why it is better to be a religous person than atheist, is your spiritual and mental safety because if you belive in God , you will always have someone to rely on even in the worst situations, and you will never give up as you would probably do, if you stayed against the misery alone, on your own. Secondly, i would like to point out that with having a God to believe in your everyday life

Internet chatrooms do not serve a useful purpose, essay

friends-relationship with under- aged girl is against the law. Parents and schools should be teaching more about Internet safety nowadays to help kids understand about chatroom dangers. In my opinion second important danger is cheating money from innocent people behind their back. Internet chatrooms gain money by adding any kind of advertisements to their application. Many of those advertisements have text for example ,,You won 1 million'' or ,,Write here your phone number and get new Mobile Phone''. But if people click there and insert all the numbers and addresses what are needed there, then for example your phone bill is growing every month and you don't know where it is going and you can't stop services like these. I think if people want to use Internet they should learn about Internet dangers and be aware on any kind of cheat advertisements and schools should speak more about Internet chatrooms.

How can the issue of intolerance be addressed by the government?

enough about it. Government is also responsible for enforcing laws, and protecting people. Government should find a solution for every small problem. Small problems get quickly big, fear and intolerance in people spreads if nothing is done about it. So yes, small problems matter and need to be taken care of. In conclusion, one thing is to prevent problems from growing bigger and finnaly global, enforcing the human rights laws. The seconf really important aspect here is teaching children about tolerance and give them knowledge about world at an early age. It is a long and difficult process, which should be addressed by the government with a greater importance.

REPORT

REPORT To: local authorities From: a member of the Nature Club Subject: environmental situation at Poku Date: 22 February 2012 As a member on the Nature Club I have decided to write a report describing the environmental situation and make some recommendations based of the opinion poll. The situation at Poku is satisfying. Water and noise pollution is low because there are no cities around here. Wildlife is good and getting better because we have beautiful forests near Poku which gives good living and development places for wild animals. Paper and glass recycling is well organized. We have paper and glass containers and workers are cleaning them daily basis. Due to the fact that overall life in Poku is good we still have some problematic things to consider. Nowadays government has started to cut trees near Poku. This affects development of

Ristna Sea Store

Ristna Sea Store Ristna Sea Store (in Estonian called Mere Kaubamaja) is an exhibition which was founded in 2009. It's located in Ristna. Ristna Sea Store introduces the topic of marine debris in the Baltic Sea. This exhibition includes all items which are found from the coast of Hiiumaa. All these products have came from the polluted Baltic Sea. This is where it's located. We went there with 3 of us. We took pictures and collected some information about marine debris in the Baltic Sea aswell. This is how the museum looks like from the outside. Here are our students in front of the Ristna Sea Store sign. The most common components of marine debris in the Baltic Sea are food waste and packages. 31-43% of marine debris are plastic bottles and even 50-63% of marine debris is plastic. Marine debris is harmful for everyone. It causes garbage ingestion and entanglement for marine animals. For marine life it causes accumulation and sprea...

Willie Nelson

Väätsa Põhikool 2014 Elulugu Willie Nelson( pärisnimega William Hugh Nelson on sündinud 30. Aprillil 1933 Abottis Texase osariigis) on USA outlaw kantrilaulja ja laulukirjutaja. Muusikast Willie Nelson on ameerika kantrimuusika laulja ja sõnadekirjutaja. Peale eduka karjääri muusikuna on Willie näidelnud 30 filmis ja olnud mitmetele raamatutele kaasautoriks. ´´To All The Girls´´ on tehtud koos mitmete tuntud naislauljatega. Esmasena mainiks kohe ära ´´From Here To the Moon and Back´´ Dolly Parton`ga koos, mis sobituks ideaalselt pulma keskkonda. Eriti meeldis mulle Nelson´i koostöö Norah Jones´ga, sest viimase madal sume hääl sobitub kantri stiili ja vanameistriga nüanssidega. Kaverdatud on erinevaid artiste, Bill Withers´ga soul´i maiguga eesotsas. Nüüd siis kaasates selliseid nimesid nagu: Loretta Lynn, Miranda Lambert, Sheryl Crow, Rosanne Cashand ja Carrie Underwood on kantristaar tagasi maailma vallutamas

Northanger Abbey

Henry's older brother, captain Frederick Tilney arrived in Bath. Isabella immediately noticed the captain and despite her engagement with James, started flirting with him. Catherine soon noticed something weird going on between Isabella and the captain. She spoke to Henry Tilney on the subject, regretting his brother's evident partiality for Miss Thrope, and entreating him to make known her prior engagement. "He does know it," was Henry's answer. "Does he? then why does he stay here? Why do not you persuade him to go away?" "Persuasion is not at command; but pardon me, if I cannot even endeavour to persuade him. I have myself told him that Miss Thrope is engaged. He knows what he is about, and must be his own master." So Henry refused to talk to his brother because he knew that Isabella was as guilty as him. Soon, Catherine left with the Tilney's for Northanger Abbey. She imagined the abbey to resemble the haunted ruins of the Gothic novels she loved but Northanger Abbey

A letter and an essay

On 24 April, I purchased a Canon digital SLR camera from a duty-free shop at Freetown Airport on my way from Freetown to Wondercity. The camera cost $599, and I paid for it by credit card. When I arrived at my hotel in Wondercity almost 24 hours later, I discovered that the box which contained the camera did not include the battery, and the space in the box for the charger was empty. I am now in Wondercity, and I am not returning to Freetown, so I need to get the missing parts here. I would be grateful if you could arrange for the parts to be sent to me. I attach a copy of the receipt for your information. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, Introduction This report looks at the dietary habits of twenty students in their final year at Freedonian Secondary School. The report is based on the students' responses to the questionnaire administered by the school's doctor. Meals The survey have revealed that the students do not have enough meals

Apologies

or do something that was said (,,Sorry what was that?") or for( ,,exuse me") when they want to get someone's attention(,,Sorry, have you got the time?") Almost 20% of a British person's apologies are made to strangers, only 8% are made to friends and 14% to work collagues. Sociologists have tried to explain these seemingly unnessesary apologies but unfortunately there is no space here to go into their theories in any depth. Most people interviewed for the survey also felt that ,,sorry" is too often used in a flippant way as an attempt to reduce, another person's displeasure, but without any intention of addressing the source of the problem. One possible conclusion, therefore,is that while the quantity of apologies heard in Britain could be reduced, the degree of sincerity behind them needs to be increased.

Materjal plakati tegemiseks Alexander Graham Bellist

Telefoni leiutamine Telefoni leiutas Alexander Graham Bell 7. Märtsil 1876 koos oma assistendi Thomas A. Watsoniga. Watson, come here, i want to see you!" ehk siis eesti keelde tõlgituna: ,,Mr.

INGLISE KEEL, BEING SUCCESSFUL

It is a well-known fact that most people will say they want to be successful in numerous, but success is many things to many people. Why is it difficult to define? What means real success to you? When we talk about success very often we think about money. Perhaps it happens because money pays a big role in our life. In other words, we can say if someone has money this person is successful. For some people the word success means being famous, for others it means being great at some specifc career. Yet for other people the word success means all together: having money, being good at one's professional life, personal life, romantic life, health life and so on. It is a very difficult task to start looking for a definition of success, because in fact it can have many different meanings. Puting it in another way; some people can see themselves doing great at some time of their life. Could every one else accept the fact those people had achi...

The California Floristic Province hotspot

high levels of plant endemism characteristic of these regions. The hotspot is home to the giant sequoia, the planet's largest living organism and its taller but less massive relative, the coastal redwood. This region also holds a number of threatened endemic species such as the giant kangaroo rat and the desert slender salamander, and some of the last individuals of the Critically Endangered California condor can still be found here. In fact, it is the largest avian breeding ground in the United States. Wilderness destruction caused by commercial farming is a major threat for the region as the California Floristic Province generates half of all the agricultural products used by U.S. consumers. The hotspot is also heavily threatened by the expansion of urban areas, pollution, and road construction. The California Floristic Province hotspot extend over 293.800 square kilometers. 108

St Paul's Cathedral

· The current Cathedral  the fourth to occupy this site  was designed by the court architect Sir Christopher Wren and built between 1675 and 1710 after it's predecessor was destroyed in the Great Fire of London. · It's architectural and artistic importance reflect the determination of the five monarchs who oversaw its building that London's leading church should be as beautiful and imposing as their private palaces. · Since the first service was held here in 1697, Wren's masterpiece has been where people and events of overwhelming importance to the country have been celebrated, mourned and commemorated. Important services have included the funerals of Lord Nelson, the Duke of Wellington and Sir Winston Churchill; Jubilee celebrations for Queen Victoria;

My home town of Valga

My home town of Valga Guide to Valga town ancient and modern Valga is the southern-most town in Estonia and despite its small size, the town straddles two countries. So it has two languages, two currencies and two cultures. Valga also has a rich history and a versatile cultural scene. Valga town is a pearl waiting to be discovered. In the south, Estonia shares a border with Latvia and here Valga town is split in half, the northern side, "Valga", belongs to Estonia and "Valka", on the southern side, belongs to Latvia. For years, this created a complicated situation where members of one family, even living on the same street, may have had different citizenships and had to go through customs and border guards in order to visit each other. Fortunately, after both countries joined the Schengen zone, border points were removed and Valga-Valka is fast overcoming the separation issues

The themes dealt with in a book are simply not relevant.

from even earlier. Those books are mainly discussing love, wars and relations having one but those books don't talk about everything. They have their confines and mainly concentrate on descriptions and less on the story. But young people want their own picture from the book, they don't need every detail described. When we think more about the themes disussed in obligatory books, then they are also hold in check. Here is the second problem, youngsters can't relate to those topics. For example, they are only describing a feeling, like love, but don't give a real situation, so that the reader can feel as a part of the story. A princess story isn't a real one. So I don't think that the themes discussed in obligatiry books are irrelevant. But what about books of this centuary? They describe also every detail but from a real aspect. They don't have fairytails, because that doesen't sell. And maybe it is right

English letter to a penfriend, B2

Dear Chicken, Thank you for your letter! I’m sorry that you feel that way. Just got your letter today, so I apologise for any delay. I want to tell you that I’m here for you, and I will help you through this. While reading your letter, I came up with a few ideas that might help you. First of all, I want to tell you that you can always write me about these troublesome problems. I’m always more than happy to help you in anyway I can. It's also refreshing to see how you’re doing. It relieves me from the pressure that my school has placed on me. As I mentioned before, I came up with a couple of ideas on how to improve your school and home life.
