About Tallinn

-The Old Town In medieval age Tallinn was called Reval and it was as big as the Tallinns Old Town is now. Uniqueness of Tallinn is that it is one of very few European cities, where the historical lay-out is kept in it's original form , and has a lot of monuments of that time. Thanks to that in 1997 Old Tallinn has been included in the list of a world heritage of UNESCO. -The Raekoja Square The Raekoja Square is used for senturies like market and fair square, here took place many festivals, and criminals were executed. In summer on Raekoja Square many open air conserts and fairs of handicraftsmen were arranged, at the same time old traditions are remembered, took place many different party parades, knight tournaments and shooting competitions. In winter Christmas tree is placed and christmas fair is spent -Defensive Towers Tallinns Town Wall, reinforced with defensive towers, is one of the strongest defensive

Which country you would like to visit?

Given opportunity, which country would you like to visit: England, Australia, or the United States of America? I have always though of my country as a huge ,,multicultural city". We have so many different cultures from different places put into a little place all together that I could almost say we are a huge city not a country. I would not leave here, but if I had an opportunity to choose which country I would like to visit, I definitely would choose Australia. But why Australia? Australia is located in the Pacific ocean and it's sixth country in the world for it's size. This country doesn't have an official language, but it's national language is English. Australia has much lakes and rivers and climate is dampish and warm.

JOB INTERVIEW

was impressed. Once I had the interview appointment, I talked with friends and acquaintances in the industry. Why do you want this job? I've been very careful about the companies where I have applied. When I saw the ad for this position, I knew I found what I was looking for. Along with my flexibility and organizational skills, makes me a perfect match for this position. I see some challenges ahead of me here, and that's what I thrive on. I have what you need, and you have what I want. What is your greatest weakness? In a sense of urgency to get projects completed i tend to want to triple-check every detail in a spreadsheet What are you looking for in your next job? Tell me, Mr. Ojapõld, what is a typical career path at tekstiabi.ee for someone with my skills and experience? What type of work environment do you prefer? I can be flexible when it comes to my work environment

How to survive in Estonia. Guide for foreigner

Each is based on our personal experience and what he sees around him. Opinions differ, but is confident that most will converge in one- it is not easy to live in Estonia and you cannot live only by subsidy. You've got to be able to adapt and be competitive, in other words, "must be able to Survive." So how to adapt and survive in Estonia? Of course many things depends on the mood of the original. Immediately after the moving in other country, happen meeting expectations and reality-and here problems begin, because it is naive to think that they coincide. Therefore, all the same it is necessary above all else at home to try to explore the culture, mentality and peculiarities of the country. You must have a plan of action to be followed. I advise you to start with learning Estonian language. Without language you do not have the opportunity to watch the news, read newspapers, communicate and be understood by the public. You are excluded from the cultural context of the country

Humpty Dumpty from Through the Looking-Glass

shape I am. I hate to be called and egg. I think it is very provoking. I look rather like any human being I have two eyes, a nose and a mouth. Maybe my head is a bit bigger than usual but it is very beautiful. Actually I am glad to be a bit different from humans as I don't really see the different in their faces. I mean they all look alike. It would be way easier if some had, let's say, both eyes on one side of their nose. I love my life. I sit here, with my legs crossed, on this high and narrow wall and I am not afraid to fall. Well and even if I did fall, which will never happen, then the king promised me to send all his horses and his men and put me in my place again. But there is no need for it since this wall is my home and I am very sure in my capability of staying here. My most valuable asset is my cravat. It sometimes upsets me when others can't tell the difference between a cravat and a belt

Imagination is More Important That Knowledge

imagination before knowledge was embraced by man. Our imagination allows us to escalade above all limits. Numerous things all come up due to imagination. Perfect examples of such things is art, music etc neither art music nor requires any knowledge. What you have to do is involve your mind in deep imagination and you will come up with something brilliant. In our language essays we use imagination to come up with brilliant and interesting stories. Knowledge here plays a small or rather no role here, because if you had knowledge and no imagination then all would be in vain. It's through imagination that we escape the world of reality for a second. Knowledge is only what we know but imagination does not have a limit as you can imagine of anything both practical or not. I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge.

The Haunting House

The Haunting House There is a land, far away from here. It is rocky and harsh and few people live there. There is very little transportation, few radio or television shows and certainly no newspaper circulation. There are towns nearby, but they are small and undeveloped. Actually, there is nothing to develop them into. The house, we're talking about, sits high atop a rocky hill alone, as a ruin. There is much history to this place, but that history is centuries old. Recently has nothing happened here.

Kadriorg Palace The Kadriorg Art Museum Peter I began building the palace in 1718, and it was called Ekaterinenthal, or Catherinenthal, in honour of Catherine I. It is said that the tsar himself laid the first foundation stones for the palace. Tallinn Song Festival Grounds this sprawling event venue in Kadriorg has a special place in the hearts of Estonians. It was here in 1988 that the Singing Revolution, a massive, musical demonstration against Soviet rule, set Estonia on its road towards independence. Tallin is a beautiful city and I liks to live here. Tallinn has it's own good and bad sides: some pars of the city is clean and beautiful, some (but few) are dirty and filled with terrible people. It is not nice to be there.

the digestion of starch by thermal treatment or adding different chemicals. Starch is easier to digest, when food is cooked and added components like sodium sulphite, but digestion increases when food is eaten raw and has much protein in it. But for specific overview of how starch acts with different components, I highly recommend to read the study yourself. Slide 8 Here is my terminology, I will not stop here for longer. How to keep Estonians in Estonia - kirjand

How to keep Estonians in Estonia? In my opinion the first thing to do would be changing out politicians. I feel like the only thing they want is to make teir lives better, not the average person's. Whatever it is that they change it only drives Estonians away. I think that if everyone could get higher education for free they wouldn't have to get a student loan which they are not able to pay back after graduating. They have to get a well-paid job. But here in Estonia you can't get a great job unless you have a relative who's a top executive. Because of this many people go to a foreign country for a short time. At least that's what they say. Most of my friends and relatives who have gone abroad years ago are sure they are never coming back to live in Estonia. I'm not sure if it would help to keep Estonians in Estonia if kids would have a normal childhood but it really makes me angry that they have to be able to read at the age of 5

A letter to a friend describing a house for rent

Dear Michelle, Thank you for your letter, it was very nice to hear some good news from you. We're very glad that you are happy with the choice you made, by starting a new life abroad, with having many interesting chances there. You also wrote that you miss all of your friends and relatives, who you had to say goodbye to... Thinking of that, I have a marvellous suggestion for you! I know you've always wanted to have a nice summer cottage and why not to have it, here, in Estonia? I've found a lovely summerhouse for you! I also remember how much you adored these cute little hills we have in Estonia, so this lovely cottage is also on the foot of one and it's surrounded by a beautiful nature, you like to take photos of, too. It's located in the South-Estonia, near the Võru. This house has a view on a lake, where you can ride a boat and fish. It's surrounded by a little garden, in front of the house there are some beautiful roses growing

The West End of London

It was founded in 1834 by Charles Henry Harrod. Harrods is also the world's first building with an escalator. Today Harrods is an amazing place with over 330 shops, which includes twenty-six fine eating places, where you can go eat, when hungry. London is the theatre capital of the world and most of its best theatres are in the West End. There are always many fine plays and musicals to see. Piccadilly Circus is a big public space built in 1819. The word 'circus' here comes from the Latin word circle, which means a big open space where people can meet. Young people like to sit and relax there. The god of love, known as Eros, has its own memorial fountain there. Soho is an area north of Piccadilly Cirucus near Oxford Street. It attracted many foreigners, artists and writers in the past Karl Marx lived here for five years. Until 1536 Soho was part of King Henry VIII's royal park for the palace where he lived

increase the knowledges of the tourists and their cultural understanding. The most important resurss in Estonia is the untouched nature. Nowadays you can see that on the isles. There are a lot of islands and islets all around Estonia. Saaremaa and Hiiumaa are the bigest. On every summer there are all kind of parties and get-togethers for the inhabitants. Many tourists like to attend them because through them they get the right idea and feeling from our country. People here are friendly and hospitable, some even say that estonians are reserved but I don`t think those people who say that have seen the real estonian personality and behaviour. I belive there are many cities in Estonia that are worth visiting. Most tourists come to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, and they don`t go any further than that . It may be because they don`t know where to go and what possibilities are there for them. Others how-ever try to avoid the capitals when-ever travelling

Are young people living in Estonia patriots of their homeland?

the contitions Estonia has to offer. Also, many young women are convinced that Estonian men are dolts and wusses and think that foreigners make much better husbands for them and better fathers of their children. So, this is the point where young Estonian men should step out for themselves and prove that this belief is not true. There is yet another a well-known saying that describes the attitudes of Estonian young very well: it states that people always want that they have not. Looking from here everything seems to be better in the West education has higher quality and salaries are bigger. That is why youngsters are not satisfied with their lives. If Estonia offered similar conditions, young inhabitants would also stay here as the surveys have also clearly shown. All thing considered, it seems to me that more young people are becoming patriots of our homeland, because it is becoming clearer for us, that our country should and could stay alive

Marriage is/is not an outdated institution Dear audience, I am here to discuss about marriage. I would like you to ask yourself: ,,Is marriage an outdated institution?" I would say that it is, but I would prefer a word ,,special". Otherkin subculture (beliefs, behaviour, influences)

Otherkin Beliefs- Otherkin are a community of people who see themselves as partially or entirely non-human. This is explained by some members of the otherkin community through reincarnation, they have a nonhuman souls. Here you can see the model of reincarnation- it happens when a non-human (for example a fox or a wolf or a dragon) dies, their body dies but the soul never dies and it just takes some other body, gets inside there and many Otherkin community members believe that this non-human soul is in their body, that their own soul is not human. They declare that inside they are more than just homo sapiens. Not all otherkin necessarily share these beliefs; some may simply prefer to identify as non-human without this reincarnation. Mostly these peole communicate on the Internet and if they gather then mostly to talk about their past, their feelings or to just get more information about other otherkins. Behaviour- Otherkin is a pretty q...

Courage in the Storm

Where was my younger sister? I tried to remember where I saw them last. I couldn't think straight, I was overwhelmed with worry. I heard someone banging on the hatch. I opened it with lightning speed and I saw my sister standing there. "Why are you standing there? Come in, quickly!" I demanded. "Where were you? Where are mum and dad?" I asked anxiously. "I was in the toilet and suddenly I felt the house shaking. I called for mummy but nobody was there. I got scared so I crabbed my Teddy and run here, like I am taught to do." "You did good, you were very brave!" I praised her and gave her a comforting hug. I had to find out where my parents were. I taught my sister how to open and close the shelters' hatch and ordered her to stay there and wait for my return. Again, I swallowed the fear and run. I was headed back to the house, when I heard our dog Bingo howling in his kennel. Instantly I was on my way to save him. I took him into my arms and hurried back to the shelter

Urban Trail

B) For it's scandalous happenings (a couple had an intercourse on top of this bridge) C) For it's age it is a very old bridge. This photo hunt will last approximately 2 hours. First place what you will see is the sight of Tartu, from the top of Toome Hill. Everybody can take pictures if they wish. After moving forward you will stop next to a tiny hill on the Toome hill, its called "The Kissing Hill" probably because of its tradition, many fresh married couples come here to make their second kiss after married, and attach a padlock to the benches on the hill, it means that they will stick together for the rest of their lives. Also the young unmarried couples come here to kiss, because it has became to a tradition of good luck as a couple. After five minute walk you will see the ruins of Toome Cathedral. Building of the cathedral started in 13 th century and was complete in 15th century. It was a massive cathedral for Tartu and South Estonia. In course of

It can be believed that they go forth to plunder, and it is granted to them to do so, so that they greatly prejudice my honor and do very great damage to the enterprise. It is well to give to God that which is His due and to Caesar that which belongs to him. This is a just sentiment and based on justice.
