Rakvere Ametikool Isaac Newton Referaat 2009 Isaac Newtoni elulugu Sir Isaac Newton sündis 4. jaanuaril 1643. aastal Inglismaal Woolstrophe'is, Lincolnshire'is. Philosophy of language has been much in vogue since early in the twentieth century, but only since the 1960s have the issues begun to appear in high resolution. One crucial development in the past forty years is the attention of philoso- phers of language to formal grammar or syntax as articulated by theoretical linguists. I personally believe that such attention is vital to success in phi- losophizing about language, and in my own work I pay as much of it as I am able. With regret, however, I have not made that a theme of this book. Under severe space limitations, I could not expend as many pages as would be needed to explain the basics of formal syntax, without having to omit presentation of some philosophical issues I consider essential to competence

It is spoken by about 1.1 million people in Estonia and by about ten thousand people who live in various other countries. It is a Finno-Ugric language and it is closely related to Finnish. For a small nation a language plays a key role in maintaining its national identity. Estonian language uses the Latin alphabet and it has 32 letters. An interesting feature that sets Estonian apart from most languages is the vowel. The most unusal ones for foreingers are ä,ö,õ and ü. The language also has grammar durations and declinations. There are three durations (short, long and extra long and ) and fourteen decliantions. These are possibly the hardest thing for a foreinger to learn. Also postpositions are used quite often. In Estonian no articles or genders are used. Most loans come from German language. 9

Milton Academy for a preparatory year. He studied at Harvard from 1906 to 1909. Returning to Harvard in 1911 as a doctoral student in philosophy, Eliot studied the writings of F. H. Bradley, Buddhism and Indic philology. Instead, on 26 June 1915, he married Vivienne in a register office. After leaving Merton, Eliot worked as a schoolteacher, most notably at Highgate School where he taught the young John Betjeman, and later at the Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe. On June 29 he converted to Anglicanism and in November he dropped his American citizenship and became a British subject. Eliot's second marriage was happy but short. On January 10, 1957, he married Esmé Valerie Fletcher, to whom he was introduced by Collin Brooks. In sharp contrast to his first marriage, Eliot knew Miss Fletcher well, as she had been his secretary at Faber and Faber since August 1949. Eliot died of emphysema in London on January 4, 1965

Grammatika-tõlke meetod, lugemismeetod Grammatika-tõlke meetodit (ing The Grammar Translation Method) on ladina keele õpetamisel kasutatud aastasadu. 19.sajandil kujunes meetodist võõrkeelte õpetamise standart. Et ladina keele õppimist peeti kõikide keelte õppimise etaloniks, siis levis grammatika-tõlke meetod kiiresti ka muude keelte õpetamisse. For example, I collected postage stamps, played basketball, was fond of listening to music, played all manner of games, but dealt only in a neutral, uninspired fashion with plants. The one thing that was constant and of supreme importance was my love of reading. I don't recall why, but by an early age, say age 9, I was a phenomenal reader of books, a habit that persisted all the way until college. Reading expands one's mind immensely. It fires the imagination, demonstrates grammar, teaches vocabulary, informs, challenges, helps one relax. In some cases it forces the mind to concentrate, as to understand. It can help build a moral or ethical framework, and help oneself form an individual worldview. Even an untraveled child, sitting at home, can be transported by a book into any place or time.
