We arrived at the airport early. It is usually possible to put the adverb of time at the beginning of the sentence: On Monday I’m going to Paris. Every morning Tom walks to work. Some adverbs, such as Adverbs of Frequency and Degree (always/also/probably) go with the verb in the middle of a sentence: Tom always goes to work by train. Fast food

can usually get a filling meal. However, fast food is inexpensive because it is usually made with cheaper ingredients such as high fat meat, refined grains, and added sugar and fats, instead of nutritious foods such as lean meats, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Is fast food bad? There is no such thing as a "bad" food. All foods can fit into a healthy meal plan. It's true that fast food is usually high in fat, calories, cholesterol and sodium, but eating fast food every once in a while is not going to cause you problems. If you eat too much fast food over a long period of time, though, it can lead to health problems like high blood pressure, heart disease, and obesity. Is some fast food healthier than others? Many fast food chains are revamping their menus to respond to customers comments. For example, some chains no longer serve foods with trans fat, and many have menu items that contain fruits and vegetables. If you are having fast food more than once a week,

House of my dreams

north-east of the city- it is about fifteen minutes by bus. But it is not so bad, in big cities you need fifty minutes! That’s why I love my city. My dream house should be located outside the city, where I can find true peace and happiness. I dream to live in a private house somewhere in the village. I will have a two-storey white house. Around the house there will be a lot of big trees and my own little lake. There, I will breed fish and I’m going to catch it with my son in summer and play hockey in winter. Behind the house, there will be little garden where we will grow vegetables in order eat fresh and healthy food. Also I want to build a gazebo next to the lake to buy and put there a grill, in order to cook something delicious or to sit around the campfire watch a movie. On the first floor, will be a dining room, a guest room (with the little home cinema), my working room, a WC, a bathroom, and of course I want that there will

Comparison. Jan Guillous’ ” Evil”.

The plot of the film is basically the same as the books, but in the film, the director has tried to make Erik seem better. In my opinion it was unnecessary because although Erik was more violent in the book, he still made a positive impression. But in the movie some of the most important scenes were left out and the movie lost a lot with that. It seems that the director tried to make Erik seem like a non-violent hero or something like that. At first, when I found out that "Evil" is going to be on TV, I was really exited in seeing it and finding out on how it had been produced. But after seeing it, I was somewhat disappointed, because as I've said, the producer left out some of the best parts. But those who hadn't read the book and watched it with me really liked it, so I guess it was a pretty good film. On the other hand, one of my friend who had read the book, thought the same as me. So I guess I would really recommend the book, but I would only recommend the

used ones. Ice skates can be really expensive, but you should buy expensive ones, when you are already professional. The primary danger in ice skating is falling on the ice. You can be injured really seriously, but usually you just get some bumps or bruises. The second, and more serious danger is falling through the ice into the freezing water, when you are skating on the lake or on the pond. It may end with drowning. That's why you should always check ice thickness before and when you are going to skate, you should bring somebody with you. There is also opportunity to go skating in summer on technically built ice field, but they are located in big cities and also you have to pay for it. For me it is little too expensive, because transportation and ice field rent would cost a lot of money. Next hobby, which i like to talk about, is really similar to my favorite hobby. It is roller skating. It is hobby, which you can deal with in spring, summer or even in autumn. I can't

Computer games - for and against

when kids don't think about anything but playing games on the computer and sacrificing hours upon hours of studying and socializing to play "a few more" rounds. Another bad thing is teen obesity. It's confirmed that the risk being overweight is increased for every hour spent behind the computer. This is caused by lack of physical activity, because people are spending their free time at home, killing terrorists and racing in video game instead of going out and playing football with their friends. People who play computer games for several hours every day frequently have lack of social interaction with people. They don't go outside and socialize with other people, because they need to gain more levels in a game to impress their internet buddies. Although there are a lot of cons to paying computer games, there are also positive sides to it. For example a lot of games help to develop children's mental abilities. When playing first-

Shakespeare " A midsummer night's dream"

William Shakesepare ,, A Midsummer nights dream" William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Nights Dream is about love. Shakespeare creates for readers a world of wonder. How true is my love? Will it stay true? Is there a destiny for me? Do I make my own destiny? With that we see Hermia and Lysander. Their love is found to be altered throughout the story. Can you tell who you are going to love tomorrow, do you know for sure that you wont wake up tomorrow infatuated with someone else? Is love predictable? For many the answer to that question is yes but thinking logically you can't choose love. "I would my father looked but with my eyes." (Act I scene 1 line 57 Hermia). Hermia'a father Egeus has chosen for her a husband. Hermia is in love with someone already. Hermia won't have her life be chosen for her and she decides to elope with her love. This is exciting and

It was a perfectly ordinary Friday evening

It was a perfectly ordinary Friday evening. Dark, muddy and full moon shining in the sky.Parents decided to go to our summer cottage on this weekend. It is a little old house in the woods, but not far from our house there are ohter summer cottages. Father helped us carry things into the house, after that sister and I decided to take a walk in the woods. Mom asked us to be careful, because people were talking about a creature that was hairy, fast and with bloody eyes and sharp teeth. We thought it is unbelivable and funny, just for people could have something to talk about. After all it seemed impossible. We took different way than usually. We walked until we came to an old, ugly, deserted house. Curiosity was so great that we forgot mom's advice. Approaching the house we saw window frames covered with cobwebs . We decided to open the door even tough we were frightened... Creeeek! We trembled and took a step back .. we realized that it w...

elementary things. Have any of you recently written to your relatives by hand? If so, I believe a few of you. We are merely in the beginning of the 21 st century, but technical development has got a hard push whereas ours is slowing down. So what happens in the end of the century? Only recently I discussed with my friends that it would be nice if we had a teleport, which allow us to go home without riding on a bus or going on foot. Maybe it isn't just a dream and some day we would have it, but what about our health? Even now so many people are suffering from obesity and imagine the situation when nobody needs to exercise at all. I believe that it is not worth it. I recommend you to think, before you take another invention, which thinks for you. I suggest trying to do something by yourself too because we need to fight against the machines which are smarter than us

But well, we all make mistakes, sometimes bigger and sometimes smaller. I'm going to talk about a short story about bullying in my childhood in my other school. We had a really great class and almost everybody held together. But like in almost every class, there is someone different from others and that may cause them problems with the other people. We had very many these classmates who were a little bit bullied and couldn't stand for themselves. There was a girl, who wasn't very thin and that's the main purpose she was bullied

The Fear of Choosing The Wrong Major in University

The Fear of Choosing The Wrong Major in University People have to make a lot of choices throughout their lifetime. One of the biggest choices a person has to make is to choose what they are going to study after high school. Many students decide to acquire vocational education and they have to choose which profession to pursue, whether it be, for example, learning to become a technician or a hairdresser. However, a bigger majority of teenagers decide to go to university. But before doing so, teenagers have to be certain what kind of study program they will be taking. This puts young people under a lot of stress, because they have a lot of doubt and fear.

CRITISIM ABOUT IMF AND WORLD BANK

circumstances and the prescriptive recommendations by the World Bank and IMF fail to resolve the economic problems within the countries. As a example author is using Ecuador that is a small country in South America. In 1968- 1998 IMF and World Bank interviened with large loans to help the country but the growth of poverty increased form 50% to 70%, under or unemployment 15%to 70% and the public debt grew from 240 million to 16 billion (Perkins, 2004, lk 239). This essay is going to explore how this kind of thing could have happened? The idea is not to blame well-known organizations. The idea is to observe and explain what happened to Ecuador and discuss if the criticism about this matter is grounded. In this essay author is going to use a book “ Confessions of an Economic Hitman“ by John Perkins that spent a year on New York Times bestseller list in 2004 and caused lot of discussion all over the world. Ways of saving money There are very many different ways of saving money. Some people save money by spending less, some save money by First of all, nowadays it is not very easy to save money. Often people can put asside a little bit of money at once and it takes a long time to collect the money you need for something. Comparison of Education in Britain and Estonia

Comparison of Education in Britain and Estonia When looking into the educational systems of Britain and Estonia, several differences appear. In this essay I am going to point out some of the most distinguish features in the education of both countries. Firstly, there are dissimilarities in the age at which children go to school. In Estonia the age is 7 whereas in Britain children start their educational journey already as young as 5 years old. Primary school lasts 6 years just like in Estonia but the pupils in Britain are 2 years younger when they finish primary school than the pupils in Estonia. However, students in Britain and

Learning foreign language - Why is it necessary?

Learning foreign language - Why is it necessary? I think learning different languages are very important if you want to see world and people abroad. It makes your life easier if you can learn some larger language than Estonian. Estonian is very little language and example is quite hard to get god job if you cannot speak some world language. This is very positive that we can learn at least two foreign language in the school. Very important is than we get practice beside school lessons. Some things like watching films and listening music make us understand this language better. In the future I would like to learn french and Swedish but first I should learn to speak Russian and English correctly. If we travel, we anyway communicate with different people and it's easier to make contact than we can speak language very well. And communicating with different people make our world-view larger. If ...

To swear or not to swear ?

Swearing has become a natural part of the society. It can be said that almost everybody uses swear words, particularly popular is it among youngsters and teenagers. In this paper I am going to discuss the positive and negative sides of swearing and why people swear. Firstly, people swear beacause it helps to relieve stress and blow off steam, like crying does for small children, to camouflage a person's fear or insecurity, establish a group identity, establish membership in a group and maintain the group's boundaries, express solidarity with other people or just to add humor, emphasis or "shock value" (http://people.howstuffworks.com/swearing1.htm). When exiting the lift at the third level there are 15 more steps to ascend to the upper observation platform. Overview Shape of the tower Eiffel and his engineers, as renowned bridge builders however, understood the importance of wind forces and knew that if they were going to build the tallest structure in the world they had to be certain it would withstand the wind. The shape of the tower was therefore determined by mathematical calculation involving wind resistance. Installations Since the beginning of the 20th century, the tower has been used for radio transmission. Until the 1950s, an occasionally modified set of antenna wires ran from the summit to anchors on the Avenue de Suffren and Champ de Mars Eiffel Tower at night Restaurants

Tolerance.

behavior. Tolerance also means treating others the way you would like to be treated. Nobody wants to be mocked or even be a victim of physical violence. In reality, we have no idea how much pain our small insignificant words can cause. We may think we are strong, but we fought inconsiderate of the fact, that not all are as strong as us. A person, who has sustained constant mocking in matters, which he might not be the one to blame, might be smiling on the outside, but going through hell on the inside. And hell is definitely not the place we would like to find ourselves. That points us to the fact that religious people are often persecuted and even the Bible says, that the life of a Christian is no picnic, you have to stand above mockery and the fact that you may be rejected from the society. Of course there are many people who think differently. The facts that Christians burned heretics, tortured

A Computer in my life

I don't trust online shopping. I have never shopped online, and probably won't do it in future. I'm against ACTA, SOPA and PIPA because it would change the use of computers and Internet. Internet would go under control and there would be a small group of people controlling the information that is moving there. That would make people and companies who are rich enough, even more rich and there wouldn't be any freedom of speech anymore. I'm going to use computers until the end of my life, they make accessing information a lot easier and 100 more things. I couldn't imagine a world, society without computers and Internet right now. Internet is so important for information to spread all over the world. Erki Baumann, 9c

Essay about my family

during the year. They have also a very smart daugther who is travelling around the world. Now she stays in Germany and study genetic engineering. My uncle and aunt are also a very important persons in my life. Our family celebrates also different events. Mostly I like Christmas celebrations. On Christmas night we always eat meal, potatoes and lots of sweets. I usually help my mother with meal preparation. Also we visit sometimes theatre. Every summer we are going to the Pärnu where we rent a cottage. We always have a lot of fun. I believe that family is one of the biggest God's gifts. We don't notice this in our everyday life. Only in some specific moments we realize how these people are important to us and that no one else in this world will love us as they do. I very appreciate that I have so good family. I can say that my family is no doubt a happy family.

Why do we learn the English language?

I leran English because I want to read foreign literature in the original. I know and like such English as Ch.Dickens, M.Twain, L.Carroll and others. I understand that I must learn English. If I know English well, shall be able to go to the library and take books by English and American writers in the original. I like to travel. But it is difficult to visit countries, when you don´t know the language of these countries. If I know the language of the country, where I am going to, it will be easy to travel there. I lke to read books. And I like to read newspaper too. If I know, for example, English I´ll be able to read ,,The Morning Star". I know, that it is a very popular newspaper. Knowledge of foreign languages helps us to develop friendship and understanding among the people. For example, we have a foreign exhibition in Moscow. If I know a foreign language, it is easy for me to visit this exhibition. If I want to ask something, I can do it in English

The fifth element

wasn't an usual science fiction. Compare to ohter this type of films this was actually quite enjoyable even though the plot was really predictable. The thing what was really ridiculous was these silly costumes. Usually the aliens should look scary, but in this film you just can't stop laughing at them and this blue singing diva? Theres no way you can take her seriously. The only scary thing was maybe the voice of the ultimate evil character. But besides funny moments there is also some action going. To sum up I would say that it's that kind of film where you don't have to follow the plot too much. It's not a scary or very serious movie, rather amusing after a long day. Also it's nice to have this DVD in your collection because it's just that type of film to whatch with your friends when you've got nothing else to do. Karin Visnapuu

Ensure that you can successfully carry out the process you'll be describing by going through the necessary steps yourself repeatedly until you are convinced that you know how to complete them properly and explain them clearly. 2 Assume that your reader knows nothing at all about the process you'll be describing when you write your manual. This will remind you to take nothing for granted as you explain how to complete the procedure and will prevent you from leaving gaps in your explanation that your reader will find frustrating.

Analysis of an article

were published in one of Estonia's biggest newspapers, Postimees, and also in a video format in ,,Pealtnägija", I believe that it will make hundreds of people to change the way they think and might-be even to consume less meat. Still, this topic probably does not have such a great impact at the moment as it will in the future. Timeliness: 10/10 The article and show were published on the same thay of writing this analysis, so this story is very recent. Also, the 'trend' of going vegan or consuming less meat is becoming more and more popular, so the topic itself is quite timely too. Proximity: 10/10 I believe that at the moment this story will only affect Estonians, so it is very proximate. The topic of it is affecting people around the globe, though. Conflict: 6/10 The story contains several conflicts. 1. Will people change their eating habits to save the planet or keep eating the way they do, knowing the damage that it will cause? 2

Hotellimajanduse globaalsed probleemid

konflikti. 5 Kirby, A. Going Green, Satisfying Guests.

5 Kirby, A. Going Green, Satisfying Guests. 10 KOKKUVÕTE Roheline Võti on rahvusvaheline keskkonnamärgis, mis on üheks mooduseks ettevõtetele käituda keskkonnasäästlikult. Samas on see ainus keskkonnaprogramm Eestis, mis on kasutuselolev majutusettevõtetes. Personal diary Student:Anton Stseglakov Teacher:Evelin Pähn School:Haapsalu Gümnaasium Grade:10b Haapsalu 2008 First snow in 2008-23 november On 23 November the first snow of year 2008 was falling down from the sky all day long. Snowdrift was caused by strong wind, and it was very interesting to look how everything was going white. It had been a long time since I saw snow, so I was looking forward to see it.But I didn't expect it to come down in such huge quantity. I could sit behind the window for hours, observing the power of nature. It made me forget everything negative I felt that time and gave me an unforgetable memorial. Travel to Riga on 26 October I woke up 15minutes later than my father. My eyes were still closed and I couldn't open them before I got a cup of hot coffee

Economy of Estonia

Estonian Economy Estonians earn about half of the average European income, despite the fact that the economic growth during the recent years has been very fast and the differences have been diminishing. Although the extremely vigorous period of economic reforms is now over, the changes that Estonia is presently going through are far more extensive than those in the developed countries. The Estonian economy is diverse industry and transport, as well as commerce and different branches of services are all equally important. Due to the available natural resources Estonian economy largely relies on the branches related to the forest; Estonian energy sector is based on oil shale, a resource quite rare elsewhere in the world. Finland and Sweden are the most important trade partners. The Estonian economy profits

The Bolsheviks undoubtedly will soon 'find' that we shot 12,000 Polish officers. That episode is one that is going to cause us quite a little trouble in the future. The Soviets are undoubtedly going to make it their business to discover as many mass graves as possible and then blame it on us." Et tegelikult korraldasid Katõni veresauna Beria ja Stalin ise, tuli välja alles 1980. aastate lõpus. 8. Powerpointi esitlus vanalinna objektidest

finished yet, your answer had better be an emphatic "no." One of Tallinn's oldest legends tells of the Ülemiste Vanake, the old man from Lake Ülemiste, which sits on the outskirts of town. One dark night each autumn he rises from the lake, knocks on the city gates and asks, "Is the city finished yet, or is there still work being done?" The guards have strict orders to answer no, there's still loads of construction going on and it'll probably be years before it's ready. The disappointed old man then turns and leaves, grumbling all the way back to the lake. The belief was that if the answer were ever yes, the old man would call up the waters of the lake and wipe out the city in a great flood. Luckily, despite ups and downs in the local economy, there's always some construction going on in Tallinn so the city is safe from the old man for the time being. The Devil's Wedding

Mary Shelly "Frankenstein"

He was devastated and went to the mountains to calm down. There he met the creature. He told Victor what he had done in the meanwhile. He confessed killing Victor's brother. The monster also demanded that Victor created a female monster so that he could be with her. At first Victor agreed and he started to make her but later he realised it was wrong and he stopped. The monster threatened that somerhing bad would happen on Victor's wedding day. Victor was going to marry Elizabeth but on their wedding night the creature killed her. Victor swore vengeance and he started to follow the creature. The creature escaped to the North Pole and that's how Victor got to the vessel. Victor got very ill and eventually he died. I quite liked the novel, although it was very hard to read because it had very many unknown words. Some words weren't even in a dictionary. The creature was sometimes called a fiend and a wretch

Why should tourists visit Estonia?

say that estonians are reserved but I don`t think those people who say that have seen the real estonian personality and behaviour. I belive there are many cities in Estonia that are worth visiting. Most tourists come to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, and they don`t go any further than that . It may be because they don`t know where to go and what possibilities are there for them. Others how-ever try to avoid the capitals when-ever travelling. For them going to the countryside is the best way to relax and to get to know the real living standards. In conclusion I would like to say that I personally believe that people who have thought of coming to Estonia for a relaxing vacation with their family should certainly do so. There are so many different ways to have a good time and at the same time educate yourself. We have a history full of surprises and interesting stories and people here are very friendly. So why not visit us.

Womenrights essee

The Status of Women in The World For a long time, through the history of human kind, women have fought for their rights. Issue of women rights and women status has always been discussed and there are many different points of view on this problem. In civilized community you are taught to respect human being as an equal to yourself. It just happens to be, that many eastern regions of men are not as happy as western nations, about the idea of leaving the wonderful life, in which they could tell a random female to strip and make them happy, for a life of begging for the thing they have been getting so easily. In europe a wife in a household is irreplaceable. No man is capable of raising children, cleaning, cooking, ironing and making money at the same time, thus men and women have divided their duties. Usually couple living together also provides eachother with support and comfort, wh...

Their latest album is quite new, its name is "Life Starts Now" and it was published on the 22nd September in 2009. The album that I'm going to review is their debut album "Three days grace", which has 12 tracks on it, but if you decide to buy the deluxe version you get one extra track and acoustic versions of two tracks that are already on the CD. The songs on the album are named as follows: "Burn", "Just Like You", "I Hate Everything About You", "Home", "Scared", "Let You Down", "Now or Never", "Born Like This", "Drown", "Wake Up", "Take Me Under" and "Overrated".
