Even public figures have a right to privacy

Even public figures have a right to privacy The issue of whether or not the public figures deserve more privacy than they are given today is a complicated one. Some people claim that the public officials are constantly disturbed by the media and the privacy for them should be enforced more. But there are individuals who believe that the public figures do not deserve more privacy because they have signed up for their life to be well known. Those for increased privacy for public figures, supporters of more privacy: + Privacy is a right that shouldn't be taken away from anyone no matter how famous they are + They are not obligated to share any details of their private life + The journalists publish news and pictures, which have a negative impact on the public official's reputation (exaggerations, misrepresentation of facts) Those against increased privacy for public figures, opponents of more privacy - Public figures should expect ...

Biggest dangers to wild animals in Estonia.

What are the biggest dangers to wild animals in Estonia? Wild animals in Estonia, like in many other places in the world, are in danger. Forest industry, agriculture and other human activities in the nature, as well as pollution, disturb and even endanger the life of wild animals. Firstly, big forest machines disturb animals. For example, in winter the machines disturb animals who hibernate in winter. As a result, animals can leave their habitations and go somewhere else where is quiter. In addition to disturbing animals, the forest industry endanger wild animals' lives. Some machines can simply kill some animals accidentally. Besides, there are some species which are rear in Estonian forests. These species should be protected.

Life in Estonia through the eyes of an economics student

I have been studying economics for a few months now and I would not say that my point of view on life in Estonia has changed. There are some things I recently started to look on differently but I am not sure is it because of TUT or not. Through my entire life I have seen Estonia as a strong and fast growing country which is also a fact because Estonian economy was one of the fastest growing in the world until 2006 with growth rates even exceeding 10% annually. I find it being quite impressive. There are some fields which Estonia can fill with supplies by itself. We are nearly energy independent country, supplying over 90% of our electricity need with locally mined oil shale. Estonia has also an alternative energy sources such as wood and peat. I could call myself earth friendly because I love walking around the forest and breading some fresh air but I do

Pet therapy

Pet therapy.  A kind of treatment designed to stimulate people who are withdrawn or uncommunicative has recently been given a new name: pet therapy. It has given difficult children, lonely old people and even anti-social prisoners a completely new outlook on life  Even though pet therapy is only now being widely used, it is not a new idea. In the eighteenth century an English doctor, William Tuke, filled the grounds of a hospital for mentally disturbed people with chickens, rabbits and goats. At a time when people were usually punished for strange behavior rather than helped, this was a radical new approach to treating the mentally disturbed. Tuke's idea was that patients could learn

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

12.d “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” (Mahatma Gandhi) Mahatma Ghandi expresses that everything starts with us, our willingness to help create the world we dream of. It is unlikely that any of us will be the next Mother Teresa but every person has hidden power to do something that benefits to the society. People´s roles are nowadays as important as the next persons, even if they think that little things are insignificant and have no effect, with enough people these small things add up and make an even bigger change that any single organization or person could ever do. To be the change we want to see in the world, people do not have to be smart, rich or well educated. They need to have a dream and commitment. The problems facing the world today are great, and it will surely take the greatness of millions if not billions of people working together towards a

Terrorism and fighting against it

Terrorism and fighting against it Terrorism is not new and even though it has been used since the beginning of recorded history it can be relatively hard to define. Terrorism has been described differently as both a tactic and strategy; a crime and a holy duty; a justified reaction to oppression and an unforgivable abomination. Obviously, a lot depends on whose point of view it is being represented. Terrorism has often been an effective tactic for the weaker side in a conflict.

Brexit (inglise keelne)

From 28 to 27. What is the long-term consequence of the UK leaving the European Union? There is no question that the United Kingdom leaving the European Union or Brexit as we all know it, is a big hit for the EU and the UK. It’s by no means an easy process and a lot of people are against it, but today nothing can be done to stop it. Even though Brexit is seen by its leaders as a positive change, it will also have quite a negative effect on Britain and play a big role in reshaping European Union. Most British people were voting for Brexit to regain sovereignty, to ‘take back control’ and regulate their laws. At first glance, it may seem that they would be in charge of their actions which would mean that nobody on the outside can manipulate them. Although nowadays

Estonian climate in winter-time.

Estonian climate in winter-time. In Estonia, winter climate is very variable. Some year, it could be very cold outside, but some year it could be so warm you may wear your autumn clothes in winter. Some year it could snow so much, that you can't even get out of the house, because there's too much snow in front of your door and some year it may not snow for at least half of the winter-time. But no worries, mostly the temperature may go below -30 and because of the cold, students are absent from schools. The absent students mess up the whole classes program, because then it takes more time to study some subjects and teachers have a lot more work to do. I think, that when students skip

Gender equality in higher positions of companies

Many high-level positions in companies are filled by men even though the workforce in many developed countries is more than 50 percent female. Companies should be required to allocate a certain percentage of these positions to women. To what extent do you agree? In the 21st century it is all about gender equality and every individual wants to achieve high level position in their work place. In the past, women, in many societies, had less rights and privileges than men. The statement says that companies should give a certain number of higher positions to

Hamleti esimese monoloogi kokkuvõte

The soliloquy begins with Hamlet wishing that his body would melt, turn into water and become like dew (hommikukaste). He also would like if the God hadn't made a law forbidding suicide. He says that life seems weary, stale, flat and useless to him. He moans as it is terrible. The world was like and unweeded garden that had finally gone to seed but only ugly things thrived. He can't believe what had happened as his father was dead only two months. Not even that long. He says how excellent king his father was compared to the current king, his uncle. His father was like the sun god Hyperion compared to a lecherous satyr (ihar satüür). He believes that his father had been very loving to his mother and he wouldn't have even allowed the gentle breeze of heaven to blow too roughly on her face. Hamlet doesn't want to remember it, so he closes his ears. He remembers how much his mother loved his father but still not

In war, there are no unwounded soldiers. Jose Narosky If we see a soldier who has returned from the war with no visible injuries we think he got lucky. But in war there is always injuries, even if we can`t see them. This essay will touch upon soldiers who go through death of friends, companions and even enemies which will leave a big hole in their souls, also soldiers who have died in war and have left behind families and in some cases kids who have to grow up with one parent. Not to mention the wounded ones, who will suffer from the actions of the war for the rest of their lives. Music is filled with many feelings, many words and a lot of soul. Music is like a good friend who is always there. Should class attendance be mandatory for university students?

well as secondary school being obligatory, then opinions on required class attendance at university are quite divided. Both two alternatives have their respective up- and downsides but all aspects considered, which is more beneficial? To start off, the students’ chosen specialty usually reflects their interests which means that said students, in fact, want to attend classes. In this case, it seems unnecessary to make classes mandatory as it will be more time consuming and virtually even pointless for them to explain their reason for absence. After all, it is relatively common that when students take interest in a subject, it is highly unlikely they will deliberately miss a class. Regardless of classes being enjoyable to students, there are always some exceptions. For instance, the lack of motivation is quite a frequent occurrence among university students. This means that even though the chosen specialty might be agreeable to them, some still play truant

Are we too dependent on computers? Computer is quite new invention, but it is amazing how fast its popularity have increased. People all over world use the Internet for sending e-mails, playing games, communicating with friends, buying things and reading interesting articles or newspapers. Even in a small country like Estonia almost in every home there is at least one computer or even more. Firstly, nowadays almost every indoor vocation requires computer knowledge because all paperwork is done with a computer. Work with computer is comfortable and much easier. People are dedicated to computers. They can make researches, find information and cannot even imagine their everyday life without computers. I really can't choose anyone else because I spend the most time with her I could have chosen my little brother but he is too annoying. I like my sister the most because she knows me the best and she knows when to stay away from me when I need my space, but also when I need someone to talk to then I can just easily talk to her and I can trust her with my secrets. I know when I talk to her about some kind of problems she is always there for me and atleast tries to help me out even when there is nothing to help with. From time to time we fight but have you ever heard of sisters who don't have their differences but we resolve them quite fast that sometimes we even forget why we were fighting at the first place. I like the fact that she doesn't get angry when i borrow something of hers and the same goes vice versa. To be quite frank I adore my sister and sometimes even admire the things

Computerised world – a better or a worse place to live in ?

do not totally agree with that saying. Computers are able to do everything that make our life easier, but why are there still so many different opinions about ones' usefulness? The positive side of having computers in our life is how much it actually changes our life and makes it easier. There are no problems, I mean literally no problems that computers could not do. Computers are used to find information, read news, study, and some even play computer games. But to be exact, computer is not only that small box that stays under our desks or the lap-tops that are well known today. Computers are everything automatic that surround us, for example nowadays there are no cars made without computerised parts. Even shopping would not be even close to like it is now if we would not have all that amazing technology. Of course, like every other thing, computerised world has its own downsides. Kids spend too much

If I Were a Minister of Education

In the last five years we have witnessed several changes in the education system. Although some people find it useful and needed, others find it tragic. What has changed and what would I do to make school a better place? Firstly, there are several things that has been changed in the last few years, such as financing vocational schools. Students of vocational schools get paid for good grades and in some schools even for attending school. Even dorms are paid for students. That is true, we have a chance of getting a little scholarship in high schools, if we graduate with a medal, but it is times and times harder to achieve. In fact government has started to close high schools because they think that there are too many of them. It looks like our country wants only graduates with vocational education, which I find really sad. If I were a minister of education I would do everything to help students to graduate gymnasium, not

The Integration of subjects

The Integration of subjects The present-day school system revolves around traditional education, in which students learn each subject individually. This structure means that pupils don’t have the capability or know-how to connect math, biology or even art into their daily life. Even though the tutors of this conventional education have faith in the arrangement of subjects it is still entirely about high test scores, grades and graduation. The essence of progressive, alternative education like the integration of subjects is learning and the accumulation of valuable knowledge & skill. First of all, the courses that should be combined need to be challenging to the students. It would

The room was filled with the smoke of numberless cigarettes. The girl, however, made no emotion and came closer to the old and ugly man sitting behind the table. "I wasn't lucky today, Grandpa," whispered the child and her light blue eyes filled with tears as she talked. The man smoked soundlessly, not even glancing at the girl. "But I'll go again, tomorrow, and bring you twice the money! I promise! So don't punish me, okay?" The man stood up and walked slowly towards the girl. "I promised your mother to take care of you, yet, if you are useless in even collecting money from the rich, I can't help you! This is the end, Heartless! The Lively Side of Death In DiscWorld, nothing makes sense. At least when reading a book from the series for the first time. The fact that there even exists an entity such as Death, might give you a glimpse of the world Pratchett has created. And to even make things weirder, Death seems to be having a personality crisis in this book. It is truly a mind-blowing experience to imagine everything as .vividly as has been described in the book When Death first came to Mort, he offered Mort a job. Maintaining his cruel and calm posture, Death appeared to be just like he has been imagined in novels and movies alike. However, as

People always loved creating things themselves

When a lot of down-to-earth lifehacks appeal to me, like this one with quick egg shell pealing, for which you only need to shake an boiled egg in a glass jar with water. But sometimes those life hack and diy videos get to far and stop being useful. Whether they are too stupid or too complicated to recreate requiring lots of materials they become unuseful. So let me show you some examples of extremely viral «lifehacks» your first mpression of which would probably be «who's idea it even was?» The first one: tired of cleaning up the dishes just cover your plate with food film. Next one suddenly need to make a stand for a phone use some clothes clips and a line. Another very useful diy a bath rag out of hosepipe because of course it will take less time and money and this rag will be the centre of attention for everyone that will enter your bathroom. Why was life better-worse in Estonia 50 years ago?

Why was life better /worse in Estonia 50 years ago? If we go back in time 50 years, then we will find ourselves in the year 1958. Certainly it was not one the brightest periods in our lives, because all the Estonians were occupied by Russians and the governing power was also held by them. It was a time where we never even dreamed about life we are having nowadays. The way of life was very complicated, people had limited rights and all the things we nowadays have done by machines were all handmade. These are the major reasons, which made me think that life was worse 50 years ago than now. Why was it so? Firstly, nowadays we can speak about many comforts, which 50 years ago was not so. In 1950s' there were any conveniences at all everything had to be made by yourself and people were living a poor life

Few weeks later I got it, at first I was kind of afraid of the pain but it wasn't as bad as I imaged. I am so happy with the result and totally planning to have another one soon. Also thank you for noticing my English improvement. I've been learning a lot because I'm planning to take an English exam. I even hired an English tutor for a while, but it was too expensive and because of that I'm learning by myself. I have no plans for the summer. Basically I'm planning to enjoy the summer and visit the beach, go swimming and hang out with friends. Thank you for the invitation. I would love to come to London. We would have so much fun together and I would be happy to see how is life in England. Maybe one day I will even live there. But I have to go now, because my bus to school leaves in 20 minutes

I don't really have much problems with computers because I know how to handle them pretty well. But the problem with computers is that it's really unhealthy because there is not any physical activity in sitting behind the desk all day and instead of going out with friends we just talk to them online which isn't even half as entertaining. In the future I think I will have use the computer even more often because as time goes on, computers will have an even more important part in our lives.

Millennials and Technology

Let's face it you're a robot! Technology to millennials is different from what any other generation has seen it as. We don't like to list microwaves, radiators or anything like that as a part of it. The world of technology has grown so fat these couple of year that we don't consider a regrigirator to be more than a basic need. Even radios and televisions are starting to fall into that category of regular appliances every household has to have. Generation Y has a whole new list of technology which nowadays includes a phone, a computer, gaming consoles, a televison, and basically anything you can control without ever having to get up or even leave our rooms. Talent vs experience speech

For instance, you can’t be a ballet dancer if you haven’t assumptions for that or you can’t be a composer if you haven’t musical hearing. If you have a talent, but you are not willing to use it and work with it you do not develop and then the talent is useless. I have a friend who has great singing voice, but she hasn’t trained it and unfortunately she’s not achieved anything in singing. I think if she had practiced singing, she could be very good and maybe even famous singer. Furthermore, Experience is something that everybody can gain and i think that experience is even more important than talent. Some jobs like a driver, police officer or firefighter need experience. Anybody isn’t born for becoming a firefighter. I believe that if you have a real intention, then you can be anything you want, you just have to work for it. I can’t say i am a talented dancer, but i have a real intention to dance, so i work hard to become

been defined yet so differently by various sociologists. Emile Durkheim (Durkheim, 1912) tries to explain meaning by describing the importance of religion in social interactions, and by portraying the similarities between social interaction and religion. Society never stops creating sacred things. Durkheim (Durkheim, 1912) elaborates, that "when a belief is shared by all people, to deny or question it is forbidden." He brings an example of the right to free speech even if individuals' opinions differ gravely, in a civilized communication they will still respect the principle of free discussion. Durkheim assures that "we defer to society's orders not simply because it is equipped to overcome our resistance but, first and foremost, because it is the object of genuine respect". Thus, commonly generated meaning compels people to maintain social order because it in itself carries meaning for all the individuals in the society.

Wonders of the Modern World

Wonders of the modern world I think that wonders of the modern world are scientific and technological achievements, not buildings anymore, like they were believed to be in the Ancient World. In my opinion the most important so called wonder of the modern world is Internet. It's just because it is so widely used in all over the world. It makes possible to do so many things, of what humankind half a century ago couldn't even dream of. It's only a matter of time, when there will be even more interactivity between the user and the website, like for example allowing us to give instructions to the website using speech. Second wonder in modern world would be space travel. Since Neil Armstrong stepped out of his space capsule onto the surface of the moon in 1969, there have been many space probes to several different planets and even to the sun. So far, there has not been found any

Science reigns people

”. The more one thinks about his words, the more they have to be accepted. It is true that science affects people, but the most influential is the part that directly concerns them and their lives. That is why this essay will take a closer look at some of the pros and cons of medical development. I will begin with the positive aspects of medical evolution. Firstly, thanks to advanced medicine, doctors are able to detect diseases at an early stage, or even before they arise, which gives people a longer life. Secondly, knowing how diseases spread and behave is possible with the help of medicines to avoid huge outbreaks that could kill thousands of people. Thirdly, studies will be helping to make the medicaments less harmful. Fourthly, making complex transplant operations can help many people to survive and live a full life. While it is true to say that development of medicine affects people, I think that there are at

A book review

The book has a slightly depressing undertone because Holdens thougts about the situation he was in and his surroundings were often very gloomy. The lousy hotel where he stayed was probably the gloomiest part of the book. The author uses slang and repeats often same words which is essentially quite similar to something that a teenager would do. This does not make, however, the text duller but makes it more lifelike. What surprised me was that even though it is about 60 years old but still alot of today's young people face similar problems as did Holden. Like not knowing what to do with one's life. At first it seemed to me that it was just a random part of someones life. While reading the book I got often bored and couldn't understand what was so special about it and why it is so famous. After finishing the book my first impressioon was that I didn't like it. But I still could not get it out of my mind

Why? · Will people read less in the future? · Why is it important to read books? You should write about 200 words. Books Today and Tomorrow People read books for knowledge and to pass free time. In the past people read more, because nowadays tehnology has developed so much. Some of this period children do not really know how to work with books and are too lazy for that all the information is on the Internet. People can read books online even, so using books has lost its value. It is said that people will read books even less in the future. I agree on that, because the technology age has begun. Because of this, young people do not know or want to about books. Instead, the play games and surf on the Internet. In addition to that, parents make expensive gifts, such as telephones, i-pad's and lap tops to their children and even teach them how to use it if the do not already know it yet. However,

Capital punishments should not be abolished

instead of capital punishment. I think that they deserve capital punishment. Why? If they spend their whole life in prison, it means, they will have three free meals in a day and they can also watch tv, study, work, don't have to pay taxes and some of the prisons look more nicer than someone's ordinary home and who pays for their free living? We do. I also think that some of the criminal are kind of mentally ill and they will never feel guilty of what they did and some are even proud of it if they have murdered or tortured somebody's daughter or son and and all they get for punishment is carefree life? No. It's my opinion that they should be treated same as way as they treated someone else and in many cases it means capital punishment. Also it's said that if we abolish capital punishment, we will save lives. Most of the criminals, who are in prison for long time, have murdered someone or even many of people, if the are serial killers

Famous person Russell Brand (Describing people) - Essee

provocative, rebellious, narcissistic, truthful and a clever man. He is not the kind of person you would miss walking down the street. He has said that he looks like a second Jesus. This man has sholder-length dark curly and very messy hair, which he has said only works on a man when you are famous, otherwise you would look like a mental illness. He has a short beard and is quite skinny and scruffy looking. Some people have even said that he looks effeminate and homeless. His style is quite hard to describe. Sometimes the man looks very decent and formal wearing suits, ties and even a top hat. On other times he dresses up completely crazily. For example he has been spotted wearing a pirate costume, pajamas, bloody t-shirt, cowboy hat, underwear and even womens dresses. Some would say he is completely insane, but other argue that he is just so brilliant he acts crazy. This man is Russell Brand

Floods and Tsunamis

Floods and Tsunamis Flood is a natural event or occurrence where a piece of land that is usually dry land, suddenly gets submerged under water. Some floods can occur suddenly and recede quickly. Others take days or even months to build and discharge. When floods happen in an area that people live, the water carries along objects like houses, bridges, cars, furniture and even people. It can wipe away farms, trees and many more heavy items. Floods occur at irregular intervals and vary in size, duration and the affected area. It is important to note that water naturally flows from high areas to low lying areas. This means low-lying areas may flood quickly before it begins to get to higher ground. Flooding is extremely dangerous and has the potential to wipe away an entire city, coastline or area, and cause extensive damage to life and property

Pros and cons of sports

Pros and cons of sports I'm going to talk about advantages and disadvantages of sports. There are several really good reasons why to do sports but always there is something negative in every good thing you have to take into account. On the one hand, sports are really good for your health. Sporting keeps you fit and gives you dicipline. People who do not sport regularly have more illnesses and tend to be overweight. Also, doing sports even extends life and help reduce the feelings of sadness and depression. In addition to that, sporting keeps children busy. Nowadays a lot of kids tend to stupid things at their spare time so when they are doing anykind of sports it keeps them out of trouble and even away from TV and video games, that have really bad influence on their eyes, student achievement and may make them violent. Sport boosts their self confident, motivation and responsibility as well

What Pleases Me about Life in Estonia

Many peole have said, that they do not like living in Estonia. I am one of them, although many people have tried to persuade me to think otherwise. I have loved on both sides of Europe both on the eastern and on the northern part. But there are, of course, some advantages in living in Estonia, too. The first one is definately my family and friends. It is good to live in a country when you know, that you have your loved ones by your side. They can help you in every situation or even when you have nothing to do and you need some entertainment. Also, when your problems seem to grow over your head and you feel that you need to share them with someone. The second good thing about living in Estonia is the nature. We have many beautiful places in our amazing country the best example are the forests. In many European countries, the biggest forest you can find is the size if Hiiumaa, but half of our country is forests with many species of wild-animals.

A doll house

When Nora borrowed the bank loan from Krogstad to save Torvald's life, his reaction was instantly directed towards how he would look in society's eyes. He had previously said "when it counts, I have strength and courage enough as a man to take on the whole weight" (Ibsen 1129) of anything that would cause Nora harm. This is ironic because he fully intends to lay the blame on Nora, when she acted solely out of love. Also, when it came to firing Krogstad, Nora's opinion was not even consulted by Torvald as he was afraid of being judged by his co-workers for being "swayed by all kinds of outside pressure" (1129). Nora was only the wife, and her duties did not include input on any decisions. As Torvald was the owner of the home, and Nora was simply the doll, she was expected to be perfect and submissive to him. There are many references to Nora as his sky-lark or squirrel, that give the feeling that Nora is another child in this home. Her

Kriitika "Twilightile"

translated. But the hype was already building up in American social networking sites, and since the book was already being referred to as the ´´next Harry Potter´´, I obviously had to read it. It is somewhat embarrassing to admit, that at first, before giving much indepth thought about what was written between those pages, I was quite incredibly fascinated with ´´Twilight´´. I got so attached to the book that I couldn't even spare ten minutes to take a break in order to have something to eat or rest my eyes, when my vision got all blurry (it was an eBook). Eventually my best friend managed to lure me to her place (it took her much effort) and even then, I secretly downloaded the book to her computer and carried on reading, my only response to her chatter being an occasional glance, nod or ''mmh''. To someone, who obviously has a certain fondness for Twilight, not much explanation is
