Emergency situatsions, in case of fire

Emergency situatsions in case of fire · In the case of a small fire, a fire extinguisher can be used. However, you must already know how to use one, to be effective and timely enough for it to count. Keep yours in your kitchen, near enough to get to it quick, but not too close to the fire to reach it. Check it regurally to insure it would work properly if needed. · In the event of a larger fire, announce "FIRE!" loudly to everyone and gather all the people immediately and ask them to go out of the house via the nearest safe door or window. Do not re-enter the home! · If you are inside and don't know if there is fire on the other side of a door, test the door before you open it. To do this, kneel down to stay under the smoke levels. Reach up around half way up the door, and touch the door with the back of your hand. If there's a fire o...

and also the effect it had on people and the environment. A thorough analysis was done on several scientific works and articles. A lengthy documentary was also included in the analysis. The analyses established that a metal plate was missing from between two pipes in the Union Carbide Corporation in which water managed to reach the MIC tank. The chemical reaction between water and MIC caused a major temperature and pressure rise in the tank which allowed the toxic gas to escape from the emergency pipes. The gas was not neutralized, as the three fundamental emergency systems failed to work. The gas killed up to 10, 000 people in 3 days and approximately 35, 000 by 1994. The gas affected soil and water to the point that agriculture in Bhopal is unusable. In conclusion this demonstrates the need for consistent mainteance in pesticide plants, power plants and all ohter industrial plants. Corporations can not save money in the expense of safety, because there is always an intensive risk.

Credit cards - a blessing or a curse

Owning a credit card can be a very great thing. Whether buying things online, booking tickets or a hotel room or just needing some emergency cash, having a credit card can be really helpful. However, getting a credit card is also a huge responsibility and if you do not keep an eye on your spendings, you may get into some serious trouble. That raises a question- are credit cards a blessing or a curse? On one hand, credit cards are comfortable and easy to use and they can make buying things much less stressful, because you do not have to carry along huge amounts of cash. Besides,

Report: Use of mobile phones in school

Introduction This report explains why mobile phones are important for students, and makes recommendations about their use in the school. This information comes from several students and their parents. Why mobile phones are necessary 1 Some students chat in English and find this helpful. 2 It might be necessary to phone home if a student has transport problems. 3 Students' parents might need to contact them urgently if some other emergency have had occurred Recommendations Everyone agrees that mobile phones can be irritating but they can be extremely useful at times. Students should check that phones are switched off before classes start. We do not believe they should be banned. Kristjan Heinrand 12b

Kristofer Seppel et al. International Conference on Traffic & Transport Psychology. Tartu, University of Life Sciences, Language Centre, 2015. The articles were about person's driving reflexes, based on research of driver reaction time. The main object of this game was to find out your reflexes on the road to reaveal how 'old' you are between 18 and 90 years old. While the basic principles generalize to estimating other reaction times, the exact numbers do not. Each type of reaction time has its own pecularities that must be examined. For example, reaction time for a shooter who is tracking a target might be 0.4 second, but even this would be a function of trigger pull weight. The data revealed that range of factors seem to affect player's concentration. For example, the average reaction time of drivers is 10 percent faster than that of non- drivers, and those that slept for eight hours the night before the survey reported the fastest...

Conventional medicine has little to learn from alternative medicine

Conventional medicine has little to learn from alternative medicine. In our modern world more and more people look for alternative medicine instead of taking conventional treatment. Which of these treatments is better or can they both be used effectively in different cases? It is generally understood that when having a severe condition or an emergency, conventional treatment is strongly needed. For example, in a case of a heart attack or a severed limb, it is vital to find a way to a hospital or surgeon in a hurry. Unlike alternative medicine, conventional medicine has proven effectiveness and is scientifically based, while alternative medicine has a lack of scientific basis and its results are not always consistent. On the other hand, alternative medicine is better when having relatively mild condition, such

Living in the countryside – a pleasant experience or a never-ending hardship?

neighbours are far away. Also you lots of garden room and a lot more privacy than in the city. On the other hand living in the countryside can be hard. You have to do most of the chores by yourself. Secondly schools and stores are far. Driving back and forward every day may drive you crazy. Also you may start feeling lonely and that will make you sad. Also living in the countryside is more expensive than living in the city. In case of an emergency, firefighters and ambulance can´t reach you that easy. Living in the countryside can be good and also bad. Some people love being surrounded by nature, some people are more comfortable with a city life. At the end it is every persons own choice where he or she wants to live.

Buying on credit

disadvantages. First of the various utilities is space savings. It is very easy to carry on credit card in a purse because it takes less room than a bundle of dollar bills. Secondly, when we lose cash then it´s permanently gone but in case of missing credit card it is possible to cancel the bank account. Another important benefit is ability to handle expenses that might be out of one´s reach. In case of an emergency, such as car breakdown or illness, it is very useful. Despite of great advantages, people should keep in mind it`s downsides. A credit card leads people to unresponsible spending. Buying goods that are off someone´s limit causes problems with paying back the balance each month. It is possible in this kind of situation that people windup spending more than an item is really worth. Another negative side is credit card frauds.

The effects of mobile phones on our lives

Can you imagine our comfortable life without mobile phones? Wherever we go, we can see someone talking with their mobile phone. Mobile phones have become an indispensable part of our everyday life. Yet, have the changes they brought about really been for the better? To begin with, the benefits of mobile phones cannot be denied. On the one hand mobile phones are extremely useful communication tool. Mobile phones can help us wherever we need it. For example in an emergency, we may need help and mobile phone is a quick way to call for help. In addition mobile phones can be used for several tasks. For instance, if we want something to be captured we can use our mobile phones. They are equipped with a camera in consequence we can take pictures and videos and later watch them on our computer. As a result mobile phones are a way of entertainment. On the other hand mobile phones have their disadvantages. Moreover it was proved that

Home-reading'' The summoning''

The group of three had to find a safe place so Simon could find his father, who was also a sorcerer and could help them and give a place to stay. At the same time the nurses and men, who guarded the Lyle House, were searching for them. In some point of the journey the children split and the girls went to Chloe’s aunt, who she grew up with, but on the way there, Chloe got hurt and was losing a lot of blood. When they got there, her aunt took them to a nearby emergency hospital. In the end it turned out that her aunt Lauren knew all along that she could see, talk to and raise the dead from the underworld. When her aunt brought her to the emergency hospital they shot her with a sleeping drug. Once Chloe woke she found that she was in hotel in which she could not leave. Some time later they brought her food and wanted to talk to her but she didn’t listen and just nodded along to them. When the nurses left,

To Protect or not Protect Minor Languages

younger society, because in many jobs there is required to know a certain amount of English. In my opinion minor languages are the things that make small countries differ from other countries and that is something that people can be proud of. That is a major thing that brings nations closer together and makes people friendlier to each other. It is always nice to see Estonian speakers in foreign countries. It makes you feel safe and secure, when you know that in case of emergency, the people that speak the same language stick together, because that is an instinct of survival for the mankind and if we changed that we might lose all the years of hard work, that have been put to developing the art of speech, but if we can manage the loss of languages and agree on one language, then that might not be a bad idea after all.

Travelling

It is travelling on foot. Walking tours are very interesting. Hitch-hiking is a very popular method of travelling among young people. But it is not so popular in our country as abroad. Whether we like it or not, at some point most people will have to deal with some kind of unexpected situation while travelling abroad. Situations that arise can be quite varied; from less pressing problems such as losing your luggage or getting lost, to bigger problems such as running out of money or a health emergency. In this situations you must stay calm. Take time to assess the problem and come up with a plan, and only then should you begin to act.

Life in town vs Life in the country

but in the Country it doesn't matter what people wear. Although life in the Country is easier , it has its own negative sides like: unemployment, establishment will be closed, distress services are hardly available. Usually people prefer to live in the Town, because in the Country don't have job or it is dfficult to find it. Many schools, post offices and store will be closed, because there aren't enough people who will need it. If in the Country should be happen any emergency, it will takes time to deal the situation, which put people to worry. Life in Town is completely different. For example : huge shopping centres, better chance to get a job and crime. Huge shopping centres locate in Town, because population is bigger than in the Country. In Town there are lot of opportunities to get a job, unlike in the Country. Violence and crime is popular in Town, although in the Country it is possible too.

Estonian Defence League

Estonian Defence League In this world, different people like different things. Some people are into dancing, but some people are into war games and military things. For those, who like the last ones, there is a special organisation, that raises love to our home country in young people. Estonian Defence League even protects our country in case of a war or emergency. It has and always will be free and open to all of those, who are even a little bit interested in it. The Estonian Defence League was preceded in 1918 by Estonia's first armed home defence organisation: The Citizens' Defence Organisation (Omakaitse) against the public disorder accompanying the Russian Revolution. On 11 November in 1918 the Citizens' Defence Organisation was renamed the Estonian Defence League which performed the tasks of a national guard in the War of Independence

WHAT IS A LOAN AGREEMENT?

Borrowers do not worry about loan terms and installments, especially if they have agreed to repay the loan once the project starts making profits. Borrowers make small payments from time to time, but repayment usually takes place when the venture turns profits. Lenders also benefit from demand loans, as they are both lucrative and secure. The longer it takes the borrower to repay the loan, the more they owe in interest. Demand loans are also secure in case of emergency, the lender can demand repayment rather than wait until a set maturity date. The same is true if they believe there is a chance the borrower falls on hard times or are avoiding repayment. A demand loan is also a good choice of lenders who want to minimize potential losses. Lenders can demand payments if they suspecting that the borrower will undertake projects resulting in losses. ADVANTAGES FOR BUSINESSES Business ventures benefit from demand loans.

Cernobyl Disaster

buried about a square mile of pine forest near the plant to reduce radioactive contamination at and near the site. Chernobyl’s three other reactors were subsequently restarted but all eventually shut down for good, with the last reactor closing in 1999. The Soviet nuclear power authorities presented their initial accident report to an International Atomic Energy Agency meeting in Vienna, Austria, in August 1986. Elimination of the consequences • Emergency crews responding to the accident used helicopters to pour sand and boron on the reactor debris. The sand was to stop the fire and additional releases of radioactive material; the boron was to prevent additional nuclear reactions. A few weeks after the accident, the crews completely covered the damaged unit in a temporary concrete structure, called the “sarcophagus,” to limit further release of radioactive material. • After the accident, officials closed off the area

I maailmasõja mõjud USA-le: a) soodne turg sõja ajal. Varustas sõdivaid Entente`i riike b) soodne mõju USA rahandusele · enne sõda oli USA Euroopale võlgu · sõja ajal tasus USA senised võlad toodanguga · Euroopa riigid jäid talle võlgu c) kujunes pärast sõda majanduses juhtivaks riigiks (USA-s elas 6 % maailma rahvastikust, kuid tootis 60 % naftast ja 40 % terasest). Majanduslik võimsus tõstis ka USA poliitilist autoriteeti maailmas. See ilmnes selgelt sõjajärgse Euroopa ümberkujundamises: · Wilsoni 14 punkti (pidi tagama demokraatia ja õiglase rahu ...
