Referaat Islami usust

Muslims view Muhammad as the restorer of the original, uncorrupted monotheistic faith of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. In Muslim tradition, Muhammad is viewed as the last in a series of prophets. For the last 22 years of his life, beginning at age 40 in 610 CE, Muhammad started receiving revelations from God. The content of these revelations, known as the Qur'an, was memorized and recorded by his companions. During this time, Muhammad preached to the people of Mecca, imploring them to abandon polytheism. Although some converted to Islam, Muhammad and his followers were persecuted by the leading Meccan authorities. After 12 years of preaching, Muhammad and the Muslims performed the Hijra ("emigration") to the city of Medina in 622. There, with the Medinan converts and the Meccan migrants, Muhammad established his political and religious authority

Lebel and the Jackal

Duggan, Per Jensen, Marty Schulberg, Andre Martin and Charles Calthrop. That shows that he was indeed a very clever man, he saw everything coming and thought ahead. He was very assured and he knew, what he was doing, he had it all figured out on his mind. He was, as a human, actually quite nice to some people, but he could not let anyone to interrupt his task, otherwise he killed them. The Jackal had to make many difficult decisions during the hunt, what were a matter of life and death and he always chose the one, which let him live. I think that in his private life he was very handsome and gentlemanlike. He tried not to link his private life and work, but in one case he did and that nearly cost his life. The Jackal's personality was doubled - first was what he was like at work and the other in his normal life, the last one is based on my opinion. He was very persevering and earnest during he was at work, but caring when not.

The Second officer looks after the navigational equipment and acts as the doctor on board. And the Chief Officer will look after the shipboard maintenance and cargo operation on board. Should the ship enter or leave ports, you may be required to work twelve hours a day depending upon the type of ship’s contract. During the off duty time, you are free to do anything as you want, but you will seldom actually complete your rank duties during shifts, so you will actually have to over-work after those. It will depend on which type of ship you are sailing with. From time to time, you will fly really far to join ships by plane, depending upon which company you work with. Practicing you will get head to head with difficulties and become a professional. In conclusion, I want to say, that to me, this job is worth studying and working hard. It is actually more than a few reasons why I choose it. It is just what I think, I should do.

Letter travelling description

My dear Rashmi, I received your letter a week ago. I am sorry, I could not write to you earlier as I was but of station. During the winter break, I had a chance to visit Kolkata along with my uncle. I hope, my description of the visit of that great city will be a source of pleasure for you. It was my first visit to Kolkata. We stayed there with a friend of my father. He was a kind host. He took me round some important places of the city. Kolkata is a very big place. The streets of Kolkata are full, of the crowds of people. There is such great rush-of traffic that at first I felt quite confused. Kolkata is a city of fine streets. I liked the Chawranghee most of all. On one side it is lined by tall buildings and on the other by the maidan. The maidan is a great open park where large numbers of people assemble to spend their sweet evenings. In Kolkata there are many places worth-seeing. I saw the Government House, Fort William, the Mus...

from them, should be treated. The results from the investigation in Finland show that suffering animals are not an exception but a rule in Finnish animal production. Also this material shows that animal suffering is an inseparable part of the production- animals are seen as products and commodities instead of sentient beings. First step to aspire after the wellbeing of productive animals is to raise the awareness of people about how the farm animals are treated during the intense manufacturing. So people and organisations that have already realised the seriousness of this problem have set their sights on showing people that we should care about animals and we as consumers can help to solve the problem. Agriculturalists can treat animalt better and everyone of us can help by avoiding mass production. People who revealed the reality of Finnish factory farming have the attitude that everyone of us should have

savages who painted their faces, hunted and were willing to kill each other. For example in the third chapter all boys are still civilised and enjoy the beauty of the island when Simon finds this magical open place in the jungle that represents the innocence that still exists on the island. Then in chapter eight when Simon visits this jungle glade again he finds a sow's head on the stake there. The fact how this setting changed during five chapters is described in a quote from chapter eight ,,The other time the air had seemed to vibrate with heat; but now it threatened." Simon's secret place had turned from unearthy paradise into something terrifying and that also symbolised how the boys had become savages already. Without noticing the natural cruelty inside them developed, savagery instincts emerged and most of them stopped caring about civilisation.

Forestry and the forest industry in Japan

On the other hand, natural forest is defined as forest other than artificial forest, including virgin forest and secondary forest. Table 3.2 shows that the share of artificial forest in private forests has been higher than in the total forest area since 1946. This suggests that private sector planting has been more active than public sector planting in the prewar and postwar periods. In summary, forest managers in Japan aggressively converted natural forest to artificial forest during the first two decades of the postwar period, and thereafter have maintained forest resources so that growing stock has increased rapidly over the last three decades. ---------------------- According to annual data published by the Forestry Agency, the area reforested from natural to artificial forest constituted more than 150 000 ha annually for private forestry between 1960 and 1970. This means that more than 1% of private forests were cut and planted every year during the decade.

At the beginning of March in 1916, Colonel Aleksandr Jaron, who was responsible for the construction works, sent 11 local and foreign companies calls for proposals for designing these hangars, which were then modestly referred to as reinforced concrete sheds. The deadlines were quite short due to the ongoing World War and bids were already expected by the end of March. Construction was set to start during the period of April 15th and June 1st, 1916. However, things did not go so smoothly and the successful project was chosen in the course of negotiations held on April 29th. The winning project was submitted by a Danish company, Christiani & Nielsen (project manager Herluf Trolle Forchhammer and constructor Sven Schulz) and it comprised of three shell concrete domes with a general plan of 50x100 meters. It was originally built in the 17th century, during the time of Swedish rule, when king Charles XI commissioned the construction of a church for the Estonian and Finnish population in 1670. At first it was wooden and not very large, built in a Greek cross style. Traditionally, the church was named after the king that built it. ISLAM

In Islam, the normative example of Muhhamad's life is called the Sunnah. This example is preserved in traditions known as hadith, which recount his words, his actions, and his personal characteristics. The Sunnah is seen as crucial to guiding interpretation of the Koran. For Muslims is also remarkable to believe in the ,,Day of Resurrection", Yawm al-Quiyamah. They believe the timee of Qiyamah is preordained by God but unkown to man. The trials and tribulations preceding and during the Qiyamah are described in the Koran and the hadith, and also in the commentaries of scholars. The Koran emphazises bodily resurecction, a break from the pre-Islamic Arabian understanding of death. On Yawm al-Qiyamah, Muslims believe all mankind will be judged on their good and bad deeds. The Koran lists several sins that can condemn a person to hell, such as disbelief in God, and dishonesty, however, the Koran makes it clear God will forgive the sins of those who repent if he so wills

coastal areas, sailing far up the rivers in search of loot. The need for a stronger system of defenses against such marauders gradually led to an increase in the power of the local rulers and their vassals, the nobles, who were largely a warrior class. Concurrently, the towns began to grow in importance, as artisans and merchants settled in them and improved their defenses. The gradual development of powerful towns was a notable feature of Dutch history during the 12th, 13th, and 14th centuries, and the area became an important trading centre. Under the leadership of wealthy merchants the towns began to challenge the power of the nobles who ruled the countryside. The merchants often supported the regional ruler in his campaigns against unruly vassals, at the same time exacting from him privileges designed to promote commerce and to strengthen the town and the position of the merchant class. The Persian architect, Ustad Ahmad Lahauri is generally considered to be the principal designer of the Taj Mahal. Merde Actually

Merde Actually By Stephen Clarke "Merde Actually" is written by Stephen Clarke, who is a British journalist and a novelist living in Paris. When he first arrived in Paris, he experienced a cultural shock and got inspired by it. He started to keep a diary of his experiences and decided to publish it as a novel when the Anglo-French relationships were at their worst during the Iraq War spring 2003. Therefore his novels (he has written three in this series) have become enormously popular all around the world, especially because they are partly true. Stephen Clarke himself still lives in Paris with his French girlfriend. This novel is considered to be seriously funny and a comedy with a message. "Merde Actually" has one main character whose name is Paul West, but there are also many other significant characters, that come from the previous book "A Year in the Merde"

Scotland

Great Britain, and the subsequent Scottish Enlightenment and Industrial Revolution, Scotland became one of the commercial, intellectual and industrial powerhouses of Europe. Its industrial decline following the Second World War was particularly acute, but in recent decades the country has enjoyed something of a cultural and economic renaissance, fuelled in part by a resurgent financial services sector, the proceeds of North Sea oil and gas, and latterly a devolved parliament. Scotland during the Roman Empire ! Scotland during the Roman Empire encompasses a period of time that is both part of genuine history and of protohistory. It is complicated by the fact that although the Roman Empire influenced every part of Scotland during the period from the arrival of the legions in c. AD 71 to their departure in 213 their occupation was neither complete nor continuous and that the idea of both "Scots" and of "Scotland" as a discrete entity did not emerge until many centuries later.

Lühike jalg - ajalugu, müüdid(inglise keeles)

The relations between the Upper and Lower towns were pretty tense, because both the rich merchants of the Lower Town and the noblemen and knights of the Upper Town wanted to obtain more power. Due to the conflict between the two Towns the merchants in the Lower Town were afraid of raids from the Upper town and they had the street connecting the two Towns fortified with a wall and gatehouses. The new wall has become known as "the Wall of Mistrust". During night all traffic between the Upper and Lower town was stopped and the gates were closed. Two streets that connect Toompea with the lower town, remind us human legs, and that is where they got their names Long and Short Foot. But as the "legs" where with different heights, so Tallinn was sometimes called the "limping city". Pikk Foot connects the lower town with Toompea. Me and languages. To begin with, language is a congrecation of thoughts and feelings through a system of signals, such as voice sounds, gestures, or written symbols. Communication or language is a process every child learns from birth and during our life we will usually learn many different languages. Due to the fact that both of my parents are Estonians , my mother tongue is Estonian, therefore I can speak and write in it very fluently. I also prefer read the books in Estonian. I know that some people like to do it in some other languages, in English for instance. I am really amused by the Estonian literature. I like to read books and stories from Andrus Kivirähk and F.R. I think giving away the title on everyday news has decreased the number of possible real heroes who would go to war in case needed or risk their own life for someone's else's etc. I feel like the real heroes have died out and the only ones we are left are fictional. Another thing that has changed during centuries is the motivation of a hero. It used to be about simply doing something good for others or helping out your nation but nowadays it has become more personal. In almost all of modern heroic movies or stories there is a love interest (usually a she). Generally she is a beautiful fit woman to whom the hero falls in love with, sometimes at first sight (for example Batman). During the beginning of their relationship

February 24: Independence Day The Republic of Estonia was founded on February 24, 1918 when the Salvation Committee, Päästekomitee, declared the independence of the Republic of Estonia. This date was celebrated as the Day of Independence until the Soviet occupation of Estonia in 1940. During the Soviet occupation, the Independence Day was festively celebrated in Estonian communities around the world. Every year, the US Secretary of State sent greetings on the occasion to the Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to the United States, Ernst Jaakson. On February 24, 1989, the red flag of Soviet Estonia was replaced by the blue-black-white Estonian national flag on Toompea and since that time the Independence Day has been celebrated as a public holiday again

Pet therapy

mentally disturbed people with chickens, rabbits and goats. At a time when people were usually punished for strange behavior rather than helped, this was a radical new approach to treating the mentally disturbed. Tuke's idea was that patients could learn self-control by caring for creatures weaker than themselves.  This is an idea which has persisted. In New York, horses, cows, cats and dogs were recruited to heal soldiers who had been wounded during World War II. These animals comforted the traumatized and helped the battle-scarred to avoid becoming obsessed with their injuries.  During the 1970's, scientific interest was rekindled by a study that had originally set out to examine the connection between social conditions and heart disease. Quite by chance, researchers discovered that the survival rate of people who owned a pet was significantly greater than those who didn't

The City on London

the past. Products such as olive oil, wines and fruit were brought by ships from different parts of the Roman Empire and unloaded onto wooden quays along the river. In AD 61 the native Celtic Iceni tribe, led by Queen Boudicca, rose up against The Romans. They burnt Londinium to the ground but Roman armies eventually defeated Boudicca. The city was rebuilt and was gradually surrounded with a wall of stone and brick which lasted for many centuries. During the archeological excavations in 1954 the Roman Temple of Mithras was revealed. It was a pagan temple dedicated to the Persian Sun-god. The Temple was later reconstructed only a short way from its original site and the relics are displayed in the Museum of London in the Barbican. At the end of the fourth century AD the Roman Empire began to crumble and the Roman armies were recalled from Britain to defend Rome itself. Once they had left Anglo-Saxons invaded and settled in Britain

Estonia

Estonia's land. After the Livonian War (1558-1583) the northern part of Estonia went under Swedish control, the southern part belonged to Poland and the islands to Denmark. Only in1629 the whole mainland Estonia became subject to Sweden. Under Swedish rule the University of Tartu was founded in 1632 and also the oldest school working on the same premises was founded in Tallinn (GAG).After the Northern War (1700-1721) Estonia became a province of Russia. During that period the gentry of Baltic-German origin prevailed in Estonia. They kept estates in Estonia until 1919. Under Russian rule the Palace of Kadriorg was built and the park was laid out. The National Awakening in the middle of the 19th century brought rapid advances in the Estonian education system, general living conditions and culture. The national epic "Kalevipoeg" was published, theatre and music societies appeared and the 1st Song Festival was held in Tartu in 1869

At the invitation of Wassily Kandinsky, Delaunay joined The Blue Rider (Der Blaue Reiter), a Munich-based group of abstract artists, in 1911, and his art took a turn for the abstract. The outbreak of World War I found Delaunay and his wife vacationing in Spain, and they settled with friends in Portugal for the duration of the conflict. During this period, the couple took on several jobs designing costumes for the Madrid Opera, and Sonia Delaunay started a fashion design business. After the war, in 1921, they returned to Paris. Delaunay continued to work in a mostly abstract style. During the 1937 World Fair in Paris, Delaunay participated in the design of the railway and air travel pavilions. When World War II erupted, the Delaunays moved to the Auvergne, in an effort to avoid the invading German forces. Suffering from

Holiday time My holiday began from a class trip to Tartu. There we visited the Estonian National Defence College. Afterwards, I took a bus ride to Tallinn, where I spent the rest of my holiday. Due to my brother moving house, I had to help him out with that. The majority of the work involved stacking firewood from one shed to another, whilst sorting it out to dried and raw. During free time, we went shopping into different shopping centres. I left Tallinn on Saturday, so I would have a day to prepare for school.

THE HISTORY OF JOURNALISM

down in real time. A "Journalist" can write today about events that happened yesterday or a week ago. Definition of "Ancient Journalism" is any historian who wrote about events in his own lifetime, IF he recorded those events within a year or less after they happened, or finished happening. Here are some examples of ancient journalism: Nicolas of Damascus - chief advisor to King Herod the Great, Nicolas also wrote the history of those days during Herod's life. (The work is mostly lost, but Josephus relied on it as a source.) Nicolas wrote from 14 to 4 BC, relying on his own current, ongoing experience and Herod's memoirs. Julius Caesar - not a king (yet) and he wrote it himself, but he chronicled his Gallic Wars and Civil Wars in true journalistic fashion. Also, Caesar did it deliberately to provide source material for future historians. About "nowadays" journalism:

"Roof of the World". In the history of Tibet, it has been an independent country, divided into different countries, and a part of China each for a certain amount of time. Tibet was first unified under King Songtsän Gampo in the seventh century. A government nominally headed by the Dalai Lamas, a line of spiritual leaders, ruled a large portion of the Tibetan region at various times from the 1640s until 1950s. During most of this period, the Tibetan administration was subordinate to the Chinese empire of the Qing Dynasty. The 13th Dalai Lama proclaimed Tibet independent in 1913, but this declaration was not accepted by China. Furthermore, Tibet was not recognized by any country as a de jure independent nation. As a measure of the power that regents must have wielded, it is important to note that only three of the fourteen
