Modern Hero

glorified by his family (in case they were still alive at the end of the story). It used to take a long journey and a fascinating victory to be recognized as a hero but nowadays it has become much easier. We give the title "hero" away much faster and there is actually no surprise to that- there aren't really any monsters left to fight or people to fight them. For example we share the title every evening on TV news (TV3 Eestimaa uhkus) to people who have done a good act. It has both-cons and pluses. The pluses are that showing people their deeds should encourage others to help out in case possible but in the other hand giving away the title too easily ruins its meaning. If all you need is one act of goodness to be a hero, then why bother yourself any more? I think giving away the title on everyday news has decreased the number of possible real heroes who would go to war in case needed or risk their own life for someone's else's etc

The Picture of Dorian Gray

Movie was well done. None too big cuts. All good quotations were present but it felt to me that in some places they were a bit too forced (crammed together). Alltogether I liked the movie and it gave away the meaning of the book pretty well. The storyteller explaines in the beginning that Harry likes to play with people. Not good. The novel has no reference to Dorian being painted with an Egyptian goddess shaped like a cat who could grant his wish, as the film has. Appears throughout the whole movie. Girls signs the painting- Glaidis, Basils niece. Dorian stole her heart. Also important in later recognising the corpse. In Wilde's original, Sybil Vane is a Shakespearean actress whom Dorian observes playing Juliet, rather than the gifted dance-hall singer seen in this film. This necessitates altering Dorian's motive for breaking up with her. In the novel, her acting has become shallow as a result of really falling in love with Dorian,...

Rail jams are done in a small area, usually with two or three choices of features for the rider to hit on a run. Racing- The racing events are slalom, giant slalom, and super G. In slalom, boarders race downhill through sets of gates that force extremely tight turns, requiring plenty of technical skill as well as speed.Giant slalom uses a much longer course with gates set further apart, resulting in even higher speeds. Choir singing is very popular in Estonia, because it's big part of our culture. I take part of student representive and drama group ,,X". I'm also participant in several youth projects, which include integrating national minorities and giving information about healthcare. About the sport, I used to take part of swimming trainings, but this year training times don't fit for me, so I'm going to swim and gym on my own twice a week. I'm also into skiing, but this sport can be done only in winter. We have really good skiing tracks in X, so I try to use them as much as I can. My summer-sport is camping. I like all kind of camping trips: on foot, with bike, with canoe. I enjoy camping, because of the wonderful nature of Estonia. In school my favorite subject is Math. All my hobbies are made even better by friends, who I do them with. In the winter at the weekends we ususally go to someones place with friends and watch movie or play cards there

Lessons for the future

Times change and education, as one of the most important areas of our society, needs constant reforming. Nowadays, the main focus seems to be on subjects like maths, physics, chemistry etc. because of current IT-era demands more knowledge in those regions than in humanities. I agree that Estonia's government's steps towards making maths and physics our school- system's top priority is quite right, but I think that there can be a lot more done to improve our educational structure. I find that Estonian schools should pay more attention to teaching our children current state in our political landscape. Kids, who go to school, are our future and soon-to-be full- right voters in national elections. They will become old and independent enough to be a part of deciding process over their country's future. So, it is very important that they would know

with their injuries.  During the 1970's, scientific interest was rekindled by a study that had originally set out to examine the connection between social conditions and heart disease. Quite by chance, researchers discovered that the survival rate of people who owned a pet was significantly greater than those who didn't. At first, they treated these findings with suspicion, but the more research that was done, the more conclusive the proof became. People with pets really were living longer.  It was discovered that stroking a cat or dog lowers a human being’s blood pressure and reduces anxiety. Just having an animal around you can lower your heart rate. Cats and dogs aren't the only pets that can help you to relax either. A dental school in America has discovered that gazing at fish in a tank helps patients relax before undergoing dental treatment.

After graduation

Mait Rõõmus Mr. Savala English 4 26 September 2013 Prompt #3 We all have to make a decision about what to do with our lives after graduating from high school. Many people start to think about it in their early years. Some of us struggle with it even after graduating. Lucky are those who have had a specific goal in mind for long enough where they can keep an eye on the target and know what they need to do and work on it right away. Aviation has always been one of my biggest intrests since the eighth grade. I became interested in it after my brother had applied to the Estonian Aviation Academy. Unfortunately he did not make it and, of course, my desire to become an air traffic controller began to increase due to my brother's failure. I have never really had a real experience in aviation. Also then you have problems, but only the ones generated at school. Childhood has many responsibilities, some we like, some we have to do and some we despise. Responsibilities some of us enjoy doing is homework. We get a sense of pleasure after finishing a piece of work that we have done to the best of our ability. Cleaning our rooms is a responsibility we must do both for hygienic and ,if I don't I will get punished, reasons. A responsibility we despise doing is anything that clashes with our free/play time. These are just some of the things in childhood that we are responsible for. First ten years are full of joy and happiness and 10-20 there is 1st love, first date, first car. There ar several movements, conferences, brotherhoods and fraternities everywhere the planet that promotes the thought of world peace. Philosophers, theologians, politicians, and different nice thinkers from the past up to this have offered numerousformulas and concepts for achieving peace however nobody has nevertheless came up with a solid answer to the question. Why is world peace thus troublesome to achieve? maybe the solution lies inside our self. What have we have a tendency to done to create the planet a higher place to measure in? however have we have a tendency totreated our brothers and our neighbors? If we glance at the philosophies and teachings of nice men and also thevariety of world peace movements that have up out of obscurity, the problem assumes even a lot of layers and textures than the first plan. Summary

Summary In this summary I will analyse three articles on the topic of whether it is justified and morally right to use drone warfare in the tribal areas of Pakistan and in Gaza. To begin, we do not know if the drones have done more harm or good in the tribal areas of Pakistan. Most of the information about drone attacks is coming from dubious Pakistan media, which we cannot seriously rely on. Hence, we cannot be sure if the persons killed by drones were innocent civilians or extremists. (Fair, 2013) One the one hand, using drones can be more discriminate, because they hover over the enemy for hours and wait for the perfect moment to attack, when there are no innocent people who might get injured

A lamb to the slaughter

She loved intent, far look in his eyes when they rested in her, the funny shape of the mouth, and especially the way he remained silent about his tiredness, sitting still with himself until the whiskey had taken some of it away. "Tired darling?" "Yes," he said. "I'm tired," And as he spoke, he did an unusual thing. He lifted his glass and drained it in one swallow although there was still half of it, at least half of it left. She wasn't really watching him, but she knew what he had done because she heard the ice cubes falling back against the bottom of the empty glass when he lowered his arm. He paused a moment, leaning forward in the chair, then he got up and went slowly over to fetch himself another. "I'll get it!" she cried, jumping up. "Sit down," he said. When he came back, she noticed that the new drink was dark amber with the quantity of whiskey in it. "Darling, shall I get your slippers?" "No."

In frustration she reverses out of her parking space without looking and nearly reverses into another car. She sees Edward laughing at her.

The social network

was invented. But by now, we have searched the internet, watched the magnificent movie and bought books titled similarly and can tell many interesting facts about our biggest entertainer. Even if the movie were not based on a real story and would have been made up, it would be a masterpiece in any case. Of course the topic is common which makes the movie more interesting and exciting for us. The director David Fincher has done a great job by not trying to force some characters to the audience. He wants us to draw a conclusion and pick a side, not the film. Which is a clever thought forming many discussions on the movie. It is the year 2003, Mark Zuckerberg and his girlfriend are breaking up in a bar. Moving on, we see clearly the thoughtless of Mark as he hurts people with just words. From now on we realize that our leading character will not be so likable and his need for acceptance is quite irritating

Ireland

traditional music tended to fall out of favour, especially in urban areas. During the 1960s, and inspired by the American folk music movement, there was a revival of interest in the Irish tradition. This revival was led by such groups as The Dubliners, The Chieftains, the Clancy Brothers, Sweeney's Men, and individuals like Seán Ó Riada and Christy Moore. Irish and Scottish traditional music share some similar characteristics. The Republic of Ireland has done well in the Eurovision Song Contest, being the most successful country in the competition, with seven wins. In the 20th century, Irish architecture followed the international trend towards modern, sleek and often radical building styles, particularly after independence in the first half of the century. New building materials and old were utilised in new ways to maximise style, space, light and energy efficiency.

Overfishing

These methods have a large impact on the basic functioning of our marine ecosystems (ikousistem). These unselective fishing practices and gear cause tremendous destruction on non target (taaged) species. Bycatch and discards and bottom trawling destruction are two examples of this. WHY IS OVERFISHING A PROBLEM?: To explain why overfishing is a problem we first have to get an idea on the scale of the problem. This is best done by looking at repord published by the Food and Agriculture Organization scientists. The above shows that over 25% of all the world's fish stocks are either overexploited or depleted (dipliitid). Another 52% is fully exploited, these are in imminent danger of overexploitation and collapse (kollaaps). Therefore a total of almost 80% of the world's fisheries are fully to over exploited, depleted, or in a state of collapse

Through the course and students spare time, many cultural events, narrow circle of performances and exhibitions are done in the area by the students. Biogas – The source of future energy

............. Introduction To be honest I got the list of topics after most interesting ones for me were taken. At first I was not very satisfied with my topic but then I realized that this could be actually really interesting thing to make a report of. I chose this particular topic because I have always been interested in green energy. This topic gave me an excellent opportunity to improve my knowledge about these kinds of things. For me this report is a great challenge because I have not done anything like this before, especially in English. Primary goal for me is to improve my knowledge about renewable energy and also usage of English language. This report is going to talk about biogas. It provides a brief review of usage and future prospects of the biogas. I have tried to make this report as understandable as possible. By the end of this report I want to come to a conclusion whether biogas is the best source of future energy or are there any other sources that are better.

Coca-Cola roll rahvusvahelises majanduspoliitikas

Role in IPE Coca-Cola's role in international political economy is undoubtedly very great. There are not too many beverage companies that can compete with Coca-Cola and therefore it has the ruling position on international level of beverage companies. Coca-Cola company has a great power to change many factors that are important in the beverage industry. This means that in today's globalized world Coca-Cola has a lot of trailblazing work done and to do. For example the introduction of the new renewable and recyclable plastic bottle in 2009 which made many similar companies to follow the lead because the health of the planet is important to many people and therefore big companies have to be more planet friendly because otherwise many people would not buy their products and buy something more economically friendly, in this case Coca-Cola. That shows how one company can be a gamechanger to other companies and

Pride and Prejudice Book report

novel. I like the way she talks about the characters so prolixly and they were somehow still jolly. I did not like the character of Darcy in the beginning, because I thought it was too strict and was not humorous at all. But in the end I thought he is a really good man for Elizabeth. I would definitely recommend this book to others too, because this book gives you an unforgettable experience. In conclusion, I would like to say that Jane Austen has done a really good work and this classical romantic novel is marvellous.
