Wonders of the Modern World

It makes possible to do so many things, of what humankind half a century ago couldn't even dream of. It's only a matter of time, when there will be even more interactivity between the user and the website, like for example allowing us to give instructions to the website using speech. Second wonder in modern world would be space travel. Since Neil Armstrong stepped out of his space capsule onto the surface of the moon in 1969, there have been many space probes to several different planets and even to the sun. So far, there has not been found any intelligent life in the universe, but who knows what the future holds. International travel is also something that has changed the modern world. People can now easily travel from one end of the world to another, in quite a short time too. It is estimated that, at any one time these days, there are as many people travelling in aero planes

People these days are thinking less and drinking more

with an alcohol bottle. Secondly, we should tell them that they have got supportive friends whom they can rely on. Another suggestion is that the media should not promote drinking. Commercials are very effective with teenagers because commercials are very colourful and memorable. Also, when teenagers see some beautiful advertisement with lots of people who are having a party with drinks they want to be like them. What is more, these commercials teach them that a party is more fun with different alcoholic drinks. Finally, different clubs and pubs security guards should ask more effectively for documents to prove the age of the visitors. Too many teenagers are visiting clubs because they can get in easily. When security guards ask for documents then youngsters are not able to get any alcohol because shops are also closed by the time. All things considered, media should not promote drinking and people have to think more carefully before they take their alcohol bottle

Different lectures started after the sixth lesson. There were more lectures, but unfortunately I couldn't attend them all. The themes of lectures were very interesting. Firstly, the lecture that was carried out by our local general practitioner. She talked about health in general and about the right diet. Predictably, 74% of the questioned British students approved school uniform, which was expected, because school uniforms are more wide-spread in British schools than in Estonian schools. CORPORAL PUNISHMENT ISSUE That topic also, surprised. All of questioned Estonian students disapproved the use of corporal punishment. 62% of the questioned British students agreed to corporal punishment. The results were one end to another. That shows clearly, how different the education systems of Estonia and the United Kingdom are. CONCLUSION This reports shows us, how different the educational systems of Estonia and Britain really are. I would prefer the Estonian educational system over Britain’s, but the only reason is that I am an Estonian, if I were British I would most definitely choose British educational system. That’s why overweight wasn’t a problem back then. Their foodtable was more various because they ate everything what was edible and available in nature. Nowadays it’s very popular that people eat junkfood and different products that are full of chemicals, sugars and fat. And if they don’t move it’s easy to get overweighted. One of the main problems why humans are unhealthy is not drinking enough water. You can buy many different flavoured drinks nowadays that are full of artificial colours and sugars. The advantages and disadvantages of an internet.

Whereas uploading news to the computer network is very fast, is the internet better than TV shows or radio. Secondly is an internet the biggest infomation resource, where you can find almost anything you need. The third point is wide opportunity of communicating with other people. For instance you may use different programs such as skype or MSN Messenger. Nonetheless has the internet many disadvantages too. Namely has the computer network so many different distractions, such as games, chatting, music or movies that many people spend all their spare time sitting in front of computer. Chatting and communicating frequently through the internet may make us unsocial in real life moreover people often say things and act in the computer networks in the way they would never do in real life. In summary I would say that internet has both positive and negative sides, in my opinion it is just

Healthy Life

My sister practices swimming and soccer three times a week, including she rides with a bike. My mother bought herself a fitness machine; she uses it twice a week. My father also goes to fitness centre, rides with a bike and runs three times a week. In our family there is only me, who workout with my brain instead to do physical exercises. In addition, my grandparents are not capable to workout; they are too old for that as they say. In my family, many people do different activities. Running, skating, boxing, soccer, icehockey and dancing are the most popular. A few friends of mine do workouts. Andre, Madis and Kristiina practice dancing, Brit works out, Diana plays tennis, Eili and Airi play soccer, Steven and Egert go in self defense. However, many friends are like me. They rest after school behind the computer. Healthy lifestyle does not mean that we always have to workout; we also have to eat healthy

Agreeing & disagreeing

6.1 Expressing complete disagreement In my opinion, fashion is a complete waste of time, money and resources. I disagree entirely. The world would be a boring place without change. In my view, government money shouldn't be used to support the Arts. I'm afraid I can't agree. Public support for the Arts is the hallmark of a civilized society. Surely, the technology for all this isn't going to be very user-friendly. On the contrary. There'll be different levels of user-friendliness for different users. .... it's impossible to generalize about why people prefer married to single status. Rubbish! It must be possible to compare living together with someone to living on your own. What about the question of independence? 6.2 Using irony to express disagreement Besides, the production lines are often highly mechanized. Come off it! Agriculture in the Third World is still fairly labour intensive.

Local people also get more options how to be more successful in making money because in popular tourist areas they can start their own business, such as, shops, cafes, pubs, hotels, tent camps and so on. In addition, thanks to the money spent by tourists, local authorities have funds to maintain different buildings and places like, for example, libraries or parks and to restore monuments and other objects of histoical value. An additional advantage of mass tourism is mixing of cultures and habits, for example, many different food cultures and clothing styles are spreading all over the world. Sense and sensibility

Men`s had a big role in society. Men`s had all the important jobs. Better-paid jobs where : politician, lawyer and to go army and get rich. Men`s free time activities where mostly :hunting, cricket and card games. In this time the people where very polite with each other, especially high-class . They always greeted each other and they where well-educated. The relationship with both side where also good. Mostly the different people classes didn´t communicate with each other, because they had different manners. Nowadays men`s and women`s are equal to each other, but in nowadays people could be nicer and politer to each other. Today people have still the same free time activities but also there is now a lot of other acticities. In movie where also talking lot about feelings. Marianne always tought with her hearth, but her sister elinor tought always how would be best to both side. In my opinion people must think with mind and they also should not forget thinking with hearth. ,

We have so many different cultures from different places put into a little place all together that I could almost say we are a huge city not a country. I would not leave here, but if I had an opportunity to choose which country I would like to visit, I definitely would choose Australia. But why Australia? Australia is located in the Pacific ocean and it's sixth country in the world for it's size. This country doesn't have an official language, but it's national language is English. Schools should provide computers for every student In recent times, captious opinion has appeared referring the use of computers by adolescents and children in education at the primary and high school levels. Internet has become an essential tool for many students. A lot of students like doing researches on their own computers at home, while doing homework or discovering something new for themselves. High school students are often asked to write different essays, letters of reviews on topics they have been studying at school. In addition not all of them have time to deal with homework at home. So if school gave them computers, they could use their free time during breaks to do essential things for their education. Or if school allowed to take computers with them, some people could study even while travelling home. Although computers are a great technological invention for people all around

Visions of a Sustainable World

Creating a shared vision of a sustainable and desirable future is the most critical task facing humanity today. This vision must be of a world that we all want, a world that provides permanent prosperity within the Earth’s biophysical constraints in a fair. At the centre of the idea of sustainability is an ethical imperative to pass on a undiminished future to our children. To bring our world toward sustainability — or any other goal — we need to take different kinds of steps, which require different kinds of knowledge, talent, skill, and work. Future will be sustainable when citizens are concerned enough about the environment that they want to make a difference. It will happen when diverse groups from industry, environment, schools, service clubs, business, governments & the public come together and work towards a common vision of sustainability for our communities - balancing the needs of human and natural systems.

Studying abroad

First of all, people have to do a lot of work before they can study abroad. There are even some organisations, who help people get started studying abroad. For example in Estonia there is organisation named YFU , who helps people to get started in foreign country. YFU helps people to find a host family and school, but everything else is up to them. There are many advantages of studying abroad. For example it is a good opportunity to travel and get to know different cultures. An exchange student will also get more independent. Also it is a great way to study foreign language and broaden your outlooks. When people study abroad they make a lot of new friends, also some people have even found their love of life. However studying abroad is not easy. First months are hardest because it is a completely different environment, it takes people a lot of time before they feel comfortable in foreign country.

Virtual friendship

relates to people turning lasier, with internet people will go less outside to make real friends that they can learn to know and can examine their behaviour. Even so virtual world has its benefits. One of the biggest is that you are able to meet a lot of more people than you can in real life. It also gives us a better opportunity to learn from other cultures. In fact many teenagers learn a lot from foreign friends whom they have met through the internet. This helps us to see life in a different perspective. With internet people do not have to feel lonely, you can have as many friends as you like to keep you company. Overall in my opinion, virtual world is a good thing as long as you can make a difference between real friends and the friends online. It makes our lives easier and gives us a great opportunity to meet different people.

Marxism

Marxism  Why to be for Marxism? 1. Belief that a working labour could be seen as joy if a workers sees themselves in the objects they have created. 2. Against exploitation of workers which basically means that workers labour is resold at a higher price than he gets paid for it. 3. Classless society which means that everyone is equal in a basic sense as a member of the tribe and the different functional assignments of the primitive mode of production, howsoever rigid and stratified they might be, did not and could not, simply because of the numbers, produce a class society as such.  Why to be against Marxism? 1. Marxism removes incentive, with the slogan “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need” which implies that you should only get what you need, regardless of

Smart cities

sustainable development. It has been expected that in 2025 there are at least 88 smart cities. Connected streets are the core of smart cities. Smart connected streetlights open up many possibilities. They can gather and send information. Standby lighting can switch on when somebody walks by. There can be specific lighting to cross the street safely. Smart cities can also help you finding a parking spot. Life can be easier using different sensors. Waste collection companies can watch online how full containers are. Weather sensors can manage automatic watering systems and detect leaks. Other sensors can provide updates on air pollution, noise and river level. There is no need to read water or electricity meters anymore. Everything will be available in real time. This solution can also save resources. Smart cities make life safer. If there is an accident, an alert goes out immediately. Thanks to remote

Economy of Estonia

modern and more varied. Several producers hope to soon enter the EU market with their production. Part 2 Light industry yields a highly varied output from cotton fabrics to clothing and footwear. The fastest production growth can be witnessed in the enterprises of mechanical engineering and metalwork and chemical industries which give more added value. A widespread preconception, especially in Russia, holds that the Estonian economy depends largely on Russian transit. The reality is different -- freight traffic between Russia and the rest of the world is an important source of profit for Estonian ports but the role of transit in the Estonian economy has been consistently decreasing. Slightly more than 70% of the freight flow of the ports and 57% of the rail freight is connected with transit. Such shares are constantly diminishing as Russian oil flow goes through her own ports on an increasing scale. Presently about one third of the freight flow may be related to transit. The

What is integrated care?

· care programmes · managed care networks · case/care management · disease management · patient-centred care · shared decision-making · integrated care pathways The desire for better integration of care has been expressed in different ways. For example, multidisciplinary care was a particular concern in the 1960s; partnership working in the 1970s; and shared care and disease management in the 1980s and 1990s (see Table 1). What we now refer to as `integrated care' is an umbrella term, encompassing diverse initiatives that seek to address fragmentation, but that differ in underlying scope and values (Stein and Reider, 2009).

Make-up

Most often I use beauty products like mascara and lip balm. I can't go out without wearing them. Ibid I always wear nail polish too. My nail polish colour depend on what I wear. So, if I wear red shoes, I will wear red nail polish too. I like 'big hair'. Every day when I wake up, I straighten and teasing my hair. Erst I wore hair clips, but now I don't. Sometimes when my hair are in a plait, I only wear topknot. If I could get a new make-up kit, it will be consist of mascara, eyeliner, different lip balms and lip glosses, mirror, face powder, rouge, oils, perfume and different eye shadows. I always wear make-up at school and I'll always have my make-up bag with me. My opinion is that, it's okay to wear make-up at school. My mom don't spent ages putting on make-up because she only wear mascara, little bit eye shadow, powder, rouge and lip gloss. I never share any make-up with my mother because we both have owns. I don't know why, but I

Humpty Dumpty from Through the Looking-Glass

My name is Humpty Dumpty a perfect name for me as it means the good and handsome shape I am. I hate to be called and egg. I think it is very provoking. I look rather like any human being I have two eyes, a nose and a mouth. Maybe my head is a bit bigger than usual but it is very beautiful. Actually I am glad to be a bit different from humans as I don't really see the different in their faces. I mean they all look alike. It would be way easier if some had, let's say, both eyes on one side of their nose. I love my life. I sit here, with my legs crossed, on this high and narrow wall and I am not afraid to fall. Well and even if I did fall, which will never happen, then the king promised me to send all his horses and his men and put me in my place again. But there is no need for it since this wall is my home and I am very sure in my capability of staying here.

Looks - how important

Looks how important? Look is quality, which guarantees us first impression of everything. If we can see a repulsive object, then we would not like to know more about it. Conversely looking object makes us feel different. Is look really so important? Why can´t we be ourselves although our look might be different from the view from the streets? I personally love to be myself. I love to feel comfort, that I create with clothes, that I wear. I get my hair cut if it limits my view. Although my thoughts I am pushed by my comrades. If I dressed in public as I dress at home, I would definitely be stared! I am not the one, who makes the rules, I follow them! My friends might still know who I really am, but making new friends is difficult or even impossible because of my own "freestyle".

School Uniforms

School uniforms Uniforms are in many schools nowadays and they are approved by many people. Also, there are people who do not like them. So, are the uniforms good for pupils or not? There are many good sides of wearing uniforms. First, everyone is equal. There would be no fights or teasing about people's clothes because everyone is wearing the same ones. Secondly, school uniforms help to create a strong sense of belonging somewhere. With different clothes no one would notice, that for instance you and your friend go the same school. It would be easier to recognize people with their uniforms. Uniforms also prepare you for your future life, when you often have to dress smart when you go to work. It is a lot easier to dress every morning because you do not have to choose between different sets of clothes. You will have only one to choose the uniform. However, I think, that students should not wear uniforms. Wearing uniforms will

My home town of Valga

So it has two languages, two currencies and two cultures. Valga also has a rich history and a versatile cultural scene. Valga town is a pearl waiting to be discovered. In the south, Estonia shares a border with Latvia and here Valga town is split in half, the northern side, "Valga", belongs to Estonia and "Valka", on the southern side, belongs to Latvia. For years, this created a complicated situation where members of one family, even living on the same street, may have had different citizenships and had to go through customs and border guards in order to visit each other. Fortunately, after both countries joined the Schengen zone, border points were removed and Valga-Valka is fast overcoming the separation issues. Two different currencies languages and cultures still remain, making the town an interesting holiday destination. Where else could you stand, one foot in one country, holding "jäätis" in your left hand
