If I were the misiter on education

If I were the Minister of Education If I got the chance to be the Minister of Education, I would definitely make some changes in school life, changes for the better of course. Firstly, I would improve school catering. I would make school food free for all students because at the moment it is quite expensive. Because of that some students can not afford to eat at school but schooldays are long and it is unhealthy to go all day without eating. School buffet's offer unhealthy chips and pies but very little healthy vegetables and fruits so I would make buffets healthier. Secondly, I believe that it would make classes more effective to watch

ElizabethI

Elizabeth I When Elizabeth was a young girl, the times in Englad were quite confusing and the fight over the throne of England was in the highest point. Of course a major problem was the religion. Elizabeth was a protestant but Mary, the queen of England believed truly in the catholic church. Mary unfortunately died and Elizabeth became the next queen of England. There remained some lords and members of the council who were not loyal to Elizabeth. Many of them wanted to see her dead, but she managed to be alive. The throne was still in endangered by Mary Stuart but the queen moved fast and let Mary killed.

Greec wedding traditions

It is also a custom that the bride's male relatives slap the groom on his back, it is known as a way of welcoming the groom into the family. Another tradition before the weddings is a "baby rolling" tradition. During this thing the friends' and relatives' babies are being gently rolled from one side to another on the matrimonial bed. The bed is also strewn with rose petals, coins and sugar-coated almonds. It is all supposed to bring fertility, happiness and prosperity to the new marriage. Of course the well known tradition of groom not seeing his bride in her wedding dress before the ceremony is considered bad luck in Greece too. Koumbaros is the most important person man at a Greek wedding who is not the groom or the priest. Usually that man is the groom's godfather, but it can also be some other man, who is named as a mark of great honor. He has an extended duties during the ceremony. He holds twin crowns over the heads of the bride and groom,

ABOUT SERIAL KILLERS

Connecticut shootings, we have two perfect examples of mass murderers. They went to one place (a movie theater, a school) and killed several people within a very short amount of time. Serial killing, on the other hand, can happen in one place, but generally occurs over a period of time. The standard distinction between serial killing and multiple murders is that serial killers murder three or more people within the time frame of one month (3). A serial killer will murder 12 people over the course of 4 months or so; a mass murderer 1 will do so in the matter of moments. II. Serial killing history Looking back in history we can easily see mass murderers - from Hitler to Genghis Khan, the most notorious criminal murderers were generally warmongers. However, serial killers before the 1900s are much less publicized. One of the earliest known serial killers was Gilles de Rais, who terrorized his community in the 15th century. The man

My Ideal Room

My Ideal Room My ideal room should be a medium sized. It would have probably more than one window, to have more natural light. There might be some stylish curtains in front of windows; their color might be something in the middle, not too dark, but also not too light. Walls, which would be covered with wallpaper, would be the same type, as the curtains. I'd probably have hard floor, which would have maybe one carpet on it. All the furniture, I'd have in my room, would be in some kind of a brownish variation, to make the room more natural. But I'd combine the entire furniture whit some hi-tech technology, for example a powerful computer, maybe also a 5.1 stereo system, surely a big TV set, about "32" inches diagonal and maybe a big deck too. In my room there would be one medium sofa, maybe one or two closets, studying desk and some shelves for mainly storing CD-s and DVD-s. Of course there would b...

Pros and cons of technology

Pros and Cons of Technology Today we are so used to live surrounded by technology. We could not imagine our lives without it. But what are the pros and cons of technology? Time is money. Of course those wonderful inventions can save our time and nowadays when the pace of life is very fast, it is so important. In my opinion the communications technology is the most valuable, because it makes possible to resque people who need help. A development of transport is also important in this field. But the fact is that people are getting lazy. Machines do all the work for the people. We just sit and watch machines doing our duties, unfortunately it is so harmful for our health.

A 14 year old junky

and lived in York. Her family decided to move to London for a better job. She was really unhappy, because she had to leave all her friends. Once they finally moved she went to a new school. Samantha had difficulties with making new friends. She sat alone in the canteen. She was always bullied by the big tough girls at the school. Once she stood up to them and the bad girls seemed to like her so called “sassiness”. They invited her to the back ally to “talk”, of course Sam did not know what they ment by that, so she went outside. As they were outside one of the bad girls pulled out a syringe and injected it into Samantha. She was scared to her life, that was literally the last thing she would have thought of. The bad girls only laughed, they guessed that it would be funny. But when one of the other girls injected it, she started foaming from her moth and fell down. She had an overdose. The other girls ran but Samantha quickly called for help

Essay You can never have too much money

You can never have too much money I have often heard people say that they can never have too much money. Money is definitely very important in our society. Also it is often said that money changes people. It is obvious that it changes how people look, but what is more important, is that wanting more and more money changes people’s values. There is nothing wrong with wanting a little bigger salary, more money from parents and so on, but you must remember that you can not be greedy and selfish. Perhaps people should pay more attention on things that do not cost, for example friendship. Money usually brings people happiness since you have the ability to buy food on your table and a roof above your head, however it takes time and energy to earn it. You may get tired, stressed and eventually it might cause other problems. Therefore I think that when you have money and you know how to use it the right way, then you can ...

English is the only foreign language worth learning

Intercourse is what connects us, but to communicate with others we need to understand one another. What is more, we do not need to be so similar. Speaking some other language makes us more intriguing. Foreign languages are like crayons, all in different colours. Imagine if all the crayons would be in the same colour. If we paint a picture, we need a variety of colours to make the picture interesting. That is why we need to learn not only English, but many others languages too. Of course, there are people who argue that studying English is the only foreign language worth learning. Because it would unite us and make the communicating easier. But things do not have to be easy in life. All in all, I think learning other foreign languages, in addition to English, is important and necessary.

members and friends have to feel. So it seems fair to punish murderer in that awful way, but then murderers family members get hurt and it would be vicious circle. Also the death penalty takes away opportunity to regret those horrible mistakes. Some people can change and would live life properly. But then, some people can't change themselves and they could do same mistakes over and over again. Then it seems right again to punish them with the death penalty. Of course from economical side capital punishment is better than maintaining serious criminals at public expence. Because it is quite expensive to feed and cover those lifetime prisnoners. But the main reason why I agree that capital punishment should be abolished is that when somebody is convicted guilty and later some evidences that prove his or her innosence will come out, but capital punishment is already executed, then it is impossible to bring that human back. It is the worst that can happen.

Modern electronic games

Essay: Modern electronic games Electronic games have become very popular among people of all ages nowadays due to the easy access to computers, consoles and internet. They are mostly frowned upon by adults, because they do not seem to find any positive aspects about them. But are electronic games really that bad for you? Of course, like anything else, video games can be addictive, which may lead to eye damage. The impact of excessive visual medium is evident as a large number of children these days start wearing spectacles from an early age. Long hours of playing can also result in headaches and dizziness. When played moderately, video games have many benefits. The activities and actions on the screen provide a lot of mental stimulation, improving coordination, concentration and problem-solving skills.

Myers, Kitsuse 2000 Constracting the Future in Planning

provides the most realistic results. Finally, a plan requires evaluation of the forecasted future for its level of desirability and potential alterability. Plans can be constructed to avoid undesirable futures, to make desired forecasts come true, or to create new, more desirable futures. Unfortunately, Isserman concludes that planners have adopted quantitative techniques of projection as if they described the most probable future (truth) and as if that were desired (ideal). Plans are of course the workhorse of the planning profession. Plans should be both visionary and practical. Ignoring the distinctions between projections and forecasts, or between forecasts and plans, planners often take the results of a simple mechanical projection as if that were an accurate prediction of the most probable future (a forecast). How freely should planners seek to shape the future? An effective planner might introduce judgment into an analysis that causes the forecast to support a desired future

Kirjand " Eksamid on kohustuslikud " (" Exams are a must ")

Does anyone in real life situation prohibit you to check your spelling grammar from dictionary or look online help for the problems. Some people are smarter, while others do not. Also I hate thinking like all people need to be good at any skill. It's impossible, there are smart people and creative people, never both, who have both skills have poor skills. And we are not able to change this. As one wise man said: ,,Nobody really learns anything by force". Of course the important thing is being able to use those facts well, quickly and under pressure. But there are people who don't manage anything and they will not survive in our modern society. Finally, I would say that exams are pointless . A good degree is absolutely no guarantee of a good job. There are people who don't manage anything and they will not survive in our modern society. However, we always need people who do the dirty jobs.

Computers breed laziness and discontent Nowadays most people have computers.People are getting more and more addicted to computers and of course Internet. I think that every human should control his or her computer using habits. First of all, people have to use their brains lesser. They do not have to remember how to spell words anymore, the computer does it all for them. What is more, students do not have to go library to do their home tasks. They can just use Internet search engines. For this reason, people`s brains grow lazy. Secondly, people are just sitting behind the computer and watching the screen.

Letter to a friend

My last trip took me to the Finland where I met a lot of interesting people. Secondly, there are some countries I am dreaming to visit some day in the future. I would really like to travel to Japan. I would love to visit a country which has very rich traditions and culture. There are very proud and generous people. I would like to see some festivals there and also visit some old castles and temples. Also Japan is known for its robots and technical gadgets. And of course I like to see citylights in the night and go shopping to big centres. Shibuya 109 is a mutli-storey shopping centre just for teenage girs. And Akihabara in Tokyo is know solely for its electronics and games. Finally, the only negative aspect about travelling is that then I will not see my friends and family for long time. But we could use Skype for chatting and I can send them new exciting pictures every day. Please write to me about your travelling dreams and places

What makes a good leader?

requires creativity. It is a science because there are certain principles and techniques required. A good leader knows when it is time to change shape. A great leader allows creativity to be unleashed and takes risks. Person like that can transform his or her organization for major developement. A good leader needs to be able to laugh but a great leader should be abel to laugh at oneself. Secondly, a good leader is considering with his employees. Of course he or she has to have skills and knowledge on how to motivate workers and pave the way for company's success, but one cannot forget that leading requires a big responsibility. For example, if the head of a company makes bad financial decisions, everyone on that company is being influenced. In conclusin, I can say that the shape of a leader is never plain. Leadership is both art and science. Also, a good leader has to consider with his employees, be wise and make right decisions.

Secondly, one fateful thing about having an animal is that people do not have any time for them. Some people travel a lot and they can not afford to keep an animal. And even if you do not travel much and you want an animal, you have to have time for them. Lastly, some people are allergetic for animals hair, so they can not have any animal except fishes, snakes etc. In conclusion, I think it is good to have an animal. They can give a lot of fun and make your every day better. Of course, there is responsibility, but the joy you get is best of all.

Writing an article - Paradise at the Adriatic Sea

Paradise at the Adriatic Sea I have visited some interesting places around the world. The best place I have ever been to is Dubrovnik, located in the south of the Croatia. This town is very old and has a really interesting history. Nowadays this is one of the most famous resorts in Europe. Climate, of course is hot as the town is located at the Adriatic Sea. It consist of two parts : the old town and the new one. The old town is the primary objective for tourists who visit Dubrovnik. Narrow strelets full of different souvenir shops and restaurants are worth of visiting. The old town isn't the onlt place to visit there. Outside of the town walls you can find even more resturants, where you can sit next to the sea and enjoy fish and seafood dishes from the local Croatian kitchen

But in good will, learning the language isn't very hard, unless you're learning Chinese symbols. The threat of terrorism may get worse as the result of multiculturalism. Many people can also choose the wrong path, so they may become criminals and murderers. As well there may arise problems, disagreements and opposite opinions about racism. Multiculturalism is good and beneficial, when it when it doesn't destroy the country's own traditions, habits and of course people. In that way, multiculturalism is useful and developing society !

This, of course, influences the formation of their individuality. Every one of Facebook users develops certain feelings while using the website. The two most related qualities are self-esteem and loneliness. I think Facebook is not a real problem for problem , its just for fun or to make new friends or to keep in touch with your friends/relatives who live far away from you. I agree that in some cases people get addicted to facebook , I was once too. I used to stay all day in facebook . but now I don’t , I hardly ever use it . when I didn’t have with who to talk , I felt lonely . Drink enough water, walking in the fresh air every day. Get enough sleep, a good night`s sleep gives your brain a brilliant boost, it improves your memory and ability to focus. At least 7-8 hours of sleep is very important for me and I always trying to go to sleep before midnight. Of course it easy for me, because I go to school and I don`t have kids, but I believe, however, that most people really could more sleep, when they plan their day better organized. Estonian cuisine

contributions from the traditions of nearby countries. German, Scandinavian, Russian and other influences have played their part. The most typical foods in Estonia have been rye bread, pork, potatoes and dairy products. Estonian eating habits have historically been closely linked to the seasons. In terms of staples, Estonia belongs firmly to the beer, vodka, rye bread and pork "belt" of Europe. The Cold Table Flounder The first course in traditional Estonian cuisine is based on cold dishes - a selection of meats and sausages served with potato salad or Rosolje, an Estonian signature dishes based on beetroot, meat and herring . Small pastries called pirukad ("pirukas" in the singular) - a relative of the pirozhki - filled with meat, cabbage, carrots, rice and other fillings or mixtures are also popular, and are often served with bouillon. Herring is common among other fish as a part of the Estonian Cold Table

THE VALUE OF THINGS VS THE PRICE OF THINGS

value expensive things like diamonds or highly rated technology, some people on the other value things that are not financially valuable, like family, love or friends. The value of things is quite different from the price of things. A good example to prove it, is Apple. The price of Apple products are simply overrated. Iphone is like any other phone, but people buy it just to be popular and because everyone else are buying them. For Apple it is good of course, because they are serving benefits. Other example are designer clothes. The value of these clothing items are like clothes from basics shops. Designers sell their clothings for thousands and people are buying them. I think the reason, why people are buying such expensive and overrated products, is that they want to be like each other or show that they are better or richer than the others. It is funny that people do things like these.

Peace and keeping

It is natural that we don`t all agree with everything, but a certain level of acceptance and understanding must be reachable with words. Luckily, there are more and more international peace organizations that help acheive and maintain peace. They are doing everything that they can to keep the world from destroying itself. In Conclusion, there have been thousands of battles and wars all over the world. Whether the reason is land, religion or any other disagreement, the course of the war is still the same - the land gets ravaged and people get injured or even die. War brings absolutely no good. That is why it is so important for everyone to keep peace.

"Babel" My favourite film

accidental crime, nanny illegally crossing into Mexico with two American children and a Japanese teen girl rebel, whose father is caught by the police in Tokyo. Every branch of the story has it s very own distinct style that complements the plot of each one perfectly. The scenes are stunning, beautiful and dramatic. The film makes quite a sad impression, because the events of the film are tragic. "Babel" is a film that, of course, is about what makes all humans alike. It shows no matter what language we speak, how many boarders we have drawn on a map or how often we try to separate ourselves through culture we cannot destroy the one thing that draws us together: the painful reality of our powerful nature, pain will always make as one.

You put something on your body something unnatural but what describes you 100 % , means something to you a lot. Of course before I even planned to get a tattoo I found out as much information as I could. While I was doing that I well even more in love with tattoos. Before I got my tattoo I went to see how is it actually done in real life and again it made me want it even more. Few weeks later I got it, at first I was kind of afraid of the pain but it wasn't as bad as I imaged. I am so happy with the result and totally planning to have another one soon. Travelling - not so easy as it seems to be

TRAVELLING not so easy as it seems to be "What if we go to..." or just "Hi! I'm back from Egypt!" these are some of the sentences which we all have heard from our friends. Of course we all want to travel and see the world but it might not be so easy as it seems to be. Travelling has its drawback too. You will get new experiences and see different places of the world but all of this has its negative side too. On the one hand you can familiarize yourself with different cultures, see interesting places and sights. Also you can just relax and enjoy yourself or just stop thinking about your problems. On the other hand travelling needs a lot of money and free time

Advantages and disadvantages living in a city

live anywhere else. Some people think the opposite. I think that there are many advantages of living in a big city. First of all, there are many opportunities to spend your free time. There are theatres, shopping centres, galleries and entertainment places. In a big city there are also hospitals and schools nearby. Also it is much easier to find a job in a big city, because there are many companies, which are located in a central city. Of course, public transport in a big city is much more comfortable, than in a countryside. There are also many disadvantages of living in a big city. In the morning the streets are crowded, because everybody has to go to work and they only use cars or public transport, which means that there are traffics. Sometimes it's hard to get from one place to another, because it takes hours! Also there are many crimes and violence at night, so you have to be careful.

What should we do to live longer?

In addition, the most important is healthy food. You should not eat junk food. You need to get all the necessary vitamins. It is necessary to eat local food, because it has no preservatives. In fact, there are many young people, who are smoking. Smoking is very unhealthy for everyone. Smoking damages our health. Acctually non-smokers life is much longer, than people who smoke, because smokers can get lung cancer, which usually means death. For example, of course many people are drinking a lot too. By my side, I think drinking is not so bad, but you need to border mind. Young people consume too much alcohol what is very bad to their healt. However, very important thing is doing sports. Sport helps to be in the form. Thanks to sport activities we can move and this is very important to your body. You should be an active. Finally, we need to rest a lot and sleep. Sleeping helps our body to rest. If we do not sleep, then our body is very tied

Leaflet - Making New Friends

Making New Friends Hey, all the students! Feeling kind of lost and lonely in the new school and city? Let's come together! Now, when the school year has started, there's a lot more of us circulating around the campus. Since there have been coming in students from other countries, I'd like to point out some good places where all young people could meet and greet. The usual locations are of course concerts, sport and any other clubs but in case you have some kind of a hobby, you should dig out where you could meet people with the same interests. Our school has always had many interesting events through the year and here are some of the near future ones: A lot alikes banding together doesn't matter weather you're an athlete, a cheerleader, a musician or a writer, you are not the only one, so school is supporting different activity clubs.

The Importance of Being Earnest

English. The play tells the story of two men. One of them, Jack, lives in the country but loves to go to London once in a while. Jack's friend Algernon lives in London but, vice versa, likes to get away from the urbanism. Both of them fall in love with a woman, but the two men make a mistake, they lie about their name. Both say their name is Earnest and as it turns out, that is the name a man should have to marry those women. Of course the lie comes out and that is when the real drama starts. I really liked the play. It is witty and not so predictable as you could guess. Not only the substance is funny, but also the acting and how the cast moves. Some of the actors also play two roles and manage it superbly. I do not suggest the play to young children, because it involves some language and behaviour that is not suitable for them. Other than that everyone could have a good night out.

Tourism

I think it's true because we can meet another people and visit various places all over the world. We can find out more about foreign cultures and traditions or languages. In this sense traveling can be an instructive experience. On the other hand, tourism can be really destructive for the environment. Nowadays people want to be everywhere in the African jungle or in the depth of the sea. In this way they are interfering in the natural course of the wilderness There is another danger. If we set off to the country in which there are common exotic diseases without inoculation, we can expose ourselves not only to wasted holidays, but even to death. To sum up tourism brings advantages and disadvantages, but life without it won't be so interesting.

Letter to the president

questions in English. It would help us to evolve our communication in the formal way and it makes us richer by the experience. Visiting our school would be useful for you too. We could discuss about the problems in the education system and offer our solutions to improve an education. You could communicate with the younger generation who respect you and will be indescribably happy about you visiting. It would be a great honour to get you in our school. Of course it is understandable that your schedule is busy enough, so you don't have much free time but we are still hoping that you can find a piece of your busy life for us. Even if for you it is just a little part of your job, for us it would be an experience for a lifetime, so I am looking forward to your reply. I hope it will be positive. Yours faithfully, ...

Plato

PLATO My favorite and most interesting subject was about Plato. The fact that he is the worlds most known and widely read and studied philosophers is really interesting. I really like the metafors he used to compare every day life and problems. If he said that people are blind, he ment that people are dumb and havent learned things that life offers them. It is really amazing how Plato guessed so many years ago, what the future will bring. People havent changed, society and things around people have changed. Really great way to tell how people develop and gain experience, was through the metafor of ,,cave". Plato compared just born and small childer to people, who are in the beginning of the cave. Children are helpless just as the people who are in the dark, cold cave. Kids are also dumb and dont know how to deal with things, just like the people who are in the dark and cant see around them. body. I actually do some sports in day like playing somethimes football in summer and basketball. My favorite sport is Skateboarding. Although this is not sport. But some people thinks that skateboarding is sport and others not. For me it's sport because it's pretty hard to drive all the day and then go to home and to your homeworks and so one. I drive with my friends and it's pretty fun because i can do some tricks that my friends can't do and then they are going to learn that trick. Of course my friends can to tricks what i can't do and it's fun to learn and teach some new tricks. But sport is important thing in our life. For example we have here in estonia so many good athletics like Erki Nool, Gerd Kanter and so one. It's good to see when your country contestant win a medal. We have won quite a number of medals like Gerd Kanter did it in Peking and won a Gold. It's good because our small country have so many good athletics. And this give a respect. Thanks for listening
