In a similar vein drip filter coffee machines require a medium to fine grind as the filter paper restricts the flow of hot water into the jug but even so the infusion time is quite short. The cafetiere (or French Press) method requires a medium grind as the coffee may infuse for a while before the customer decides to end the infusion process by depressing the integral strainer to trap the used grounds at the bottom of the pot. * Quantity of coffee used: It is imperative to use the correct amount of coffee appropriate to the equipment used to brew it.Using less coffee than recommended by compensating by using a longer brew time will not result in a standard brew but just produce an over-extracted beverage. By the same token using more coffee than recommended and using a quicker infusion time will just result in an under-extracted coffee. Approximate measures: 1 ounce of coffee to 1 pint of water 60 grams of coffee to 1 litre of water

Houses of parliament

No doubt Vulliamy was pleased to be the clockmaker of choice for what was then to be the largest clock in the world, but other enterprising firms were not happy with the manner in which they had no opportunity to compete for the contract. Subsequently, the Astronomer Royal, Sir George Airy, was appointed as referee for the new clock and produced a specification in 1846. A key requirement of the specification was that the clock was to strike the first blow of each hour correct to one second in time. Tenders were invited and were received from three makers, Dent, Vulliamy and Whitehurst. Dent was Airy' s favourite and soon he had to make the clock himself. In 1852 Dent was awarded the contract. There were many troubles during building the tower. The first of the difficulties occurred when it was discovered that the architect had failed to make the necessary provision for the clock in the tower. Edward John Dent died in 1853 and

Essey: How does the United States influence Estonia

and the second half of 20th century was dominated by Russian influences. In the 21th century, however, Estonian language has been stoutly impacted by English. Some people are very protective and resolute about preserving Estonian language with its linguistic diversity just as it is without any foreign influences. Some say that it is only natural that every language changes, picking up bits and pieces of other languages. I believe both "parties" are correct, but I also believe that we must be careful, unless instead a normal development of our language we get overrun by another language, thereby mutating Estonian into Estonglish. Everything even remotely tourist/abroad aimed is labelled firstly in English and in very small letters in Estonian. I do believe in broadcasting ourselves. I believe in translations. But I believe that going about in, say, Tallinn, and reading the

British History KT küsimused ja vastused

Of course wealth is part of it but it's not always possible to look at the people and say in which class the person belongs. The first sign is the way a person talks. People from different social classes eat different food at different times of day, they like to talk about different topics using different styles and accents of English, they enjoy different sports, they have different values about what things are most important in life and different ideas about the correct way to behave. 10. Standard English is used `naturally' in everyday speech by between 15% and 30% of the population in Britain. Received Pronunciation (RP) is used in everyday speech by only 3% to 12% of the population. So why is Standard English with an RP accent the usual model for people learning British English as a foreign language? What justification can you find for this practise? 11. Can you think of examples of British individualism?

Hypermobility. The effect of hypermobility on flexibility

mass is constantly growing as well as they skip stretching continuously. The only sports that evolve muscle mass and joint flexibility at the same time are powerlifting, gymnasts, dancing and martial arts. For instance, an American powerlifter Sarah Robles, the „strongest woman in America“ 7 encourages her students to „Lift big and lock out“8 which intensifies the joints’ capability to hyperextend. The reverse is correct as well: the more flexible one is, the less bulking muscle one has. The existing muscles are fragile and extra vulnerable to muscle tear because they are often stretched to be intensely lean. The elasticity of the body consists of three types: passive, active and dynamic flexibility. Passive flexibility is the ability to stretch while aided by one’s own body or partner. Muscles do not get extra tension while working out and the amount of

E223 mõju kartuli säilumisele ja organoleptilistele omadustele

Tallinn 2013 Resümee inglise keeles An important issue that has always pestered mankind: how to preserve food products for longer duration without degrading the quality. In the current paper, the use of synthetic preservative E223, its advantages and side effects (health hazards) on pre-prepared peeled potato- products are described. A practical test to evaluate organoleptical changes in pre-prepared potatos due to air and UV light. The hypothesis: usage of correct amount of E223 prevents potatoes to react with oxygen, light and other possible elements and helps to maintain the commercial look, was absolutely correct.

Zachman on ainult produktiraamistik - mida valmistada? Zachmani laiendada sobiva protsessiraamistikuga (mida see isegi tähendab?) - kuidas valmistada? Protsessiraamistik on agiilse arhitektuuri osa. 5. Protsessiraamistik ● Klassikaline - e kose mudel (seda tegime modelleerimises) Uuri valdkonda (ärianalüüs) - püstita nõuded tarkvarale (süsteemianalüüs) - modelleeri lahendus (disain) - genereeri tarkvara (teostamine). Analüüs toimub esimeses kahes (? correct me if I’m wrong) staadiumis.

is absolutely essential to fishing in midwater. When towing the trawl, the two boats are sailing over either sides of the fish school and not directly over it as a single trawler is doing; as a result, the fish is less disturbed (and, for instance, will not tend to swim deeper), while when the fish is close to the surface, the drag of the two vessels may have an herding effect grouping fish before the trawl opening. Regarding the rigging, for getting the correct vertical opening, groups of floats or buoys are often attached to each of the upper wings, the headline extremities and weights are hung at the extremities of the two lower wings or a few meters before them. The distance between the two pair trawlers and the towing speed are also very important element for the trawl opening. In general, a netsounder (vertical echo-sounder fixed on the trawl itself) is used to control the opening of the trawl and its position versus the surface or the bottom.

Prolog-i põhi-idee on nõuda otsitava lahenduse kirjeldamist esimest järku predikaatarvutuse keeles, kusjuures Prolog-i süsteem sisaldab teatud tüüpi automaatset teoreemitõestajat, mis on võimeline lahendust automaatselt otsima ja tuletama. Some properties of an Algorithm Kindlasti: Deterministic: Given the same input, it produces the same output. Finite: It can be described in a finite number of steps Definite: Each step has a clearly defined meaning. Soovitavalt: Correct: It produces correct answers Time Bounded: It eventually stops Fast: it not only stops, but stops quickly Tegeldakse keerukusega peamiselt kahes mõttes: Kiirus ehk aeg (time): kui kiiresti algoritm peatub, kui kiireid algoritme on mingite ülesannete jaoks olemas?

The Renaissance

Two young men stand next to an array of objects that signify discovery, knowledge and the arts. A globe of the world, showing America, shares space with a lute, an astronomical globe, a Turkish rug used as a tablecloth, and a selection of mathematical instruments. These things speak of a widening world, in which Britain during the reign of Henry VIII was starting to play a bigger part. But something smears across the lower part of the painting, grisly and absurd: looked at from the correct angle, this distorted image reveals itself as a skull. Death haunts the age of discovery. Sir John Gilberts 1849 painting The plays of Shakespeare containgin scenes and characters from several of w.s plays-

Law-makers breaking the law: torture as a justified interrogation technique?

is justified by that this would result in maximum happiness for the greatest number of people. It is said that in case of a moral dilemma there is never the possibility of 2 complete justification. Torture is illegal but if human lives can be saved, it is worth it. This disregards the act itself and only looks at the result (Driver, 2014). Hedonism supposes that a decision is ethically correct if the consequence brings maximal satisfaction to the individual. Eudemonism replaces the word satisfaction by happiness. The difference between the two words is that satisfaction usually is short- term and focuses more on the senses. Happiness is something long-term and is more 'part' of a person than an experience its senses undergo. Utilitarianism believes a certain action should result in maximum happiness for the biggest group of people. The

one moment in time, not at how this language came to be the way it is now. Example Estonian in the 21st century. Diachronic approach to language → A focus in language study on how a language has changed over some period of time. In a way it is comparing language to what it was and how it is now. For example comparing 18th century and 19th century Estonian. Linguistic competence → Is a person’s knowledge of how it is correct to speak but he or she is unable to give reasons why this is the right way of speaking. Chomsky says that linguistic competence is an idealized capacity of language. It is the hearers knowledge of his/hers language and it is the ‘mental reality’ which is responsible for all those aspects of language use which can be characterized as ‘linguistic’. Abstract sets of rules that help us to form and understand grammatical sentences.

Turbo ja kompressor(inglise keeles)

SUPERCHARGER Adding a supercharger is a great way to achieve forced air induction.A supercharger is any device that pressurizes the air intake to above atmospheric pressure. Superchargers are powered mechanically by belt- or chain-drive from the engine's crankshaft. Getting more fuel into the charge would make for a more powerful explosion. But you can't simply pump more fuel into the engine because an exact amount of oxygen is required to burn a given amount of fuel. This chemically correct mixture -- 14 parts air to one part fuel -- is essential for an engine to operate efficiently. The bottom line: To put in more fuel, you have to put in more air. That's the job of the supercharger. Superchargers increase intake by compressing air above atmospheric pressure, without creating a vacuum. This forces more air into the engine, providing a "boost." With the additional air in the boost, more fuel can be added to the charge, and the power of the engine is increased

Arthur Conan Doyle

The first case, in 1906, involved a shy half-British, half-Indian lawyer named George Edalji, who had allegedly penned threatening letters and mutilated animals. Police were set on Edalji's conviction, even though the mutilations continued after their suspect was jailed. It was partially as a result of this case that the Court of Criminal Appeal was established in 1907, so not only did Conan Doyle help George Edalji, his work helped establish a way to correct other miscarriages of justice. The story of Conan Doyle and Edalji is told in fictional form in Julian Barnes' 2005 novel, Arthur & George. The second case, that of Oscar Slater a German Jew and gambling-den operator convicted of bludgeoning an 82-year-old woman in Glasgow in 1908, excited Conan Doyle's curiosity because of inconsistencies in the prosecution case and a general sense that Slater was framed.

Psühhofüüsika - sensoorseid protsesse uuriv psühholoogiateaduse haru, mille põhiprobleemideks on vastavuste leidmine ühelt poolt füüsiliste stiimulite omaduste, ja teiselt poolt vastava sensoorse kogemuse intensiivsuse ning kvaliteedi vahel. or sound "dog" could have been used to mean anything. This Referential Theory of Linguistic Meaning would explain the sig- nificance of all expressions in terms of their having been conventionally associated with things or states of affairs in the world, and it would explain a human being's understanding a sentence in terms of that person's knowing what the sentence's component words refer to. It is a natural and appealing view. Indeed it may seem obviously correct, at least so far as it goes. And one would have a hard time denying that reference or naming is our cleanest-cut and most familiar relation between a word and the world. Yet, when exam- ined, the Referential Theory very soon runs into serious objections. Objection 1 Not every word does name or denote any actual object. First, there are the names of nonexistent items like Pegasus or the Easter Bunny. "Pegasus" does not denote anything, because there is in reality no
