However, in order to replace paper charts, such systems must fulfil considerable technical requirements: • The chart data in use must be official (i.e. official ENCs where available); • The graphic display on the screen must meet the equipment-independent specification; and • The equipment must support the full range of navigational functions that can be performed on the traditional paper charts. Back up requirements No electronic system is completely failsafe. IMO Performance Standards therefore require that the ”overall system” include both a primary ECDIS and an adequate independent back up arrangement that provides: • Independent facilities enabling a safe take over of the ECDIS functions in order to ensure that a system failure does not result in a critical situation; and • A means to provide for safe navigation for the remaining part of the voyage in case of ECDIS failure.

Resume Sexuality plays an important part in forming one's identity. Alongside love between men and women, love and relationships between people of the same sex have always existed. Discussions about sexuality and especially about attraction towards people of the same sex have been going on for centuries. For a long time romantic and sexual relationships between people of the same sex either received great negative attention or were completely ignored. That lasted for the most part until the 20th century, when sexual roles were redefined and people dared to talk about sexuality. This subject was chosen because the author is interested in how the role sexual minorities play in society is changing. There is little Estonian literature on the topic, so the author wants to give an overview about the problems sexual minorities face and inform about their situation.

The Whigs and Tories were the world's first political parties and over the years to come they were to share government and opposition in a dual party system. The Whigs became the Liberal Party and the Tories became the Conservative Party. *The Glorious Revolution 1688 was the overthrow of King James II of England by a union of Parliamentarians with an invading army led by William of Orange. The Glorious Revolution is also sometimes called the Bloodless Revolution, but it was not completely bloodless. In England there were two significant clashes between the two armies. The revolution led to the collapse of the Dominion of New England and the overthrow of the Maryland's government. James's overthrow began modern English parliamentary democracy: never again would the monarch hold absolute power, and the Bill of Rights became one of the most important documents in the political history of Britain.
The kind of language Whitman uses sometimes supports and sometimes seems to contradict his philosophy. He often uses obscure, foreign, or invented words. This, however, is not meant to be intellectually elitist but is instead meant to signify Whitman's status as a unique individual. Democracy does not necessarily mean sameness. The difficulty of some of his language also mirrors the necessary imperfection of connections between individuals: no matter how hard we try, we can never completely understand each other. Whitman largely avoids rhyme schemes and other traditional poetic devices. He does, however, use meter in masterful and innovative ways, often to mimic natural speech. In these ways, he is able to demonstrate that he has mastered traditional poetry but is no longer subservient to it, just as democracy has ended the subservience of the individual. The participants in the Zimbardo study were fully informed about what the study would show, so there was no deception. Every participant who took part in the study had the right to withdraw.
