During his short life, his work received constant critical attacks from periodicals of the day, but his posthumous influence on poets such as Alfred Tennyson has been immense. Elaborate word choice and sensual imagery characterize Keats's poetry; including a series of odes that were his masterpieces and which remain among the most popular poems in English literature. Ode is a form of stately and elaborate lyrical verse. A classic ode is structured in three parts: the strophe, the antistrophe, and the epode. Different forms such as the homostrophic ode and the irregular ode also exist. 8. A Defence of Poetry by Shelley: Main ideas: poetry brings about moral good, exercises and expands the

in Canada as English, this was true even in Quebec, particularly in Montreal. Canada is officially a bilingual country but, with nearly 60% of the population speaking English as their mother- tongue, and only 21% speaking French as their first language, some people are questioning whether Canada is a bilingual nation on paper only. With English being the lingua franca, it has come to dominate the economy. Even in Québec, English was the language of prestige and choice for business, and French-speakers were often discriminated against when applying for work. The relative status of French had declined to an unacceptable extent, it did not pay to speak French even in Quebec. 1963 the Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism was created. It was a response to the growing unrest among French Canadians in Québec, who called for the protection of their language and culture, and

Apart from protecting the environment with some of the lowest levels of carbon emissions, the natural insulation properties of clay brick also contribute significantly to the life cycle of a building. Clay brick has the ability to absorb heat during the day and release it at night, thus reducing the need for artificial heating in winter and cooling in summer. So much so, that clay brick has become the preferred choice for many residential and commercial projects. Slide 15 Thank you for listening!

that continues to the root of Hell where it finds its end at the gate of Purgatory. Dante is represented as truth, intelligence, and love, and Pound generates a positive portrayal of Dante's work. Tate, Maritain, and Pound give insightful and pertinent observations of the Inferno, however, one major aspect, which was overlooked in their critiques, was the theological truths Dante uncovered on his imaginary journey through Hell. The reality of God, the Creator's love and man's choice is evidenced throughout the Inferno. On this spiritual pilgrimage, Dante has lost his way and tries to get back on the right path to gain salvation, but many temptations are faced along the way. Dante uses allegory in his story to depict these temptations or sin. In the dark wood he encounters a leopard, lion, and a she-wolf. The leopard stands for lust, the lion for pride, and the she-wolf for greed. He takes the reader through the murky, disgusting depths of Hell

Catherine Morland My name is Catherine Morland. I would like to tell you a bit about myself. To begin with, I am seventeen years old and grew up in a countryside in a small town named Fullerton with my parents and nine siblings. As a child I was interested in many things like drawing, sports and music. I was very lively and cheerful, enjoyed cricket, horse riding and just hated cleanliness and restriction. As I grew up, I chose reading over sports and all of the wild games I used to like. Undoubtedly, I would now describe myself with the word naivety. I am very naïve and do not notice the most obvious things happening around me. I really hope that it is caused by the lack of experience and will eventually pass. In addition, I find myself a kind and caring person because I always want and agree to help people when needed. Furthermore, I really like reading. Sometimes I think that I read too much because I often mix fiction up with reali...

and stability, good documentation, continuing support from Sun Microsystems, low development costs, the ability to use legacy code (e.g. C, C++), and increased programmer productivity. The portability of Java is sometimes overstated games in particular often require some `tweaking' to improve their performance on different OSes/machines, such as in the scheduling of threads, data structure and/or algorithm design, or the choice of GUI components. Also, if legacy code written in a different language is utilised then portability is frequently compromised. Productivity is an important advantage, although hard to quantify. An old study from 1998 suggested that software written in pure Java instead of C++ results in a 25% overall time/cost saving, corresponding to an overall productivity increase of 30% (the increase for the code phase alone is 65%) [Quinn and Christiansen 1998]. Wave energy converters can be classified according to the location of installation, the modes of movement and the geometry and orientation of the harvesting device. Location of installation Besides the necessary wave climate, harvesting wave energy depends on the possibilities of fixation. Three main technologies are practical: floating, tethering and fixation. Offshore, which means far away from the coast over deep water, a floating installation would be the best choice because of the missing possibility of fixation. 11 Offshore, which means far away from the coast over deep water, a floating installation would be the best choice because of the missing possibility of fixation. In intermediate depth (for example near the shore) a tethering technology could be realized which enables the wave harvesting plant following the wave direction for maximum efficiency.

There are some rules to live by, if you want to have good health. Eat a variety of foods, especially fruits and vegetables. Without food, nothing can live. It gives us the energy to move and stay warm and keeps our bodies healthy. The three main kinds of human food are proteins, fats and carbohydrates. We also need certain minerals and vitamins. A balanced diet one that includes all those things is necessary for good health. You may have a favorite food, but the best choice is to eat a variety. If you eat different foods, you're more likely to get the nutrients your body needs. Taste new foods and old ones you haven't tried for a while. Some foods, such as green veggies, are more pleasing the older you get. Shoot for at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day -- two fruits and three vegetables. Drink water and milk most often. When you're really thirsty, cold water is the No. 1 thirst-quencher. And there's a reason your school cafeteria offers free milk

Linux. We chose it as its user-friendliness, diversity and richness of features set new standards for functionality and perfection. Also Zoiper offers great simplicity with enhanced interface to bring a smooth and satisfying VoIP communications experience. Figure 4.The Zoiper' interface Also it is necessary to choose the right audio codec for VoIP transmission which ensure us the right quality of MOS from 3,5 to 4. In this case the best choice for us will be a G.729 codec a speech codec, with the low-latency G.729 audio data-compression algorithm, which partitions speech into 10-ms frames. It uses an algorithm called conjugate-structure ACELP (CS-ACELP). G.729 compresses 16-bit signals sampled at 8 kHz via 10-ms frames into a standard bit rate of 8 kbps, but it also supports 6.4-kbps and 11.8-kbps rates. In addition, it supports voice-activity detection and comfort-noise generation.
bridges from East Asia, possibly in a single migration. Different tribes and their way of life The men were hunters, warriors, and protectors, while the women tended to the children, their homes, and farmed. It depended on the tribe when it came to artwork. In some tribes, the men would actually weave baskets and blankets. Natural foods were consumed and hunted. Deer, buffalo, fish, and various birds were the game of choice. Corn, beans, squash, berries, nuts, and melons were the fruits and vegetables that were consumed. Berries were also often used as a natural dye for fabrics. For the Indians of the Northeast area, the trees of the forest were the primary material for shelter, tools and fuel, and the animals of the forest were the primary food source. But the Northeast Woodland Native Americans were not solely hunters and gatherers, but also fishermen and farmers.

the help of one of the girls she interrogates and with the victim's fingernail. The other detectives had jumped into wrong conclusions and would have arrested the wrong suspect but Ms Marple saved him from the worst possible thing that could happen to him. I chose this book because I have read Christie's books before and they have been interesting. I like crime stories and this book has got very good feedback from readers. I'm very satisfied with my choice because it really was a good read because the storyline was interesting and complicated because there were many possible murderers. I did not know who's the real murderer until the very end. Miss Marple's methods for solving crimes are different and interesting. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who is fond of crimestories because it was a joy to read it.

everyday speech, slang, etc.), (2) social distance (determined by society – such terms as Miss, Mr, nicknames, use of last or first names, etc. help us understand how close or distant a relationship is, and (3) politeness between the speaker and the addressee (use of the formal ‘teie’ in Estonian; politeness phrases, such as ‘please’, ‘could’, ‘shall’, ‘would you mind’, etc.). Mode- The second sub-parameter of language use is mode (moodus/vahend); in essence, this is the choice between speaking and writing. Some languages might have words that are almost exclusively used in either written or spoken language and to use them in the other context would make the text seem badly constructed (an example in English could be the use of internet slang in verbal speech – if one were to say lmao, wtf, lol, brb, etc. it probably sounds quite odd and they are better left for written speech). Usually translators don’t really come into

Everyone has their own favorite sport, so do I. My favourite sport is football. I'm not very much a football player myself but I really like to watch the games on TV. Sometimes I play football with my classmates at the gym lessons. There are many reasons why football is my favorite game: I like it because it is exciting and challenging, it teaches teambuilding, discipline as well as teamwork. And probably the fact that my friends consider football as their favourite sport, has influenced my choice as well. Although I have seen a lot of football matches on TV, I have unfortunately had only one chance to go and see the game in the field. This was an experience I would like to repeat. It was much interesting to watch the game in the real field and I was much more excited about the game. Football is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. It is a ball game played on a rectangular grass field with a goal at each end. The objective of the
