The Estonian Education System The current Estonian education system consists of pre-school education, basic education, general secondary education, vocational education and higher education. Basic education is the compulsory education minimum, whics is provided by basic schools. Estonian law requires all children to be in full-time education from age of seven. In Estonia the National Curriculum is compulsory for all schools. The academic year begin on the first of September and is divided into four terms. So pupils have four holidays: a week in October, two weeks at Christmas, a week in March and three months in summer. Most Estonian children receive free education in state schools. Over the years things have changed and more couples tend not to make so strong commitments any more. It seems to me that marriage is losing it´s meaning and traditional values. What would be the reasons? To begin with, I believe it is strongly connected with the high standards people have. I find that people are quite distrustful of each other, that is why they prefer not to make serious relationships. It think that avoiding serious commitments is like a self-protection. In this sense break-up would be easier to manage with than divorce. We need to be very certain about our partner and feel secure before getting married. What is more, a lot of people nowadays have been married before. They already have
lives and pursuits. At times, I get some of that noise near my home, and I certainly call the police when I hear offenders in my own neighborhood. My insistence at having them enforce current regulations in my area has made a difference. I am also reviewing our local noise ordinance and speaking with others who are interested in putting an end to this offensive behavior that takes away from our quality of life. When the boom box noise has been controlled in this area, I would be pleased to begin using your store again. Marge Veskemaa Distance learning is a challenge To begin with, distance learning is very difficult. However, there are some positive things. I can plan my school work mostly. Some teachers gives a time when you need to be ready. This would mean that we can´t just lay down and relax all day. I think they give enough time and student should get ready with their work.
