Rowling was on a train in England when she suddenly had an idea for a story she could write. She had enjoyed writing ever since she was a young girl, but there was something about the main character in this story that seemed especially exciting. He was a thin, black-haired boy who wore glasses. He was also a wizard, but didn't yet know about his magical powers. His name was Harry Potter. Harry has since made Rowling (whose pen name is J.K. Rowling) the richest author in the world. Her six books about his adventures have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide and exist in more than 50 different languages. Most of the readers are children or young teenagers, but the books are unusual in the way that they also appeal to adults. Each of the six books covers about a year in Harry's life as he grows from a boy into a teenager. then, I secretly downloaded the book to her computer and carried on reading, my only response to her chatter being an occasional glance, nod or ''mmh''. To someone, who obviously has a certain fondness for Twilight, not much explanation is needed to why I so suddenly fell unexplainably, deeply in love with it. However, even then, I wasn't entirely blinded, or at least blinded enough not to notice the poor writing skills of the author, the blandness and lack of development of the characters and several cringeworthy scenes that I was able to forgive, at first. So I decided to reread it, with a more critical view, eventually coming to a conclusion, that frankly, ''Twilight'' is one incredibly shoddy piece of literature. Shoddy enough to be somewhat enjoyable, likeable, or socalled ''guilty pleasure'', but still, completely, utterly, supremely, exceedingly shoddy.

The paper is written in Estonian. The theme of the paper is alternatives to the traditional facial treatment in beauty salons in Estonia. The theme is topical, because constantly new opportunities and products for facial treatments are developed and launched. This was also the reason for the author to write the course paper on that subject. The problem is that the effect of traditional facial treatment is traumatic to the skin, uncomfortable for the client and its results are short-term. The aim of the paper is to work out recommendations for alternative methods of facial treatment. How genre and narrative makes meaning in ``The Black Dahlia`` When analyzing a film, people understand the movie is much more complicated than it seems. To make a difference, to give a meaning to the film, film-makers have used different visual and thematic features. There are macro features (genre, narrative) as well as micro features (mise en scene, cinematography) and they are linked together in many ways. I have chosen to analyse the closing sequence of ``The Black Dahlia``, directed by Brian de Palma, and I will focus on macro features in this essay.
