Lying is a natural and inevitable part of any good relationship

People can be upset, sad or angry and say something they think is true, but later on regret it. These situations can be avoided by telling little lies. On the other hand, lies can hurt and make people feel betrayed. Noone wants to find out that they have been left out of something or mislead. Often lies are told to spare someones feelings, but in the end it is the lie itself and broken trust that hurts more than the initial deed. Therefore there can not be an universal answer. Lies are definitely an avoidable part of everyones lives and can make everything better, but also worse. It depends on whether lies are used to cover up problems or to make someone feel better.

Vormistamine ülesanne 3

Juhendaja: Tallinn 2021 TABLE OF CONTENTS 2 1 THE CORNERSTONES OF SURVEY RESEARCH 1.1 Introduction The idea of conducting a survey is deceptively simple. It involves identifying a specific group or category of people and collecting information from some of them in order to gain insight into what the entire group does or thinks; however, undertaking a survey inevitably raises questions that may be difficult to answer. How many people need to be surveyed in order to be able to describe fairly accurately the entire group? How should the people be selected? What questions should be asked and how should they be posed to respondents? In addition, what data collection methods should one consider using, and are some of those methods of collecting data better than others? And, once one has collected the information, how should it be analyzed and reported? Deciding to do a survey

The letter to Australia

Did you see any animals in nature? Do you know that the cutest animal spends 80% of its time asleep in eucalyptus tree? I didn't know it before. Australian most famous landmarks are an ancient rock in the desert, a modern opera house in Sydney harbour and a huge coral reef off the north-east coast. I remember when you talked about your dream you wanted to visit Sydney opera house. Did you made your dream true? I hope you did it! I hope, that you answer me soon. With best wishes, xxx

“What does success come from?”

"What does success come from?" "What does success come from?"is a question that every one wants to know exactly the answer. The first group of people thinks that taking risks or chances is what a person needs to become successful in his life while the second one whom I agree with believes that careful planning is the most important cause of our success in life. Careful planning may be simply considered as preparation that can be understood that one identifies his aim, lists his steps, and does a research if necessary. Analyzing it in that way, we can know why it becomes the most important cause of success. An English saying goes: "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunities". With such a careful plan, I am sure that we will have enough abilities to realize a lot of opportunities and seize them. Having prepared, one will be able to have a general look at the opportunity. He can evaluate the chan...

Marriage is an outdated institution

Marriage is an outdated institution Is marriage a wonderful institution nowadays, when the meaning of this word is totally different from the meaning that expanded many years ago? Is this document which indicate the union of two people who have given a permission to love each other in sickness and in health, until the death do they part is the evidence of everlasting love? I think the answer for these questions is No and I would talk about my opinions why i think so. First of all, i think everyone know that the rate of divorces is quite high. For example, 50% percent of first marriages, 67% of second and 74% of third marriages end in divorce in America. There are many reasons why this happen and people get divorced. Infidelity, poor communication, change in priorities and cte. Nobody can't say that it does no happen to us, because we love each other so much

A New Beginning

..It means I mustn`t return to That place anymore...What should I do?" Suddenly the cloudy autumn sky turned red and the rider heard some wild animal roaring. This was unacceptable to his brave lionheart and he ran off to the forest not looking back even once. He wandered pointlessly many hours thinking of his friend whom was taken away by some mysterios beast. "Maybe the Devil really exists?" he whispered anxiously to the trees, but they didn`t give him an answer, they only swayed in the chilly wind. Finally there was light ahead, so the rider thanked the Queen and hurried towards an unexpected destination. He hoped it to be a village or even better a small city. But all his dreams broke when he suddenly heard this loud wild noise again. This time he didn`t run off, but still, he tried to stay in the bushes near the shadows of the trees. Carefully, like a small child discovering the world he moved towards the light. And what

For and against capital punishment

form a crime. In this occasion death of a convict seems to be the best way to revenge for the sorrowness and pain that has been inflicted . In the other hand, many people cannot live with knowing that someone just died for the things one did, just becuse of a slight malformation, which had nothing to do with his free will. Now he is dead. Does it make the feeling any better, or did it delete all the ill memories or anger? The only answer is : no, it did not. In conclusion a capital punishment is not the best way to punish a man. All the ones, who have been sentenced to death, have claimed just minutes before dying, that death is just the thing they want and they are very satisfied with it, and this knowing has even encouraged them to commit a crime. In their minds, a life-time prisonment is more severe than capital punishment. If convicts say that death penalty is more a relief than a punishment, so why on

As a result Ruhnau didn't loss. His decision to cover half an explosure brought to company 225 mil. DEM, because in the worst case if he used full forward cover company would pay 1,6 billion DEM against 1,375 billion Ruhnau paid. 3)In 1985 the foreing currency options were a related new financial instrument for explosure management. Also analysts thought that 96 mil dollars was too big money amount for the purchase of an instrument, which hedger expected not to use. 4)We cant exactly answer, why Herr Ruhnau preffered Boeing to Airbus. But we can suppose that quality of Boeing jet and its technical characteristics surpassed Airbus jets. Also we can suppose thar Herr Ruhnau got a very good offer from Boeing and bought jets at a discount price. In conclusion we must to say that Board of Lufthansa should retain Herr Heinz Ruhnau as Chairman because he achieved a significant business results.

Politics and religion

On the one hand, starting a conversation with this topics can be safe, If both participants are not arguing, but just unbiased and discussing it. Everything depends of place, where you have met this new person. If you had met him somewhere at conference, where is suitable to talk about politics, then it could be fine. You can start a conversation with different questions like: "Hello, which political party you belong to?" - It would not be criminal. This person will answer you, if he wants to. Then you can keep on with your questions and try to promote this conversation. On the other hand, starting a conversation with topics like that in some public place is not very good. Because, who wants to listen something about politics in club or caffee. And seriously, who cares which religion are you connected with. It only could bring you the misfortune. Besides, if you want to meet a new friend you should not start conversation like that

Should mercy killing be punished? Mercy killing, also known as euthanasia, refers to the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering. This type of killing is legal in some countries, but should it be punished instead? Although, it is still a type of killing, it is for a good cause. There are people who suffer and want to rather die than to endure agonies, euthanasia is an answer for them. Thus, mercy killing is very humane and reasonable thing to do and does not deserve punishment. The negative aspect of euthanasia is that it is still a form of killing. One should not be in judge over others life, even when it is for a good cause. The fact that euthanasia could be misused is not less important. In conclusion, although mercy killing is a form of taking someone’s life, it should not be punishable when it is for greater good.

Celebrity

A celebrity is a person who works hard all his life to become well known, and then wears darkglasses to avoid being recognized. A celebrity is a person who works hard all his life to become well known, and then wears darkglasses to avoid being recognized. Who wouldn't want to be in the spotlight? Being a celebrity means having nice cars, gigantic villas, clothes from famous fashions designers and a shot on the front cover of a magazine each week. The first answer among children to the question `Who would you like to be in the future?' most likely tends to be a singer, a model, a dancer, or simply: a superstar. Some parents wish to realise their dreams on their children. For example, in their youth they aspired to become famous, but failed and now force their children to work hard to realise their dreams for them. A perfect example for such faith is Michael Jackson. His father started to create a superstar of Michael when he was in a very early age

The Internet is making literature irrelevant

world Stanislav Stõkov MASB11 When computers were not so spread as they are today, and the Internet had not appeared in the lives of people, we used to spend much more time reading. Literature and books were our best friends, and one of the most important ways on entertainment. Nowadays, if you ask a person, when he or she has read last a book and what the book's title was, the person will not know what to answer. Nobody reads any more, or if they do it is on the internet and only a summary so as not to get tired too much. The Internet entertains superficially, as people do not gain too much by ''surfing'' it. Yes, maybe a new pair of glasses for spending so much time in front of a computer. I do not say there are no educating websites that are worth visiting, that really help, but their number is quite small.

Car v. walking

Some people don't even know that cars are one of the biggest nature and air polluters, cars are the major producers of carbon dioxide. Also cars are very expensive compared with walking, you need to buy a car and then regularly fill the car with petrol, what costs a lot of money and then there is the insurance and so on and on. But when you are walking you don't need to waste money and you can enjoy the beautiful weather. To sum up the whole story, there is no correct answer, which is better, travelling by car or walking on foot. In each travelling ways there have their pluses and minuses, when you want to travel long distance you better take a car and when you want to be healthy and save the nature you better walk. When you don't like any of these travelling ways, don't worry, there is plenty more different ways of travel waiting for you.

Workday needs fairy tales

Workday needs fairy tales Every person has a way to escape the day to the wonderland, through the music, the art of movies, or through the books. Person can loose a job, all the collected treasure, their love. Even if they have just one friend who cares and supports them, they are not alone. It is very encouraging to think that there is someone who will run to help you, when everyone else turn their back. Music is something that can light up the worst day. Music is filled with many feelings, many words and a lot of soul. Music is like a good friend who is always there. If a soul is filled with hate, music is the one to answer with raw, aggressive and straight forward sound. When the mood seems hopeless, it's music that surprisingly lifts the corners of your mouth with it's swinging and rhythmic melodies. Speech: Ideas are our greatest weapons

Someone had probably felt that his or her legs got tired and sitting on floor might not be so comfortable, so one chose to invent a chair. Think of it- even floor, where people used to sit before chairs were invented is certainly someone's idea and invention. Isn't it strange to think like that? You are probably wondering that why are those ideas then so important? It's a good question and there is no way that it could have that one and only answer. I think that all of you have come across some contests, where good ideas are being searched. For example, several months ago I noticed a contest made by very well-known technology company that was searching for new ideas to implement, which prize pool was up to 2000€. It sounds like a big amount of cash, doesn't it ? In reality, that 2000€ for a company like that is NOTHING, but if your idea finds use in everyday life, then they are able to make Millions out of your idea

who becomes the biggest quiz-show winner in history, only to be sent to jail on accusations (but with no evidence or proof) that he cheated. It was the basis of the 2008 feature film Slumdog Millionaire. The novel was re-published under the title Slumdog Millionaire after the success of the film. The book is divided into 14 topics (included the prologue and the epilogue). Each chapter of the book focuses on questions and answers from the quiz-show, but also a story, how Ram Mohammad Thomas knew answer for all the questions he was asked for. One of the main reasons whay I started to read this book, was the success of the movie Slumdog Millionaire. Although I had not seen the film I thought that the theme of the book and the film was very interesting. So I decided to read the novel first, because the chances are (predictably and almost consistently so), I would like the book better. Most of the movies that were based on books

Essay about Chinese language taking over English

Will Chinese become more important than English in the near future? As David Graddol, a visiting professor in Hong Kong, says in "Will Chinese take over from English as the world's most important language?", he must often answer the questions concerning Chinese importance over English. Graddol states that China's economy is growing and it is already second in the world. In fact, it has become the largest exporter and first in energy consumption. In addition, China will presumably be the largest manufacturer soon. However, he questions whether Chinese language grows at the same pace as its economy. Graddol's teaching in Hong Kong starts with a lecture called "World Englishes". He notes that he

Shakespeare " A midsummer night's dream"

William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Nights Dream is about love. Shakespeare creates for readers a world of wonder. How true is my love? Will it stay true? Is there a destiny for me? Do I make my own destiny? With that we see Hermia and Lysander. Their love is found to be altered throughout the story. Can you tell who you are going to love tomorrow, do you know for sure that you wont wake up tomorrow infatuated with someone else? Is love predictable? For many the answer to that question is yes but thinking logically you can't choose love. "I would my father looked but with my eyes." (Act I scene 1 line 57 Hermia). Hermia'a father Egeus has chosen for her a husband. Hermia is in love with someone already. Hermia won't have her life be chosen for her and she decides to elope with her love. This is exciting and they only think they will love forever because this love is so true. But puck puts a spell on Lysander to fall in love with Hermias best friend Helena

For example, your child will respond better if you tell them what you want them to do, rather than what you want them to stop doing. Try, ,,Kaido, put your shoes on the rack," rather tan ,,Do not put your shoes on the floor." Every cildren needs some time for answering, not every brain is fast thinking. It sometimes need only few seconds more to wait child answer. Every sentence what you say to your siblings has to be simple. You can not say ," Kuldar, take your shoes off, brush your tooths ,wash your face and clean your room and come hear," it is better when you say ,,Kuldar , take your shoes off , wash your tooths and face and then come hear." Parents ideas have to be clear , but it is good if you give choices it can give independence

when I was dining at the Babyback Ribs &Bbq restaurant. To start from the beginning, at first when we entered the restaurant there was no-one to serve us. Then, when we had waited for a long time a young girl came to us and asked us if we had a table booked, we answered that we did not and so we were given the menus and lead to available seatings. When we had decided what to have there was once again no-one to serve us and when the waitress finally showed up she could not answer our questions about the specifics of the menu. Finally we came to a conclusion that I would take the french fries, but without jalapeno, which I especially accentuated. After 15 minutes of more waiting the dishes arrived, but there was still jalapeno in my food. I was really disappointed and took the dish back, saying it was not what I ordered. The waitress looked a me poshly and did not even apologise, but just took the dish and went into the kitchen. After 5 minutes she returned and

Presentatsioon keskkonnast

Presentation about enviroment Good afternoon everyone. First, let me introduce myself. My name is Valter and I am a student of Tallinn University of Technology. I'd like to talk about environment, its pollution and protecting. I shall only take 3 minutes of your time. Let me begin with the word enviroment and what it means! It means surroundings in which people, animals and plants exist. These are the things that we need, to be alive, but they are also many man-made things and technical progresses that harm the nature. Therefore we can´t live on this planet without basic components which are needed for human existence - air, water and soil. Firstly air, which is mostly a mixture of oxygen and nitrogen. People, animals and plants can ´t live without air. Without oxygen there would be no fire. So we can see, that air is the basic condition for life on the Earth. Did you know that till 18th century people...

Tolerance and diversity

On the other hand people have always liked the diversity of this world. For example, we can't imagine life without our Chinese food, Italian pasta and especially McDonalds , can we? We have to admit that it would be very unpleasant without simple things like these so is it so hard for us to cope with different types of people? We live our lives differently and see the world in different ways, everyone use words that they feel like using , but in the end we are all trying to answer the same question. There is no such thing as the correctness of one people with his religion because each and every one of us thinks that the one he believes is the only real. You do not have to like the same food, dress the same way or listen to the same music as your friends do. But always be opened to get to know about these differences. If your behaviour do not accord to the persons expectations then it will hurt him and you will get disrespected. Many of us don't have the

To Room Nineteen

“To Room Nineteen” “To room nineteen” is considered to be one of the best short stories by Doris Lessing. The book takes place in a mid-twentieth century in London suburb. It gives insight about women’s rights and London society on these days. Showes how the perfect lives as they seemed from outside, acctually weren’t that ideal on the inside. The book itself is about a middle-aged woman, Susan, whose life is spinning around her four children, ideal husband and lovely home. Everything seems to be just perfect. When the youngest child went off to school, the seeming peace in this family is soon gone. Susan didn’t find the sense of freedom that she expected. She started thinking about herself she lost in her marriege life and was filled with emotions that were not inherent to her.. As she discovered that it was housework, children and husband, that made her lose her self-identity, she stared to hate everythin...
