of his popularity; for he was discovered to be proud; to be above his company, and above being pleased; and not all his large estate in Derbyshire could then save him from having a most forbidding, disagreeable countenance, and being unworthy to be compared with his friend. Mr. Bingley had soon made himself acquainted with all the principal people in the room; he was lively and unreserved, danced every dance, was angry that the ball closed so early, and talked of giving one himself at Netherfield. Such amiable qualities must speak for themselves. What a contrast between him and his friend! Mr. Darcy danced only once with Mrs. Hurst and once with Miss Bingley, declined being introduced to any other lady, and spent the rest of the evening in walking about the room, speaking occasionally to one of his own party. His character was decided. He was the proudest, most disagreeable man in the

Oliver. Toby asked for food and drink before he would tell his tale, and so Fagin supplied him with the requested provisions. Finally, Toby asked them where Sikes was and Fagin became upset. Toby then told the tale of the robbery and how Oliver had been shot. He said that he and Bill separated and left Oliver in the ditch because they were trying to save themselves. At this Fagin screamed and left the building terribly angry and upset that he lost Oliver. Chapter 26: Fagin wandered the streets and went to the market place where the thieves sell their wares. He asked for information on Sikes and not finding any, went to a place called The Cripples. Again he asked for information of Sikes and found none. about his leave. He realizes that she would find him more exciting if he were going to the front. When Paul reaches his hometown, he finds that his mother is ill with cancer and that the civilian population is slowly starving. He cannot shake a feeling of "strangeness"; he no longer feels at home in his family's house. His mother asks if it was "very bad out there." Paul lies to her. He has no words to describe his experiences--at least no words that she would understand. A major becomes angry that Paul does not salute him in the street. As a punishment, he forces Paul to do a march in the street and salute smartly. Paul wishes to avoid further such incidents, so he begins wearing civilian clothing. Paul's father, unlike his mother, keeps asking him questions. He doesn't understand that it is dangerous for Paul to put his experiences into words. Others who don't ask questions take too much pride in their silence. Sometimes the

The phonetic arrangement is inseparably linked with the meaning and message. Phonetically we distinguish between prosodic means and orchestration of sounds. Prosodic means include such phenomena of speech as loudness, pitch, acceleration or slowing down the tempo, pausation, stress and intonation. In this respect, the written text is far from perfect. Much of it can be pronounced differently and so understood differently. The pitch depends on the state of excitement. It is high when one is angry and low when one is disappointed, sorrowful or desperate. The tempo is slow when we feel sadness and it's fast when we feel anger, fear, joy and other momentary feelings. Loudness depends on many factors. Diminished loudness expresses intimacy, shyness, mildness but also threat and warning. A loud voice shows familiarity, a fear to be misunderstood, etc. Stress: · Logical stress--singles out words that are primary in the given context (I didn't mean you, I meant everybody)

1. STYLE The term "style" is polysemantic (has many meanings): a Latin word "stilus" originally meant a writing instrument used by ancient people. Already in classical Latin the meaning was extended to denote the manner of expressing one's ideas in written or oral form. Jonathan Swift defined style as "proper words in proper places". In present day English the word "style" is used in about a dozen of principle meanings: 1. the characteristic manner in which a writer expresses his/her ideas (e.g. style of Byron) 2. the manner of expressing ideas, characteristic of a literary movement or period 3. the use of language typical of a literary genre (e.g. the style of a comedy, drama, novel). 4. the selective use of language that depends on spheres / areas of human activity (e.g. style of fiction, scientific prose, newspapers, business correspondence, etc.). obedience was accurately operationalized. Triangulation (many research methods e.g. observation, survey, interview) was used. In the Stanford prison study by Zimbardo, 24 college students were put in a simulated prison and observed throughout the period of 6 days. Half of the participants were put in the role of guards and half in the role of prisoners. Already in the morning of the second day of the observation, a rebellion among the prisoners broke out. The guards got angry and frustrated and started to harass and intimidate the prisoners. They developed many strategies to strengthen their power. During the studies, some of the prisoners became so distressed that they had to leave the experiment after a few days. Even the researchers themselves and the participants' parents started acting fitting to the prison schema. When a rumor about a prison break stroke, the researchers became more concerned about keeping the prisoners in, rather than collecting data and

to us as an African race. I decided to write ‘Capitalist Nigger’ to open a debate on the state of the African race. But in doing so, my intention was not to treat my own contribution to the debate with kid gloves. It is to tell it like it is, the truth and nothing but the truth. My observations are bound to infuriate a lot of my people. Even the title of the title of the book is bound to make a lot of people angry. Many people will be angry, to say it mildly, when I question the intelligence of my people compared to the Asians (Indians, Pakistanis, Malaysians, Filipinos) and others who attained independence at the same time as most African countries. If the book generates the kind of dialogue, debate or argument for or against the position I have taken, so be it. But it would even be more relevant if in the process, solutions are offered to help extricate Africans from being a consumer to a productive race.

Onomastika, nimekorraldus

Ka omal ajal kaitstud nimed, mille eest inimesed maksid suuri summasid riigikassasse, on praegu jäetud kaitseta. Eesnimede puhul võimaldab kehtiv seadus perekonnaseisuametnikel vanemate arututele soovidele nime valides vaid õige piiratud ulatuses vastu astuda. Kokkuleppeliselt on heade tavade ja kommete alla mahutatud keeld panna nimeks tähenduselt kohatuid sõnu, numbreid ja üksikuid tähti (sh nt Jr., Jun.). Kuid neidki on sünniregistrisse kantud, nt tüdrukutele Angry (ingl vihane), Bajana, Demona, Grisli, Marle, Silli (sm heeringas, ingl silly rumal, lollakas), Tsirkka (vrd circa); poistele Amor, Banda, Beg (ingl paluma, kerjama), Demo, Ego, Eros, Heikko (sm nõrk, jõuetu), Hermo (sm närv), Jonni, Klein (sks väike), Lucifer, Mango, Sagris; Vladimir Teine. Noah, the eldest is passive, he is listless, disinterested in life, never upset, never angry, very passive. His brother tom could even claim that he is the male protagonist. At the beginning of the novel he comes back from prison, because he killed a man in a fight accidentally, he is good nature. He is the most moral of the characters, he wants peace and quiet. Al is completely different, he is crazy for girls and cars. Rose is rather simple minded and she has a dream, she wants white house with a white fence, husband with a good income and children, and she is pregnant

" Glancing at the clock, I saw it was creeping past six. "I have to get ready now. Be careful at work, okay? I worry about you, too." "Will do. Bye, baby." The familiar sign-off had me missing him so much my throat hurt. "Oh, wait! I'm getting a new cell phone. I'll text you the number as soon as I have it." "Again? You just got a new one when you moved." "Long, boring story." "Hmm...Don't put it off. They're good for safety as well as playing Angry Birds." "I'm over that game!" I laughed and warmth spread through me to hear him laughing, too. "I'll call you in a few days. Be good." "That's my line." We hung up. I sat for a few moments in the ensuing silence, feeling like everything was right in my world, which never lasted long. I brooded on that for minute; then Cary cranked up Hinder on his bedroom stereo and that kicked my butt into gear. I hurried to my room to get ready for a night with Gideon.

Cats

AMBER AND RUSSET - LATE COLOUR CHANGE GENES Copyright 2014, Sarah Hartwell The ancestors of the domestic cat were nondescript black/brown striped tabbies. Over the centuries, mutation produced a wide array of colours based on 2 different pigments. Eumelanin gives the blacks, browns and blues while phaeomelanin gives the reds, fawns and creams. A few other genes give further variations on those colours such silvers, colourpoints and solids/selfs. Mutations continue to occur and unexpected colours also turn up due to inbreeding where recessive genes, hidden for generations, start showing up. AMBER AND LIGHT AMBER During the 1990s, some purebred Norwegian Forest Cats in Sweden produced chocolate/lilac and cinnamon/fawn offspring. However, those colours are not found in the purebred Norwegian Forest Cat gene pool. Had the gene pool become polluted by someone, perhaps generations ago, breeding their Norwegian Forest Cat to another breed? ...
