Technology - for or against

a contemporary computer instead.. On the other hand, up-to-date technology may replace human's labour. We entrust technology a lot of duties, so that it can have harmful consequences. If technology progresses, there will be no need for human's work. As a result, the part of population will become unemployed. Furthermore, technology has an effect on psyche, especially children are at risk of it. They lose themselves in the individualistic activities and a bedroom becomes a place to socialise. All in all, technology has as positive and as negative effect. It will be beneficial if we appreciate humanity more than technology and do not forget about its cons.

Life away from home may be alluring but hard

You can set your own rules, stay up late, invite friends to your place and have parties whenever you want, but you need to be mature enough to handle it. Disadvantage is that you may feel homesick. Another disadvantage is that you will have to pay rent, bilss, and buy your own food which will definitely affect you in the financial aspect. Finally, another aspect is convenience. You will not have many things that you used to have at home. You will have less free time for other activities because you will spend more time doing housework, balancing the budget and organizing things by yourself. In conclusion, even though living away from home can be good since it gives you a feeling of freedom and autonomy, living at home has more advantages contrasted with it.

Modern electronic games

not seem to find any positive aspects about them. But are electronic games really that bad for you? Of course, like anything else, video games can be addictive, which may lead to eye damage. The impact of excessive visual medium is evident as a large number of children these days start wearing spectacles from an early age. Long hours of playing can also result in headaches and dizziness. When played moderately, video games have many benefits. The activities and actions on the screen provide a lot of mental stimulation, improving coordination, concentration and problem-solving skills. Online gaming enables many players to engage in a particular game simultaneously. There is constant communication between the players which in turn results in the development of meaningful as well as casual relationships among them. Even cadults can bond with their children while playing together. Modern electronic games are negative only when played irresponsibly

Where would you prefer to live and why?

I would prefer to live in a big city instead of a village or a small town. For example Tallinn, London, New York or Paris. To start with, I would like to live in a big city because of its advantages. Big cities usually have more opportunities to spend your day and night. There are cinemas, coffee shops, theatres, shopping centres, libraries and night clubs. Although you need money to attend different exhibitions and shows big city also offers you free activities. Secondly, there are lots of banks, company offices and factories where people can work. That is the second reason I think big city life is better than a life in a small village. Last but not least, people usually think that they would not like to live in a big city because there are too many people there and they would feel suffocated. But there are areas outside the centre of the town where people live. Big cities also have good roads and big parking lots.

Computers breed laziness and discontent

In my opinion not exercising can make people stressed and unsatisfied. Finally, we think that is very comfort to communicate with friends and other people via Internet. This kind of communication can lead to unsociability because people are in need of showing they`re emotions. Moreover, some people think that it is more comfortable not to accociate with others at all. To sum up, computers are making our lives too easy. People were created to operate with different kind of activities and if they are spending most of their time behind computer they will get disaffected.

other types of transportation. Terrorism in the Internet has also decreased, whereas computer specialists develop better hardwares to avoid crimes in electronically. Furthermore people are more aware of the jeopardies in the Internet. Terrorism in religious countries is fairly nonsense. War between the two different beliefs will probably never end. Apart from the religious views, remaining world knows how to form its attitude. Media gives us a good overview from the activities and that is the way people learn about the evilness and know how to handle it. To summarise I would say that people are more aware and know the traps of life. Nevertheless we all fall for these things, although that's the way people learn. In my opinion terrorism has had a positive influence in world history.

person's education. All parts of body must work together properly to maintain physical health. A person who is in good physical condition has the strength and energy to enjoy an active life. Physical fitness benefits both physical and mental health. It helps the body to withstand stresses that otherwise could cause physical and emotional problems. Daily exercise provides greatest benefits, and so it is important to choose exercises that can be performed every day. Such popular activities are bicycling, jogging, swimming and even taking long walks. Rest and sleep help overcome fatigue and restore energy to the body. Everyone needs rest and health, but the amount required differs from each individual. Rest and relaxation are as important as sleep. After hard work or exercise, a person may need a period of total rest. At other times, only relaxation or a change of pace is necessary. Any activity that differs from the normal routine of work or study can be relaxing.

more likely, when they are presented in an authentic environment (old schoolhouse, museums, battle fields). Outdoor education makes it possible for the students to have hands- on lessons, which gives them personal experiences, opinions and understanding that they will most likely to remember. Outdoor education creates meaningful learning experiences when teachers help children to move beyond simple observations to more complex activities that require higher-level thinking and collaboration with peers. Students nowadays do not spend as much time outside as the generation before them. This situation might cause them health problems and wrong lifestyle choices. Reasons why they are spending less and less time outside are that today we have so many indoor activities that students are keen on and parents are too cautious, preventing accidents. Outdoor

A review of a film

Paranormal activity Paranormal activity is a horror movie directed by Oren Peli. After Katie (Katie Featherston) and Micah (Micah Sloat) move into a new house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Micah points the camera at their bed every night, recording the horrific activities around their sleeping forms. The bedroom door swings ominously open and closed and footsteps can be heard on the stairway. The films main focus relies heavily on sound and atmosphere. And a refreshing aspect lies in the minimal amount of special effects. As the camera begins to capture paranormal events, night after night, with increasing intensity, the tension is huge. Many of the scenes and camera angles are repeated since Micah

During the festival the Old Town of Tartu is divided into three areas, each representing a different historical era. Most of the events take place in Jaani town which takes people back into the hanseatic times. The streets are filled with stalls where artisans are selling their products and there are also many different activities for children and adults. The River town is all about ancient times. There are blacksmiths demonstrating their job and healers selling different herbs. In Rae town people can get back to the modern days and relax in a restaurant, watch different dance and music performances or go shopping in the large marketplace. All in all the Hanseatic Days are a nice tradition and have something for everyone.

Is it better to live in a city or is the countryside?

An essay Nowadays most people live in a city. However, there are also people living in the countryside. They are two entirely different ways of life - each with their own advantages and disadvantages. Most of the younger generation lives in the city because there is much more to do than in the countryside. You can go to the cinema, to a theatre, shopping, clubbing, to a gym etc. You will never run out of activities to do. While that may be true, there are some things that you can only do in the countryside for example going fishing, camping or playing outside with your pets. A calm rural lifestyle is for people who enjoy peace and quiet. In addition to that there is fresh air, which is good for your health. You are also more likely to be more active and walk in the nature. Having said that, in the city there are hospitals and drugstores nearby, so if you get sick or injured, you will have drugs

Letter of application

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to apply for a place at Winston University to receive a degree in History. I am 19 years old, graduated from La Serna High School this past fall, and I am ready to start a new chapter in my life. Starting from my sophomore year, I took all AP classes and obtained four A levels my senior year in Spanish, History, Anatomy and Theology. I was elected to our school’s Associated Student Body where I had the responsibility of caring for our school’s financial activities as the treasurer. I also received Honors and a Seal of Biliteracy. History has had always a big part of my life. I knew I wanted to be a history teacher at the age of 13 when I was in junior high in Yorba Linda. Since then, I have read tons of history-based books and mostly focused on the Postclassical era. Last semester I went to Cambodia and filmed a documentary about Angkor Wat. This work was extremely enjoyable and I feel the urge to do something amazing like this again.

What should we do to live longer?

for everyone. Smoking damages our health. Acctually non-smokers life is much longer, than people who smoke, because smokers can get lung cancer, which usually means death. For example, of course many people are drinking a lot too. By my side, I think drinking is not so bad, but you need to border mind. Young people consume too much alcohol what is very bad to their healt. However, very important thing is doing sports. Sport helps to be in the form. Thanks to sport activities we can move and this is very important to your body. You should be an active. Finally, we need to rest a lot and sleep. Sleeping helps our body to rest. If we do not sleep, then our body is very tied. When we are rested, then we are more entertaining and friendly. All in all, our life is in our hands. When we do sport, eat healthy, rest, do not smoke and drink in moderation and have good environment, then we live longer.

Essee "Should people prefer going out or staying at home?"

I think that many people use their leisure time in wrong way. They sit in their homes and they don't do nothing useful. They watch television and sit in front of their computers. Then they eat and srink some junkfood like popcorns and coca-cola they are not healthy people. Many doctors are worried of children, because they are overweight and their eyes are damaged. I prefer the other topic, that people should prefer to go outside. There are so many interesting activities to do outside.Like you might go out with your family and do something new.Like you can go fishing which is very popular in summertime. You can do sports which is very good for your health and you can stay fit.But what is the most important you are a healthy person, when you go out and keep yourself busy with your friends or family. Health is the secret of beauty. It does not cost much and every person can afford it to himself.Keep fit and be happy!

How to improve life in your hometown?

would like to live there much more. Also it would improve the tourism in this city. It's nice when people who visit your hometown, will remember that they visited such proper and friendly city. It's useful when you have restaurants and shopping centres in our city, because these will be always great tourist magnets. It's good when your hometown has some interest groups and possibilities to enjoy person's hobbies. For the kids and adolescents there should be enough training circules and activities like cinema and places where they can meet and play some games like table tennis or billiards. Every person who lives in the city can protect hometown from pollution in their own way. First of all, it is necessary to sort their rubbish. It's good for global health and ecosystem. There should be posters in the city, which propagets living healthy and economically. I really hope that people will start thinking about it and change their attitude about their hometown as soon as possible.

What can be done to prevent petty crime?

that thouse can be prevented. I support this view for a variety of reasons. To start with petty crime can be prevented with teenagers, the problematical ones in particular should participate to educational courses organised by the state where they can learn everything about these petty crimes an also how to avoid getting in the middle of them. It is very important to organise this meetings in the poor districts where teenagers are prone to ilicit activities such as pickpocketing or even burglery. Another method of reducing petty crime is that the people should learn how to protect their houses and their valuable goods. They should also learn how to protect themselves by thieves in order to not become victims of this criminal activity. It is very important to make people understand that they should also protect themselves because the police can only interfere after the crime.

it turned out to be the best school in our town. There I got a proper training in such subjects as English, Russian and Belarusian literature and world culture. I usually did a lot of home preparation for them and I liked everything I was doing in them. I really tried hard in them. But despite my efforts I was not good at Math. School for me was not only lessons and learning I had a lot of friends there. We organized extra class activities such as parties and other social activities. I actively participated in most of them. I am sociable, so I have got a lot of friends among my schoolmates. As for me I appreciate people's hornesty, kindness, sense of justice and intelligence. I don't like when people are rude and aggressive. I am stubborn at times. But to my mind being persistent is not always a bad thing. It means my aim, I never leave things half done. But this new study, published in Molecular Biology and Evolution, has uncovered an important relationship between the species' decline and human activities. "It is clear that the species has suffered at the hands of human activities such as deforestation and poaching," said Professor Michael Bruford. The research also shows that where habit conservation projects have been properly implemented, the giant panda is flourishing and its numbers are increasing. "Our research suggests we have to revise our thinking about the evolutionary prospects for the giant panda and that the species has a viable future and possesses

Letter

Hi Andrew, The hobbies of yours that you told me about in the last letter seem to be quite interesting. I am also into sports like you are. But your interest about machinery and computer are not so thrilling for me. So now I am going to tell you about my hobbies. I have quite a lot of hobbies, they can be related together as sports. I am into lots of sport activities like cycling, rollerskating, running, swimming and dancing. I like playing foot-, basket- and volleyball. I have been to tennis courses when I was little. I played basketball for about two years and our team was quite successful. I have also been to track and field training, but only for a year. I attended dancing also a year and then made a pause and now I take up dance lessons again. It is freestyle dancing that I am dealing with. I like it a lot. I do other sports just for my self or for fun with my friends. I have also hobbies from other areas. I like photography a lot....

Today it was different than usually. Different lectures started after the sixth lesson. There were more lectures, but unfortunately I couldn't attend them all. The themes of lectures were very interesting. Firstly, the lecture that was carried out by our local general practitioner. She talked about health in general and about the right diet. They showed us how to measure blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol. For me it was hard to focus on the lecture, because all the activities caused a lot of noise and it was hard to listen to the doctor. In my opinion the lecture was very instructive and educational. Secondly, the lecture that was carried out by Tallinn Genetic Engineering Institute's director. The subject of the lecture was very difficult. He discussed genetics in general, the history of DNA and genetic engineering's development. Genetics is a science of heredity. It's a very important part of medicine. In my opinion the lecture was difficult, but very exciting.

Healthy Life

Healthy Life I do not workout. I just do not have time for that and I do not have a mind to do workout sometimes. My way to workout is to play basketball, 90 minutes PE classes once a week and walk with my dog. In summers, I usually watch soccer on television and sometimes play basketball. My mother, father and sister are completely opposites of me. My sister practices swimming and soccer three times a week, including she rides with a bike. My mother bought herself a fitness machine; she uses it twice a week. My father also goes to fitness centre, rides with a bike and runs three times a week. In our family there is only me, who workout with my brain instead to do physical exercises. In addition, my grandparents are not capable to workout; they are too old for that as they say. In my family, many people do different activities. Running, skating, boxing, soccer, icehockey and dancing are...

It´s a student´s life

In the student's defence I have to mention that, we are growing individuals, who develop to be the best contribution and enrichment to our country. So I think it is wrong to judge the book by it's covers. Secondly, it surely is not true that today´s students are lazy and unproductive individuals who do nothing but sit around all day. I know for a fact that a high percentage of students are active in school and after school events and activities. There are some exceptions, who differ form those students. Finally, it is ignorant of you to say that students do not suffer from stress. School is very stressful, specially for a growing and evolving person. Stress is not just for grownups. Students have to deal with it also. In conclusion, I found your article to be inaccurate in its assessment on students life. Since magazine claims that the stories come from real life I hope that future issues will be more objective.
