The best protected area networks performance was achieved by combination of information about connectivity and habitat quality, but no major difference appeared when only connectivity was taken into consideration. In terms of protecting the Baltic Sea, there are many important directives in the European Union that are designed to ensure conservation of natures biodiversity and proper functioning of ecosystem.
