From: ...name Subject: 'Business Today' event Dear Gloria, Thank for you letter informing me of the upcoming 'Business Today' event. I would like to confirm for you that I will attend. I am more than happy to be a speaker at the event and I would like to thank you for the great opportunity to do so. I do have a few questions regarding the speech that I will be giving. Tolerance.

I myself would feel awful, but I wouldn't know what to do either. Although I would condone myself with the idea, that life is difficult and it's just something you have to deal with. But does tolerance mean that all manners should be accepted? No, of course not. Manners that disrespect or hurt others, like being mean or bullying, or manners that break social rules, like lying or stealing, should not be tolerated. Tolerance is about accepting people for who they are -- not about accepting bad behavior. Tolerance also means treating others the way you would like to be treated. Nobody wants to be mocked or even be a victim of physical violence. In reality, we have no idea how much pain our small insignificant words can cause. We may think we are strong, but we fought inconsiderate of the fact, that not all are as strong as us. A person, who has sustained constant mocking in matters, which he might not

Mass Tourism

Mass Tourism As the population grows, technology advances and because of that, tourism is growing very fast. Nowadays, travelling long distances is not a problem and that causes mass tourism. Still, mass tourism has both good and bad sides. On the onehand, there are some advantages with broading mass tourism. In the first place, mass tourism is great because it increases country's income. Moreover, authorities are forced to clean up polluted areas. For example, tourists prefer clean area against dirty and polluted place. Finally mass tourism can increase population of country. In fact, sometimes tourist can go back and start his life there. On the otherhand, unfortunately there are some negative aspects aswell. Firstly, with mass tourism comes pollution. For example, tourist throws carbage on the ground because there are no garbage cans around. Another bad aspect is that to...

Tolerance and diversity

Tolerance and diversity First of all I had to pose myself a question what does tolerance mean to me? I came to the conclusion that for me it means accepting people the way they are- not caring about their appearance, orign, religion, attitude or skin coulor, even if their beliefs and thoughts are not just the same as mine. I think that every one of us should pay respect to other people. I find it interesting to learn about other cultures and how they live. Estonia is a culturally diverse society. It is home to approximately 1,4 million people and not all of them are Estonians. Beside us consider Estonia as their home: Russians,

Essee "Homelessness"

We live in a cruel world where people only think about themselves. There are extremely few people who care about homeless people even though homelessness has greatly increased over the past decade. But why is that so? Are they worse than us? As Mike Yakonski once said: “Sometimes it's easy to walk by because we know we can't change someone's whole life in a single afternoon. But what we fail to realize it that simple kindness can go a long way toward encouraging someone who is stuck in a desolate place.” I can relate to that fairly well because everyday i see homeless people and it makes me extremely sad. When i got a spare change with me i always give it to the ones that need it the most, because i think it is the only thing at the moment that i can do for homeless people. The reasons people lose their home are mostly addictions, losing their job, expelled from school or even family problems. If they have already lost everything, mos...

How far can we go being tolerant?

just unaccept them. Religous percecution is a serious side of intolerance. Jew-baiting has been the bitterest case in history. Their percecution was caused by their antichristian beliefs and holding on to their own religion. Its culmination came during the World War II, when the massive Jew-baiting took place, known as the Holocaust. People's, who obeyed Adolf Hitler, tolerance changed to a very cruel way of intolerance. Very hot topic is also discrimination and not accepting homosexuals. Despite of that, many countries have allowed people with different sexual orientations to get married and even adopt children. There have even been gay parades even in Estonia, not to mention the ones that have been organised in world capitals like Rome and Berlin. Tough it is surrounded with a lot of critizism, it is a huge step to grew people's tolerance. My father once told me that earlobs can show people's tolerance. The longer the lobs, the more tolerant the person

Then he explains to Jane and others that the hauntings in Thornfield have been caused by his mentally unstable wife who lives in the attic. Many years later Jane returns to Thornfield before accepting a marriage proposal from someone else and moving away with them. Mormon Polygamy

Mormon Polygamy Polygamy was a defining characteristic of early Mormonism. Polygamy comes from Late Greek meaning ''often married'', is a form of marriage when a person has more than one spouse at the time. There are different types of polygamous families. When a man has more than one wife it is called polygny, when a woman has more than one husband it is called polyandry. If there are multiple wives and husbands it can be called group marriage. Mormonism is to say that it was dedicated to restoring everything in the Bible. Joseph Smith,Jr., Mormonism's founding prophet, who felt especially close to the Old Testament, believed his mission was to restore the customs from the Old Testament including the ancient Semitic custom of plural marriage. He himself did not acknowledge having multiple wives publicly since it was illegal. After Joseph Smith's murder by a mob on June 27, 1844, th...

Thesis Statement The Sorrows on Young Werther

back to Weimar. He could have fought some more and not give up so easily. Although Lotte denies it Werther was much loved by her, he just did not try hard enough. If he had higher self-esteem and goals then I believe he would have achieved his purpose to win the heart of Lotte. Werther thinks that the only way to end his sorrows is to commit suicide but he does not have enough positivness to keep on fighting for her and start with accepting Lotte's friendship. He cannot find happiness and he takes the easy way out by ending his life with a suicide. In my opinion Werther was too negative. He should have looked at his opportunities from the brighter side and believe in himself. If you believe you can achieve!

What is needed for good society

Good society needs three things. These things are: rudimentary democratic consent, universal access to human essentials and accessibility to other desirable items. If these aspects are not fulfilled; it is not a good society. In my opinion, good society is not the thing what suits for everybody, because if you will not agree with good society standards, you really are not the person who would be advantageous for this kind of society. Person who is not accepting these standards is communist and only fits in to the dictatorship supportive countries. For being appropriate member for food society you have to accept other people needs and at the same time sacrifice some of your own needs. Good society is not a paradise. Universal access to human essentials means that everyone have the rights to access elementary things for living, such as: air, water, food, protection from harsh weather (clothing and shelter), and safety from harm

Pienaar, were skilled and they acted well. The only negative thing, I'd say about this film, is that it made me feel a little bit sad, because there weren't so many positive emotions and events, which would have made this film a little bit more enjoyable. I liked this film and I would recommend watching this film, because it's very useful, teaching and inspiring, especially for young people and teenagers, who might have problems communicating and accepting other people, as the way they are. I wouldn't recommend this film to young children, because they wouldn't understand the main idea of this film and as the "Invictus" is a drama film, they might find it boring.

Idealization of nature in Romantic poetry

Also, it is referred to as God, in fact, the authors only God, which proposes the idea that Coleridge truly does see love of nature as a religion and respects it deeply. Certain differences can be specified when comparing Nature in romantic poetry to God and the way people want to connect themselves with Nature/God: for example, as much as God is thought of as something ideal, an amount of respect remains towards him and not accepting one's un-divine qualities and longing to resemble God can be seen as an insult in many religions. Regardless to this, man has always wanted to be ideal and because Nature in romantic poetry is seen as divine and God-like, therefore ideal, it adopts certain qualities that people want to possess. It becomes a holder of the ethical values that are thought of as essential by mankind and thus is seen as the ideal being and becomes a representative of a goal to reach.

I consider these topics very necessary since we life in 21 st century when everything around us develops really quickly and if we're not capable of accepting the changes and realising our dreams as soon as possible, we might actually fail and fall off the road. The Norman Conquest

The Norman Conquest William I (the Conqueror) (1066 - 1087) On October 14, in the fateful Battle of Hastings, William defeated and killed Harold and seized the English throne. Two months after the Battle of Hastings, William I was crowned king in Westminster Abbey. The service was held on Christmas Day 1066, with all the traditional ceremonies associated with the coronation of English kings since the time of Edgar. William had gained his throne by accepting the English form of coronation, William emphasised his claim to be legitimate successor to Edward the Confessor. William I was a strong king and a man of immense determination. He was stern to people who opposed his will, but kindly disposed to those who did not. William saw England as an extension of his French domains. He dispossessed nearly all the Anglo-Saxon nobles of their lands, and put Normans in their places. These men

Carl Lewis The greatest and most famous athlete of the last century, who formerly won about 20 gold medals in four different events (100 m, 200 m, long jump and 4x100 relay), is called Carl, which is a nick that hides his true identity: Frederick Carlton Lewis. He was born on 1st July 1961 in Birmingham, Alabama, the same country of Jesse Owens for the will of doom: in fact his parents lived there fleetingly owing to their job. Third of five sons, he spent his childhood in Willingboro together with his younger sister Carol, Bill, his dad and Evelyn, his mother. Since his first years of life he could breath the soft and clean air of sport: his father used to train athletes at university and his mother was 6th at 80 m hurdles in the Pan-American games of 1951.He saw the Olympic games of 1968 on TV and could admire Bob Beamon: he was...

Movie review

Every scene containing subtle and meticulous clues that unravel before your eyes. This review is spoiler free for those who have not seen this film yet and so may not contain some plot points. Set in 1954 US Marshall Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) accepts the case of a missing woman who has escaped from a mental institute for the criminally insane. He is assigned a new partner Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo). Teddy though has another reason for accepting the case, to find a man he believes killed his wife. He is haunted by images of his past atrocities committed in World War II and by visions of his dead wife. As he investigates he becomes more and more sure that there is something sinister being kept secret on the island and more afraid that he may never escape. That probably doesn't really do the plot justice but I'm afraid if I say to much I'll give away the ending. The way that Scorsese has crafted this film is really remarkable

The Death of the Author

could not accord language a sovereign place, since language is a system and since what the movement sought was, romantically, a direct subversion of all codes — an illusory subversion, moreover, for a code cannot be destroyed, it can only be “played with”; but by abruptly violating expected meanings (this was the famous surrealist “jolt”), by entrusting to the hand the responsibility of writing as fast as possible what the head itself ignores (this was automatic writing), by accepting the principle and the experience of a collective writing, surrealism helped secularize the image of the Author. Finally, outside of literature itself (actually, these distinctions are being superseded), linguistics has just furnished the destruction of the Author with a precious analytic instrument by showing that utterance in its entirety is a void process, which functions perfectly without requiring to be filled by the person of the interlocutors: linguistically, the author is never

The Witch Trials in Salem

Many people believed witches existed but did not believe the more ludicrous stories about them. Furthermore most people also became sceptical about cases where witches were supposed to have used magic to kill people. Increasingly people realised that the deaths might have been due to natural causes and they required proof they that were not. People did not necessarily stop believing in witches, at least not at first, but they became much more cautious about accepting 'evidence' of witchcraft realising that many maladies and mishaps have natural causes. Eventually however educated people gradually stopped believing in witches and magic. During the 18th century it became fashionable to regard witchcraft as just a superstition. In England the last execution for witchcraft was in 1684. By 1736 attitudes had changed so much that laws against witchcraft were repealed in England. They were replaced by a law that made it illegal to pretend to

the dark earth, moving their thick-feathered wings through the sky's bright ether. Quickly they arrived; and then you, Goddess, with a smile on your unaging face you asked me what is wrong with me this time and why I am calling you again and what my wild heart wishes again. "Again whom must I persuade into the harness of your love? Who isn't treating you well, Sappho? For if now runs away from you, soon will pursue you, if not accepting gifts from you, soon will offer, if not in love with you, soon will love even if you no more care." Come to me now again, release me from this pain, everything my spirit longs to have fulfilled, fulfill, and you be my ally.19 19 http://homoecumenicus.com/ioannidis_sappho_aphrodite.htm 16 Kristel Lepik SOSE.01.139

communication across all team members and disciplines that are involved in the project. A key principle of Scrum is its recognition that during a project the customers can change their minds about what they want and need (often called Requirements Churn), and that fundamentally empirical challenges cannot be addressed successfully in a traditional predictive or planned manner. As such, Scrum adopts an empirical approach – accepting that the problem cannot be fully understood or defined, focusing instead on maximizing the team's ability to deliver quickly and respond to emerging requirements. 21. Cost Accounting notes

Past costs are called sunk costs, because they are unavoidable and cannot be changed no matter what action is taken. Quantitative factors are outcomes that are measured in numerical terms, qualitative factors are outcomes that are difficult to measure accurately in numerical terms. One-time-only Special Orders - one type of decision that affects output levels is accepting or rejecting special orders when there is idle production capacity and special orders have no long-run implications. Make-or-Buy decisions - decisions whether a producer of goods or services will insource or outsource. Incremental cost is the additional total cost incurred for an activity. A differential cost is the difference in total cost between two alternatives.

The Medium Is the Message

studying the pharmacology of dirt!" (Hans Selye, The Stress o f Life) As Selye deals with the total environmental situation in his "stress" theory of disease, so the latest approach to media study considers not only the "content" but the medium and the cultural matrix within which the particular medium operates. The older unawareness of the psychic and social effects of media can be illustrated from almost any of the conventional pronouncements.-- In accepting an honorary degree from the University of Notre Dame a few years ago, General David Sarnoff made this statement: "We are too prone to make technological instruments the scapegoats for the sins of those who wield them. The products of modern science are not in themselves good or bad; it is the way they are used that determines their value." That is the voice of the current somnambulism. Suppose we were to say, "Apple pie is in itself neither

Altkäemaks karistusõiguses

The same may be said about a socialist society where, for example, shortage of goods was regulated by bribery, which in a market economy is regulated mainly by price. The peculiarity of Estonia is that it is a country in transition and corruption here, incl. the cases of bribery, should in theory be decreasing, but in practice it is not the case. The purpose of this study is mainly to analyse the act to be performed by a person accepting a bribe, i.e. an official, in the interest of a person giving a bribe, the performance of which requires an official position. In order to achieve the said objective the persons being the specific element of bribery cannot be left without any attention. The key person in bribery cases is an official and his/her official position. The accurate description of those terms is important when solving the cases. As a symbiosis of two of the said problems and criminal

Kuidas tänada kutse ja peo eest? Kutse eest tänatakse juba sellega, et vastatakse kutsele. Vastuvõtult lahkudes tänatakse peoperemeest ja peoperenaist kutse ja meeldiva peo eest. Võimalusel kirjutatakse tänusõnad külalisteraamatusse või jäetakse visiitkaart vastavale kandikule või lauale. Väga kena komme on tänada võõrustajaid meeleoluka vastuvõtu eest kirjalikult mõne päeva pärast.

Introduction of SCM

The idea that companies should focus on their core competencies is rapidly taking hold. As a result there is a greater willingness to out-source than was previously the case. This trend has been particularly observable in global corporations where there has been recognition that the complexity of managing a worldwide logistics chain requires specialist resources. There is now a great opportunity to start thinking of the supply chain as a value chain. Rather than accepting the conventional view that believes that all value-creating activities need to be conducted under the same corporate roof, forward-looking organisations are taking a different view. Particularly as supply chains become global it will often make sense to move to a greater level of 'localisation', i.e. the final finishing or configuration of the product being performed much closer to the point of demand. To enable this to be

We're just silly little girls, who fall for stupid boys Before i met you i did not know what it was like, to just smile at someone for no reason Love is the air only two hearts can breathe And I cry, tears of hate, tears of pain, tears of lost love, tears for something I know I will never get back No boy is worth your tears and the one that is wont make you cry Never cry because it ENDED, be happy because it HAPPENED Letting go doesn`t mean giving up, it is accepting that some things just are not meant to be There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved People have conquered armies and countries but you conquered my heart Lets commit the perfect crime, I'll steal your heart and you'll steal mine What do you do when the only person who can make you laugh is the one making you cry? You make me laugh when i don't even want to smile Don't tell me you love me, unless you can prove it Girl: Since when have you been so interested in school?
