The Absolutely True Diary of a part-time Indian

After winning the game, Junior became popular, but he is sad also, because he broke Rowdy's heart. The book was very brilliant for me. It is a a novel about hope, about who has it and who doesn't, and about how hard life can be when hope leaves and also how life can change when hope reappears. The book is a search for finding a place where Junior can feel at home and use his talents. This was a wonderful, original, and fast read book for me. ,,The absolutely true diary of a part-time indian" is great read for all ages, i strongly recommended to read it. It is very fun and sad together. The book is filled with bravery- it shows how to cope with difficulties in the brand-new situation and also provides an overview of the Native American way of life. I really enjoyed this book and i believe that you will also do the same....

Books are not absolutely dead things

Jakko Viilo, 11.c Books are not absolutely dead things Books have been our mates many centuries. They give you a lot of knowledge, they make you feel happy, but sometimes also sad too. If you have read any book through, one is certain your life is not the same anymore as it was. So, a question comes to my mind if books are material things, they can not speak, they can not do anything to you, they just lay on the table, then how they can influence your life sometimes so much? They are all written by humans...

I will see you later." "Mphm." Meanwhile, I will er think it over." "Mphm." 7) "Well, McAllister?" said Lord Emsworth coldly. "What is the matter, McAllister?" "You appear agitated, McAllister." 8) "Oh!" said Freddie. He paused. "Oh, ah!" He paused again. "Oh, ah, yes! I've been meaning to tell you about that, guv'nor." "You have, have you?" "All perfectly correct, you know. Oh, yes, indeed! All most absolutely correct-o! Nothing fishy, I mean to say, or anything like that. She's my fiancée" A sharp howl escaped Lord Emsworth, as if one of the bees humming in the lavender-beds had taken time off to sting him in the neck. 9) "The fact is, guv'nor " "You know you are forbidden to come to London." "Absolutely, guv'nor, but the fact is " "And why anybody but an imbecile should want to come to London when he could be at...

Education

Relaying my own experience is easy: I had a standard classroom approach, supplemented by inordinate reading. In only the briefest and least memorable instances did I receive any individual tutoring. Education is commonly thought of as the job of schools. Adults cry "educate our children!" Everyone has opinions about the best way to do the job. It is of urgent importance, and all the numerous factors are much studied, debated, and new (or old) ideas continually tested or retested. Some people say "it's as simple as . . . " and then name their pet peeve or passion. My view is not of an education specialist, but of one who loves sharing what I learn, and owes much to educators. Since I don't have an educational theory neatly worked-out, nor an outline of my perceptions, my intent is to addr...

Peace and keeping

must be reachable with words. Luckily, there are more and more international peace organizations that help acheive and maintain peace. They are doing everything that they can to keep the world from destroying itself. In Conclusion, there have been thousands of battles and wars all over the world. Whether the reason is land, religion or any other disagreement, the course of the war is still the same - the land gets ravaged and people get injured or even die. War brings absolutely no good. That is why it is so important for everyone to keep peace....

). They use lots of advertisements because they want to earn money (if the channel is more popular they earn more money). Some people say that it is needless to have so much adverts but I think that it is good because you can choose which product is the best for you. but it's true that they sometimes lie and many of them are absolutely stupid. "The Taming of the Shrew" Shakespeare

The climax could be seen in the wedding scene in Act III or in Katherine's decision in Act III to agree with Petruchio whatever he says. Conclusion I was a pleasantly surprised after reading this book. At first I was afraid there would be complicated use of words and heavy use of complex rhyme schemes. It was relieving to find out that the book was very easy to read. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in literature. The book was fun and I am absolutely not surprised that this play is one of Shakespeare's most performed plays in the world....

Presentation vocabulary

Everyday language Using slang and everyday expressions can make an impact on the audience and add drama: Where's the caring side of employment gone? I'll tell you where. It's hiding behind a damned set of targets and objectives that's where it is! You need to know your audience very well to use this kind of language. Emphasising and minimising Emphasising Strong adverbs intensify adjectives: We've had an extremely good year. This kind of negligence is absolutely unacceptable. Adverbs can be total, very strong, or moderate. TOTAL absolutely (fantastic) completely (awful) entirely (depressing) totally (unacceptable) VERY STRONG extremely (good) very (bad) highly (dangerous) MODERATE fairly (safe) reasonably (expensive) quite (cheap) Minimizing Look at the way the following expressions of degree and uncertainty modify, or minimize, the message: It seems we will have to delay the delivery....

Hoe to write an argumentative essay?

If the writer feels there are more arguments for than against the topic, it is advisable to give those before the final paragraph to lead the reader to a proper conclusion. If giving support to an opinion throughout the essay, the opinion should be restated here. There are a lot of linking expressions that are useful for connecting the separate sentences and paragraphs into a logical cohesive text and are considered absolutely necessary in a good essay. The following are some examples of these. To introduce points: Firstly/To begin with/In the first place; One point in favour of/against is/One advantage of ... is/One disadvantage of ... is, etc. To add more points: Secondly/Thirdly/What is more/Furthermore/both ... and/not only ... but also/In addition/Besides/A further advantage of ... is/not to mention the fact that, etc. To make contrasting points or to present the other side of the argument:...

Logical argument

If farmers really need to kill foxes, why don't they just shoot them? What if there isn't enough work to go round? What if the employers decide to introduce new working practices? And what happens if the two sides can't agree? What would happen then if state benefits were cut completely? If this also makes Britain more attractive for overseas visitors, so well and good. You'd only use capital punishment if you were absolutely sure that you'd convicted the right person. It'd be O.K. if they recognised the quality of the songs their grandmother had taught them and went on to sing them to their own grandchildren. 8.2 Questions based on conditions with sentence adverbials " then" and "so" We punish murderers and rapists on Earth, so why shouldn't the same people rot in hell? but if you want to go to a nicer locality, you can spend all day getting there....

The Inchcape Rock

So it could be said that Southey believed the doom for mankind to lie in the selfishness and short-sightedness of men. Southey used very typical romanticist images in this poem. The sea was a very popular theme at that period, because it is the best proof of nature's supremacy over humans. The scene at sea can change very quickly, at one moment being calm and smooth, and at the next with a raging storm. It is absolutely uncontrollable, and so is the best way to show people how small they are when compared to the awesome power of Mother Nature. 3 The Inchcape Rock Robert Southey No stir in the air, no stir in the sea, The ship was still as she could be, Her sails from heaven received no motion, Her keel was steady in the ocean. Without either sign or sound of their shock The waves flow'd over the Inchcape Rock; So little they rose, so little they fell,...

Topic - Estonia

Some endangered species, such as the brown bear, lynx and wolf, are represented in small numbers. Estonia is believed to have 40,000 living species, but only about 23,500 have so far been discovered. Compared to more northern areas, Estonia has one of the richest diversities of flora and fauna. Estonia's meadows are very rich in different species and the colours of them are absolutely fantastic. 8. Population Estonia is one of the most sparsely populated countries in Europe with 29 people per one square mile. The estimated population in 2007 was 1.3 million. From approximately the first to fifth centuries AD, resident farming was established and the population grew. A more troubled and war-ridden middle Iron Age followed with dangers coming both from the Baltic tribes and from overseas. Several Scandinavian sagas refer to Estonian pirates. During the wars under...

Cigarettes - Enemies or Friends?

Cigarettes Enemies Or Friends? A cigarette is distinguished from a cigar by its smaller size, use of processed leaf, and white paper wrapping. There are about 1.2 billion smokers in the world who are absolutely attracted to the cigarettes. As the new generation is growing up, the so-called "smoking-cult" is a normal matter and that enormous number of smokers is only increasing. But as a matter of fact smoking is just a bad habit and very dangerous for your health. So can we call cigarettes our friends? Most countries in the world have a legal smoking age of 18. That means that when you are not and adult you should not smoke or consume any products related to tobacco and cigarettes. But if...

Story about English Humor

Story about English humor At first, I have to say that English humor is very frightening and quite shocking for us, Estonians. But if to talk about British people and their humor then for them, it's more than everyday life. It is something they are use to see and hear every day, day after another. They do not take it that serious as the other nationalities would and they are definitely the best laughers at themselves. The brightest memory I have from those two videos is that guy in the wheelchair. Unbelievable how selfish and rude they are! And no-one can do anything about that. If they say so then all the people around them have to act like they wish. They are absolutely innocently taking the advantage of other innocent people. Certainly we cannot talk about all disabled people from that point of view, but the exception affirms the rule. And in Britain, you can find a lot of exceptions. The second thing whi...

Surprise

I unfolded the letter and started reading the lines. It was a formal letter and it took only a brief moment for me to understand what it was about. The letter was from the artschool that my sister told me about. I was also invited to attend. Afterwards it came out that my sister wanted to surprise me with the letter from her new school headmaster. But she had forgotton it on the kitchen table and it had fallen to the floor, where I found it. I was absolutely thrilled. It was really a great letter to receive....
