Formal letter - about suicideterrorism lecture

Dear Mrs. Antia Luik January 23th We had a lecture on suicideterrorism and motives for suicide. It was a very instructive lecture, because I got a lot of new information about terrorism. Such information, which I did not yet know or have heard. I can use that information in our bibliographical and if lucky, the English language examination. Such lectures could be more, because terrorism is a situation which can be found in almost every country. Still the subject of terrorism, I would like to know more. I would like to know more precisely how to deal with situations if someone wants to commit suicide and kill others or

"About a boy"

"About a boy" Review This film is about a saying: "No man is an island," but the main character Will seems to think otherwise because he is always alone and he enjoys it. Eventually he meets some new people and realizes that he was wrong and that it is better to be honest and surrounded by good people. No-one should be alone in life and fortunately Will no longer has to be. I liked the film because it was gripping and moving. It made me feel like the characters. It was also funny and a bit sad. I think the funniest part was when

Benefits and drawbacks about Estonia

Estonia is divided into 15 counties which are divided in turn into 207 rural municipalities and 47 towns. The Republic of Estonia, the northernmost and smallest of the three Baltic countries, is located on the eastern shores of the Baltic Sea in the north-east of Europe. Lying between East and West, it has served as junction of international trade routes for centuries. Moreover, Estonian neighbours are Russia and Latvia. Estonia is accessible, both from a logistical and social point of view - Tallinn is within 3 hours flight from major European capitals and the power distance is very low. In the west, the coast of Estonia is washed by the Baltic Sea. It is a land of great natural beauty with a long and varied history and rich culture. That's their nature especially concerning national symbols such as their music or their language. Even if Estonia is tiny, it still offers a breathtaking amount of nature. It is safe or safer than most pl...

About Peter I House Museum

About Peter I House Museum Emperor Peter I (1672-1725) expanded the borders of the Russian Empire in the course of the Northern War and managed to annex the whole Estonian territory by the year 1710. Therefore the protection of the new border areas became the priority of the ruler and he paid a lot of attention to the reconstruction of ports in Tallinn and Paldiski and visited Tallinn several times. Together with the site of the would-be palace, a summer estate and a 17th-century cottage that had belonged to town councillor von Drenteln were purchased for the emperor's use in 1713. The small cottage was enlarged with a wing and the outcome was a building with a hall, a kitchen and four rooms. The small summer residence was in use until the emperor's death. The succeeding rulers used the Palace of Kadriorg that had been completed only after Peter's death and the small building was neglected. The building was ...

Report about Steffani Pizza Restaurant

Introduction The purpose of this report is to highlight some good and bad points of Steffani Pizza Restaurant. In order to prepare this report I handed out to their recent customers questionnaires in order to get the most recent data. Good points of Steffani Pizza Restaurant Firstly, I have to point out that the customers are very satisfied with the prices and they are probably willing to pay higher prices, if Steffani wants to raise the prices. There is something specail about the atmosphere, because my research show that people spend there about two times more than in other eating places in Pärnu. Secondly, I have to mention that the food is quite delicious. Bad points of Steffani Pizza Restaurant The biggest problem with Steffani seems to be their workers. Actually they are in desperate need of new workers. The questionnaire shows that people will have to wait for about an hour, to get their

For & against about credit cards.

Using credit cards Credit cards have been very popular for two decades already. There are many ways to pay for your shoppings and not to worry about how much money you really have. First of all, credit cards are an amazing invention because it makes our everyday-lives so much easier. We do not have to carry cash with us, we can pay by a credit card. Carrying cash is actually pretty dangerous because you can get robbed. But when your card gets stolen, you just call to the bank and they close it for any further operations. Second of all, it is comfortable and feels like somebody is taking care of your finantial business.

Essay about NewZealand and Australia

In my essay I will describe the most characteristic features of the Maori people and the aborigines. I will divide the essay in 3 parts the Maori people, the aborigines and their comparison. Maori are the host people of New Zealand. Their name is derived from Ma-Uri which means the children of heaven. The arrival of the Maori people to New Zealand is considered to be somewhat of a mystery. It is known that first Polynesians arrived to New Zealand about 1000 years ago, when navigator Kupe discovered the land in 950 AD. He named it Aotearoa The Land of the Long White Cloud. Although these facts can be debatable, I will focus my attention on this interpretation of Maori history. After the Maori arrived to New Zealand, they started to develop into tribes and sub tribes, this tribal system is still in use. Their culture had almost no influence from the rest of the world. They evolved a culture endorsed by agriculture and hunting

Essay about necessaty of zoos

Zoos are sometimes seen as necessary alternatives to a natural environment. Not only people are trying to keep endangered species and rare animals in the nature reserves, but also the number of zoos built around the world is slowly growing. Do we actually need those kind of man-made "homes" for animals or is it better for them to live outside cement walls in their natural habitat? First of all, nowadays we need to help the nature and animals that are the ones facing quite big danger of becoming extinct. Mostly it is caused by our selfish attitude: we do not take care of nature. Zoo is one of the solutions to help to preserve nature and to protect it from poachers. For example Loxodonta africana is an African elephant who has been hunt down and whose population was significantly reduced in 20th century. The population in the Tanzanian Selous Game Reserve, once the largest of any reserve in the world, dropped from 109 000 in ...

Christmas and Easter

Dear Tom, It was nice to hear from you and you asked me to write about religious holidays that are celebrated in my country. I will talk about Easter and Christmas celebrations. Easter is a moveable feast, meaning it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. The date of Easter therefore varies between March 22 and April 25. Originally only Christians celebrated Easter. According to Christians, Jesus was resurrected from the dead that day. Newer elements such as the Easter Bunny and Easter egg have become part of the holiday's modern celebrations, and those aspects are often celebrated by many Christians and non-Christians alike

Pärnu Hansadays

Pärnu Hansa days Pärnu Hansa days take place every june and during four days. Reason for celebrating is, that people can go back in time, and do same things, as it was in the Middle Ages. Days before the festival, organisers have to register sellers, who are going to sell their Middle Ages products. Also, there is a lot of job with searching good musicians and entertainers. On the top of this, it takes lot of time to bring all stages and tables to the festival place. On the actual day, there are many people in the Middle Ages costume. There is a huge Middle Ages fair, and people can buy what ever they like. Participants can see many perfomances, take part of different games, and just have nice days with nice people. If you enjoy fairs, perfomances and meeting Middle Ages traditions, don't miss it! It is the perfect way to spend your summer days.

Australia

It covers more than two-thirds of Australia, but its population is less than 100,000. In some places, it doesn't rain for years. There are hills and big dry salt lakes, and it is very difficult to grow anything there. Many people live on sheep or cattle stations, a few of which are as large as the country of England. The nearest neighbour can be a hundred kilometres away and the nearest city 1,500 kilometres away. Australia has a population of about 23 million people, most of whom live in the south and east of the country, where the summers are warm and the winters not too cold. The highest mountain in Australia is Mount Kosciuszko, at 2,228 metres. Australia's longest river, the Murray-Darling, is 2,700 kilometres long. The only large permanent lakes in Australia have been artificially created, as most of the natural lakes there are dry for months or years at a time. Lake Eyre is the largest lake in Australia and also the lowest point.

Even though its area is bigger than that of the United States, its population is only about 11% of that of the USA some 35 million. Because of that, Canada has one of the lowest population densities in the world. The capital of Canada is Ottawa the name of whose comes from the old Algonquin language, with the original word meaning `to trade'. Due to the country's huge size and position, it is very diverse. Love- your worst enemy?

Love- your worst enemy? There comes a time in everyone's life when we start doubting if this life is really worth living. It is because we have loved. We have reasons to feel bad about ourselves. But is love really your worst enemy? Is heartache a good reason to start feeling worthless and give up on everything? It is one thing to love a family member. Every person in your family is important and you have to love and care for them. A family has to stick together and always be there for each other. It is not difficult to love somebody related to you. It is quite natural. You can feel the connection between that person and yourself.

Telling

The Christmas season in the UK would be nothing without the traditional ,,panto". Comedians, singers and dancers perform in hilariously exaggerated ways. The shows are mostly aimed to children and are based on popular fairy stories and folk legends. Pantomime has become big business in the UK. It can often run for six to eight weeks. Pantomime needs to have a strong story line and has to include all the important elements as the good battling against the evil where the good must come out as a winner. Shows include comic chases and situations which are known as Slapstick comedy. This comedy takes its name from a magical device that makes slapping noise and is used by characters. The most famous of those pantomime clowns was Joseph grimaldi who made his first appearance in 1800. Pantomime now had its first real star.

Report-Suggetions for the shop

your employees' minds off of whatever might be bothering them, and will almost always improve one's mood throughout the course of a day. It should also be noted that since employees spend a great deal of their day at your store, you should try to switch up the music as much as possible. By doing this you would not have only satisfied customers but also employees. Special offers and client cards Finally, you could make more discounts and also think about client cards. Discounts always attracts people`s attention. Client cards gives people more opportunities to get different discounts and maybe some privileges. In this way, your shop would be more famous. Conclusion To sup up, I believe that if you include some of the suggestions above, you will be able to change your shop very attractive and successful. As a result, the costumers will have the best experience.

What do scientists think about yetis?

The Yeti or Abominable Snowman is a ape-like mythological creature. Even though there is little evidence that the Yeti exists, it has been speculated by some scientists that these creatures could be called as Gigantopithecus. Over numerous conferences, the result that scientists gave was that Yeti actually exists. One of the evidences made scientist believe was the film of female yeti that was taken in California 30 years ago. Other evidences are reports of hikers seeing yeti in the mountains and also their footprints. The reason why report was so strongly supported and believable was because scientists noticed that no one would go up Himalayas and make a lie. One more report was sent from a team of hikers who climbed Mountain Everest. Most scientists believe the Yeti does not exist because there are no final results found yet to this answer. As to the evidence found by explorers that seems to support the existence of the yeti, none has...

Anxiety

Caffeine and alcohol are most certainly not recommended, since they can trigger panic attacks and aggravate anxiety. It has also been said that daily exercise can help people feel happy and maintain their health. When feeling anxious, it is important to pay notice to our breathing. Breathing exercises can quickly reduce anxiety and are easy to learn and remember. One of the most famous ones is to take a breath for five seconds, hold, then breathe out slowly for about seven seconds and repeat it a few times. It is also important to not suffer alone and try to surround ourselves with people. Friends and family are the best support we can get to cope with anxiety.

Of course, like anything else, video games can be addictive, which may lead to eye damage. The impact of excessive visual medium is evident as a large number of children these days start wearing spectacles from an early age. Long hours of playing can also result in headaches and dizziness. Old Tallinn

Old Tallinn Old Town, a medieval walled city filled with old buildings and fortifications. The sheltered bay and the easily defended Toompea Hill made it a natural place to settle. Sometime about 1050 A.D. a fortress was built atop the hill, the first of many. In 1219 the Danes showed up as part of the Northern Crusade to subjugate the Baltics and convert the local pagans to Christianity whether they wanted to or not. The Danes improved the fortifications and expanded the town, which became part of the Hanseatic League, a trading organization of a hundred northern cities. The Danes sold Tallinn to the Livonan Order, a branch of the Teutonic Knights, in 1346. The Swedes came next in 1561

Pride and Prejudice Book report

Collins marries Charlotte Lucas. Lizzie is disappointed in Charlotte. I find the marriage also inconvenient, because Charlotte would be unhappy with Collins. Elizabeth meets a young officer, Mr.Wickham, with who Elizabeth became a friend for a while. Honestly Wickham was a deceiver and a strange man, who married Lydia Bennet. When Darcy first proposes to Elizabeth, than she refuses. He is stunned and mortified to be rejected. I think Elizabeth believed more the prejudice she had about Darcy and she did not believe at first that Darcy could be generous and even friendly and kind. The ending is really beautiful and I like it. Darcy proposes Elizabeth again and this time she accepts. They have a double wedding with joy and love. A major theme is the importance of environment and upbringing on the development of young people's character and morality. Social standing and wealth are not necessarily advantages.

Letter of complaint

I was told that the phone has guarantee for 6 months. It worked properly for three weeks. Then it suddenly stopped working, the screen went black and the buttons didn’t function. I immedately phoned your helpline and was told that this was completely my fault and i have to pay extra money for the repair. I think that it is unreasonable that I have to pay for the phone repair because guarantee is 6 months. I also think that in the future you should talk to your employees about their attitude. I would like to get my phone repaired for free. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, xy

English essay

Living in the country has acquired certain reputation, that indicates dirtiness, dullness and uncoiseness with a life in the countryside. True, that a life in the city may seem more entertaining, rapid and fastinating, but it's only an illusion which is brought out due to the commotion in the city. But life in the countryside is more healthy due to the unpolluted air, possibility to evolve agriculture and an elbowroom in which one can dabble sports. One negative side effect accompanies living in the country is absense of infrastructures. Many important institutions locate too far and due to that transportation is an important subject while living in the country. To sum up, living in the city is comfortable but noisy and living in the country is peaceful but time-consuming.
